Oh lily! Your uterus is a pain! Still sending positive vibes for you xx
Argos baby event have one of those long pillows on offer at £6.99, I've got one but not needing it yet, make sure you have the baby event leaflet to hand though as it comes up at £9.99 on the till!
Happy easter everyone x

I have solved my nappy bag problem. Last time I could never fit all my stuff in a normal nappy bag. Cloth nappies, many changes of clothes for my incredible puking child and bottle feeding made for a mountain of stuff I couldn't fit in. Thus time I'm ditching the nappy bag and have just ordered an eastpak messenger bag! I will fit in all the things!. I also just ordered all the little bits and bobs I need to replace like bottle brushes and muslin cloths. I'm starting to feel almost prepared! Just the small matter of redecorating the spare room for ds to move into!

Hope you are all having a chocolate filled day!

It will fit all the things you remember to pack pickle but you know that you will still leave something behind on every occasion... (Or I will!)

Yes that's true!

I feel like it's just hit me this last week that I'm (hopefully) going to have a real life, actual baby at the end of all of this. I know that sounds strange but, after an early miscarriage in August and a lot of anxiety, it's like it's just dawned on me that 40 weeks isn't when I stop worrying! Having a bit of a freak out here TBH. I have lots of support from friends who have babies already, on here, my mum close by, and my DP who has nieces and nephews so has more experience than me, but I am feeling absolutely terrified! It gets worse when thinking about what to buy, or going shopping for maternity/baby stuff, or when thinking about maternity leave, or when looking through my diary at all my appointments (back pain clinic, CBT, psychiatrist, consultant, extra scan at 32 weeks, anti-D jab....) - argh! (I have come off my anti-depressants, which may explain some of this!)

OwlinaTree · 27/03/2016 20:18

It does seem to hit you like a wave every now and then, doesn't it? I completely know what you mean Sophia, I have a 2yo, but every time I see a woman with a new born I think, wow, how small is that! How will I cope with two? What am I doing?

I'm hoping this is a normal reaction and all will be fine when the baby comes along.

I feel your pain pickle re changing bags, I will be back to discuss shortly.

Tessabelle74 · 27/03/2016 20:24

I'm having my fourth and as my youngest has just started school I'm worried I've forgotten everything I need to know!! I think it's normal to panic but we'll all cope in the end 👌

OwlinaTree · 27/03/2016 20:24

So changing bags. I have an oyster buggy, so not a huge basket underneath. I have a nappy bag that hangs from the handlebars. Problem is, I want to use a buggy board for my then 2.5yo, and I won't be able to use both. Also, 2yo not currently showing any signs of toilet training, so will probably have two lots of nappies!

I think I'm going to need a rucksack!

MrsZumbaDancer · 27/03/2016 20:54

owlina my 2yo also showing no signs so think I'll have 2 lots! My skip hop bag is huge and loads of compartments, def using it again!

Sophia1984 · 27/03/2016 20:58

Owlina My friend uses a small rucksack and finds it a lot more convenient. If you use a sling it also balances you out!

OwlinaTree · 27/03/2016 22:33

I use a little rucksack at the mo, fits in what I need, nappies, lunch etc, but wouldn't fit 2 lots in. Could use that plus a small bag in the basket I suppose, or be very selective about what I bring.

Jw35 · 27/03/2016 23:35

I use a carb kidston handbag, it's got 2 pockets on the front like a satchel which is perfect for bottles. My toddler is outgrowing the need for a change bag now and ready for a little backpack so won't need a bag for 2 babies thank goodness! I just came to bed and realised I'm starving! I seem to be hungry all the time!

Hello...

Gonna catch up for a bit and get back into posting. Tbh I've had a rough time bonding with this pregnancy and until very recently haven't been thinking about having a baby at all, despite TTC and this being a very wanted third baby. Weird.

19 weeks now and feeling the baby move, finally not fitting into my jeans, the onset of SPD (JOY!) has made it all very convincing Grin and I'm starting to get excited.

Hope you all don't mind me joining in after so long.

Christinedonna · 28/03/2016 13:13

On the subject of things hitting you and a sudden panic. Mines a little odd. Labour, delivery, the whole thing hasn't bothered or panicked me once. But the night before last I had a dream about delivering the placenta and last night at work one of the women told me about how they press on your tummy, ask you to do a little push and pull it out and put it in a kidney dish infront of you. The thought of it is really scaring me. I've just been thinking of delivering the baby and it being over. Has anyone got any stories of them delivering the placenta?

OwlinaTree · 28/03/2016 13:59

You can have an injection to deliver it quickly. I'm sure if you said you didn't want to see it they would keep it away from you.

OwlinaTree · 28/03/2016 14:00

You don't fancy a lotus birth then? Grin

Sophia1984 · 28/03/2016 14:04

I've been exactly the same Christine - not worried about labour one bit, but have started thinking about it more now I know there's a small chance I might need a C-section if placenta doesn't move.

I had a dream that my pet (male) cockatiel had a chick! and also that I was pregnant with my ex's baby! (Yeah, not sleeping too well at minute...)

I heard that delivering the placenta isn't at all painful, but that it can be a funny sensation because of the texture of it :-) Apparently when my mum had my brother, the midwife held up the placenta and said 'that's the most beautiful placenta I've ever seen!' Have you tried reading/listening to things about hypnobirthing? I've found understanding what my body is going to be doing in terms of hormones and muscles really helpful. You will instinctively push the placenta out.

hgleslie89 · 28/03/2016 14:34

Hi ooh!

I feel like it still hasn't clicked that I'm having a baby. I'm happy with my body changing, we're preparing for its arrival and we've even got names picked. But still it doesn't quite feel real. I'm really excited though, it's all quite confusing.

Tbh I haven't really thought about labour yet as I have a tendency to overthink and panic myself. We've got antenatal classes booked for May so hopefully my head will be in the right place at that point.

Christinedonna · 28/03/2016 14:37

My midwife wrote in my notes that I'm interested in taking part in breastfeeding classes before baby is here. Really? Don't recall saying that! She also wrote that my early symptoms included constipation. She plucks random stuff from thin air i swear!

Christinedonna · 28/03/2016 14:39

Does the midwife that does your appointments have anything to do with your birth?

Biscuitswithtea · 28/03/2016 14:49

I have little recollection of delivering placenta after DS. Compared to pushing a baby out, the placenta was a bit uncomfortable and quick. Certainly not to be worried about!

OohMavis · 28/03/2016 14:55

hgleslie glad it's not just me Smile

Christine no, community midwives usually stay within the community and rarely venture into hospital wards. If you're having a homebirth you could see the same one, but that depends on how it's organised in your area.

Christinedonna · 28/03/2016 14:58

Thank god! No way could I tolerate her

bexh83 · 28/03/2016 19:06

My midwife "team" seem so under-resourced I wouldnt be surprised if they wrote everything wrong. First appointment triple booked, it seemed to be one or the other of us at fault...second was 1.15hrs late - I missed a full mornings work. Neither worked in my local area so im hoping next time its someone I can learn their name. Was surprised a lady on here could text hers!

bexh83 · 28/03/2016 19:10

Im suffering and wondered if anyone had some advice? .... I cant sleep for more than 15-20 minutes blocks without my hips and things feeling so sore and painfull, like they have gone numb with aches.

Ive tried pillow between legs, under legs and last couple of nights something called IT band stretches having googled at 4am in despair, so far its not got better. This has been happening for the last 3wks.

Good practice for the baby, but not while im working long hours and worrying it will get worse!
