Glad you're feeling OK this morning ODog, falling whilst pregnant is horrible, as is falling when carrying a DC!

cant I hope you get a new phone sorted quickly!

Anyone else tired all the time? I've been going to bed at 8 after putting DD down and often napping during the day, and I'm still exhausted! DD is sleeping better, she came into our room at 4 and slept for a few hours before she started singing at 6. I'm getting very little done during the day and feeling really guilty. DH has got 2 weeks off for easter and we're staying with family, just focusing on getting through the next 3 days!

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/03/2016 09:01

Glad you are feeling ok this morning ODog! its horrible falling but while carrying your child and pregnant must be a bit scary!

Sorry about your phone cant, its so annoying you have nearly your whole life on your phone!

Not too bad with the tiredness at the min Gun (will probably regret saying that) but I barely slept a wink last night, DS sleeping is getting worse and worse and he was in our bed by 11.30 last night! (hes 5 Shock) but I cant even blame him for last night, my hips ached which ever way I lied, a pillow didn't help, it was hot and just generally restless but im not a great sleeper myself! How many weeks are you?

frozensmoothie · 16/03/2016 11:19

Glad you're feeling ok after your fall ODog. Must have been scary.

So annoying about your phone Cant good job you have insurance though! Hope everything was backed up and you haven't lost too much.

I'm not too bad with tiredness at the moment either. I feel so much better and more energetic since I've been having Spatone, and I was only borderline anaemic. Dread to think how awful it must feel to have a bad iron deficiency.

I've spoken to my manager and she's happy for me to stick with my original leave date of 36 weeks or stay longer to 37 weeks if I feel able. I'm glad I can see how I feel and don't have to make a decision right now.

We're doing a late night shopping trip tonight to Mothercare to look at cribs and to Boots to stock up maternity pads for my hospital bag!

fizzydrink1807 · 16/03/2016 13:00

I so need to start packing my hospital bag, or at least buy all the stuff for it.

And it appears that my morning sickness has decided to return :(

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/03/2016 13:49

Have fun at Mothercare Frozen....at least your trip sounds like it is for practical things.....ive just taken a trip to next and got some lovely little outfits, I think I have a problem when it comes to baby clothes! hes going to end up wearing a new outfit every hour if I carry on!

oh dear fizzy have you been free from morning sickness for a while? what date are you due?

fizzydrink1807 · 16/03/2016 14:00

yes, morning sickness (more nausea really) vanished at beginning of 2nd trimester. Due date is 26/05, so 30 weeks tomorrow.
I did read that you have a hormone surge around 30 weeks though which also explains my mini-meltdown which i had on sunday

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/03/2016 14:18

ahh im only 2 days ahead of you (due 24th) so maybe that helps to explain my mood too....that fed up want to eat everything in sight and cry for no reason mood? Grin

Hopefully the nausea will subside soon, I suffered about 28-29 weeks and its gone again. Hope you are feeling better soon! Don't you feel like 30 weeks is a major milestone even though 3rd trimester starts around week 27!

fizzydrink1807 · 16/03/2016 14:31

Yes definitely! 10 weeks to go. although I might be induced early cos baby is measuring big at the moment. Got another scan at 36 weeks

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/03/2016 14:45

ahh I love big chunky babies!! My DS was tiny and has always been 2 sizes behind in his clothes so im expecting the same again!

GrouchyKiwi · 16/03/2016 16:32

I'm due on 24 May too (I use my dates, not the scan date) and I have been a rage monster this week. So maybe that is it.

cant I think between now and birth our babies are going to nearly double in weight so it's no wonder you're getting more tired. They're using up more of our energy and making us heavier. Plus I think the hormones for birth start building up too, so that's a lot going on. Certainly my joints are starting to feel more lax, and that's part of getting ready for birth.

Re chubby babies: DD1 was a little chubby but behind one clothes size till she was 2 1/2, at which point her legs shot up and she looked even skinnier. DD2 was ahead one clothes size till she turned one, and she still has her super gorgeous chubby little thighs. DD1 was 7lb2oz; DD2 7lb15oz, so neither of them big at birth. But DD2 fed All. The. Time.

GunShotResidue · 16/03/2016 16:47

I'm 31 weeks tomorrow, so hopefully the tiredness is due to a hormone surge.

fizzy hope you feel better soon!

DD was 7lb13 at birth, but shot right up to just above the 91st percentile. Baby pictures of her look like the Michelin man, she has so many rolls. She thinned out now, she never sits still...

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 16/03/2016 18:45

OK so this is embarrassing...
after reporting my phone as stolen on Monday I came back to my office after a meeting this morning and there it was on my desk under my keyboard. This is either a SEVERE case of baby brain or a really really weird situation where somebody took it and brought it back...I can't work out which! Am sure it wasn't there on Monday otherwise i would have realised when I called it, plus I did the phone finder thing and it was showing as on the move and above 10mins away - super strange! Feel rather silly about it all but actually have managed to get it unblocked and hadn't paid the insurance premium yet so I called everyone (phone company, police, insurance) and told them. Wahhhh!!!
I am 33 weeks tomorrow and definitely noticed my energy plummet over the past few weeks. The baby is also SUPER active (alien style, looking like it's trying to get out through my belly) and I have a lot of rib pain (front and back), and I haven't slept so well this week. I guess we really are in the final furlong and things are just ramping up now until 40 weeks!

GrouchyKiwi · 16/03/2016 19:10

Glad you found your phone! Don't worry about the baby brain; there's scientific evidence that our babies' cells get into our brains and mess with shit.

