Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Bunch that does sound dreadful. I'd make a complaint at the pharmacy if I were you.

Miley how many weeks are you now? You must been nearing the end of the first trimester?

No glowing here. Plenty of aches and pains, stretch marks and dry skin. I think the second trimester glowing is just a myth Angry

Stardust please let me know your EDD so that I can add you to our list Smile

Oh, and I can highly recommend fig rolls if you've been constipated... I've been eating them the past few days and now I can't stop pooping Confused

runner I'm only 9 weeks. It probably seems like I should be nearer 13 because all I've done in whine haha. I do love a fig roll...

Danni89 · 07/03/2016 11:45

Thought it was just me runner- did anyone else have a lot of aches and pains around week 13? I've googled Dr'd and I think it's round ligament pain but it still worries me Confused

Planeteer · 07/03/2016 11:46

Ouch bunch you poor thing, that sounds hideous! Hope it's properly easing now. Will definitely steer clear of lactulose. Urgh!

Thanks for your support re DH, you lovely lot. He's hopefully going to be flying home tonight and can have more tests in the uk. No longer classed as an urgent case, so am keeping everything crossed that he'll be on the mend soon.

Mileymoocow · 07/03/2016 12:00

What do you ladies think of the name Thea (thay-a)? We wanted Emelia but it's apparently so common (though I don't know any personally)!

Does anyone have their names set in stone?! We changed from scarlet for a girl originally so keep changing our minds.

Our boy is a definite Harrison (for now).

Planeteer · 07/03/2016 12:06

I really like Thea, but would tend to pronounce it (Thee-a) I think... Would that bug you?

Harrison's fab too. We've got a shortlist of girls names that we both like. Zoe's the front runner at the moment, but we seem to disagree more on boys names. DH has so far vetoed all my suggestions haha.

Mileymoocow · 07/03/2016 12:11

No not at all! I like either but OH suggested thay-a (he likes to be different). I live the name zoe Grin I'm a nervous wreck as there are a lot of pregnant people round me and am conscious of the fact we don't love very unusual names. FX no one thinks of ours!

We have so many oliver/Olivias around us at the moment that they are a definite no no.

I feel so much responsibility choosing a name. Like this little human that will appear from my vagina will respond to this word for the rest of its life!

We've just been to pick up our paint for the nursery and I'm soooo excited to get it painted and furniture built (anything to take my mind off praying to the porcelain gods!)

BunchOfBobs · 07/03/2016 12:13

Cramps mostly gone now. Been the loo again and had lots of wind, I guess that was the cause of all the pain. Apparently it's a common side effect, why would they suggest this to me?!!

I would Runner but it wasn't a pharmacy anywhere near me. We were away for the weekend when I picked it up.** I'll definitely try the dog rolls!

Glad to hear he'll be on his way home soon Plant.

Miley Thea is lovely. We have two names chosen for each sex. Waiting to meet the LO to decide which one suits best, but we both just discovered another name we really like yesterday so I'm going to say nothing is set in stone yet.

On a side note, gp finally referred me for pregnancy physio. It could be sciatica apparently. Which I loathe to tell DH as he has been saying that all along. He'll be a right smug bugger.

BunchOfBobs · 07/03/2016 12:14

Dog rolls?!! FIG rolls obvs!!

Planeteer · 07/03/2016 12:16

Haha, dog rolls probably less good for constipation...

Morwenna1 · 07/03/2016 12:48

God Bunch that sounds awful! A common 'side-effect'?! Well you know to steer clear from now on, and thanks for letting us all know!

Er, I wouldn't describe myself as 'glowing' Miley! I'm getting to the point where it's difficult to fall asleep now, it's so much effort to move around in the bed and I've had to put a pillow/cushion in-between my knees to stop having a dead leg in the morning! Haven't been getting up in the night for the toilet though...but then I have always slept straight through all night, so don't know if that has something to do with it?

I know two Thea's, one is pronounced 'Thee-ah' and the other is spelled the same way, but pronounced 'Tay-ah' Both lovely people! We have a list and have narrowed down a few names, but nothing concrete yet.

Shelb To echo others, I have moments where I'm like 'Holy shit' this is really happening! I think that that's completely natural and as time goes on we'll get more accustomed to the idea! Having what I think are flutters brought a big smile to my face and the surreal happiness of seeing the LO on the scan is amazing Smile Deliberately not thinking too much about labour at the moment! la la la sticks fingers in ears

My Seraphine dress arrived and looks lovely on! Good fit - go with what you are 'pre-pregnancy'.

