Hi there, can anyone recommend any jeans that are good for early pregnancy? I'm only 5 weeks and trying the hair bobble through the button hole trick, but would prefer skinny jeans that actually do up, which I can wear to work! I've seen some New Look under bump jeans online, but haven't tried them on yet. This is my first pregnancy, so any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Hopelass · 21/02/2016 21:21

Afreshstart it's www.babyultrasoundclinic.co.uk sorry I'm not sure how to link on my phone!

Hopelass · 21/02/2016 21:22

Ooh I think that worked!

LillianFullStop · 21/02/2016 21:23

I'm in London leonie but I temp/contract so if I don't work I don't get paid. No paid leave and no sick leave either! DH will have paid paternity leave for 2 weeks though.

I might look into SMP as I've seen from some posts that I might qualify for that at least!

BigKicker · 21/02/2016 21:27

I think I'm getting old as finding it hard to keep up with this thread! Great news on all the early scans. I won't be getting one until early April which feels so far away! I'm really suffering with bloating and diarrhea at the moment. I think I look about 6 months pregnant with this bloated belly!! Have to buy a new wardrobe this week, nothing fits for work :(

PunkyPod · 21/02/2016 21:30

I get 22 weeks full pay and 26 SMP. With DD I took 3 months SMP and then 2 months with DS. Not idea this time....it will be complicated going back to work.....
I do 9 day fortnight's as does DH so we have childcare for 4 days a week. However with DD starting school in September I don't know how after school clubs work etc. Plus I work in central London so my commute is long. Really don't know how it will all work!

I went over to my friends today, she has 3 girls including a little 4 month old. I got to cuddle her to sleep and had a lovely hour of her snoozing on me. It was bliss.

wetsnow · 21/02/2016 21:39

Wonderful news with the scans.

Just ran 6k and feel good. Now watching call the midwife....

My entire maternary wardrobe was new look last time.

I'm happy to wait for the 12 week scan. Time will go fast.

Ladycrazycat · 21/02/2016 21:45

teagi it's my first pregnancy so not sure if they are any good but h&m have some good looking maternity jeans.

I feel like my clothes are tight but I want to wait for my scan on Friday before buying clothes as I'm wiite stupidly superstitious!

Ladycrazycat · 21/02/2016 21:52

milly I'm in the same boat as you re: earning more than DH. We are hoping this will change over the next couple of months but if it doesn't it will be a matter of the sooner I'm back, the better!

We could probably make it to about six months at a stretch if that's the case. We may be able to do more but it would be very credit card based!

missybct · 21/02/2016 21:54

Fab news for all you scanned ladies Thanks

Snow I'm so jealous - I am in bed feeling so rough it's untrue, except I can't even get to sleep for reprieve. Constant on/off sickness, can't get comfortable/restless and feel all hot and foggy headed. I'm really suffering atm Sad

Keep having minor panic attacks too - clearly hormones peaking as I am totally unable to regulate my emotions too - sobbing angsty mess today. Really not enjoying first trimester this weekend Sad

queenoftheworld93 · 21/02/2016 22:08

Isnt 4+1 far too early for cravings? All I can think about is yellow mustard...

Congratulations to all ladies with scans today :)

PunkyPod · 21/02/2016 22:12

I really like ASOS for maternity clothes.

Georgina4 · 21/02/2016 23:23

I can second asos (they have a sale on some of the asos maternity clothes at the moment) and asda George range had some good basics! Friday was the final straw with me on wearing my current work clothes, everything was tight (massive bloating) and with the nausea, anything pushing on my stomach wasn't helping. Spent Saturday morning looking on line and ordered some maternity clothes. I didn't want to as ideally wanted to wait for 12 weeks but couldn't face another week of wearing clothes that no longer fitted and made me feel awful. Next also had a range of jeans in the maternity range and in the sale. I think some were skinny jeans and some were over the bump and others were under bump.

Tallblue · 22/02/2016 07:44

Congrats on all the good scan news!

It's reassuring that I'm not the only one unable to fit into my work clothing any more, currently sat at my desk (obviously working hard!) and my trousers are unbuttoned as my stomach is so bloated. Don't remember being this big so early last time!! I do look forward to having a proper bump so I can wear jersey dresses and tops without having to suck my stomach in Grin

I live in the Middle East and its going to be a long, very hot summer with bump, eek.