Has anyone else been having very intense dreams? I woke up in a really bad mood with DH this morning because Dream DH had been a total controlling bastard, and it took me fully 10 minutes to get my brain to accept that Real DH hadn't done anything wrong. Poor DH.

ParsnipSoup · 16/03/2016 21:08

I'm glad you feel okay after your fall ODog. Scary stuff!

It's a bit weird that your phone was showing as not being near and then turned up on your desk cant. Maybe it accidentally got caught up with a colleague's stuff and they were too embarrassed to tell you so just put it on your desk?

Interesting to see that I'm not the only one who is getting tired. Feeling guilty for wanting naps on my days off instead of being productive. My night time sleep is pretty rubbish, either crazy vivid dreams or being woken up by choking on acid or needing to pee. Last night I had a weird thing where I couldn't breathe, so I started to panic and almost had a big panic attack. It was horrid. Overall I'm still feeling a million times better than the first trimester though!!

So today at work my colleagues thought it was weird that I couldn't tell if baby was breech or not from where they're kicking. Can any of you? I just seem to get kicks and flutters all over the place.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/03/2016 21:17

Parsnip I think it''s very hard to tell which way they're lying because you've got such limited information. Kicks could be punches or the whole body moving. Shape of the bump can give a clue, especially when you're lying down, but it's also easy to confuse the head and the butt for each other!

Right now I do think my baby is breach/transverse. I've got a large hard bit at either side (head and bottom) and get a lot of movement in the bottom of the bump (so feet). Very little movement at all at the top of my bump.

But! Feet in the ribs are quite easy to distinguish, IME.

OP posts:
Everythinggettingbigger · 17/03/2016 08:54

Glad you found your found, I think Parsnip could be right, maybe a colleague took it and was too embarrassed to say! It cant have been showing as on the move and away from the office then turn up on your desk! At least you have it back now, it will be one of them mysterious stories that you tell for years!

If it makes you feel any better 2 midwives and a consultant couldn't quite work out whether they were feeling a bum or a head at the weekend, it wasn't until the scan that they realised he is breach. But I had said to my DP I was pretty certain he had turned round because I felt him do it a few nights ago lol

he is slightly sideways though as I have a lump sticking out of my right side (his head)

GrouchyKiwi · 17/03/2016 14:32

I have a very sore bump today, and I'm utterly shattered. DH and I are supposed to be going out to see a friend in a musical of Legally Blonde tonight but I am not sure I want to any more. :/

SIL is coming to look after the children so I'll suggest she goes with DH instead if I am not up to it.

OP posts:
Everythinggettingbigger · 17/03/2016 15:17

Just general tiredness Grouchy?

My bump feels sore if the baby is really close if that makes sense, its sensitive to the touch, which he has been with his head sticking out of my right side for days now!

GunShotResidue · 17/03/2016 22:01

Parsnip I've never really had a clue which way this baby or DD was. Sometimes I'm sure he must be one way, then there will be a massive kick elsewhere that suggests he's completely different.

Managed to convince DD to nap this afternoon (not just so I could nap, also because she was throwing a paddy about everything) but still feel exhausted. 9 weeks to go, so now in single figures!

GrouchyKiwi · 17/03/2016 23:36

I think just general tiredness, Everything.

Went to the musical. It was lots of fun and our friend was fabulous in it.

Nicky333 · 18/03/2016 10:26

I was always feeling kicks on my right side but now they're more at the top. She does move around a lot though, lots of alien bulgings. Which I like but which makes other people say 'Ewwww!'.

I've got an absolute stinker of a cold at the moment so she's a bit more quiet. A guy at work's girlfriend has scarlet fever so I was a bit concerned it might be that but no rashes at the moment. It's going around but most adults are immune and it doesn't harm your baby, unless you're in labour.

Everythinggettingbigger · 18/03/2016 10:42

Nicky my Ds had scarlet fever during my first trimester, Dr told me not to worry, I couldn't avoid it and if I did get it to just make sure I got plenty of fluids. Luckily I didn't but poor DS!

Glad you enjoyed it Grouchy! sometimes you just have to make yourself go out!

I have a 3d scan booked for in the morning to take my DS to, can't wait to show him his little brother!

Anyone on their 2nd/3rd etc what did you do/are you going to do in regards to sending pics of the new baby to family before your children had met them? I kind of don't want anyone else to see him until DS has met him, but as my mum will be there for the birth I know DP will want to send his mum a photo right away (shes one of them people who will be waiting in the hospital even though she wont be allowed in!) but at the same time im not really that bothered so don't know if its worth the fight!

Nicky333 · 18/03/2016 12:10

You could always ask your DP to tell his mum not to share it with anyone and not to mention to your DS that she saw the picture before DS met the baby.

I'm pretty sure my PILs will be at the hospital although I haven't figured out how to ask DH to tell them not to be. I'm imagining they will come regardless.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/03/2016 14:11

Everything I didn't worry about who saw the baby first. DD1 was nearly 2 1/2 when DD2 was born and she came in to visit later in the day (DD2 was born early in the morning). At that age they're small enough that it doesn't matter. I think your little boy is a bit older (is he 5?) but even then I don't think he'll mind.

Nicky Are you brave/strong enough to say you don't want visitors if your PILs come to visit when you're not ready for them? Your DH should be willing to stand up for what you need; after all, you're the one who'll be doing all the hardwork and it's up to you who you see.

I'm sitting with my feet up after spending two hours doing gardening things. A bit naughty of me, but it looks good out there now and I'm hoping the seedlings I've planted will bed in well. DH is out tonight so I'm making sure I have a restful afternoon!

Yes, I'm strong, brave and stubborn as hell. DH is a tad of a mummy's boy though Wink
