I don't even remember delivering my placenta, had the injection and think it was delivered whilst I was too busy snuggling DS. Dh had a look at it though! Shock

LotsofDots · 28/03/2016 20:20

Sounds awful bex I had a Dream genii pillow last time that was good. I am cursing it at the moment though as I have lent it to someone in the last 5 years though and can't remember who, would quite like it back!

Sophia1984 · 28/03/2016 20:48

I'd give your midwife a call bex - I have been having lower back pain and mine has referred me to a back pain clinic for pregnant woman at the hospital. Apparently it's a group physio session where we'll be taught exercises to help. I could hardly sleep last night as I was getting pain in between my shoulder blades :-(

PickleBot · 28/03/2016 21:17

bex maybe a memory foam mattress topper? I'm hoping dh's private health insurance will cover physio. My hips and pelvis are starting to hurt.

Got my 24 week appointment booked for 22+5. Will that be ok or do I need to push it back? The midwife's only in my area once a week, which is a pain.

lilygirl81 · 29/03/2016 15:18

bex I hope you get some help. A mattress topper really helps me with my chronic hip pain, so could well make s difference to you.

I'm interested by the changing bag chat, I'll be looking into that in a couple of weeks.

I'm back home, there was little point staying in hospital much longer as they really can't do anything else. I'm back on Thursday to the ante-natal clinic but am meant to be getting another cervical length scan to check it's not still shortening. Only problem is there are no scan spaces! Apparently they might just do it at the clinic, but I'm worried they won't be able to. I don't think I can relax until I know the stitch is working, I'm still cramping so I really need to know my cervix is behaving.

On the nice news front, my sister and her twins are doing great. The babies are still in special care, but taking milk now and are off the breathing masks.

plimsolls · 29/03/2016 15:32

lily really good to hear from you- I've been wondering how you are. I'm sending 'behave yourself' vibes to your cervix and have my fingers crossed you can get the scan when you go in.

Hello everyone else. I've been reading and not posting, but glad to keep seeing updates!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 29/03/2016 17:02

Good to hear you are home lily! Hope that everything has gone well and you manage to get another scan sorted.

I've got a new symptom this week - an embarrassing one! My boobs have started leaking, especially at night. I could not work out why my pj tops were getting wet until last night when it dawned on my its my boobs. Anybody else? It feels early for this - I'm only 21 + 1.

Sophia1984 · 29/03/2016 17:12

Is anyone else getting Braxton Hicks yet? I don't know if that's what this is, or if it is just baby moving and kicking, but my belly keeps feeling tight and low. No pain, cramping or bleeding. It's not even uncomfortable, I just feel very aware of it. Do I need to call anyone or is this normal? Baby's kicks are so strong he woke me up last night!

Sophia1984 · 29/03/2016 17:15

Alfie Is it definitely milk? I'm having horrendous night sweats and am definitely wet under my boobs.

OwlinaTree · 29/03/2016 20:04

Glad you are back home lily, hope all is well.

I had leaky boobs in last pgs, but not till about 30 ish weeks.

Feeling fed up today. Basically halfway through, feel massive, tired, skin and hair awful, boobs are sore and fed up of all my clothes. I know I'm so lucky to be pg, but I'm really struggling today for some reason. Must be the hormones - I need a good cry!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 29/03/2016 20:04

Yeah it definitely is, tmi but I can squeeze my nipple a little bit and more comes out. I'm not sure it's milk really though, it's quite clear bit leaves a creamy mark so I think that maybe it's colostrum?
Either way I'm feeling decidedly unsexy!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/03/2016 21:15

Sophia when I was pg with DD it was totally surreal that I would have a baby at the end of it. I just couldn't get my head round it, couldn't equate the enormous bump with an actual tiny human! Even after labour and all the rest it took a while to get used to - for the first few weeks I kept expecting someone to knock on the door and say I'd had my turn and it was time to pass her on to someone else!
I'm having Braxton Hicks here and there too, not very strong yet though. Completely normal, don't worry!
Christine honestly, don't spend the next 4 months worrying about the placenta! You'll be so busy with baby that you'll hardly think about it. I had a physiological third stage (so no injection to speed up delivery of placenta) and mine was a bit stubborn but I gave exactly zero fucks, I was half out of it and totally taken up with DD.
hgl that'll be fine for your 24w appt. They'll check your wee and BP, have a quick look at how your 20w scan went, listen in to baby, maybe measure your tummy and just have a general chat. Def no need to reschedule.
lily glad you're home and resting, sending you lots of 'stay closed' telepathic waves! Everything crossed all goes smoothly now, and hopefully they sort out the scan. Lovely that your sister and the babies are doing well!
Alfie I leaked for weeks too, not quite this early but it was very annoying! Breast pads are your friend from now on Grin

