Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 46th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 45th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 59th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. I really hope that worked!

He's adorable tri!

Well done on peam deal Kate and even better you only had to pay deposit. Im still waiting to hear our car seat base is in :(

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 28/03/2016 18:40

He is lovely tri! 💖🎊🎉🌸🐥🌹

ChatEnOeuf · 28/03/2016 18:45

Congrats Tri! Gorgeous dude.

SockQueen · 28/03/2016 21:13

Gorgeous little dude, Tri.

My DM has been foraging in the attic over the weekend while we were visiting, and has produced our old newborn crib, complete with almost-certainly-toxic mattress and horrendously-80s flouncy liner. It'll need a lot of work to sort out, which mum and dad are going to sort out, but it's the first item of baby paraphernalia we've acquired so far! Eep!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 28/03/2016 21:28

Oh sock that sounds lovely. A pro restoration and a new mattress and it'll be good as new. You may want to check the make and model for recalls online in case it needs to be modified to comply with current safety guidelines. Pics please!

5hell · 28/03/2016 22:18

Well bh/cramps/contractions? have continued all day - does not bode well for sleep, but I'm shattered. Had a tiny bit of brownish spotting but pretty sure not show/plug/waters.

tri he's scrummy!! :)

corgi88 · 28/03/2016 23:24

Hello all! Congrats tri and wool on your little stunners!
chat I know what you mean about wanting to be naive. The innocence of first pregnancy was so nice.... cats I'm still on pant watch and freaking out still at 9 weeks.... Constantly worrying about my boobs and whether they're still sore. Still not a smidgen of nausea. Also I was getting weird cramps when I orgasmed (sorry to all viroids going through a dry period) but those have now stopped so I'm really paranoid! I know it's stupid to worry about lack of cramps but i felt like something was actually going on in my womble...
See mw this Sunday and I'll ask how long it'll be til my scan.
Hope everyone else has had a lovely Easter!

lildottie · 28/03/2016 23:47

Yay for crib sock! We are using my crib if I can find a mattress to fit and replace some of the screws. All 5of us slept in it as newborns so it'd be lovely to use it for mine.

Lilbean is back on form today, lots of squirming through the day and currently having a rave! Phew.

justtheonethen · 28/03/2016 23:49

tri congratulations! He's gorgeous Star

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 29/03/2016 00:34

casually hangs some bunting out for little5hell and puts prosecco in the fridge

Canters15 · 29/03/2016 08:28

Congrats tri! What a gorgeous baby.

Yay for crib sock.

Morning sickness starting to hit. Was on call yesterday and was stupidly busy, poor DH had to drive me around various sites while I sobbed and groaned. No vomming though.

Ahh corgi I've had those exact same cramps Blush plus other general crampiness, mine tend to go for a couple of days then come back with a vengeance, I put it down to bean having growth spurts? So maybe yours will be back in a few days.

5hell · 29/03/2016 09:13

Thanks sky Smile but we might be getting ahead of ourselves ...dh insisted on working from home as he thinks it's all going to kick off soon but I think we could still be in for a LONG wait!

How is pregnancy still such a confusing & mysterious time - from start to finish!?! Flowers for all at the worrying start of stretching, cramping and retching!

Peenut · 29/03/2016 09:48

CONGRATS Tri! He's a stunning little thing –hope you are both doing very well. That seemed to happen really quickly! (That's in my eyes, in yours it may be a different story!)

A friend shared this article which I felt summed up the very confusing nature of pregnancy very well. I get what she means about pregnancy taking you by surprise, and actually that she says it can be quite lonely! I don't mean that in a depressive woe is me way, I've just found that the confusing mix of not feeling how you thought you might about certain things, worrying and people constantly telling you how you must be feeling and what a newborn will be like is a bit overwhelming at times!

Left over Easter Chocolate to all those who need some to get through first trimester STRESS and to everyone else who needs it!

Speaking of Chocolate there is SOOOO much to eat in our house, anyone want to come over and share?

Hope your Sainos shop triggers early labour 5hell!

Sock, the family moses basket sounds sweet!

I've been given three moses baskets, all of which I felt I couldn't say no to as the friend and relatives seemed VERY keen for me to take their moses basket.

BFriend gave me hers saying it's a good one, you MUST use it. SIL sniffed at the non breathable looking sides on that one and said I would MUCH rather use hers and Mum has offered my brother's 1980s moses basket and looked weepy when I said I already had two.

I'd actually really like one of those Next to Me beds but DH says we can't get one because the house will be overflowing with moses baskets ... I might have to be firmer with my acceptance of baby equipment by kind and well meaning slightly overbearing relatives/friends.

OH and can I have a quick rant about my Dad slagging off my girl name choice at dinner with DH's family yesterday. Caused a lovely uncomfortable silence and made me feel very pissed off for ever mentioning it to my Mum, who told my brother who told my Dad. Sigh. Still like the name though so ignoring him and not telling anyone else.

Also still convinced it's a boybee anyway due to the phantom willy I think I saw on 17 week scan Smile

FuzzyOwl · 29/03/2016 10:27

Thanks for the article Peenut. Nobody liked my choice of name for DD either and they were very vocal about it. Subsequently she was called something else but this one might yet be given the name I originally liked. I have at least learned not to tell people who names are being considered as some responses are so rude!

