After much thought I've gone ahead and booked scan. Figured I'll have no big expenses this time - we use cloth nappies, hopefully breastfeed again, have a suitable pram in good nick, great car seat etc. only thing will be clothes if it's a boy ( but have enough unisex baby gros to do him til 3 months!)
So that's my justification to spend on this!
This time next week! Eek! Excited!
My toddler had s fever overnight so I'm even more wrecked than usual.
And a pregnancy symptom id forgotten about has reared itself - extreme facial and neck hairiness! Nooooo!

goldenpineapple · 25/02/2016 10:24

Gurzle glad someone else has experienced white nips - so weird! Hope your appt went well yesterday.

Exciting about scan Blue ! How far along will you be? I'm so tempted to go for one too.

Feeling rough at work & on my own so mainly eating salt & vinegar crisps & trying to stay awake....bad insomnia last night.

FuzzyOwl · 25/02/2016 10:57

Hello, please can I join? I got my BFP today and based on LMP my due date is the end of October, although ovulation puts me the start of November. However, my last pregnancy was early and I will probably opt for a section again, which means I think am more likely to give birth in October than November.

DisneyDiva87 · 25/02/2016 11:05

Congratulations FuzzyOwl Flowers

Your reasoning sounds very sensible Blue and it's true £100 is nothing compared to the expense of a first baby. I really wanted to use cloth nappies for my first but we never got around to it.

I made my midwife appointment then got an email from nursery to say they are having a stay and play day at the same time so I rearranged my appointment yesterday evening and I've come in to work to discover that I have a training day so I'm going to have to change it again!

DH and I joked that as we're down £18,000 in IVF already, if we're lucky enough for this one to stick and become a person, it's totally going down the mines (joke!!)

Tbh fertility treatment starts to become like buying a house - you start to think in thousands instead of hundreds Sad

Having a shag is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier for sure!!!

Allhallowseve · 25/02/2016 11:33

Struggling with nausea and exhaustion here . 18 month old who still doesn't sleep through the night + getting up before 5am I am finding this really hard today . Just want to feel better. Also emotions all over the place and feeling slightly resentful of dh getting a full well rested nights sleep and no pregnancy symptoms life just carrying on as normal . I know it's irrational I just can't help but feel slightly jealous Shock

Bluecarrot · 25/02/2016 11:56

goldenpineapple im not sure exactly but somewhere between 7w+2 and +5. Hope it's not too early to see the heartbeat.
All being well we will then take my eldest (13) on the Friday afternoon for special afternoon tea and tell her the news before driving the 100 miles to dps parents that night.
Googling lots of fun ways to announce, but some are maybe a bit cheesy!
disney if your eldest is still in nappies you could always start now :) we love ours. Theirs lots of cloth nappy libraries around the country where you can find out and usually hire nappy kits.
If baby is as big as dd2, then we won't need newborns, but if smaller if prob hire a newborn kit
Who am I kidding... I'll buy all the cute teeny nappies... ;)

Bluecarrot · 25/02/2016 11:57

allhallows will you get a chance to rest more at the weekend? It's almost here!

wondermoose · 25/02/2016 11:59

banana haha! :)
I'm feeling rough today, made slightly worse by not getting an invoice for a lovely new wrap that would be lovely for a tiny squishy moose 😕

Figgygal · 25/02/2016 12:32

Welcome Fuzzy

Banana I cannot imagine how happy you must be now £18k wow just wow!!

8 weeks today had to tell the dentist this morning as she wanted to do Xrays, had to try and do it discreetly from DS who has no idea and shall continue like that as long as I can manage to hide it from him as even at 12 weeks it is just such a long time until 40 weeks for a 4yo. If I can avoid him being told until 20 weeks I will but I suspect as soon as anyone else knows they will speak to him about being a big brother.

MsFiremanSam · 25/02/2016 13:40

Welcome Fuzzy!
Sorry lots of people are feeling rough. Still feeling really sick too - agh, it's endless!
Just been to see my midwife for booking in - the one I had last time has left and the new one doesn't seem very good. She kept forgetting things and she's sent the bloods man away so I have to go back for bloods in two weeks. She was also not very subtle - in the middle of me talking about my last labour she suddenly interjected with 'is your husband violent to you?' !! Not filled with confidence!

PunkyPod · 25/02/2016 14:05

wonder which wrap brand were you hoping to get an invoice from?? I love wraps too :)

blue I cloth bummed my first. Absolutely loved it however we moved house and had lots of work being done to our house when I had DS. I felt too unorganised to do cloth so he's been in sposies so far (14 months). I'm defo looking to switch to cloth with him when we get the right time. but right now he's still in the 'spare' room which is due to have the plaster ripped off soon so again just not the right time. Even if I don't put him in cloth I'm hoping to get back to it with #3.

Tacoyaki · 25/02/2016 14:15

Hi all and welcome Fuzzy. Just been for my early scan, which I was referred for because my endometriosis makes an ectopic pregnancy a bit more likely. Pleased to say everything looked fine and it was all in the right place.

