Wow Liath your wee one is so gorgeous!! And how skinny are you only a couple of days from giving birth??! (in advance)

Pesha - they are topshop maternity, I´ve got another pair that have the elastic in the pockets so they look like normal jeans. They´re great and I have met many a non-pregnant woman who wants a pair!

Loving all the edinburgh/bathgate etc. talk. Lived in Edinburgh for 7 years and went to uni there and my ex of 6 years was from Livingston..so nice to hear about all these familiar places.

glitterkitty..just write \link{then write the whole url here \and here after the backslash write what it is or just write ´here´} just cut and paste this and then copy the url where I´ve said and leave the description if you want, you´ll soon see.

mammyjo, thanks..the fact is I know it´s a lot to gain but you can tell by the history that it´s hardly a usual thing and from common sense you would just think she would be more tactful about it.

sorry if I forgot anyone..

Hi everyone, just gatecrashing from the June thread to invite anyone who's interested to join the all-new, cross-thread ante-natal fitness club. Quick intro:

Some of us on the June thread wanted to get together and give each other some support and motivation for a bit of exercise in pregnancy, and, not wanting to disturb others on our thread who just wanted to chill out in peace, thanks, thought it'd be a good idea to set up a new thread for everyone on the ante-natal threads, all welcome.

We're not talking marathon training or anything here, but it would be great to have a place where we could share our experiences of exercise in all stages of pregnancy, swap tips and links, and gently motivate each other when we might be flagging a bit. I for one am in serious need of it, having spent xmas doing nothing more strenuous than chewing on quality streets.

So, who's up for it? Step right this way!

hotlipsmummy · 10/01/2007 16:19

Maveta - just wanted to add to comments that we don't get weighed here in the UK anymore - its seen as largely irrelevant! Plus I did read somewhere that there is proportionally more weight gain in the 2nd trimester partic if you were a morning sickness sufferer. So ignore your mw and the last thing you should do when pg is diet!!!

Personally am like mammyjo and only gained half a stone or so. But am way too fat to start with - with DS didn't gain much until the last few weeks and then piled it on. Ended up a stone heavier than I was before I had him and never lost it no chance now

geordiemacminx · 10/01/2007 16:20

HA!!!!!! Get to 25 weeks and then see bow you feel about exercise... it take all my energy to climb the stairs!!! I couldnt run a bath at the moment never mind anything else!!!

hotlipsmummy · 10/01/2007 16:22

my sentiments exactly! But then my pg yoga classes start tonight... does that count??

Emmymummy · 10/01/2007 16:26

Am loving the photos...

Liath, can't believe you look so small just before giving birth. Not fair. Will have to scan in a pic of me just before popping last time - huge is not the word. And your little girl is just delicious!

Also checked out the spider naevus thing - it could be that, but not sure if its got the raditating bits as its on my back and I can't really see it properly. Have booked an appt with the GP next week, so hopefully he can shed some light as the mw didn't have a clue (apart from the normal line about skin tags).

Maveta - you are teeny tiny. You look slimmer than I do normally so I'm sure you've got nothing to worry about.

Will try to attch some pics in a minute. Problem is I hate all photos of me, and you all look so glam!

Emmymummy · 10/01/2007 16:34

Ok here goes...

I'm Claire (36), married to Mark (36). Our little girl is Emily who'll be 5 in May. Live near Guildford, Surrey. Mark also used to be in the army (RHA / Paras) but fortunately he's now left (although the uniforms were yummy).

this is me and Emily

runnyhabbit · 10/01/2007 16:39

Maveta - at your mw. She'd say the same thing to me - I'm 5'7" and have put on 1 stone 4lb. The only reason I know its that amount is because when I visit mum, I use her scales. More for curiosity than anything else. Didn't have much of appetite before that. It's all bump. From the back you can't tell I'm pregnant. When I get around to putting my photo up, you'll see what I mean.

Liath - what a cutie

EllieK · 10/01/2007 16:43

for doginsantasgrotto

hope you dont mind hun, you just needed to add \link{ before your http bit, and \doginsantasgrotto} after (or replace with whatever description you wish!

liath · 10/01/2007 16:45

Honestly, Maveta, your midwife sounds bonkers - you look great in your photo & you wouldn't be weighed in the UK anyway. I'd ignore it - what a way to undermine a woman's confidence, makes me very .

Lovely to put some names to faces, everyone looks fantastic & really blooming (we maight not feel it but never mind!).

EllieK · 10/01/2007 17:01

I'm in the UK and I get weighed!!!!!
midwife at booking in appt told me that at 5'4" and 10st I was on the overweight line of the chart!
have only been once since as cant be arsed with it!

