I've already had it last week

It was boring

But DC4 for me so nothing much is new OT different!

Did you not have yours yet?

Alwaysinahurrynow · 13/03/2016 11:45

I'm paying £595 for Harmony including the scan which is basically to check the dates. There isn't much competition up here so think it actually might be cheaper in London. I did!'t have it for DC1&2, but the lowest result I got on Nuchal was 1 in 75,000, but as my natural odds are now down to less than 1 in 400, I decided it was worth paying to get more information. My NHS midwife said if that result comes back as high risk then to get in touch as even if the Nuchal does not.

Planeteer · 13/03/2016 12:39

Mine's not til 24th when I'll be 10 weeks. It's my first so am super impatient to find out how everything works, haha.

FuzzyOwl · 13/03/2016 12:51

I still don't have any symptoms and have currently decided against having an early scan on the basis of ignorance being bliss. I hate the first trimester so much!

Afreshstartplease · 13/03/2016 14:01

I think I will keep feeling like there might be nothing there until I see baby on the screen

Even though this is DC4
Even though I have plenty of symptoms
Even though I have never had any complications

The wait is agony

MrsMermaid · 13/03/2016 14:45

indiX I had terrible pain in my lower back a week or two ago for about 5 days. I am 12 weeks today. It didn't really stop me from doing anything but had to walk strangely and with a lot of pain. I put it down to everything moving around and stretching out. Am fine now!

Hope everyone is keeping well. I can't wait to get out of this first trimester bollocks and onto the second trimester of apparently feeling great! I really really can't wait to tell all our little mates too! It's killing me to discuss dresses for all of their weddings in the summer without mentioning that mine is going to have to be twice the size. Thank goodness I'm not a bridesmaid this year!

pod100 · 13/03/2016 18:35

Same here, this first trimester is a bit shit really! I keep reading about things which makes my mind wander and worry. I want to buy new clothes but it's pointless as nothing will fit, I keep feeling tired which means the housework piles up, I can't be bothered with cooking much which is annoying as its one of my favourite things to do, and this afternoon I've had weird crampy pains in my lower stomach with occasional sharp twinges. Apparently it can be the uterus stretching? No sign of blood so I'm not worrying too much but it's been a bit uncomfortable. Bloody typical too when I could have had an early scan this afternoon which would have really reassured me, but hubby was working so wouldn't have been able to come.

IndiX · 13/03/2016 19:15

Pod you sound like me. Tbh I've felt a lot better the last couple of days I'm 9+5, but I can totally understand everything you've said. I had a lot of cramps earlier on, I wouldn't worry it's just your uterus stretching and everything is changing down there.

Blueskygirl30 · 13/03/2016 19:36

I've had some cramping too. Mostly really early on. But the amount of change going on in and around the uterus is be amazed if you felt nothing. The other night in bed I was lying on my back and I let out a mighty sneeze and got the most intense cramping from one side to the other across my lower abdomen. I thought I might have sneezed the fetid right out of there!! I googled it and think it was maybe round ligament pain or something similar. Hopefully anyway! I curl into a ball before sneezing now!!

Blueskygirl30 · 13/03/2016 19:36

*fetus, not fetid!!!

FuzzyOwl · 13/03/2016 19:47

Sneezing and coughing hurt me as well and I also agree that twinges or pain that comes and goes is a good thing, despite how worrying it is.

IrregularCommentary · 13/03/2016 20:28

Yep, sneezing/coughing/nose blowing can all make me quite twingy. Great fun when you've had a cold all week!

Been thinking most of the day that I'm finally feeling better and more human. Then started feeling a bit queasy but mainly ignored it. Bent down to plug the light in and immediately threw up. Great!

Furble · 13/03/2016 20:46

Good evening all! I hope I'm not too late to be joining the gang.
I'm 31, expecting #1, edd 5th Oct, 10+4 today and starting to get very excited for dating scan on 29th March.
I feel like the first few weeks of pregnancy were desperately long and drawn out but now finally the fog seems to be starting to lift, starting to feel a bit more myself again and like time is starting to pass a bit more normally again!
Has anyone else started to feel a bit better around 10 weeks?

