4+6 today and lots of cramping pains going on. Does anyone know how painful is normal? Some of them are as bad as my worst period pains and very distracting :(

queenoftheworld93 · 26/02/2016 07:59

Hopelass I don't know how you manage with little ones keeping you up all night! I have no DC yet and even with a full nights sleep I'm tired haha.

DisneyDiva87 · 26/02/2016 09:06

I've not heard of Woven Wings Wonder I have a Lenny Lamb (woven and RS) and a Kokadi (it was my DISO Lilly im wunerland!). The new baby really needs their own brand new wrap, don't they?

I hope everybody's sickness starts easing soon.

Hopelass I really feel for you, my LO is 18 months too and she still wakes once or twice a night, she has stopped waking at 5.30 but I think that is because she is up for at least an hour during the night. I'm dead on my feet. I don't know how mums with worse sleepers cope because really my LO is not a bad sleeper.

Needabiscuit · 26/02/2016 10:59

Wow I haven't been on here for a while, il catch up later with all the gossip,

Just wanted to ask quickly if this was normal, apologies if this has been covered already
This is my second baby, first baby all was fine, no issues with labour,
So I'v just received a letter from the hospital with my 12 scan date
so is it normal not to have a midwife appt before the scan?
TIA

Hopelass · 26/02/2016 11:47

Sympathies to you too Disney it's bloody hard work isn't it?! My DS isn't normally a bad sleeper but he's got a cold and this habit of waking at 5 has been going on for a week now. Had enough!

Queen is this your first? I had the pains your describing with my DS. They're round ligament or stretching pains and mine were quite distracting (good description!) I haven't had as many this time but when I was frantically googling last time the advice was that if there was no bleeding chances are everything is fine and it's just stretching.
Needa from my experience it's not normal to have the scan before your booking appt. Were you referred by your GP? Or have you got the midwives number? Maybe give them a ring and explain.

BunInMyOven93 · 26/02/2016 12:23

Hellooooo... Due 23rd October!! Happy to be here x

missybct · 26/02/2016 12:47

Needa - whereabouts do you live? I know some will combine the two, but I'd definitely ring up and check - seems odd that you'd have received the scan letter first but not the midwife appointment, even if they were at the same time.

Hopelass and all others with LO, much sympathy heading your way - I can barely cope with myself some days - during the week it's not too bad but we've got DSS tomorrow - he's 6 so not super young, but has some additional needs with bad asthma, eczema and allergies so we have to sometimes be vigilant at night if he's not v well (which happens to be this week, DSS Mum and me are stocked up on olbas oil for weeks like this!) - I tend to sleep lightly anyway so when DSS wakes/coughs/sneezes/calls out it tends to be me who deals with it or wakes up first to nudge OH if we need to help him out. DSS Mum goes in every single time he wakes to check on him, which annoys OH no end as it's left DSS with erratic sleep patterns as each time his Mum checks on him, it wakes him, so when he's sleeping here, he wakes because he's used to waking at odd intervals. Sometimes he definitely does need help, especially if he's coughing up gunk or scratching v badly, but most of the time waking him up to see if he needs something actually makes it worse. Sadly that's an issue between DSS Mum and my OH, but it does make for bad sleeping schedules!

How are we all doing today? Any nice plans for weekend? Oooh hello Bun congratulations! Flowers

I've had 4 days worth of constipation released today (TMI) Grin - Typical week 8 symptom apparently. Sickness seems to abated a bit and boobs aren't as sore - cannot wait until I actually can FEEL shrimp moving!

wondermoose · 26/02/2016 13:00

Oh hopelass and disney I'm with you, ds is 16m, and normally sleeps well be keeps squawking at 5am, and I have to kick dh until he gets out of bed 🙈 but I jolt awake every time he coughs or yells in the night anyway so even if he sleeps well I'm like a meerkat checking the monitor, if dh tells me he's tired one more time I may scream 😂

climbingcheesecake · 26/02/2016 13:05

Hello everyone,
I had my first appointment with the mw yesterday. I think it was not that necessary, but she did a smear as I haven't had one for 3 years so I guess that is something.

Apart from that she examined me and all seems normal but obviously, I will not be reassured until I have seen the little thing inside.
They really drags these 12 weeks don't they!

Ladycrazycat · 26/02/2016 13:22

Hi all, I'm not up to speed on the thread so will catch up shortly but we went for a scan this morning. I'm nine weeks, one day! It's further along than my estimated due date based on LMP but is exactly what I thought it would be based on my (unfounded) theory as to what my body was up to.

Heartbeat was good, size seems to be a teeny bit above average for the time so I'm feeing quite relieved now!

Gurzleburg · 26/02/2016 15:06

Ooh more lovely scans! Hello to the new people!

The mention of hairiness (sympathies btw!) has reminded me of another delightful side effect of pregnancy I'd forgotten about. Hairy tummy-aaaargh!!! I've also started lathering on the body oil on my stomach as last time I thought I'd survived without getting stretch marks, only to get them AFTER I gave birth!!!! Very unfair.

My OB appointment went well and she said I felt "nice and pregnant" which is a good start Smile Dating scan is booked for next Tuesday when I'll be just under 7 weeks. Last time my EDD by dating scan was 9 days later than that estimated by LMP as I must have ovulated really late. This time I think it'll be much closer as I'm pretty sure I ovulated quite early. I'm so excited/nervous! So far I've only told my s-i-l and I really want to start telling more people. We didn't tell most people until almost 20 weeks last time as we were having so many problems.

