I feel like an extra from alien - its like a facehugger trying to get out! I'm both weirded out and completely besotted! Was sitting in an uber boring fire safety update and kick kick kick, I looked down and my belly was actually moving, not just me feeling it! I'm flippin amazed!!!

PickleBot · 19/04/2016 19:31

I'm not crying at the drop of a hat, but I am raging. The tiniest things make me really angry, yesterday it was DH eating the last packet of quavers. My business partner has started keeping a packet of biscuits on her desk so if I start raging about something she can distract me!

Fizzy I'm glad they are seeing you quickly.

Anyone else getting really sweaty? I don't normally but I'm soaking anything with sleeves Blush I think I might have to upgrade my deodorant! Any recommendations?

Glad you have an appointment through so quickly fizzy I hope all goes well tomorrow.

Mslg · 19/04/2016 20:33

Pickle I use Mitchum and it's really good. I can be a sweaty Betty at times so I roll the big guns out when I need it and they have a heavy duty one which is brilliant. It's a bit pricey but seems to last a good while in comparison to a spray

peardrop2 · 20/04/2016 02:28

Hello everyone :-) I'm so sorry for my silence! I have a good reason for it but I just wanted to say sorry non the less! A month a go I started bleeding and I've been in hospital a lot because of it Sad I decided not to come on MN during the time because I was A) so freaked out and B) didn't want to pass my anxiety on! Anyway, I had my 20 week scan and everything is perfect Smile The bleeding is caused by something called cervix ectropion. Anyone else experienced this? So, it is at the neck of the cervix and not in the womb. A complete pain in the arse because I've had to really change my lifestyle pace and alter how I am with DS but I'm just about managing things now. I'm meant to be flying 2x in May and I just really really hope I can still go on both trips! I've also got a hen party to go to and I've had to tell the bride that I won't be able to go dancing or be around busy bars as the smallest of knocks sets me off Angry

Anyway, I've enjoyed catching up with you all! Your bumps look amazing and all the chat about date nights has made me think I really should try and arrange something for my wedding anniversary coming up! It's so easy to not be bothered anymore when you already have a child Blush and because I daren't dtd anymore I really feel distant with DH which is Sad

So sorry to hear about all the heart worry you've had F! I had similar scares like that with DS so I understand what you're going through. All the extra scans are lovely and the hospitals in London that deal with heart scans I found amazing but it does put extra worry in your mind and I found it very un relaxing for my first pregnancy. I hope you start to get answers and reassurance very soon Thanks I really enjoyed the 3rd trimester when all the tests were over!!

I've not seen the brown line on my tummy yet but I didn't get one last time.

Also, yes to feeling extra sweaty! I'm interested in looking up the deodorant suggestion!

Who is the naughty person who has brought lots of pink already before finding out hee hee Smile Maybe your gut instinct is right! I brought some pink things going on my gut instinct and I couldn't stop looking at pink things no matter how hard I tried...turns out I was right Wink

lilygirl81 · 20/04/2016 08:17

pear you poor thing, that must be so stressful, but at least the baby is doing well.

I've spent the night back in hospital after a fairly stressful day. My tightenings got more frequent and sore, so popped in to get a check over before I went to work yesterday. They decided that given what's gone on before, they would do some tests, so did an FFH swab to check for pre-term labour (negative) and then sent me for a scan for cervical length. The sonographer could see the cervix abdominally, but when she measured it, it was only 1.4cm. I got told that would be me on bed rest and potentially admitted for quite a while. I spent the afternoon panicking, then the consultant came and got me, and said she wasn't happy with the scan and wanted to do one herself, internally. This one showed a lovely long, closed cervix with nothing to worry about!!! She said it's because you have a full bladder for the abdominal cervical scan, which often distorts the cervix. Anyway, decided to keep me overnight and start me on progesterone pessaries to try and calm my cramps.

Can't say I've noticed much of a difference so far, but fingers crossed these work. I do have to decide about work, may need to cut my hours so planning a chat with HR when I'm back.

Suziesome1 · 20/04/2016 08:41

Fizz, pear, lily, - thinking of you all x

FourForYouGlenCoco · 20/04/2016 08:47

pear lovely to see you back! So sorry to hear you've been stressed Sad but ever so pleased all is well with baby and you're feeling more reassured now! Did you find out what flavour you're having??
lily wow, just goes to show that sonographers can get it (very!) wrong. That's pretty crap to make you worry all day for no reason. Glad baby girl is doing well. I would definitely cut your work hours if you can, you just don't need any extra stress at the moment.
Fizzy thinking of you today and hope you can get some answers/reassurance. Fingers crossed your baby girl is just being cheeky!
Elle tiny hint of linea nigra here, it was super dark with DD by this time. I am very furry though and growing myself a little happy trail Blush need to break the Veet out ASAP!
Plimsolls are you adjusting to living with your OH? Hope your tenants calmed themselves down and stopped being horrible, it never fails to amaze me how dickheaded some people can be.
Sophia hugs to you, bus woman sounds like a right cow! Next time you should just leap right into the flowers and start trampling them all over the place like an angry bull. Screw her.

