Not that I've noticed. Just been to the toilet again and nothing. What if it's an infection I've ignored and now it's affecting the baby? The stomach aches back but it's weird. I've only had an ice lolly to eat today as I feel sick but it doesn't feel like hunger pains. It's not period crampy, I can't explain it

Sophia1984 · 04/04/2016 20:03

Mslg My midwife isn't even bothering to weigh me when I see her - not sure why! I think unless you look noticeably skinnier/unhealthy it's not a big deal and they only worry about it if you have a very low or a very high BMI.If worried, you could always call your midwife and ask over phone.

Yeah - we're going to try and work shifts! He is more of a night owl than me any way and mainly works in the evening. One of my colleagues works from home and her husband looks after their son there, and she does find it really hard now he is a toddler as she has to hide from him! Think it's easier when they're tiny!

Christinedonna I would go to the GP as they can take a urine sample too and get it tested. Any treatment you would need would have to come through them - i'm guessing antibiotics. Don't worry too much but get it seen as soon as you can now :-)

Mslg · 04/04/2016 20:08

Christine sounds like it could be a UTI maybe? Can you make an apt for the morning and they'll give you antibiotics to sort it. Try not to worry though, it will be absolutely fine and also easily treated.

Sophia sounds like a good plan! My oh is a total night owl as well and 'works better at night' according to him so maybe it could work for us as well. Would definitely save on the childcare costs... 45 quid a day Hmm

Kstar8 · 04/04/2016 20:14

Mslg that's a wonderful bump you have there! You look great, I wouldn't worry too much about weight as long as you feel healthy. I've not weighed myself once so have no idea. It would be something else for me to worry over.

Still in a lot of pain. Went back to hospital late afternoon and had same checks performed by different doctors. They still aren't sure what it is but checks came back normal. They both just said that it can happen to lots of women and they don't always get to the bottom of why.
I think it might be a fibroid that's causing the pain. I have my scan tomorrow so as much as I'm excited to see the baby, I'm also intrigued to see if the fibroid has grown. Really want an explanation for the pain as there is no way this normal Sad

plimsolls · 04/04/2016 21:55

Thank you hgl and glencoco

Christinedonna · 04/04/2016 21:57

Turns out it was hunger! Eaten dinner and feel a lot better! Still worried about the discharge, it's gone to dark brown now. (Very small amount) but will try and get an appointment at the doctors tomorrow

Mslg · 05/04/2016 11:58

How are you today Christine? Did you manage to get an appointment?

Christinedonna · 05/04/2016 12:11

Nope there was no appointments available! I'm fine though (apart from the sickness). Having a lazy morning, lots of kicks and no discharge

Mslg · 05/04/2016 13:28

Good to hear Smile I got sick at work this morning, first time I've had nausea since about 14/15 weeks! 😫

Christinedonna · 05/04/2016 13:40

Mines never left me! I'm telling myself, a genius, adorable baby is harder to make! So every cramp, sickness, sleepless night is just proof that my body is making a perfect baby! It's going to take its toll

Biscuitswithtea · 05/04/2016 14:11

Hope everyone is doing okay.
Just back from midwife. Appt went absolutely fine (though it was the third midwife in as many appointments...) except that my urine sample was abnormal. No symptoms of bladder/kidney infection (except for backache which I've been putting down to pregnancy generally) so now keeping everything crossed that it's nothing. (I used to get kidney/uti problems a lot in my early-mid 20s) Ho hum :/

plimsolls · 05/04/2016 14:40

I'm in the middle of moving house. It's so tedious and tiring. I'm getting frustrated at not being able to get as much done in one go, not being able to shift heavy things, get things down off tall shelves.

Still, nearly done and I'm very much looking forward to getting our "family home" sorted.

I've got my glucose tolerance test thing for GD on Thursday morning. Fingers crossed.

Fizzyboo · 05/04/2016 15:26

Plimsolls, I feel that! Not moving, but totally doing up our place and its chaos! DH keeps stopping me climbing ladders and the like and I feel I'm slowing everything down! I even taped a roller onto a broom the other day so I could join in and paint the high bits!
I have my midwife appt next Friday where she is going to book me in for a GTT test, (my Bmi was 30) not looking forward to it AT ALL.

Sophia1984 · 05/04/2016 16:53

Biscuitswithtea I've had the same at both my midwife appointments, but when they've sent the sample away it's been fine. Apparently it can be that some skin cells get mixed in.

plimsolls and Fizzyboo I feel utterly useless to. My job has some physical elements that my colleague now does for me and I feel like such a spare part!

