Thanks sara I'm swinging wildly between thinking it will be ok and thinking that I know it's all gone wrong.

Afreshstartplease · 18/02/2016 20:11

I want a scan Sad

Anyone know about taking anti histamine? Is it safe?

Needabiscuit · 18/02/2016 20:16

Wetsnow it's so annoying, I chucked out my bigger stuff as well, so have to repurchase themAngry
but I'm being more mindful this time, I'm going to continue my T25 DVDs but at the less intense pace, and eat like the Greeks do, less the kebabs!!

Congrats cake so happy for you

That's brilliant saraC8 they got themselves a hat trick potentially

Got my fingers and toes crossed for you reluctantnympho sending you positive thoughts **
**
So, Is anyone thinking about further down the line regarding "down there"?
With my first dc, it was a jungle because dp wouldn't shave meHmmand before I had the chance, I went into labour, so I'm thinking about having it waxed now to avoid the shame, but will it hurt even more now!!

Great scan photo cake

Keeping everything crossed for you nympho.

I'm reading everyday but struggling to remember posters names! Driving myself mad symptom spotting - yesterday I had every symptom going and today I only have cramping. Not major cramping either, but pretty consistent. I'm dreading but also can't wait for my scan on Sunday!

Needabiscuit · 18/02/2016 20:18

Don't even know how I double posted damn it

summeraupair · 18/02/2016 20:29

afreshstart I've read that most antihistamines aren't advised for the first trimester... Though I'm very happy if someone can prove me wrong because I am currently sneezing 197 times a day and keep getting horrible streamy itchy eyes.

wondermoose · 18/02/2016 20:34

freshstart my mw was saying a lot of the rules about antihistamines have changed and told me to see my gp about it if I needed one

It's just dawned on me, I haven't been for a wee a hundred times today! Is that bad? Where are my symptoms going!
I really wish I could afford an early scan, 6 more weeks is such a long time!

Blueskygirl30 · 18/02/2016 20:34

Blimey, Ive just caught up on this thread, it took a very long time! I'm swinging between planning for October when the baby arrives and feeling like I'm totally jinxing myself by thinking it'll all be ok this time. Felt nauseous this morning for the first time, which was quite nice to have a possible second symptom. I previously said I'd been craving fruit....now all I want is carbs and chocolate, dammit!!

Someone (sorry, after catching up I can't remember who said what) said about telling people about the pregnancy and them telling them about other people's miscarriages, a few people have done the same to me! It's so weird! I've had a couple of losses myself, I don't need to be reminded that this one might not stick, I would prefer them to provide some positive thinking.

I hope people who have sickness and other not very nice symptoms don't feel too bad today and that everyone else is ok too!

bananafish81 · 18/02/2016 20:39

Piriton is fine but not the non drowsy antihistamines - that's what my obstetrician said about after embryo transfer, when I had to treat myself as pregnant (until proven otherwise). X

fuzzywuzzy · 18/02/2016 20:53

Those who have sickness when did it start?

I've not had any really symptoms apart from absent AF. Ocassionally sore bbs (varies in intensity).

I'm craving savoury food, just gone off sweet foods completely.

Afreshstartplease · 18/02/2016 21:22

Hmm I'll try phoning gp about antihistamines

Anyone know about eye drops?

wetsnow · 18/02/2016 21:24

fresh
Do you mean for infections? I had some for an eye infection last week... then heard it wasn't allowed. But my mum is a pharmacist and said it would be okay... just don't use it again.

Afreshstartplease · 18/02/2016 21:25

For allergies?

Pixie1988 · 18/02/2016 21:33

Hi all, didn't realise we had moved into thread #2!

I've got the date for my first midwife appointment - by that time I will be 11 and half weeks - is this normal? X

SaraC8 · 18/02/2016 21:38

Ive felt a bt sick a couple of time but ok so far, just not fancying food as much as I usually do, lol. Really hoping I don't get sick as my mum was horrendously sick with me and my brother and I have a vomit phobia. Fingers crossed!

