Really excited to see scans on here! I have an early private scan booked for Saturday when I'll be 8 weeks exactly. Fingers crossed everything is okay.

Got my booking in appointment on Monday and my 12 week scan appointment letter arrived this morning. 10th March when I'll be 12+3.

I'm currently fighting off a fever and throat infection so am off most foods but trying to eat what I can. Up until now I've been absolutely loving cheese and orange drinks. I have a massive craving for orange ice lollies! Fish and ham are definitely off the menu. I can't even think about ham without heaving but am completely fine with bacon, gammon etc Confused

ohanami · 04/02/2016 13:41

Sending virtual moral support somewhere, really sorry to hear that you're going through this during your pregnancy. I don't have any good advice to add to what's already been shared but we'll be here to listen and support you however we can to September and beyond.

Had my scan date through which is very exciting - booked for 12+2 and with three weeks notice so they're very efficient. Unfortunately they've got no info from the midwife that I need a consultant appointment at the same time so I've had to chase the midwife to fill out all the paperwork again to send to them... I thought it was all going a bit too smoothly!

ohanami · 04/02/2016 13:44

Blimey - in the 5 minutes it took me to catch up on the thread and write my message the midwife had phoned the hospital clinic, faxed over the information they needEd and just called me back to say it's all sorted and my appointment's in the post. The nhs can work efficiently occasionally!!

peardrop2 · 04/02/2016 13:51

How many days are all your scan letters coming in after your midwife apt?

peardrop2 · 04/02/2016 13:52

Ohanami - that's a relief for you!

Annarose2014 · 04/02/2016 14:04

So I cracked and got the doppler out last night. Heard nothing but at 7 weeks I've only myself to blame. I've been scaring myself reading about mmc and the fact my booking in appt isn't till Wk 13 doesn't help!

I'm sick as a dog today since 3 am last night. It just hasnt lifted at all and I'm curled up on the armchair half afraid to move. DS is watching a lot of CBeebies today. I win the Crap Mum award today I think!

Fifi10 · 04/02/2016 14:14

peardrop My scan letter came 3 weeks after seeing the mw, after I rang the hospital and chased it. Initially they said they had no record of me on 'the system'.
My scan apt is at the end of week 13. They also sent me a consultant apt for week 17 in the same envelope so they definitely got all my notes in the end.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/02/2016 14:16

pear I saw my midwife on a Thursday when I was 7+6, scan date came through in the post on Monday morning. They're pretty good here.

somewhere sorry you're going through this. Flowers

Well, I made it to London! Feel a bit wobbly but otherwise Ok. Looking forward to the show tonight.

nailsathome · 04/02/2016 16:20

Booked in this afternoon. I've got an early scan on Saturday because of spotting. Mw has also gone way over the top imo and made me high risk because I've got asthma and am a cf carrier!

Fifi10 · 04/02/2016 16:36

cupcakes Have a lovely evening

nails I'm 'high risk' too and seeing the obs consultant for 1st appt in March. I have a joint/heart condition (EDS and POTs) so in theory doesn't affect baby directly but I'll go along with it as it's my first. I'll probably be told by the consultant I'm massively underestimating the risk but too late now!

SomewhereInbetween · 04/02/2016 16:47

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words, has meant a lot to me Flowers Feeling a bit better today, helps that I was kept busy with work and the kids as well. My two dc father is involved in their lives unfortunately moved quite far away for work so can only see them a few times a year (they're going away on sat for the half term break! Quite pleased to have some time to myself for a change!) I'll be ok I think, just had a bit of a breakdown yesterday and I'm blaming it on my hormones atm! Other than the over emotional aspect I still don't feel very pregnant :(

Hoping everyone's scans go well, post some pics please! Grin Can't believe how much difference just over a week makes between your scans sparkly and sausage

Really hope that everything is ok with you nails and try not to worry too much, spotting can be common in early pregnancy. Have fun cupcakes! Definitely not a crap mum Anna if you feel ill there's nothing wrong with a day on the sofa with the telly on, that is my plan of action when morning sickness hits! Wont do him any harm either, hope you're feeling better soon Flowers Hope your fever and throat infection is gone asap too poodle

ohanami · 04/02/2016 16:59

peardrop mine took just over a week. They'd told me to expect a letter by week 11 for an appointment week 12-13 so I was quite surprised it arrived so quickly (at 9 weeks)