Well I had my follow-up yesterday to my original mystery scan. This one was with a consultant and she was FANTASTIC. We were quite clearly on the same page, she basically said the first scan had been pointless in the first place (which I've said the whole time!). Had a quick look at baby and was completely happy with everything, said she'd book me in for one last scan at 34 weeks "to keep them happy" and then I could go back to low risk and back to my original plan. So I'm a happy bunny Grin and baby boy is growing beautifully. He is still breech though and has been since before the 20w scan! I can feel his head at the top of my tummy, bizarre. Really want him to turn as he keeps kicking me in the colon and it's uncomfortable!

bearhuggy · 20/04/2016 11:50

great news coco so pleased all looks well and how nice you get these extra scans! Plenty of time for him to move into the correct place so don't worry....he must just be super comfy standing on your lower bits!!

pear welcome back, sorry to hear you have had a tough time with it all but happy all is well with your little one. Take it easy and no crowd surfing on the hen Grin

lily glad all ok your end, do you think work will be supportive of you cutting hours? I hope you can find a good balance.

I had my 4D scan this morning which was amazing, some pictures attached. Baby was sitting playing with it's cord and gave us a couple of funny swallows and a yawn Shock just amazing how much you can see on these things ! All looked fine and well and we are still keeping the gender a surprise but feel free to guess away...I think a boy, or is it a girl, hmmmm !!!

Any news from fizzy yet?

Fizzyboo · 20/04/2016 14:12

Hi Mama's I'm out, and with news of

A NORMAL VARIANT!!!

Bubs aortic arch, instead of leaving the heart and going to the left and down, instead goes to the right. This in itself poses no trouble.
I'm going back in 8 weeks so they can check if all of the off branches of of the aortic arch have all just agreed to go to the right as well or if there's a line one that wanted to go the other way, and that's the only time it could pose any sort of problem as it can go around the trachea and squeeze it a bit. If that happens, an operation can be done soon after birth to move it so no damage to the trachea occurs. But we'll know if this is likely at my second scan with them, no signs just yet but harder to tell. No need to birth in London or anything, I'm beyond happy!!!! Xxxxx

Fizzyboo · 20/04/2016 14:15

By the way, just popped of quick to update you, I'll drive back and catch up with all your news when I get in, solidarity girls xx

Christinedonna · 20/04/2016 14:21

fizzy what a relief! So happy for you. Told you, little diva you've got yourself!

bearhuggy · 20/04/2016 14:27

oh wonderful news fizzy thanks for updating us, have been thinking about you all day! Now go and relax and put your feet up with some Cake and a Brew :)

FourForYouGlenCoco · 20/04/2016 15:54

Oh fizzy that's so fantastic, been wondering how you got on! So, so pleased and relieved for you. Hurray!!

bear those pictures are amazing! So clear Shock and what a cutie pie! Amazing to think that just a few short months ago they all looked like little prawns, and now they're real proper babies!

peardrop2 · 20/04/2016 16:51

Thank you lily Thanks and poor you! Is this your first child or did you have to arrange childcare on top of that stress? What a shame someone didn't tell you to empty your bladder first or maybe that doesn't make a difference?! That must of been frustrating for you to hear! Not that it matters, but have you enjoyed the hospital food? I quite enjoyed mine! I'm not sure if it's because I felt pampered to have someone cook for me...its been too long! TG your consultant was able to spot what was up with the scan and come up with another solution for you. Are you nervous about talking to HR?

Thank you suzie Thanks How are things with you?

Thank you Four Thanks and yes I'm having a girl this time. I am very happy. I wonder what the gender stats are on this thread now. If I had the time I would collect how many pink, blue and yellow teams we have! Wonderful news about your scan! Isn't it just fantastic when you're seen by someone helpful, makes all the difference in the world! Interesting that your baby has taken position for a few weeks already! I guess you must be a bit ahead of me as I'm 21w and baby is still wriggling around. Ahhh you must feel over the moon that you're back to low risk!

Thank you bear Thanks and wow what an amazing 3D view! Amazing that you can see baby yawn too! I'm thinking boy too. How many weeks are you?

Fizzy that's just great news! Well done! How wonderful that you now have a clearer picture of what's going on so you can go back to enjoying pregnancy!! What a relief for you X

bearhuggy · 20/04/2016 17:06

Thank you coco and pear ! So crazy how different they are now...it's actually a real life baby rather than a little wriggly prawny thing! Keep staring at the pictures today trying to get my head around the fact that it's actually mine. Mental.

pear I am 25 + 5, they say for the 4D scan it's best to wait until around this time to get the best view, before they get too big and squished. Really recommend it if anyone is considering.

Christinedonna · 20/04/2016 17:32

Il be 24+3 for my 4D scan on Sunday. I was adviced to wait until 28 weeks but just couldn't!

bearhuggy · 20/04/2016 17:49

that will be fine christine you will get some lovely shots! Only a few days left to wait now :)

Christinedonna · 20/04/2016 17:52

bear I can't wait!

