Hello all. First time to join you even though I'm 20+6 today and had anomaly scan, all is well and I'm finally allowing myself to get excited. Hope you are all doing well.

Bluebell20 · 07/03/2016 19:23

Fifi yes, the terminology of the will just covers any children of yours - they don't have to be specifically named. And yes KayTee, it is a difficult decision. If my DH's parents weren't too old, we would have asked them, but it wouldn't be fair on them, or on the child, really. We were left with the choice of my brother - four years younger than me - or my DH's brother - six years older than me. They are both lovely people. DH's brother is more financially secure, and is already a parent, but my brother has a lifestyle and ideology is which is much more similar to mine and my husband's, and ultimately we decided that was more important to us. Plus, he lost our mum when he was mid-teens, so he knows what it's like to be bereaved young.

Anyway, hopefully it won't come to that, but it was good to have it sorted out! I would also have asked some close friends of ours, if family hadn't been suitable or had said no.

Cookies I'm exactly the same - only want to buy cute stuff and artwork for the nursery, nothing sensible or practical!

Bel I have been researching DIY crayon initials - you have started something! I think I will go for full-on rainbow :)

Val sounds like a busy time! I have absolutely packed out my work diary for the next six weeks, and all the switching from job to job definitely means that time is racing on. I'm not sure that I want it to, though! I feel as though the baby will be here before I've done ANYTHING to prepare at this rate!

Anyone else very confused about how many 'months' pregnant they are? I claimed I was 5 months pregnant at 20 weeks but I don't think I was - is it more like 22 weeks? I tried to work it out, got muddled, and gave up!

FifiRebel · 07/03/2016 19:29

Bluebell I'm definitely counting 20 weeks as 5 months...although have been saying I'm 5 months for a few weeks now Blush not sure what official answer is!

Bluebell20 · 07/03/2016 20:23

Fifi It was the fact that I'm 24 weeks tomorrow that made me think - my due date is now 28th June, so 3 months and 3 weeks away (arrrrrgh that sounds so close!) so I'm essentially 5 months and 1 week and a bit...?!

SpeakNoWords · 07/03/2016 20:36

40 weeks is kind of 10 months, so 24 weeks means only 16 weeks to go. At 24 weeks babies are 6 months old, so I guess 24 weeks is 6 months pregnant?

KayTee87 · 07/03/2016 20:51

There's approx 4.3 weeks per month but it's easier just calculating pregnancy in months isn't it. Usually people ask me how many weeks I am rather than months. If someone asked me months I would probaby say 'almost 5 months' I'm 20+2

KayTee87 · 07/03/2016 20:54

Easier in weeks *

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 07/03/2016 21:04

Here's a little picture to work out how pregnant you are in months.

Cookies my cats are a Persian-Tabby cross. They are VERY furry and a nightmare to groom. But very loving in their own little ways. One has the personality of a dog and the other has the personality of a princess! I think they may disown us when the baby arrives...

Glad people are liking the crayon pic! Will see if I can find any more ideas like that, I love this kind of thing. I will post my version in a few months!

I've been thinking about the will thing since the topic came up. Going to talk to DH about it now in fact...

Thom80 · 07/03/2016 22:07

Hi - I am now thinking of the will thing now. It is hard.
My dad is very good art, although can be an annoying perfectionist at times, I thought I might ask him for help with the crayon letter. Equally I can see it being one of those things I never get around to!!

ScandinavianMom · 07/03/2016 23:05

Kaytee You are not alone - my stomach also feels SO stretched and tight... It is very uncomfortable and I just try to moisture as much as possible

IndiansInTheLobby, Do you have previous experience with the Cameleon? I have a hard time understanding the differences among the different Bugaboo models...

Scase1firsttimemum · 08/03/2016 07:40

Thanks allthegood! Bloody hell.. 6months pregnant today!!

22 weeks today, size of an American Guinea Pig as of my Ovia app Grin

Will catch up properly later but for now I hope everyone has a great day!!

Ellizardo · 08/03/2016 07:43

Cool Indians - are you going for the cream? Brave choice!

Not really tight skin stretching here but lots of kicking on the bladder last night, oof.

FifiRebel · 08/03/2016 07:45

Thanks for the picture allgoodnames! Very helpful, I've screenshotted to keep referring back when I want to moan I'm xx months pregnant Smile

Indians I have the same Bugaboo as you, got it for £100 off eBay so I was chuffed! I tried to assemble it a few months ago and it took 3 of us...praying it gets easier with practice!

SunnyScot89 · 08/03/2016 08:33

Morning all!! 21 weeks today.

Bump is pretty obvious now, although I can still just about hide it!

Also wanted to share a pic of my beautiful girl for all you other animal lovers!

Happy Tuesday!!

Just on the way to our scan I'm so nervous! Hope everyone is ok

21+4

FifiRebel · 08/03/2016 09:23

Good luck for scan Vickie! Scot I love the bump pic, I'll take one later to compare. Haven't actually taken one yet during pregnancy.

AnnaT45 · 08/03/2016 09:23

Indians that's the colour my bugaboo is in! The cream is fine. Only has one or two small marks but I'll scrub it with vanish when it gets warmer and I can be bothered!!

It gets easier to assemble! I remember being in John Lewis car park with my mum and a small baby trying to do it. Had to get on YouTube Grin the joys of motherhood!

Good luck for scan Vickie!

I'll try catch up properly later. Have good days

KayTee87 · 08/03/2016 09:25

My bump last night, always feels huge in the evening! Excuse the messy coffee table Blush

20+3

Vickie360 · 08/03/2016 10:40

Hi everything was good although he wouldn't turn round so we have to go back to check the spine but it seems ok and we are having a boy! I can't wait to tell my dd and start shopping

SunnyScot89 · 08/03/2016 11:05

Congratulations Vickie. And welcome to team blue!!!

Thom80 · 08/03/2016 11:21

Vickie - congrats on the scan, and you have a second opportunity to see the little man!!
Sunnyscot - what a gorgeous dog. My cat rules the house, I am not sure how he is going to cope with a baby around. He is very good with my nieces and nephew. His tactic is to hide!
I don't have my scan for another two weeks. I will be nearly 22 weeks. I am getting very inpatient!! I might book a private scan in.

beckslovestimmy · 08/03/2016 11:52

Congrats on the scan vickie and joining team blue.

I've had to take DD to the docs today and she's got hand foot and mouth!!! She's so spotty! Seems ok in herself but she didn't sleep well last night.

Luckily no risk to me or baby.

25 weeks today!!