Went and bought our car seat with my mum today. Thoroughly recommend Halfords - really good customer service and they talk you through everything and show you how to fit it etc. Went for the Joie Stages, which will see him through to 7! My mum is hilarious - when I was a baby I'm pretty sure she just carried me on her knee or wedged a shopping basket behind the seat with me or something (only slightly joking!) so she doesn't understand why you shouldn't use a secondhand seat or why rear-facing till 4 is recommended ("But where will his legs go!?") Also had to tell her that I will need to get new mattresses for the secondhand Moses basket and cot she's sourced me - bless her.

Also spoke to line manager about my maternity cover and feel a lot more comfortable that they are actually thinking about what to do when I'm off!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 05/04/2016 18:01

Had my mystery extra scan today, finally! It turned out it was because I've had 3 MC, even though they weren't consecutive. It was a Doppler scan, looking at my blood flow through the uterine arteries, and it turns out one artery had high resistance (or something - she was absolutely crap at explaining anything!) so I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan with a consultant! The sonographer helpfully gave me no hint of the implications, etc. Am going to ring and try and bump my midwife appt a couple of weeks early so she can explain it all to me! Dr Google says it can (but doesn't necessarily) mean higher risk of IUGR and pre-eclampsia. Personally I think all will be fine, but I'm cross with the sonographer for failing to explain anything and leaving me at the mercy of Google!

Tessabelle74 · 05/04/2016 19:06

Hi all! Had my anomaly scan today, dead on 21 weeks and everything is healthy and growing as it should and as baby was cooperative we found out we're having a girl, 2 of each now, yay!

Sophia1984 · 05/04/2016 19:22

Great news Tessabelle74 smile

So sorry to hear about your losses GlenCoco and that the sonographer was so unhelpful. Even if you can't get an earlier midwife appointment, can you contact yours for a phone chat? Mine have an hour every morning where you can catch them at the office before they're out for the day. If it were something that needed addressing immediately or that put you or baby at immediate risk they would have told you x

OwlinaTree · 05/04/2016 22:22

Congrats on a girl Tessa.

Hope you are not worrying too much glenco, I hope the midwives can put your mind at rest over the high resistance artery. Knowledge is power as they say.

Chianablue · 05/04/2016 22:41

Hi everyone, umm is it OK if I join. I'm due Aug 30th and have my 20 week scan Tuesday. Feeling weird popping sensations at the moment so not sure if it's wind or I'm finally feeling the baby. Hope it's the baby.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 05/04/2016 23:21

London ladies - anything I can do in London tomorrow/Thursday solo and relaxing? Food/crafts/walking. I'm feeling overwhelmed with too much to choose from!

Mslg · 06/04/2016 14:16

Hi Chiana and welcome! Popping definitely sounds like baby, is this your first?

I was curious to know how often our babies are sleeping at this gestation, mine will be really quiet and then all of a sudden a spurt of thumps before going quiet again. Found this article on fetal development which I found interesting - www.leaderu.com/orgs/tul/psychtoday9809.html sharing for anyone else who would like a bit of afternoon reading!

Christinedonna · 06/04/2016 15:32

Have my midwife appointment tomorrow and I'm going to talk to her about the green discharge. Will she sort it out (swabs, tests etc) or will she tell me to call my GP? I don't look forward to talking to her as she's just a knob AND I always have a different trainee midwife sitting in on appointments, I feel as though I should be asked if I'm okay with that? Don't need more people than necessary knowing about my problems! But anyway. I've done a bit of research today and it says that it's commonly a sign of a UTI. Maybe I'm naive but I only associated a UTI with painful weeing/stinging/ needing to go more. I haven't got that, just the discharge. What will they do for a UTI? Hopefully not just tell me to let it pass, I miss my clean, pretty knickers! And this has stopped us DTD for weeks

Mslg · 06/04/2016 15:57

Christine they'll give you antibiotics to get rid of it. Definitely mention it to her, it's important that it's treated. I had indications of an infection a few weeks ago (GP found leucocytes in my urine) but apart from that, I wouldn't have known I had one. Turns out I may or may not have had a GBS infection, they can't tell for sure incase my urine was contaminated. Anyway, I was treated with a weeks course of amoxicillin. Please don't suffer a strange discharge any longer regardless if you have any other symptoms.

Christinedonna · 06/04/2016 16:14

Oh no il definitely sort it. Just hoping she can do it rather than me being passed around

PickleBot · 06/04/2016 16:15

I have 2 observations to share with you.

1)This baby us either a dancer or musician as slightest bit of music and she's wiggling away in there! Grin

  1. I really don't like being pregnant. I want a baby for sure, but I really dislike actually being pregnant!