Oh, I asked her about Zika. She says she's written so many letters so people can cancel their holidays to the Caribbean. Right now, they haven't been told much more than we are hearing in the newspapers. She certainly wouldn't advise going to an area with Zika and we'll revisit precautions/advice if/when the mosquitoes arrive here in the summer.

Happy Friday everyone!!

JulietteL · 26/02/2016 15:31

Yay for the lovely scans. And hello to the newbies.

Just feeling so rough at the moment. Have had a chesty cough for a week mow whivh is annoying during the day and almost unbearable at night. And the constant background nausea is really starting to get to me.

I'm trying to tell myself the ramping up of symptoms is a good thing. But feeling crap is slightly winning at the moment!

PunkyPod · 26/02/2016 15:39

Wonder ah I've never tried a WW. But they looks so beautiful. I'm really taken by one which looks like a beehive. I'm not sure which brand it is but u spotted it on my feed the other day and was lusting. I have Artipoppe and Oscha here right now although am falling out of love for AP (only ever had 1 at a time) so considering trading it. I think it's tehniki which has a sort of solar system wrap...or something like that.... Def want something different for baby #3! My 2 Oschas are good strong working wraps and I don't plan on trading them. They just do the job so well!

Symptoms....tender boobs today. DD has just headbutted one. Omg the pain!!

So I finally tell DH about baby cooking away in my belly tomorrow! Still amazed I've kept it quiet! My thing #1, #2, #3 t shirts arrived yesterday. So cute!!

itsallgoodfun · 26/02/2016 15:45

Hello everyone

I got a positive on Tuesday this week! Absolutely shocked! This will be baby number 3, I already have a daughter who is 4 and a son who is 2 in April!
Looking forward to getting to know you all Smile

itsallgoodfun · 26/02/2016 15:49

Also... by dates I should be about 7 weeks but I don't think I'm that far! Won't know until the scan X

Glitterball86 · 26/02/2016 16:47

Hello!!! Just a quick update , I started bleeding brown blood yesterday panicking I phoned my GP and had scan at EPU this morning - saw little bean on screen with heart beat - am measuring 6+4! She could see the bleeding as well but doesn't know why but isn't concerned unless I start soaking pads in an hour or get cramps! Booked in for another scan two weeks today! Just thought I would share in case anyone experiences anything similar even tho I'm still worried this has really put my mind more at ease :)

Tacoyaki · 26/02/2016 18:23

Glad it all looked OK on the scan Glitter and that the EPU aren't concerned. Must has been really stressful. Hope you can enjoy a relaxing weekend.

Hopelass · 26/02/2016 18:48

Hi itsallgood congrats!
Glitter glad your scan was nice and reassuring.
Punky that's really cute you'll have to tell us your dh's reaction!
This thread moves so fast I can't keep up but sympathies with those with wakeful toddlers too. I think we should expect Mother's Day presents of mammoth proportions this year Wink
DP putting DS to bed now, then nachos and gogglebox for us. Bliss! Happy weekend all !

Afreshstartplease · 26/02/2016 18:59

Evening all!

Well I am also super tired! I've worked 45 hours this week with an hour and half to two hours traveling back and forth each day

Plus I am owner of a toddler who has been up the last three nights on the trot

I need my pjs so bad

6+6 today, haven't really felt sick much today or yesterday. Boob's still sore and occasional cramping

I will probably spend my weekend tidying up as usual, but hopefully will get some rest!

Happy Friday's Grin

IndiX · 26/02/2016 19:22

Only just realised the thread has moved!
Hope you are doing ok ladies, will try to catch up on all the posts!

Jubaloo442 · 26/02/2016 19:55

Hellooo, checking in as due around 20th Oct. Lying on sofa binge watching tv with vile vile nausea. Only potato wedges would shift it earlier. All for the right reasons though?!??

FuzzyOwl · 26/02/2016 20:08

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

My lo is usually a brilliant sleeper but she has some teeth coming through and a cold at the moment so I have been up a few times this week and had forgotten all about the lack of sleep babies cause! I am still on maternity leave, so having to work out the best way to arrange my next lot of leave so that I don't have to return to the office in between.

I have lots of period like pains at the moment which I find worrying but I know I definitely had them last time as well and everything was fine then.

Really pleased your scan was reassuring Glitter.

wetsnow · 26/02/2016 20:46

Sorry all fallen behind...
fuzzy snap! teething and full of cold toddler forgetting how to sleep plus work means it's been a tough week.

Had my midwife app this afternoon and went well. I asked her what are the chances of another due date baby... she laughed at me! I guess it's unlikely then.

We use cloth too. Found it great... really need dd to potty train before baby 2 comes so it can use the nappies!

fish88 · 26/02/2016 21:52

I've managed to go a week back at work without telling anyone I'm pregnant. I'm quite impressed with myself. My morning sickness is a lot better this week so I've managed to keep it under wraps! Instead of nausea I'm now struggling with constipation. Before today I had gone 5 days without a poo (TMI! Blush) It's making me feel painfully bloated and look 6 months pregnant at only 8 weeks.

wonder I love woven wings but my bank balance doesn't! Seen as this is our second baby we don't need to buy much equipment so trying to decide what lovely wraps I can afford for the new squish!

queenoftheworld93 · 26/02/2016 22:27

How long do people usually wait before telling their boss? I only started in Septemver and am on a temporary contract so don't want to say anything until I have to. Managed to arrange my booking appointment for 10 + 3 but my midwife wasn't thrilled about this because it's 'quite late' and kept reminding me I'm entitled to paid time off if I tell them now. But I don't want to! Surely I can't be the only one? My job is quite difficult to find cover for short term so I don't want to mess them about too much in the beginning.
