I'm so sorry JW. Ellie had such a beautiful smile. As I said, I'm in Newcastle, so if there is anything I can do to help up here, just let me know. I don't know if you are religious and wouldn't want to impose, but Quakers talk about 'holding in the light' and I'm holding you and your family in the light today xxx

hgleslie89 · 31/03/2016 13:18

My thoughts are with you and your family JW and I'm also holding you in the light.
As an aside, it's nice to encounter another Quaker on here Sophia!

Suziesome1 · 31/03/2016 15:47

Jw, I'm so sorry, xx

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 31/03/2016 15:51

Jw so sorry to hear your sad news. Take comfort together as a family.

Jw35 · 31/03/2016 17:36

Thanks. She had a son 13 years ago who died age 3 months of cot death. Maybe he needed her more than we did? I'm so numb. Baby moving all day and reminding me how life goes on regardless. She will have Eleanor as a middle name now. It's a small thing but comforting to me. My mum gave her my message last night before she died, a little saying we used to use. Apparently she could hear even though she was unconscious. That means I said goodbye even though I couldn't be there x

LotsofDots · 31/03/2016 17:53

jw so sorry to hear about the death of your sister. She was beautiful, and I can't imagine what it must be like to lose someone so close to you. Thinking of you and all your family x

bexh83 · 31/03/2016 18:44

Im so sorry JW, for you, her partner and kids. I hope you find a little comfort in feeling your little girl moving about! xx

Dots, Sophia, Pickle, Lily* - thank you for your advice on my night time pains - mid-wife appt. pulled forward and matress protector arriving tommorrow. I really appreciate the ideas.

Dileas29 · 31/03/2016 19:56

jw I'm so sorry to hear, we are here for you when you need to talk. What a beautiful sister I can't imagine what you are going through. Lots of hugs ThanksThanksThanks

PickleBot · 31/03/2016 20:54

Jw there is nothing I can say, but I'm thinking of you and I've shed a tear for you. Don't beat yourself up about how you should be feeling, your love for her was genuine and strong and you need to grieve in your own time and at your own pace. Will you be able to go up to your family? xxxx

Lily how are you doing today?

My pelvis is still killing me today. It's right at the front which is embarrassing! It really hurts when I have to start walking, change direction or stand on one leg for anything. I'm away next week but after that I need to get some physiotherapy!

Picklebot The physio I saw yesterday said an icepack was most effective for er.. frontal pelvic pain! My back is really bad this last couple of days :-(

lilygirl81 · 31/03/2016 23:02

pickle I'm actually doing pretty good. I had my scan and cervix has lengthened so the immediate danger is over! Still cramping but that might just be my new normal, so much more hopeful that I may get to term after all. I get checked again in a couple of weeks but fingers crossed that's the last of my pregnancy stresses. The only bad thing was my mobility issues got noticed and I'm now meant to wear the sexy compression stockings all the time. No idea how that will work since I wear skirts to work, but never mind.

Christinedonna · 01/04/2016 10:43

Didn't feel right to post yesterday with jw's news.
We had our scan yesterday. Everything is fine and normal. Little LADY had her feet crossed like she was sunning it up! Then moved to lay on her tummy so i had to lay on my left and cough to move her back (that impressed me). I feel like she looks like me! Definitely has my lips. The sonographer asked do you want to know the sex? And the OH said "yes!" Before I could blink. Although I'm a bit disappointed the man was like "well the legs are together, so it's hard to tell. There's definitely no boy bits on show so unless they're hiding it's a girl" was expecting a definite "it's a girl!". I said "so would you say it's a girl?" And he said yes so threw caution to the wind and brought pink bits anyway. If it's a boy he'll just be in touch with his feminine side haha!

Basketofwool · 01/04/2016 11:05

Congratulations Christine! How lovely.
I think I remember guessing from your 12 week scan you were having a girl Smile

Christinedonna · 01/04/2016 11:21

Yeah everyone guessed girl!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 01/04/2016 11:35

Aww congrats Christine! Girls are fab Grin (as are boys of course)!
lily that's brilliant that your cervix has lengthened again, stupidly I didn't even realise that could happen! Everything crossed for you that little miss stays in there til she's fully cooked. I'm sure if you 'accidentally forget' the sexy stockings every time a few times then it won't matter too much.

All good here, enjoying the nice middle bit of pg and feeling lucky to be having an easy ride thus far. Was about 27/28 weeks with DD when sciatica kicked in so making the most of this bit! Feel absolutely enormous though. Already developing a hint of waddle. 23 weeks today - 1 more week to viability!

Fizzyboo · 01/04/2016 12:25

ah christine I got a 'probably a girl' too... It's left me a bit weird like I don't know for sure either way! Luckily I get a bonus scan in 2 weeks as wriggly babe avoided some other measurements too so I get a second go!

So relieved for you lily that all is righting itself! Great news!

Christinedonna · 01/04/2016 12:33

I've brought a 4d scan that I'm hoping to book ASAP just to know 100%

Jw35 · 01/04/2016 14:36

Congrats Christine! Thanks for considering me like that bless you Smile I'm feeling ok today! I'm trying to do normal things so went to the cinema. It's going to be a long road but I just want to thank you all for your kind wishes when I told you my sister was ill. Life has to go on now and I'm really excited to be having my baby Smile it's good to have something to look forward to. I may not be on here for a while, horrible things to do like the funeral etc. see you all in a while x

strandedabroad · 01/04/2016 14:54

Thinking of you JW. So sorry for you and your family.

Lily so glad to hear, please take care of yourself!

Christine how lovely. Congrats!

I put coconut oil in my bath last night. Oh my God. If any of you has dry skin, please try it! Smile

strandedabroad · 01/04/2016 14:56

Oh and Coco, you look fantastic. I am ENORMOUS. Will upload a photo in a mo!

strandedabroad · 01/04/2016 14:58

Here. I'm the size of a house already! 3 weeks ago I could still hide it! It's all happened overnight Grin

squigglepants · 01/04/2016 15:05

JW sending you peace at this difficult time

I too had my 20 week scan yesterday and my little one was quite happy to show off the goods! Typical boy flashing it around. My kids and the baby's dad all came with me so I let them choose the three pictures. 7 year old son asked the sonographer for a photo of the bits! Fortunately she said no lol Everything else was all good. Here is a bump picture too, taken two weeks ago at 18 weeks, pretty sure he's going to be a big one, one foot was measured yesterday at 3cm !!

jw looking forward to hearing from a happier you! Best of luck with everything.
Il upload a bump picture later when I'm ready for work. I tend to stay in my PJs for aslong as possible these days!

MrsZumbaDancer · 01/04/2016 16:19

Scan today all went well. The sonographer had a senior fetal medicine registrar with her so was explaining everything she was looking for, fascinating Smile
Still firmly team yellow!

Sophia1984 · 01/04/2016 16:42

Great news Zumba After all the worrying, I absolutely loved my 20 week scan and feel so much closer to baby now. Are you intentionally team yellow or was baby being shy?