Corgi it sounds like we are having the exact same feelings and lack of symptoms and are a similar amount of time, so hopefully that bodes well for it being normal.

Had booking in today and wasn't even asked how I felt so I cowardly didn't bring anything up, which means waiting another month now for the 12 week scan but maybe that is ok.

DH has taken DCat to the vet and I have a horrible feeling she won't be coming back. She spent most of yesterday at the emergency clinic and just looks like a cat who is waiting to die. Poor little girl. Sad

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 29/03/2016 12:28

Oh fuzzy sorry to heat about DCat... We lost the cat XH and I adopted when we moved in together about a year ago and telling DD was one of the hardest moments I've had as a mum. Am actually weepy now just thinking of her... She was a rescue job and I loved her so much even though she hated me

To those with name issues... Just go for the name you like. If it doesn't work for your baby you'll know when you see them and you can wait to register the birth if you still aren't sure. Everyone, especially family, wants to name your child and be involved and the approach always seems to be slating your choice... but it is YOUR choice. I have a couple of cousins with unusual names we all disliked at first and now I can't imagine them named anything else. We chose an unusual name for mini. She is named after my favourite writer. Most people love it but some people really do not and that bothered me before she was born but now I really don't care because it is hers and we love it. I did find myself saying "it's actually a literary reference" in response to an arch comment about it which cracked me up a bit. So, I guess I'm a bit of a pretentious North London twat with my fancy baby name but like, whatever... It makes me happy.

Mermaid36 · 29/03/2016 12:57

Peenut thanks for the link to the article - I found it really interesting (and very true!)

We've not told anyone the names on our shortlist - I don't want people's views/arguments or the Confused face when they don't like what we've chosen...my mum isn't happy that we're not sharing names, but I don't care!

In other news - DH spent last night googling for geeky baby clothes including star trek uniforms, superhero sleepsuits and stuff with amusing slogans on...Our poor twins!!

YogaPants · 29/03/2016 14:23

Lil 👍 for an active bean.

Sock and Peenut good job on sourcing cribs and Moses baskets. This is still on our list.

Fuzzy poor cat! Sad

re names: I KNOW exactly what racist comment my mother will make about our current top girl's name if we have a girlbee because I have heard her slagging it off in the past. The thing is though it is a really normal, slightly boring name. So much so, I feel like if she is going to make negative comments about this name, she is going to make negative comments about any name therefore there is no point in trying to please her. Some people are just highly judgemental about names and like to voice their opinion.

Mer it must be fun tying to come up with geeky heroes for twins as they can be themed! My dh has been browsing for iron maiden baby clothes although none have made it into a shopping basket yet. Maybe I can get him/baby some for Father's Day this year.

5hell · 29/03/2016 16:46

Ooh u could decorate/personalise some really cool twin onesies mer Grin

Just had bloody show!!! OMG! Confused ...no wonder a friend warned me never to Google it!!!

CarrotPuff · 29/03/2016 18:02

Congrats Wool and Tri!

Welcome Cats!

CarrotPuff · 29/03/2016 18:04

Ooh 5hell, exciting! Dusts off pom-poms

lildottie · 29/03/2016 18:05

Oooh 5hell!!!! Pom poms are coming out!

So I went to tesco mwtro for my lunch and came out having spent £10 on chocolate from the reduced Easter stuff! Seriously, 5creme eggs for 75p!! I couldn't just get one box!! #bestnoteatitallbeforethegtt!

Mermaid36 · 29/03/2016 18:48

pom poms for 5hell - very exciting!
debating whether to Google what a show looks like

DH and I have even gone so far as to discuss whether Star Trek uniforms for the girls would be science/medical/command etc, cos they aren't having red "ensign" ones!
I've also seen a Buffy the Vampire Slayer sleepsuit that I want for them, and some Marvel/DC ones too....

FeatheredTail · 29/03/2016 19:37

EEEEEEE 5hell I'm so excited for you and the arrival of chubs! I also really want to google bloody show now too....

SockQueen · 29/03/2016 19:47

Sky it's a handmade one (I think by my grandpa, but not sure) but seems sturdy enough. We'll see how it looks once it's been restored. No pics at the moment as I left it with my parents - apparently it's bad luck to have a cot in the house too early - but I'll try to do a before and after shot once it's done.

Saw midwife today, so have clarified the mystery of the consultant appointment - it's because she wasn't sure about the Clomid. My random blood glucose at booking was a bit high though (7.9) so she's brought my GTT forward to this Friday! At least it's not on my birthday any more, though I don't know if they'll need to repeat it later in pregnancy. I'm hoping that it's just a spurious high reading as I had fasting glucose and HbA1c measured not long pre-pregnancy and both were normal, plus I'd just had breakfast and was stressed out on the day, and it's very early to develop GD, but we'll see... Also got to hear the heartbeat, which was lovely as I was secretly a tiny bit concerned it might be dead and I hadn't noticed. Good job I didn't buy a Doppler as she definitely disapproved of the idea!

5hell hope something starts happening soon!

YogaPants · 29/03/2016 20:19

Yay 5hell! Pom Poms have hardly had time to be put away yet.

I can't wait to see your little super hero photos Mer. They will be adorable.