Lilliana · 04/02/2016 17:33

Have a fabulous time cupcakes I'm very jealous!

anna I've just got home from work and have a sore throat and definite cold on the way. DD is now staring at the iPad - you gotta do what you gotta do, don't feel bad!

something glad you are feeling better but sorry you're having to go through this.

peardrop2 · 04/02/2016 20:23

Thanks ladies...guess I just have to wait for my letter Confused So many friends keep asking me about play dates and I've been ignoring all of them because I don't want to clash with the scan. I would be so happy if a letter arrived tomorrow but that would seriously be very quick for the hospital!

Anna - are you using the Doppler yourself? I'm useless at finding the hb but my DH gets its straight away every time. Maybe worth asking your partner to have a go?! 7 weeks is early though. I think I was 7+4 when I first picked up a hb.

peardrop2 · 04/02/2016 20:27

Also, I had a wardrobe clear out this evening. I'm totally gobsmacked how quickly my body is changing this time! I'm actually going to have to buy maternity clothes sooner then I realised but I'm at that horrible looking like I've eaten too many pies stage so I suspect maternity clothes will be too big at this stage Confused

spacepoodle · 04/02/2016 20:43

somewhere sorry I didn't see your earlier post. I didn't scroll down that far! Sorry to hear you're feeling so sad. Hope you feel better soon and manage to talk through your options with someone.

peardrop I haven't even had my booking in appointment yet but I got my scan appointment letter today! Very strange... I initially contacted the midwives about 3 weeks ago so maybe it's just an automated thing. Who knows!

Newtothevillage · 04/02/2016 21:21

Hi ladies,
Sorry been so busy and hardly had time to catch up on the thread. Hadn't heard about my scan date either so called the hospital today and they found me and booked me in over the phone so I'm on the 19th. Two more weeks to wait. I'll be 11+5 then so almost bang on 12 weeks.

Still no sickness for me, still covered in spots and tired all the time but moving house on the 13th so trying to find energy to pack.

Hope you're all well xxx

peardrop2 · 05/02/2016 09:57

Yay, scan letter arrived today. So impressed! Booked for next Friday. Just keeping my fx that DH can take time off work!!!

balalalala · 05/02/2016 10:00

I had my private reassurance scan yesterday. It was so so amazing! Dating 10 weeks today and a nice strong heartbeat. Baby kept wiggling and waving it's hand! I can't wait for the next one in just over 2 weeks!

September 2016 (Thread 2) Booking in and 12 weeks scans soon!
Newtothevillage · 05/02/2016 10:16

balalalala amazing!! I can't wait for mine now! Did you cry?

Annarose2014 · 05/02/2016 10:16

Wow that's a really clear picture!

peardrop DH is useless at those things, bless him. I'm pretty good though, after using it so much last time. I didn't get a scan till 20 weeks last time as the hospital was so utterly overbooked so I needed a lot of reassurance! But I'm not really worried this early. I'll keep trying.

Yesterday was a total write off with the uber- nausea and I went to bed at 7 pm, just after the baby! Did me good though.

balalalala · 05/02/2016 10:35

No, I managed to hold it together! I was totally fascinated to see it wiggling around when I couldn't feel anything! I'd convinced myself I'd made the whole thing up.

ohanami · 05/02/2016 11:51

Balalala that picture is amazing!

Really glad to hear your appointment came through so quickly peardrop Smile

Had a complete crash yesterday evening after feeling much better for a few days. Think my body's doing strange things at the moment when it has peaks in sugar/carbs. Unfortunately that's 90% of my diet at the moment - need to retrain myself to eat green stuff .

sparklystars20 · 05/02/2016 12:25

Congrats balalala! We're very close due date buddies! (I had my 10 week early reassurance scan on Wed)
It's such an amazing experience isn't it?! I had also convinced myself I had been making up all the hideous symptoms Confused

Newtothevillage · 05/02/2016 13:25

Ladies, i can't remember if this has been brought up yet but does anyone have any cravings? Odd or otherwise?

I am absolutely mad for anything spicy. As in a lot, lot spicier than i could normally handle. I also want vinegar on everything.