LisaTheGreek · 13/03/2016 20:55

Welcome Furble!

I'm exactly the same as you - 10+4, due 5th Oct!

Not feeling much better just yet, but hopeful it won't be long. I've found that sea bands really help, but I still really struggle with the evenings in particular, when the sickness always gets really bad.

Glad you're feeling a bit more normal. Hope you're out of the worst of it.

My scan isn't until 13 weeks. Roll on second trimester!

Furble · 13/03/2016 20:59

Oh how cool exactly the same dates that's amazing, LisatheGreek!

Do you find yourself giving up and going to bed a lot earlier than usual? Or does the sickness not allow you to do that? I do hope you get some respite soon!

I'm so looking forward to getting a little bump! At the moment I'm definitely flabbier than usual but that's all!

LisaTheGreek · 13/03/2016 21:06

Yep, I've just got into bed Grin

This seems to be my new bedtime (it used to be around 11). I find I can't sleep in very well (always up at 7 and wide awake), so need to go to bed earlier if I want a proper sleep. Which is fine because I'm dog tired by 9pm.

What about you?

Furble · 13/03/2016 21:27

Very similar! Up until a week or so ago I was going to bed at around 8pm most nights and then waking up around 4.30! I'm still awake at 9.30pm so definitely getting better but I think on that note I'll call it a night!

lotbyname · 13/03/2016 22:38

Hmm, I 'm feeling a lot better... should I be worried?

I'm currently 9w4, started feeling noticeably better on 8w6. Morning sickness , well nausea and extreme food aversions, started at around 5w2.

I do feel a bit queasy but about a 5th what I was before.

Tallblue · 14/03/2016 05:38

Morning all,
Thankfully the nausea seems to be easing off for me, I still need to eat pretty much every hour but I'm not feeling like I need to lie in a darkened room all the time now!
bluesky I have the same with sneezing when lying or sitting, I have to curl up draw my legs up to my chest to avoid serious pain.
I'm a bit worried as the earliest I can get my '12 week' scan will be at 13+3. Will this be too late for abnormality screening?
I'm sure this had been asked before but I don't have the energy to scroll back and read all the pages again Blush

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 07:07

Morning everyone! I have a question about frequent urination, if anyone can help.

I'm going for a wee ALL THE TIME. From about 5-6 weeks I was going about 6 times every night, and several times during the day. However, it's been getting worse recently.

The last couple of nights have been 8-9 times (I wear a Fitbit so it tells me what I'm doing), and I feel like I need to go all the time. And when I get to the loo, it's nowhere near a full bladder (which I could understand if I'm drinking loads), but sometimes just a teaspoon or so).

My question is, is this still normal, or could it be a sign of a UTI?

I've never had an infection before, so don't know what one is like. This just feels so far beyond what I expected and what the books say.

Can anyone help? Thanks

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 07:09

Tallblue, you'll be fine. The '12' week one can be done up to 14+6, I think.

I'm going to be 13 weeks when I get to mine.

So far away!

FuzzyOwl · 14/03/2016 07:43

Tallblue you are ok up until 14+1 for the test.

Lisa that sounds excessive. Has your midwife done a urine test recently?

Planeteer · 14/03/2016 07:54

Lisa sounds to me like there might be a UTI possibly lurking. They're generally pretty harmless, just really annoying (I had about 6 back to back in my early 20s...gah!) Do you have any pain when going to the loo?

Pod I'm feeling similar. 8+4 today and nausea is slowly lifting, but replaced by cramping, trapped wind, bloating and horrible constipation. Who said pregnancy was glamorous?!

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 08:01

Thanks Fuzzy and Planet.

Midwife last took my urine at 8 weeks (I'm almost 11 now), and said it was fine then. But that's a while ago.

No, no pain when I wee. No other symptoms at all.

Do people recommend getting UTIs checked out, or can you just flush them through your system? Thanks

FuzzyOwl · 14/03/2016 08:14

Lisa I think it would be worth giving your midwife a call so she can do another test for you. I seem to recall being told when we are pregnant we can't always tell if we have a uti (no normal pain symptoms etc) and that is why they do so many tests.
