Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 46th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 45th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 59th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. I really hope that worked!

CarrotPuff · 21/03/2016 04:56

Congrats Sky!

lildottie · 21/03/2016 08:15

Morning. Been quiet on here, guessing everyone's had busy weekends. Hope Monday is kind to you all

TriJo · 21/03/2016 08:32

Still here, now officially overdue. Few twinges last night while cooking but can't help be disappointed at the fact that they didn't develop into anything and I ended up having a relatively good night's sleep with only two pee breaks.

5hell · 21/03/2016 09:25

morning, maternity leave is properly here! Grin

bathroom got a deep clean in the end yesterday (nesting)
today has started with epilating, then i might venture to an aqua class :)

hope you get some action soonish tri

FuzzyOwl · 21/03/2016 11:05

Morning

Hope your twinges turn into something soon Tri.

Enjoy your maternity leave 5hell.

I will be eight weeks based on ovulation this week, so I am going to book a private scan for next week to hopefully reassure me.

lildottie · 21/03/2016 13:08

Yay for mat leave 5hell

tri gx twinges increase

fuzzy sounds like a plan

Heartburn has landed here. Grrr. On way for scan and consultant appt. This is the one they booked purely because of ivf so not expecting any problems/excitement. Lol

Ohwoolballs · 21/03/2016 16:48

Oooh, it hasn't 'arf gone quiet on here. Hope that means that no news (or venting!) is good news from all and we've all had a lovely weekend enjoying the spring sunshine.

Congratulations Sky! 💐🌟

Fuzzy a friend of mine went for a couple of early scans as well as the usual 12 weeker. She really needed the reassurance and after going again at 15+4 she is feeling so much better.

5hell woo hoo for mat leave! I did all my nesting in the first week and then have spent three weeks on the yoga ball, eating Shreddies and sewing. 👍😁

lil have a good scan!

justtheonethen · 21/03/2016 18:11

Congrats sky Star

fruitlovingmonkey · 21/03/2016 18:50

Congratulations Sky, glad Minisky arrived safely.
Hope your scan went well Lil.
Day off here and I am a total snotball. Hope I can make it through my last week without sneezing on everyone.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 21/03/2016 20:55

Ok viroids here is my birth story...