Morwenna1 · 07/03/2016 12:50

Hi Star! Hope things are going well!

First that's lovely you've seen a little heartbeat Smile bet you can't get enough of having access to the scanner!

Bugmuncher · 07/03/2016 13:12

At the risk of asking a silly question what does LO stand for?

BunchOfBobs · 07/03/2016 13:37

Bug LO stands for little one Smile

LisaTheGreek · 07/03/2016 13:44

No guys, don’t break my hopeful bubble about the second trimester being better and glowing! It’s all I’m holding onto right now! Really, is no one at all feeling better than the first trimester?

Planet - glad your DH is doing ok. Hope it all gets sorted, whatever it is

Miley - I actually really like Thea. I’d never really thought of that name before. Like Planet said, I would probably think it was Thee-a, but I guess loads of names get pronounced incorrectly the first time, and then people learn.

Also, very exciting about your nursery! What colour are you painting it?

Bunch - glad to hear you’re finally getting physio, and hope it gets better soon, you poor thing

Mor - in terms of Seraphine sizes, would you say they’re quite standard? Or do their things come up small/large compared to buying your size elsewhere?

BunchOfBobs · 07/03/2016 14:01

Lisa I think most of us feel better than in the first trimester but we just look like crap. That's my take on second trimester "glow" though. The lovely skin and hair. Pfft I'm a spotty flakey greaseball and quite pale too. I look a dish! I feel good though (despite my pain and constipation), my energy levels are back to normal- I never had sickness though.

Oh and heartburn made an appearance yesterday..... Yay Hmm

Morwenna1 · 07/03/2016 14:24

Bunch, you could have written my response to the 1st tri Q! Energy is definitely back, just don't look great on the outside! Hair and nails are growing extremely quickly though, I wonder if it's because of all the extra blood being pumped around?!

Lisa I'd say the sizes are standard. I buy a lot from Dotty P's, so I use that as a benchmark. So I'm a 12 at DP's and the Seraphine dress I ordered was a 12 too.

Round ligament pain - would you describe it as a muscular ache near or in the hollow bit by your hip? i.e. groin area between fanjo and hip? (Am I making any sense?)

Bugmuncher · 07/03/2016 14:59

Thanks bunhc!

Co5mo · 07/03/2016 15:25

Don't blame the pharmacist, lactulose is one of the few things they can offer to pregnant women for constipation. It's usually so gentle that it is often not enough to shift the problem but some people do seem to get bad wind type pain with it which can be quite scary if you're pregnant and not expecting it. Get eating plenty of fibre everyone ☺

Danni89 · 07/03/2016 15:26

Mor- yh it's groin to hip area, sharpish kinda pains

Runner05 · 07/03/2016 15:33

Miley Thea's quite nice. I agree that Emelia is really common at the moment. I think I know about 4 of them.

No names set in stone here but we do have a couple of ideas.

Lisa the second trimester has at least stopped the vomiting for me but apart from that and very slightly more energy it's been a bit of a damp squib and I too look like crap Hmm I would say though that on a feeling better front my stupid massive fibroid means that my internal organs are slightly more squished than they would normally be at this stage so I may not be the best example.

Mor your description of round ligament pain sounds spot on to me.

OP posts:
LisaTheGreek · 07/03/2016 15:57

Thanks Mor, that's really useful. Think I'll order something. What I don't really like about so many of their dresses though, is that they really emphasise your breasts. I have nothing against my (or other people's) breasts, but my fashion sense is to never show any cleavage. I just don't like it, personally.

Bunch and Runner - I don't believe you, I bet you both look gorgeous! Smile

Runner05 · 07/03/2016 16:11

Lisa if you call pasty pale skin that somehow manages to both be oily and produce dry fakes of skin that makes me look like I have a weird case of eyebrow dandruff, then yes, I look gorgeous Hmm oh, and I look fat, and I waddle when I walk, and I burp loudly all the time... It's a miracle my OH hasn't dumped my in horror! Blush

BunchOfBobs · 07/03/2016 16:35

Runner your post made me giggle.

I look such a mess I get weekly queries from my dad asking if my face has cleared up yet. When I take my top off my DH winces as I have spots popping up across the top of my shoulders and chest.
Not to mention the greasy hair by the end of the day when it's been washed that morning.
As I've previously described my wind chases people out of the room.sounds like Runner and I are a right pair. We're bloomin' bootiful! Grin!
