I don't really want to spend money on anything! Particularly as we are moving and don't know where to yet, so I don't want to buy furniture that doesn't work for what we need in the new place. Im hoping a little by some miracle we'll be out by the end of July, and so just buy new stuff as we know what we definitely need, but if not we're going to have to do something! I have a feeling DSiL used one so maybe I could borrow hers?!

Did you figure out why your DD hated a crib divergent, is it not just like a small cot? I don't really like co sleeping so both of my other two had to learn to sleep in the Moses basket and then the cot on their own. I assumed a crib would just be an in between.

iamdivergent · 13/03/2016 09:37

She hated to be confined so we coslept then into the cot at about 4mths which she was fine with. If you're looking at cribs make sure you get a big one as some seem to be smaller than moses baskets

iamdivergent · 13/03/2016 09:38

Or a free one from the SIL would be fab Grin

bikingintherain · 13/03/2016 09:40

Thanks for the heads up I assumed they were all a similar size. The thing I am not yet taking into account is (and I would have thought I would have learnt this by now wih two completely different DC) is that even from being a tiny baby they have their own likes and preferences. I think I'm going to wait and see how things go with the Moses basket and look into other solutions further down the line.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 13/03/2016 10:12

For anyone thinking of getting the Chicco next to me crib. When buying ask if it's the new one. They are now making with thicker and slightly softer mattress's on. Got one yesterday from the baby event Manchester and the lady said only just been released. Just thought I'd share.

sambababy · 13/03/2016 16:19

Wish I'd known that miracles! Already got a snuzpod now.

Feeling really excited as I'm going back to the UK with DD on Friday for a month! Grin DH had a freak about Zika and booked us onto the same flight home as my parents. He'll join us later. Can't wait!! Will have to restrain myself with the shopping...

bikingintherain · 13/03/2016 16:55

Exciting samba, DH is going back next weekend with a car and I've written him a shopping list, but have only so far done a little online shopping. I have a basket full of things on Amazon to be delivered to his mums the moment my spending guards are down!

LaPharisienne · 13/03/2016 21:07

Emma85 I had a really weepy end of last week, don't worry about it! Felt really anxious about the whole darn thing xxxx

TomboyGirl · 14/03/2016 00:59

Hey Miracles! Was at the baby Event on Manchester on Sunday Smile! Did you enjoy it? What did you think of the snugglebundls?

earlgreydrinker · 14/03/2016 07:17

I'm full of a cold (again). Any top tips for what can take?
I feel awful - would you go to the doctor?

mrsmugoo · 14/03/2016 07:29

Full of cold here too - I literally just recovered from one and I've got another straight away on top and nasty cough to boot. I'm afraid plain paracetamol is the only thing available. Hot drinks are superficially soothing but I find a cup of tea as soothing as a honey and lemon.

I even wet myself a bit coughing last night - a new low!!! SadSadSad

strawberrypenguin · 14/03/2016 07:34

I've woken up with a sore throat this morning too. Not sure how - I've been eating oranges like they're going out of fashion! I think honey and lemon and paracetamol are about all we can have.

mrsmugoo · 14/03/2016 07:37

My muscles are so achy from coughing it hurts to simply hold myself upright. Simple viruses are so much more miserable when pregnant :(

Also it's my day at home with my energetic DS today - I wish it was a work day!!

earlgreydrinker · 14/03/2016 07:41

mrs yes, coughing is dangerous! Pregnancy is not glamourous!

nehagarg · 14/03/2016 08:20

Salt water nasal spray helps a bit. Nowhere near the magic of otrivin but better than nothing.

Hooe you all feel better soon. I have a cold too. Really hoping that I am at the end of it now.

I don't think the doctor canot help earl. It's just one of those shit things you have to ride out. It makes nighttime horrific though if and when you get a blocked nose. Although I got some olbas as the pharmacist said it would be fine despite the packaging stating otherwise.

Is anyone a big Next shopper? Can you remember when sales are? Dd is having a growth spurt but I refuse to buy full price clothes so bloody stingy as they are so over priced!

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 14/03/2016 08:23

Hi tomboy loved the snugglebundi and we just had to buy one. So many good offers. We also watched the baby carrier demonstration/talk. Some interesting facts about baby carrying. DH and I both tried on one of there carriers a wrap one and found it so comfy so we got one of those too.

mrsmugoo · 14/03/2016 08:29

I've been putting olbas on my room vaporiser - but since I can't smell, I have to get my DH to do it in case I over do it and our eyes start steaming!

Eastend2015 · 14/03/2016 08:50

Jelly I think the next sale was a few weeks ago as I hoovered up loads, but there might be some bits left online. Stopped off at McDonald's on our way for a growth scan. Guilty pleasure!

strawberrypenguin · 14/03/2016 09:50

Oh lovely, I've just been sick so I'm thinking virus not cold after all. Just had to call DH to come and get me from work as I don't trust myself to drive home.

Eastend2015 · 14/03/2016 10:04

All measurements bang on! Tummy a little on the larger side but s/he gets that from DH! Wink

laughingGnomette · 14/03/2016 10:22

Finally got to meet my midwife at my 28wk appointment and she was lovely. She offered to refer my for my pgp and also gave me the number for the acupuncture service that they offer which I'm very pleased about and I'll definitely give a try. I completely forgot to ask for my MAT1B form though so I'll have to see if I can pop back and get that today! Doh!

She told me that three weeks ago one of her ladies gave birth to a little girl after having a couple of scans (one at 36 weeks) saying she was having a boy! So nothing is a certainty until they are born! Shock

laughingGnomette · 14/03/2016 10:28

Eastend Grin I read your post as you stopped off at McDonalds FOR a growth scan!! Grin amazing what they'll sell you with your Big Mac n fries! Wink
Lovely picture, congratulations! X

Eastend2015 · 14/03/2016 10:45

Haha gnomette!! Well it's on Facebook now so we'd better get used to this actually happening!

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rough Cake

jbiscuits · 14/03/2016 13:46

Sorry to hear everyone is unwell. There seems to be a lot of it going around at the moment (not that that's any consolation!). I tried hot honey and lemon for the first time yesterday, and found it quite soothing. Might have to drink it more often!

Glad your scan/ appointments went well eastend and laughing.