EllieK · 10/01/2007 17:03

my ds (Matthew, 3) wants to see the red and blue faces so here goes!
I'm Ellen, 24 (25 in Feb) and we live in Suffolk

EllieK · 10/01/2007 17:08

WARNING - TMI ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pesha's posting last night, just emailed this sentence to Stephen (new man),
'Elliek - great news on new man prob bit early in the relationship to ask him to trim your ladyforest for you?! Unless you made it part of the fun Asked dp to trim mine he said eww no! so he'll lick it but wont go there with a pair of scissors!! Sorry is that tmi?! Am in one of those moods tonight, sorry'

and got this in response -
you won't let me l*ck yours so will you let me trim?!!

what have I started!

AngeG · 10/01/2007 17:17

EllieK - that's hilarious. Think you should let him lick it though!!Fantastic that he'll help you out with a trim!!!

All these photos are wonderful. You and your children all look gorgeous. Will try and post some pictures of us. Didn't have any photos of me taken pg last time.

For now I'm Angela...no surprise (27, 28 in Feb)Husband Allen (41) Son Jake (3) and 2 step daughters Cassie(16) and Leah (12)

I would also like to echo someone else's thoughts from earlier, that this is a truly wonderful antenatal group. I love knowing you're all here.

Had mw app today and everything looking fine. Interesting that I had a growth scan last week which shows that babe is about average, but the height of the fundus thing only measured 25cm and I'm 27+3wks. Just goes to show how inaccurate the measuring of the fundus is.

Will check back later xx

Pesha · 10/01/2007 17:18

Have got as far as mavetas rant post about mw and have to post before i read anymore. That is absolutely the most ridiculous load of crap i have ever heard she is talking complete bollocks and i am livid on your behalf. I have gained about 1 and half stone and am 26 weeks but i know of people who gain 4 stone or more in pregnancy. everyones different. From your picture you dont look like theres a spare oz of fat on you anyway ffs. tell her to fuck off! sorry but really And even if if you had put on a bit of extra weight and were carrying a bit of fat as well as bump thats up to you, its your problem, its perfectly normal, it doesnt matter at all infact is healthy and natural as body lays down fat reserves ready for bfing and will all be lost afterwards if thats whats wanted. Pregnancy is not the time to be worrying about weight gain. I havent been weighed once by a mw or dr they dont care cos it doesnt matter!!!

Dont pay any attention, you are beautiful

littlefrog · 10/01/2007 17:20

Hello everyone, sounds like things are good for most - Maveta, your midwife sounds mad! I do weigh myself at the midwife appointments (no scales at home) and was a bit depressed to see that I'm now more than a stone and a half heavier than I was pre-pregnancy (started at 9.5 stone, and 5'10") - but she didn't seem bothered at all. Down with foolish midwives!

other than that hope everyone's well. I'm just getting over a horrible cold - off work today for the first time in ages and ages. Scan tomorrow morning (glad I just reminded myself of that!) so keep your fingers crossed for me...

doginsantasgrotto · 10/01/2007 17:23

thanks elliek! Yay!

doginsantasgrotto

at mw comments to Maveta. I haven't even weighed myself but seems ridiculous to be told to diet whilst pg.

doginsantasgrotto · 10/01/2007 17:32

trying again

Pesha · 10/01/2007 17:43

LMAO Liath You should let him do both! Although maybe the trim first, depending how overgrown your forest is, dont want him getting lost!!
Oh and 5'4, 10stone - overweight?! Er no, i was 11 stone and 5'5 pre pg and my BMI was within normal (although i was still trying to lose another stone or so) or maybe that was when i was 10 and a half it was normal anyway 10 is fine, Silly bloody midwives!

All pics are lovely. Liath my bump is bigger than that now !!

Ok not sure what this will be if its just one pic of um i think it was maia or if it will bring up access to all my pics.
Maia?

I am suzanne/suzy, 28, dp is jamie 26, and have Maia 6.2 and nathan 3.5. We live in yeovil somerset although I am originally from Maidstone kent (who just said they live there??)

liath · 10/01/2007 17:48

eek, Pesha - wasn't planning to let DH anywhere near mine, either with a tongue or scissors .

weeonion · 10/01/2007 17:49

yeah - well done dogingrotto!

maveta. i have put on nearly 2 stone. talked to mw about it today and she was lovely - not worried about that at all and as pesha said - soem people put on near near 4 stone. u r feel trim in yr pic and whilst not a mw - what the heck is she worrying about.
wipe those tears from earlier and get dp to give u a nice massage / trim/ lick - whatever will make you feel better about yrself......

weeonion · 10/01/2007 17:52

pesha - what a cutie