MsFiremanSam · 18/02/2016 22:08

Bluesky it was my comment about people's stories...from my SIL as well!! Last thing I need!
Someone asked when sickness started - mine started at 4 weeks but just for a couple of days, then again at 5+5. 6+5 today and it's hideous!!

ashesandfire · 18/02/2016 22:47

Ooh hello everyone. Didnt realise we had started a new thread! Haven't posted for ages, been trying and failing to keep up with thread! Had a dating scan this week as my cycles are long and crazy, they put me at 7+6 so a few days behind where I thought I was, updated EDD of 30th Sept. Was v exciting to see the teeny tiny bean and a heartbeat! How crazy is it that you can see the heartbeat so early in such a little embryo? The mind boggles at amazing science.
I am feeling really sick this week almost constantly and threw up for first time yesterday. Just wanted to stuff my face full of carbs ans chocolate. Have a fridge full of fresh soup the thought of which makes me want to hurl! Other than that just tired and generally feeling grim.
Got booking in app next week and 12 week scan booked for 21st march- seems like soooo far away.
Hope everyone is keeping ok!
Updating my EDD on the list and hope it's the most up to date one!

Congratulations Cake, that's a lovely post. Made me smile! X

Bluecarrot · 19/02/2016 00:34

Looks to be a few missing off that list ashes. But I'm on my phone and can't copy/paste!

Thanks for the add to the list afreshstart ( my date twin!) and sorting the Google doc banana

punky this will be our second child together and I have a teen from previous relationship. Our first I did a photo frame with a terribly twee rhyme in it, plus a photo of the positive test. ( he was away when I took that test too!)
Love your thing tshirt idea.
Think to announce to family we will get both the girls tshirts saying "big sister" and take a photo. Might be too subtle though!
Have a big family reunion next month but I'll only be 9-10 weeks. Would be lovely to announce it when we have family here from all over the world but just don't feel we should til we see the scan. ( but if I bleed like in previous pregnancies then I'll possibly have had one by then, but id rather have no bleeding and no scans and just keep quiet til second week in April!)

To the lady asking about threatened miscarriage ( sorry your username escapes me now!) I'm really sorry to hear it. It must be so worrying. I've no experience but I hope you can rest and take care of yourself mentally and physically. Flowers With cervix closing again it sounds like a good sign though!
Have you had any bleeding since?

Afreshstartplease · 19/02/2016 06:12

Lay in bed trying to be quiet so dd doesn't wake up!

Some nice unisex bits in next online sale but 5.6 is too soon to buy things! Argh so tempting

Gigglebert · 19/02/2016 07:14

Morning all! Last day of half term for me today, no idea how I am going to cope next week at work!

For those who are onto their second (or later) baby... How/when do you plan on telling your child/ children about your pregnancy? I'm only 7 weeks just now but thinking about whether to take a 27 month old daughter to my 12 week scan or not... If everything is ok I'd love to have her there to see but if there was something wrong I don't know how I'd cope... She is a very bright cookie and my sister is due in a couple of weeks so she understands the concept of pregnancy I think... We would love her to be the one to tell her grandparents about the baby and thought maybe seeing the scan would be fun/interesting to her...

Northernlight22 · 19/02/2016 07:28

It's each to their own but I personally wouldn't take a child to a 12 week scan, especially if it's the first scan you are having. The likelihood is the scan will show everything is ok, but there is a chance it wouldn't be.

From experience, you're head isn't in the right place if you hear bad news and given that they will talk to you about options and what happens next, it's not ideal to have someone there who is dependent on you when you are the one who needs support if that makes sense?

Afreshstartplease · 19/02/2016 07:31

I have taken older DC to scans before, because there was no other option

I hope not to tell them until after 12 weeks this time although with DC3 the older two knew from about 8 weeks

Gigglebert · 19/02/2016 07:48

Northern I completely understand where you are coming from, the chance of something being wrong is what is putting me off of taking her! Realistically I can't take her to either scan as we will be high risk until the 20 week scan when they can rule out the baby having a very rare form of dwarfism that my husband's two brothers (still births) had... Pregnancy is so bloody stressful!
