Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Hi soda of course you're welcome! All fellow northerners welcome here Grin glad all is well with your little sprout.

Well guys, after a full 2 days of not vomiting I've definitely made up for it this morning. What's everyone's thoughts on taking another pregnancy vitamin after they've thrown up? I don't know wether to have another...

indi I'm glad you're resting! I've tried hot water and lemon and though it didn't do anything for me, it wasn't too bad bringing back up again Wink I've just decided I'm one of those that nothing will work for.

soda and indi I'm also getting scanned on Wednesday evening so it'll be a good day for getting mushy over scan pics!

Runner05 · 29/02/2016 10:35

I've just had it confirmed that I can take all my holiday this year in a lump sum before maternity which means I've only got about 18 weeks left to work (woohoo!!!)

Yay! For lots of scan pics tomorrow!!! Grin

Mileymoocow · 29/02/2016 10:43

runner wow! That's brilliant!!! I was wondering how my holidays would work as I'll be off from October so will get a week back as I won't need holiday over Christmas and will have about 3 other weeks left to use. Hopefully I get them all at once like you!

LisaTheGreek · 29/02/2016 10:58

Miley - I've re-taken my vitamin a couple of times if I think I've just thrown it (and the associated food) straight up again. It should be ok because your body just puts any excess (from most) vitamins into waste, but it's good to only do it if you're absolutely sure as there are a couple of vitamins we shouldn't be taking in excess.

[This is my completely amateur and non-medial opinion. Happy to be corrected by an expert!Grin ]

Runner05 · 29/02/2016 11:51

Miley I think it's considered fairly normal to take your holiday in a lump sum before you go on mat leave. You also should get any bank holidays that happen while you're away re-credited to you Grin

I can't wait to go on mat leave. Nearly a year with no work, yes please!!

I'm currently still working on my baby budgeting. OH is really worried about money but I keep looking at our budget and seeing that we'll have far more than an average disposable income. I just can't figure out how to reassure him that's the case. It's frustrating as it's making me worry about him worrying when in fact there's absolutely nothing to worry about Confused

Miley I think it's ok to miss one or two pills now and again so I'd just skip it.

Bloody hell runner that's a nice figure to look forward to! Smile

Welcome soda, I'm a northerner too!

Right - what are people who work in formal offices wearing as bumps get bigger??! I can't pin down a style to wear!

X

Runner05 · 29/02/2016 14:04

Shelb would just say that when I say average disposable income I mean average among friends and family... No idea what the UK average is lol

I'm wearing maternity jeans at the moment because absolutely no where near me sells maternity clothes and every time I buy online the clothes either look awful or don't fit Sad

OP posts:
Danni89 · 29/02/2016 14:08

Shelb I'm just wearing lose blouses and skirts, but that's only because I'm still hiding it. Once it's all out in the open I think my dress code will change and I'll be more comfortable wearing anything

shelbTa · 29/02/2016 14:20

Oh no sorry runner I meant the 18 weeks - yay! X

Runner05 · 29/02/2016 14:31

Lol, ah, I see Shelb... Confusing myself Confused

Yeh, 18 weeks can't go quickly enough. I want to get both the businesses up and running by then though so I need to get my skates on Smile busy busy!

Haven't moved from the couch so far today, feel like shit Sad
On the plus side I've got my scan date through 1st April!! Which doesn't seem far off at all Grin I'll be 12+3 then, that's if all goes well with this early scan on Wednesday (crossing everything that bean is still in there)

BunchOfBobs · 29/02/2016 15:53

And so it begins!
Staying with my parents for a few days and I'm out shopping for fabric with my mum. Mum tells the server I'm pregnant so that she will pick up the bolt (apparently being pregnant now stops women from being able to function normally Hmm) and I'm then asked "ooh have you only just found out?"
Me: "No I'm 4 months gone"
Her: "really?! You're absolutely tiny"
I just looked at my rather obvious bump and looked back at her rather confused.
We then popped in to see my nan and my aunty is there
"Oh my goooood the size of YOU! You're MASSIVE"
Wtf?!
She then kissed my bump Hmm I swear I can still feel where she kissed me.
People are strange!!

Runner05 · 29/02/2016 16:03

Lol Bunch that's so funny!