Figgygal · 22/02/2016 08:58

I liked some mothercare bits last time but this time I'm looking at new look next and h&m.

Had terrible pains last night in middle of night but dh and I had been doing the deed so think it might have been due to that.

I was determined I wasn't doing early scans but I'm thinking now I will not got full booking in until 2nd March and need scan before 24th when we go north to see family if I can't get it in time I'm going to pay for a scan and then can tell people rather than them guess as I'm not guzzling rose Grin

Ladycrazycat · 22/02/2016 09:03

Morning all,

I feel horrendous! Friday and Saturday I barely felt pregnant at all. I had no symptoms and just felt normal. Sunday I felt a bit ropey again now today my morning sickness has peaked! I've felt awfully nauseous before but not been sick yet. All night long I was waking up feeling pretty dreadful, tried to eat a slice of toast with marmite this morning and ended up being really, really sick!

I've made it on to the tube and on my way to work but had to ask for a seat as the motion was making me feel dreadful. I'm feeling really quite sorry for myself and the prospect of the next eight hours in my office is not filling me with joy!

wetsnow · 22/02/2016 11:01

Oh no lady hope the day goes fast!

Allhallowseve · 22/02/2016 11:19

7+1 I can't stop eating I literally am constantly hungry , and if I don't eat I'm feeling even more sick . Also can't seem to quench my thirst anyone else?

DisneyDiva87 · 22/02/2016 11:37

Oh man, a few days away and there are 400 messages!

I've no sickness thank goodness but yesallhallows I can't seem to guzzle enough liquid stuff either.

Glad to hear there have been some good scans already, I still need to book in with the midwife, it's difficult to make a sneaky call in work with no one over hearing unless I go outside but it is FREEZING outside. I need to man up, although I'm not yet 6 weeks so I have time.

Must go pee and get some more water now.

Also unbelievably thirsty and queasy... Back at work after half term and am already needing a nap! 19 more alarm blocks after today until the Easter holiday...can't come quickly enough!

I have to fill in paperwork today for time off for booking appointment, don't want my boss to know yet but not sure how I can avoid it as he will know instantly when I ask for the morning off!

MsFiremanSam · 22/02/2016 12:22

So thirsty here too! Tonic water is the only thing that tastes good at the moment.
Queasy, tired, dizzy...I wish I could fast forward time by about 2 months 😁

climbingcheesecake · 22/02/2016 12:33

congrats on all the early scans! must be so reassuring to know that all is going to plan.
what is with the thirsty-ness?? I couldn't quench my thirst yesterday, it was like I'd had a big night out and had a mega hangover.

I am feeling very rough today too, partly because I have a cold which won't leave me alone, and I am not sure what is cold symptoms and what is pregnancy. The combination is quite powerful.
Trying to book in for my scan now too, so fingers crossed it will be soon....

MrBensMrs · 22/02/2016 12:43

Congrats on the early scans and sympathies for sickness.

I had my early scan yesterday and all is well, although - from the picture it appears as though I am 7 weeks pregnant with what can only be described as a dinosaur shaped thing! LOL!

Starting to feel more sick in the afternoon, accompanied by a headache that won't go.

My clothes are also feeling tight, i can't stand anything tight on my waist, so am in emergency slobby work clothes and don't feel great! I am also suffering from carb overload and raging constant thirst!!

Promise me it all goes away in the 2nd Trimester ladies???

Northernlight22 · 22/02/2016 12:44

I've got an early scan tomorrow - really nervous after my mc as it will be the same place in the hospital. I'm just hoping everything is ok and developing as it should be!

missybct · 22/02/2016 13:02

With you on the thirstiness - think it's because our blood volume is expanding or so I read.

Is anybody experiencing really wild, occasionally uncontrollable variation in moods? I was fine until Friday, Saturday was bad and yesterday was terrible - crying, raging, making petulant comments and being overall just a bit of an arsehole Sad. I'm really struggling with not being able to function as normal - cleaning, cooking, exercise - I'm so used to be in control, and having to relinquish that is making me feel useless Blush. I have pre-existing mental health issues that were treated for years ago although I'm still on anti-depressants, and I'm scared of slipping back. Midwife/GP know about them so covered that way.

I've booked in an early scan for this evening.