Fizzyboo · 20/04/2016 19:33

Again, thanks so much everyone! I have been walking on air since! Got outside, the sun was shining, smell of fresh cut grass in the air, my husband gave our waiter at lunch afterwards the biggest tip haha!

It's funny isnt it, a few decades ago, when I was born in the early 80's, my mum said she was never scanned with me, but was with my brother, I'm 34 and he's 33. Whole generations have probably had this sort of thing just go unnoticed as it wouldnt nessesscarily affect them in their daily lives as we just didnt look inside babies then!

She wants me to have them be sure all else is fine (I had previously read that it can be linked with the trisomies, i guess it means that) though my last scan with the consultant says no sign of any and my downs risk was 1:7500... toying mildly with the idea of maybe looking into harmony testing just to put it all to bed, not sure, did anyone have one at a reasonable cost? Got my GTT test next month, another possible link, but mostly I'm told, 'just one of those things' Not sure if i'll be consultant led now or stay midwife led, have to wait and see I guess...

pear hello again and welcome back! So sorry you had been having a hard time of it, I bled for pretty much the first 2 months of this pregnancy (so i started all these million scans early from 7 weeks) mine wasnt my cervix, but a subchorionic hematoma (?) Blood has got to be the least settling thing you can see when preg! Glad youve got a reason now, get those feet up!

Lily Sounds super stressful, but again, so glad to hear that all is ok, def time to start winding down on the work front me thinks, time for some lily time..

Four Glad they know who's boss and you get to sing from your own hymnsheet again! Also hope you're boy get's his feet out of your colon! Every scan i've had, the position has been a different one, yet none great for scanning it seems! Shes a circus baby doing cartwheels in me by all accounts!

And bear? amazing pics! I'm now pretty tempted myself they look so good! And what a cute nose!!!

Thanks again all for your wishes, you're the best!!

plimsolls · 20/04/2016 20:23

fizzy I am so pleased for you. Really excellent news!

coco I'm really glad your scan was good and you can have the low risk birth you hoped for.

pear I can't imagine how stressful that must have been, I'm glad all has turned out well. Actually, I could say exactly the same to you lily!

What a lot of good news today!

bear Those are lovely pictures and one very cute baby!

coco Thank you, I'm feeling pretty settled and really excited about making this our family home. I lived here full time last year when my flat was being renovated and have been here "part time" ever since. I don't know why I dragged my feet relinquishing my own place now- wish I'd done it ages ago (and certainly before I got pregnant!). Oh well, I'm all moved in now and resolutely ignoring all my boxes of junk which need unpacking thinking about where to put stuff. Luckily my spoilt brats tenants have been quiet the last few days so no stressed tears here today! sophia I definitely relate to your bus stop incident.

OwlinaTree · 20/04/2016 20:29

So glad it went well fizzy, what a relief.

Lovely 4D scan bear, you can see so much detail!

Glad all is going OK now pear and lily try to take it easy, I know it's difficult!

All is OK here, baby wiggling away, 23 weeks tomorrow. My 2yo has really got the idea that there's a baby in my tummy, he points and says 'baby der, baby der' it's so cute! Not sure what he'll make of it when he sees it though!

Still struggling with this pg, really trying to take a step back and enjoy it. I love the thought of another child, but I'm struggling with the lack of control over my body, and knowing that with 4 more months of pg plus breastfeeding I've probably got a year or so of this. Buying a few new maternity clothes has helped a bit, but still... If we have any more children, dh will have to carry them!

PickleBot · 20/04/2016 21:02

I'm glad to hear good news Fizzy and Pear. Lily time to rest up lovely x

Owlina I'm with you, I have to admit I hate being pregnant.

My little lady has decided to spend thus evening stabbing me in the cervix! How did she manage to get a skewer in there?

bexh83 · 20/04/2016 21:30

hiya, just caught up and started with Fizzy's first update, read through and so pleased it all worked out, how scary, im glad you were rushed to see a specilist, sounds like your doctor/midwifes did the right thing!!

I went away with work this fortnight, couldnt resist a couple of baby things while I was there - all still team yellow - which was so hard!!!
But caught a cold and it completely floored me - Im a late nighter early riser normally and I slept almost solidly for 4 days... then everything I took for it (the old paracetamol, mouthfull of cough mixture and a few throat sweets) gave me horrific indigestion.

Im in a not very sympathetic mood towards anyone who come into work with a sniffle from now on!

Got some lovely massive kicks going on, some I can see, but OH hasnt managed to feel a thing yet - sure he thinks im making them up!

quitecrunchy · 20/04/2016 22:26

Brilliant news Fizzy, what a massive relief for you!

Glad to have you back Pear, sorry to hear you've been through the mill but that's great that all's ok with the wee one. Hope you get an easier ride now to the end.

Bear amazing scan pictures! It just blows my mind... :D