I've started having comments at work now. This morning one woman looked at me and then said "oh my god are you...?" And then mimed a bump.
Another woman I work with looked at me and said "God runner you're huge. I aware you're getting bigger every day!"

I'm finding it quite entertaining at the moment. Although, absolutely everyone telling me that I shouldn't lift anything is getting a bit old Hmm

Will respond properly later but for now, welcome Soda! I'm also a northerner.

Shelb, i wear dresses for work anyway (generally wrap dresses or relatively slim fit ones). They all still fit so I'm hoping to keep wearing them as long as possible. I'll then get a few maternity ones - I want things that hug a bump rather than tent like things which just make me look fat!!

Sodasoda · 29/02/2016 18:37

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! Smile

Nice to see so many northerners too! I think we'll really feel a bit homesick come September. I've been in London over 10 years now and really enjoy it but mine and DHs families are all up north so no babysitting help for us! I hope we'll end up closer to home in a few years.

indi it's so nerve wracking isn't it? I think spotting is actually really common but it's good to get checked out. The EPU I went to was really good but also reassuring - they said if I wasn't cramping or passing clots or bleeding really heavily it was probably just what my body did in pregnancy. They swabbed me for infections (all fine) and then scanned me and they asked me back for another scan 2 weeks later to reassure me too. With me it was brown in colour (sometimes a dark reddish brown) mainly when I wiped and on a pantyliner. I also felt sick and had pregnancy symptoms so if you're feeling rough this is also a really good sign all is well! Hope that helps.

I'm really looking forward to having a bump! At the moment my boobs are just absolutely MASSIVE! I've also put on a bit of weight because I've been feeling so sick that I've been eating all the time! Mainly carbs and cheese.... I also have quite visible veins around boobs and erm groin area. Anyone else?!

shelb my office is fairly formal and I wear a lot of dresses usually. My trousers are too tight currently anyway Blush and my usual pencil dresses are a no no but I have some nice wrap options like pink which are fine. I also haven't told work yet so still hiding things and wearing loose stuff but will definitely go for more figure hugging options like pink. My SIL had a September baby last year and she's pretty stylish with lots of nice seraphina dresses so going round to raid her wardrobe next weekend!

Sorry for my really long posts everyone. Very bad thread etiquette by me!

shelbTa · 29/02/2016 18:42

Thanks ladies.

Pink - if you see any nice mat dresses flag them to me will you!

X

LillianFullStop · 29/02/2016 18:51

Hi all - good news on the scan today we saw a nice strong heartbeat! Bean is measuring a week earlier but that's to be expected since I do have longer cycles.

LillianFullStop · 29/02/2016 18:55

shelb I think the trouser suits and fitted dresses will have to go to the back of the wardrobe in place of shift dresses for now. I work with all men except my boss so I doubt they will notice enough to suspect!

indi I hope your scan goes well on Wed!

bunch the feedback on the bump must be confusing!!

Sodasoda · 29/02/2016 19:04

Fab news lillian, that must be such a relief.

shelb - I have my eye on this at the moment. Think the dress and skirt will be fab for work m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/seraphine-maternity-the-london-bump-kit-black-white/p2561632?un_jtt_v_pdp=yes&un_jtt_v_from_product=un_product_1#page_loaded

Pinklily1 · 29/02/2016 19:04

Lilian~ so pleased that the scan went well!

Shelb, I've seen a grand total of one nice work dress so far - ASOS maternity, but they don't have it in my size. At a glance the New Look ones look ok (I don't want to spend loads) but they are quite see through when you look at them up close. The quest continues!!

Sodasoda · 29/02/2016 19:05

Ah slight link fail I think. Sorry. Just type in seraphina bump starter kit - john Lewis stocks it and it's £85 for a dress skirt, leggings and long best which I think would all get a lot of wear by me!

LaraG13 · 29/02/2016 19:17

Yay lillian! So pleased for you. Mine can't come soon enough. I hate the waiting and worrying.

Lesbecky · 29/02/2016 19:40

Making the graduation jump. Thanks for the link miley. I hope the tablets kick in soon. I'm still v early - just 4+5. Called the hospital to refer and they asked me to call back next week Blush

Lovely to meet you all
