pretty I would tell them too! I ended up telling people on Xmas day when I was at a similar stage. It's lovely to see your loved ones reactions.

peamad · 24/01/2016 11:01

Morning all
I would tell them if I was you pretty, especially after the reassurance of two scans. It is so nice telling people in person.
I had my first scan this morning and I feel like a new woman! All my fears have been wiped away and just so so happy. Could see the baby moving around and such a strong heartbeat. DH looks completely shell shocked though, think it is only now starting to sink in!

PS they dated me at 11+1 which is just one day off what I thought.

MamaB80 · 24/01/2016 12:42

Wow peamad, it really looks like a baby! So exciting and I'm so pleased for you. Wonderful to have some of the stress relieved!

pretty I agree with the others, it's so special telling people in person, and especially if you don't see them very often. We only see my husbands parents once every 3-4 months so decided to tell them at Christmas. I was only 8 weeks and in two minds but I'm so glad we did it. Worth it to see their faces, and for the messages of care and support I've had since.
leolemur, will be great to compare notes. Have heard all good things except post natal care doesn't dound great but seems to be the way in London hospitals. Have you had midwife appointment yet? I had my booking in last week but with St Thomas' the midwife comes out to a local clinic so I didn't have to go to the hospital. 12 weeks scan next Monday, how about you?

strandedabroad · 24/01/2016 13:49

How lovely peamad, congratulations! Your baby looks like (s)he's smiling! Smile

I'm struggling to keep up with how far along everyone is - would it be a good idea to add our dates at the end of our messages? No pressure of course if people are not keen!

DH is away and I'm having a lovely relaxing weekend - been snuggling up with the dog in bed until not long ago! Seriously lazy! Oh and he's only allowed on the bed on sheet changing day, in case you think that's a bit off!

I hope everyone is well!

Lovely scans ladies! So jealous, mine is tomorrow finally! Had no reassurance scans and haven't heard the heartbeat so I can't wait to start bonding with my little one! Once I see baby on the screen I will start connecting, when I was pregnant with my dd (13 months) I would play music on my iPod in the bath and think about her lol. I had no postnatal issues so maybe it worked! Haha!

prettyflowers111 · 24/01/2016 15:01

Well you lot have convinced me. I think we will tell them. Eeep! I'm right off my food but starving at the same time. Not sick (thank god), but nothing seems to appeal to me.

fly that's such a long wait poor you! I feel for you I have been so relieved to start letting out the secret this weekend!

Good luck for tomorrow jw

pretty I also agree and would tell them, I told my parents at Christmas and it was lovely to see their faces!

Mslg · 24/01/2016 15:32

May I join you lovely ladies please? Smile I'm 30 and due my first baby August 8th. Have my scan on Wednesday and am a bag of nerves mixed with excitement as have had a previous miscarriage. Looking through all your lovely scan pictures is reassuring me though!

Sophia1984 · 24/01/2016 16:16

Hi Mslg :-) You're due around the same time as me (Aug 11 but I secretly think I'm further along!) I've got my scan on Tuesday and have also had a previous miscarriage, so filled with nerves and excitement too. Fingers crossed for us both x

quitecrunchy · 24/01/2016 16:17

Hi everyone. Just checking in after a couple of weeks of trying to keep myself away from the forum. I was getting a bit freaked out and anxious. Wonderful to see all these scan pics, congratulations to those who've already had them! We're still more than 3 weeks away from our first scan, aarrrrgh! Patience is not my strong point.

Hello to all the folk who've recently joined!

Guess who is heading back to hospital Sad. Having to go for an injection just now and then back at 8am for another drip. Had a terrible 24hours with severe constipation, cramping, abdominal pain and nausea, only been able to have ice cubes. I tested my ketone level and it was the highest I've ever seen it, so called the hospital. They have changed to only treating this as a day case, so I get an injection just now and the drip in the morning, which is very annoying, especially as I feel so unwell.

stranded I've dug up the stats thread and updated my EDD based on my scan. Would it help if we dusted it off a bit? Aug 2016 Stats

I'm glad you'll tell them Pretty I think it nice to tell close family as early as you can tbh. They'll be so excited!

lily sorry u are having a rough time again, hopefully you'll get treated and be through it soon.

Ladies I just ate a salad! A lovely tasty crunchy healthy salad. I'm so happy, I can feel the nutrients whizzing around my body. AND it didn't make me feel sick! Hooray!