I was 7+1 based on LMP but embryo suggests I'm actually 5+6, and it had a little flickering heartbeat already. They noticed a little bruise in my uterus where the embryo had implanted, which can cause a bit of bleeding sometimes, so suggested I come back if there was any spotting. Thought I'd share that in case it's reassuring to know what one possible cause of spotting could be.

The bit on the picture with a little measurement saying CRL is the embryo - not even half a centimetre. My OH is calling it Pinto now, as in pinto bean. I do feel more connected and more calm now, knowing there is something there, but the sonographer did make a point of saying, about three times, everything looks fine today but she can't say what would happen tomorrow, which really confused my OH who said when we left "what's happening tomorrow, do we have to come back?".

MsFiremanSam · 25/02/2016 14:38

Great news Tacoyaki, lovely pic!

Tomkat79 · 25/02/2016 15:14

Lovely pic tako
I think that's quite usual speak from sonographer at early scans. I work in the unit and we always stress that right here right now things are doing ok, but as it's still so early they don't want to give false hope that all is now plain selling from here and m/c risk is still there. I wouldn't worry though that they saw something they were concerned about. Does that make sense?

Tacoyaki · 25/02/2016 15:16

It does Tomkat, thanks!

bananafish81 · 25/02/2016 15:34

Beautiful Tacoyaki - it's quite something to see!!

I think cautiously optimistic is probably how we felt after our scan on Tues - we are by no means out of the woods yet, but seeing a good strong heartbeat is certainly very encouraging

Apparently our Panorama test includes a scan, that's at 10w exactly, so just got to hope it sits tight for another 2.5 weeks. Then another 2.5 weeks until the NHS scan. The 2ww takes on a whole new meaning!!

wondermoose · 25/02/2016 16:11

Aww taco yay for your little pinto :)

punky it's woven wings, I wanted cotton tail! It looks so lovely :)

missybct · 25/02/2016 17:19

Awww Taco lovely scan of bean! Bless your OH.

I still feel tentative and I'm 9 weeks on Sunday, with a viability scan confirmed with heartbeat. I think it's natural for us to have that slight sense of not wanting to jinx - I still haven't bought anything or really planned anything - we've had Booking In appointment but that's about it - HR know I'm pregnant and have asked me to think about Maternity Leave but I haven't the foggiest right now. To be honest, as soon as we tell DSS, that's when it'll become real for me I think - at the moment, it still feels a bit unreal.

A girl at work has guessed though - I've had sickness bands on a couple of times and we work together on some projects, so she just came out with it (which made me laugh, she felt so awkward once I'd answered) and said "Are you pregnant?" - I just went "Yup" and smiled but told her to kept quiet about it as it's not common knowledge around work, and me and OH work at the same place.

My symptoms have waned a bit - well, the sickness anyway - I had a couple of hairy moments over the weekend but it's really dissipated now, although it tends to peak if I have meals/tired. I mainly just feel tired, constipated and a bit moody still...

SimileMilly · 25/02/2016 17:29

missybct we're due date buddies and I could have written your post! Although my sickness seems worse if I don't eat and I caved and bought some maternity vests/leggings today. I was sick 24/7 from day 1 with DD that I'm a bit worried I haven't actually been sick this time, just feeling nauseous off and on.

Planeteer · 25/02/2016 18:45

Blue I feel your pain on the hairiness thing. No thanks, face, now is not the time to see what I look like with a beard! Angry

Lovely scan pic taco, really glad everything's ok. We're only a couple of days apart I think, I'm 6+1 today. Waiting to get letter from midwife for booking in appt and trying to be patient, haha!

Nausea definitely more noticeable the last few days, and much worse in the evenings. Last night I managed some dry bread for dinner and that was it. Tonight have friends over for dinner so need to a) cook and b) eat something a bit more elaborate. Hoping the nausea holds off!!

wondermoose · 25/02/2016 21:14

I'm symptom panicking again. . .
My stomach has felt quite tight over the past week or two due to the awful bloating, but today it's really soft and floppy! What's that all about? Argh!

Bluecarrot · 25/02/2016 21:22

Would you consider keeping a food diary? Perhaps you are more susceptible to bloating with certain foods now?
I ate too many pancakes the other day and I looked about 6 months pregnant and had to undo my jeans. Took 2 days to go back to normal.
I would normally get a slight bloat with bread but effect was multiplied this time!

wondermoose · 25/02/2016 21:33

Ooh it's worth a try! :)

Hopelass · 26/02/2016 06:43

Morning everyone. Welcome fuzzy, I remember you from ttc #2 thread congrats on your bfp!!!
Lovely scan taco!
All Hallows I totally know how you feel. I have a 2.4yo DS who likes to wake between 4.30 and 5am and he also woke twice in the night last night. My DP also works away and has been away for the last two nights so I completely know where you are coming from. It feels so unfair that he gets uninterrupted sleep and a lie in relative to what I have anyway. I sent a ranty email to him yesterday because I was in work and could barely see straight I was that tired. No better today. Thanks for you and hope we get some rest this weekend. Also still no symptoms here. 5+3 today.
Hope everyone else is well and happy Friday!