As you may remember minisky was 3/5ths engaged and I was very uncomfy from 37 weeks and my consultants and diabetic MW team were all convinced I was going to give birth at any time. I had 3 sweeps that resulted in false labour but ultimatley I got to my last consultant appointment at 39+3 with a baby 2/5ths palpable and still only 1cm dialated with my cervix only partially forward and 2cm thick... I refused a final sweep on the grounds that they hadn't been productive other than in making me very uncomfortable and resulting in poor sleep and disappointment but agreed to induction for the next morning as my fadting levels were creeping up and it was either start insulin and be induced a week later or just go for it... I was previously worried about induction and at one point inquired about ELSC but ultimately when it came down to it all I cared about was baby arriving safely and due to how engaged she was I was confident that she was ready to come out. Another factor in me accepting induction early was that there was a risk of shoulder dystocia as mini's abdomen was measuring larger than average at my 37 week growth scan. This was caused by the Gestational Diabetes and I knew the longer I left her in the bigger the risk of her getting stuck. So on Friday DP and I arrived 15 minutes late to the hospital. We were checked in and set up shop. I had a 24 hour pessary put in at around noon and aside from some annoying people on the ward it was a pretty uneventful 24 hours. When the pessary came out at lunchtime on Saturday I was still only 1cm and told I needed to rest my cervix for 6 hours before having a prostin tablet inserted. Then I got upset... I had a couple of strops and rang DP up on the verge of tears. He had gone home to sleep but came back in so that we could make a plan to campaign for a CS as I was sure that the induction was going to fail completely... by the time he got to the hospital I was contracting and my waters appeared to be leaking. The lwak turned out to be a false alarm but the contractions were real so by the time 6pm rolled around I was up for the prostin tablet and my cervix was at 2cm. Shortly after it went in my bump went very tight and I felt quite poorly on top of my irregular contractions so around 9pm I requested pain relief and was given pethidine. This relaxed me enough that I lay down and fell asleep only to be woken up 40 minutes later to the feeling of my waters bursting all over the bed. The midwife and nurses came and changed the bedding and I was examined and given gas and air but still only 2cm. Pretty much as soon as my bed was made I began to projectile vomit, soiling the freshly made bed, the floor, and the sheets I was covered in... so cleanup crew xame back. The gas and air helped for quite a long time but ultimately the contractions began to get more and more painful and I started to freak out a little. I was very concious of not wanting to moan and cry on the ward as there were loads of other people at various stages trying to sleep in my bay. I asked to be examined at one stage because I was feeling a kind of pressure that I was struggling to cope with and was told I was 3-4cm and could be transfererred to labour ward where I said I wanted an epidural ASAP. It seemed to take an eternity but I got there... I arrived about 6:30am so had to wait out a shift change and struggled to cope on gas and air alone while waiting about 1.5 hours for the anesthetist who was in theatre. I just kept telling myself I was going to meet my baby and that I needed to be strong for my DP. I did take advantage of being on labour ward to make a few almighty hollers though which helped me cope as up to then I had really tried to be stoic and it was doing my head in a bit. My epidural finally came and I spent about an hour babbling away to my midwives while using the reprieve from pain to get my breakfast and meds down me and I even had a short nap while DP nipped out to get himself some breakfast as the hospital cafe was shut down due to a powercut at 7am (part of what slowed down the arrival of my epidural). I was put on the syntocin at this point. At about 10am I mentioned I could feel pressure again... I thought I needed a top up but after being examined and seen by a consultant was informed I was nearly ready to push! We started at 1140am it was slow going at first. After about 3 rounds of pushing her head was visible but she wasn't delivering... we talked about an episiotomy and I agreed but the midwives wanted to avoid it. To their credit, at this point they knew mini might have been stuck but were determined to keep my labour as trauma free as possible. They called in another midwife who pitched in and on the next set of pushed delivered her head. Then like in a strange film my legs were positioned high in the air and 3 midwives literally pulled while I pushed and turned baby whose shoulder was stuck and out came my beautiful daughter. In the end I had a couple of small second degree tears which have been stitched up with dissolvable sutures but baby is completely perfect and what felt like it could have been a really traumatic birth was actually one of the most positive experiences of my whole life. We spent the day in labour ward as my pulse was elevated and I needed fluids then were sent to post natal where were were looked after by the same MW who attended me in antenatal. She even took time to compliment me on how I handled my labour which actually meant a great deal to me. We were discharged in time for me to do the school run today with baby in her pram... Overall I have to say I have really learned a lot about what an asset midwives can be. My experience this time around couldn't have been more different to my first birth and although it wasn't what I wanted per se and there were complications it was handled so beautifully that I am really feeling quite humbled. Definitely planning to give my hospital some great feedback and sending gifts to the amazing midwives who helped us bring our baby into the world.

Massive congratulations Sky! Happy to hear your birth experience was better the second time round. Wow! At being able to do the school run today. Hope you have had some time to take it easy and enjoy your newborn as well. Star

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 21/03/2016 21:50

Yay for mat leave 5hell!

Peenut · 21/03/2016 22:00

Wow Sky, so chuffed for you that you had a positive experience and that mini sky is happy and very well! Glad you managed a few screams after holding them in so well on the other ward, and a filmic waters breaking in a rush scenario (shame about the vom)! How very exciting that baby made the school run! I hope we'll be hearing more about minisky soon.

Can't believe so many are popping around here! Although don't know why as that is what happens after about 40 weeks after all!

Happy birthday for the weekend Kate! Glad twat bag wasn't too bad, and hey ho, a sip of something here and there does no harm. (That's what I'm going with anyway!)

Gotta love a bit if Quentin B Feathered! Is that print from his book Cockatoos?

Hang in there Tri! Baby could make a surprise appearance very soon!

CarrotPuff · 21/03/2016 22:52

Well done Sky, so happy for you that you had a positive experience, I hope you're proud of yourself Thanks

SockQueen · 21/03/2016 22:56

Yay Sky what a lovely story. I'm so glad you feel more positive about this time around, I know how anxious you were about the induction. Congratulations on minisky! Flowers

Tri Gx you don't have to wait too much longer.

lildottie · 21/03/2016 23:12

Glad you had a positive experience sky. May pick ur brain at some point about induction as I got given more info today and am starting to freak out! Anyway, scan went well and baby growing well.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 21/03/2016 23:32

Of course lil! Any time.

Illiria · 22/03/2016 00:21

Congrats Sky

Lil glad everything was good.

I had more bleeding and cramps last night and then when we went in this afternoon they couldn't find a heartbeat. We are having a d and c in Friday so that they can do genetic testing as we have had two in a short period. That's if I don't naturally miscarry before then.

So I am off, probably leaving mn for a while as well. We both need a break from this all as its now two years of trying for us.

Gx for everyone and I really have appreciated all your support.

CarrotPuff · 22/03/2016 01:14