Anyone else popped recently? 22+4 and I feel MASSIVE. I'm going to be enormous! Will try and get a bump pic up in a bit (when I can be arsed to move off the sofa and take one). Slightly worried I've got a 10lber on board. Still getting loads of movement though which is lovely, starting to notice baby's patterns and habits now too!

ToElleWithIt · 30/03/2016 08:08

Glad your out lily what a fright. Hope that a scan spot frees up for you.

Christine don't worry about the placenta. Midwives asked me beforehand did I want it boak and I told them I didn't want anything to do with it so they just whisked it away. I barely remember it being delivered because I was too occupied with DS.

Just to confuse matters I'll say that I hated my changing bag - so plastic-y and twee so I ended up just using my handbag and a little folding mat that had a zip pocket for a couple of nappies and wipes. I didn't have a puker though so that helped cut down on the paraphernalia.

Had our scan last Thursday, all perfect - phew. Still team yellow.

OwlinaTree · 30/03/2016 09:12

Congrats on a good scan Elle

LotsofDots · 30/03/2016 10:37

Quick post to say did you know that ASDA have a baby event on at the moment, lots of good reductions on nappies wipes baby monitors etc.

PickleBot · 30/03/2016 12:54

Glad you are back at home Lily. Fingers crossed for a scan spot, although in my experience they seem to become avaliable for those who really need them so I'm sure it will be fine.

I took DS to legoland yesterday with one of his buddies and his mum. We had a super fun day, but my God I can hardly move today, my pelvis is agony.

I was in bed crying with my back this morning. Is anyone else having a lot of back pain? And found anything that helps? Maybe minus the OH massaging you as he's useless

Sophia1984 · 30/03/2016 15:38

I've got a bad back Christine - my midwife referred me to the local hospital physio dept which does a group session for pregnant woman with back pain. They gave us some exercises to do and suggestions on how to do things like get in and out of cars/bed/bath without aggravating it. I also find a warm bath or hot water bottle helps. And they said paracetamol is absolutely fine to take :-)

Christinedonna · 30/03/2016 16:21

I've got my anomaly scan tomorrow so may shop for a nice bath bomb after and try a warm bath. I've not taken any medication since being pregnant, I just really don't want to so will prolong trying paracetamol for aslong as possible!

Dileas29 · 30/03/2016 17:12

christine back pain here too! On and off thankfully so a relief it isn't getting worse...yet!

Okay just putting it out there...has anyone totally gone off DTD and feeling really bad for husband?

waves hand

    • i am!
Christinedonna · 30/03/2016 17:17

Yep! Up until this point I've been sex crazy. But now I'm just tired and I ache and feel sicky. Plus you have to get up after and clean yourself up, you have to take your comfy pjs off, then try and get comfy after while they fall straight to sleep. I'm just all about comfort. I practically live in pjs and OH hates my pregnancy pillow as it means he can't cuddle me but right now after almost 6 months of feeling uncomfortable and sick and now with the back pains and sides aching and lack of sleep I don't care. I come first. Excuse the pun haha!

Kstar8 · 30/03/2016 17:20

Dileas I'm in your club Sad feel like I'm dead downstairs. This is what happened to me when I tried the implant for a few months but had to have it removed as it made me hate sex/intimacy. I still enjoy cuddling (unlike whilst on implant) but feel completely asexual. Husband is very good and says he doesn't mind but I miss that side of our relationship.

Jw35 · 30/03/2016 17:26

My sisters gone downhill. Currently in life support Sad she caught an infection from the chemo and other complications. It's touch and go Sad can't believe it. Was hoping she was going to recover. So shocked and confused!

Christinedonna · 30/03/2016 17:28

I'm so sorry to hear that jw. Fingers crossed for you! Just remember things always get worse before they get better. Hopefully soon she'll be back to her healthy self
