Handhold please

I've started bleeding.....a lot...its been constant for an hour now...I'm full of a cold so been keeping on top of paracetamol anyway but starting to get low level period pain now :( DH has spent the morning sussing out who the hell we contact. The only number we had was delivery suite who advised out of hours. So on hold to 111 for 20 mins before anyone picked up. Preston EPU is closed at a weekend so they said they'd get a dr to call back and i might have to go elsewhere. Just spoke to the dr who said do I want to go a&e or primary care?! I know if this is a miscarriage there is nothing I can do. But I want to know what I should do. I want to make sure if it is it all gets out and I don't want to get an infection or anything. Ffs why does it have to be so hard

Oh Ecky, that sounds really stressful, I'd definitely get yourself to hospital, probably A&E if you're losing lots of blood, sounds like the best place. X

Ecky if you're in Preston there is a private scan clinic in Wigan open till 7pm today that do scans for £35. I don't know if you want to go down that route but I did when they said I had to wait till morning after a fall

Oh ecky I'm so sorry. It might still be ok. There has been a lady on the pregnant after mc who bled a lot. Turned out it was twins and she lost one but the other is fine. There are lots of reasons for bleeding so don't worry too much.

When I mc over the weekend I rang out of hours and they got me a scan at epu booked in a couple of days later. They said I could go to a and e but I didn't want to sit around and there wasn't anything they could do. Scan checked and confirmed full mc but you def want to get checked even if you're pretty sure you have had one. If you're losing a lot of blood or need pain relief I'd go to a and e though.

Ecky, my thoughts are with you Thanks. I had a bleeding scare on Thursday (I was convinced it was a mc as it was really heavy, definitely not spotting) and after a scan yesterday all is ok with no idea what the bleed was. Fingers crossed this is the same for you. It's so difficult on a weekend/evening when everything is closed. I waited until Friday morning when I got an emergency gp appointment and a referral to the epu yesterday but like others have said going to a&e may be the best option xx

Not the best news but after yesterday it's what I was expecting. Had an internal to try and stop the bleeding which helped slow it down. Had a scan and it showed a 9wk baby with no heartbeat. Sad with it being a Sunday there was only one sonographer in so they want a second opinion today to confirm. They've kept me in though cos there is a big clot around baby and they want me to be here in case anything happens. Don't know what is happening after this scan but I don't want to be awake fr anything else. Been awake most of the night terrified I was going to pass it whilst on the toilet. I know it's one of those things but this pregnancy came as such a suprise I'd only just got my head around it and non have its not there anymore.
