Lol thirty in the previous post was supposed to read thrifty!

Thanks for the good luck messages Biking and Nehagarg, wearing a patterned dress to try and camouflage the bump a bit. The immediate team know but I don't want it to be the first thing people see!

Eastend2015 · 24/02/2016 08:51

Thanks Jelly, lol- running?!?! Getting out of bed is hard enough!

Belleboo23 · 24/02/2016 09:16

Thanks nehagarg :)

emma85x · 24/02/2016 09:20

Good luck today eastend

cautiousoptimist1 · 24/02/2016 09:29

Good luck in your new job today Eastend.

JellyBaby26 · 24/02/2016 09:32

Hey everyone. Have been very quiet recently and have taken myself off Facebook temporarily for reasons to do with my daughters health (I'm terrible at reading things I don't want to and have got myself paranoid from reading other people's stories).

I have just got my next2me manual out and have taken a picture below re washing :

So my new firm have stuffed up my security checks and won't let me in as another team hasn't validated the passport I brought in 2 weeks ago. One manager is out of the office, the other is not picking up... Apparently there is no room booked for my induction anyway so they can't even contact someone to let them know I'm late!! Currently sitting in security shoving blunt pencils in my eyes. Thank god I had breakfast this morning otherwise they'd have a VERY angry pregnant woman on their hands (as opposed to just an angry one!)

bikingintherain · 24/02/2016 09:57

Oh no Eastend! Hope it gets sorted quickly. It must be so frustrating!

I have taken your advice and have added yoghurt to my breakfast. Yesterday I added extra dairy with a clotted cream scone, and today with a hot chocolate from Starbucks. I realise its perhaps not quite what was recommended but enjoyable non the less!

1Sunnydays · 24/02/2016 10:19

Not good Eastend. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Sounds pretty good to me Biking! In fact, I might have to go and make a hot chocolate now.

LouLou030783 · 24/02/2016 10:29

Hope all is ok jelly did ur 20 week scan go well x

JellyBaby26 · 24/02/2016 10:48

I had a 24 week scan with a fetal medicine consultant but it was literally over in 2 minutes. I have to go back at 28 weeks so she can do a really detailed scan of his brain.

Will be difficult because I don't imagine she really knows what to look for and who knows if I had have had one at 28 weeks with dd would it have showed up?!

Dd used to get hiccups well over 10 times a day which they say could have been something seizure related. Not personally convinced but I'm no neurologist!! Annoyingly I can't remember when they started with her, which I guess is a good thing as I'd be worried if he started hiccuping frequently from the same point.

Oh I'm waffling!

Hope everyone is well! Time seems to have slowed slightly now but won't be long before we are all in the final trimester, and soon it will be warm again!

cautiousoptimist1 · 24/02/2016 11:28

Hope all is well with your DD jelly.

Eastend that's terrible. I had a similar experience when I started here with no one expecting me even though I had an appointment for induction. Luckily I was an internal transfer (back from Switzerland) so had everything I needed to let myself in. They realised and apologised after 2 days!

Eastend2015 · 24/02/2016 11:36

In the building now, and a nice colleague made it up to me with a cup of tea.

Jelly are they looking for something particular in his brain? I am (mildly) epileptic so had a more detailed 20 week scan and have a growth scan at 26 weeks. We were offered a foetal MRI but have declined.

LouLou030783 · 24/02/2016 11:58

Nightmare jelly hope everything goes well

JellyBaby26 · 24/02/2016 12:01

I'm not 100% sure to be honest and am surprised I haven't been offered an MRI.

Dd has severe neurological issues resulting in fairly bad epilepsy amongst other issues such as low muscle tone, visual impairment and development delay.

She had an MRI at day 7 of life which showed some complex issues but I can't understand the lingo in the report.

I don't know whether an ultrasound would show any issues on his brain as it didn't when dd was born.
I may ask about an MRI but have a feeling I'd be shot down and will be told everything is fine!

Eastend2015 · 24/02/2016 14:10

It might be worth asking Jelly, good luck!

laughingGnomette · 24/02/2016 14:32

Fingers crossed for your scan at 28 weeks jellybaby, sorry you're having to go through all of this without definite answers, it must be hellish.

strawberrypenguin · 24/02/2016 14:40

Glad your day has got a bit better eastend sounds like a rubbish start.

Good to see you jellybaby glad everything is ok. hope 28week scan goes ok, it is extra worrying when you already have a DC with health concerns. Fingers crossed for you.

1Sunnydays · 24/02/2016 18:13

Hope all goes well at the next scan jellybaby.

MollieRos · 24/02/2016 19:38

Hope everything goes ok at your next scan jellybaby, it sounds like you're having a worrying time.

Eastend that doesn't sound like a great start!

Another lovely pregnancy thing has appeared here- clear liquid coming from my nipples! Google informs me it's colostrum... I didn't realise it'd start so soon!

dollydaydream84 · 24/02/2016 20:14

My daughter had loads of hiccups when she was inside and gets them every single time she giggles now - she is 3. No idea why! Hope the next scan goes well Jellybaby.

MollieRos - oh the joys! Yeah it can start quite early. Weirdly I still got the odd bit until DD was well over 2 and a half. Wait until you get leaky milky boobies! Shock

Torfhinn · 24/02/2016 20:24

Ds used to get hiccups several times a day during the last 2/3 months of pregnancy but is healthy now... but he didn't get them 10 tines a day. Have definitely felt hiccups a few times with this one, maybe once every day or so. Little bit annoying, if I'm honest, like in being poked constantly!

On the subject of clothes, I have so much blue stuff for ds... is hard to not when there is so much in the shops. However, if i see anything lovely in yellow or green or orange, even purple,i buy it Grin

Belleboo23 · 24/02/2016 20:42

Thanks for the pic jelly, and hoping your next scan goes well.
Went ahead and got the chicco it's immaculate but they couldn't find the carry bag but for £50 I'm not moaning!! She did say she would message me if she finds it but they are only £12 from chicco if we decide we want one. Took it apart and washed covers straight away and I see what people meant the mattress it really is very firm but because I'm replacing going to order a custom fit one that's softer

MadrigalElectromotive · 24/02/2016 20:49

Sorry you are worried about your LO Jelly and I hope all goes well at your next scan.

Sounds like you got a great deal on the Chicco Belle - I have been looking on ebay at second hand ones and they seem to go for £100 or so, and there haven't so far been any very close by, so I think we will probably end up buying a new one. Where are you getting your replacement mattress from?

Glad you got into the building in the end Eastend! Hope your first day wasn't too exhausting!

How is everyone else's sleep? Mine has been consistently awful since the early days, but last night I was unable to get comfy and it felt like I barely slept at all. I was up for the day at 4.30am Shock. Does anyone have any tips on getting more shuteye? I am exhausted!

Belleboo23 · 24/02/2016 21:21

It was a friend of a friend purchase, really pleased we had it how although it is pink which I wouldn't have gone for if buying new but it is lovely. Have found one mattress place so far which is babymattressesonline.co.uk but I'm going to look around a bit more. The prices start at 27.50 for a foam one, they also do fitted cotton sheets for 6.65