Flybynight1 · 24/01/2016 19:45

lily that's terrible!! So sorry to hear it. Glad you're not staying overnight though, but annoying to have to be back in the morning. Do they think this is going to last the whole time? You sounds like you were nearly back on track!

Welcome mslg! You are sharing your due date with myself, Alfie and Mrs SantaClaus, it's going to be a good one!! Good luck for your scan Smile 12 weeks tomorrow ladies!!!

Alfie it's such a long wait still! I hate it! So glad I have my doppler otherwise I would definitely be spending all my money on private scans. Have you uploaded your photo??

Flybynight1 · 24/01/2016 19:48

Ps I am down 2lbs! After putting on about 9 at the worst I am back to a 7lb gain over the 12 weeks, probably as a result of eating ALL the time. that has thankfully eased off and now I'm eating normal amounts again. Still more gain than I wanted though so going to have to keep an eye on it... Just don't want to be a massive heifer at the end of it all because I have the potential to! Cake

lilygirl81 · 24/01/2016 20:00

Fly I was hoping I was on the mend too. Really hope it's not for the whole pregnancy, I'd drop down to 75% pay and can't afford that right now!! Fingers crossed the drip does the job tomorrow

hgleslie89 · 24/01/2016 20:12

Pickle I had salad as well! It feels so good to have something other than potatoes, which is pretty much all I've been eating for about 3 weeks

quitecrunchy · 24/01/2016 21:30

Oh lily that's miserable. Hope the injection and tomorrow's drip sorts you out again.

Thinking of you too on your bed rest Rosie

Well I'm off to bed. Usually I'm a night owl but lucky to make it to 10 pm at the mo!

Jw35 · 25/01/2016 08:05

Sorry Lily you're really suffering!

Today's the day! Scan at 12pm. Nervous and excited! Please be a baby in there! It's been a long wait, I found out I was pregnant early so it's been hard!

MrsSantaClause · 25/01/2016 08:22

Hope it goes ok today lily, you poor thing, you are having a really tough time! You deserve some mega pampering when you feel better!
Looking forward to seeing your scan pic later jw I found out early too-it's a killer when you have to wait so long isn't it! Is anyone else having a scan today?

bearhuggy · 25/01/2016 10:49

Morning ladies, hope you all had lovely weekends.

Lily SO so sorry to hear you are unwell and back to hospital again, sending you lots of positive vibes and really hope the drip today makes you feel better Flowers at least you are in the right place and doing everything possible.

Welcome to all the newbies, congrats and it's lovely to have you here.

For those Londoners, anyone else at the Homerton?? Just wanted to say I was so impressed with the new unit there when I went on Fri for my scan, so high tech and smart and really great care.

Good luck for those having scans today, look forward to seeing more pics!

So I am wearing maternity trousers for the first time today...bought some from H&M on Friday and honestly, they are heaven to wear. So so comfy and even though my bump really is minimal, they feel so supportive, I highly recommend ! Here's a link to the same ones if anyone is looking- www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0300024006.html

FourForYouGlenCoco · 25/01/2016 11:26

Bear they look lovely! I really rate H&M for maternity, loads of mine came from there last time and it was fab. You've inspired me, might have to get up in the attic and dig it out in a bit!
pea congrats on your scan, brilliant picture, so clear! It's hard to believe just a few short weeks ago they all looked like little prawns and blobs, and now they're proper little babies!
lily hope you're fully dripped and feeling much better by now.
Welcome mrslg, good to have you Smile
Jw good luck, not long to wait now. Hope all goes well and baby behaves!
Busy busy here, we've found a house dahn saaf that would be perfect for us so have changed our plans slightly and will most likely be putting our house on the market in a couple of weeks - so am having a massive declutter and clean in preparation for having it valued in a couple of days. Eek! All feels very real now, I'll pretty much be starting from scratch socially when we move as know absolutely no one. Slightly daunting but very exciting!

do it coco I feel like a new woman today in my stretchy tummy huggers!! Amazing news on your house, where down south are you looking?? We are also in the middle of selling our place and have made an offer on somewhere a bit bigger round the corner but it needs work...all a bit daunting given the timings but know it will be worth it in the end and better to do it asap now rather than when we have a tiny person kicking around.

Yes pea congrats on your scan, just seen your pic...amazing! such a cute little nose Grin

lily tell us how you are, thinking of you.

lilygirl81 · 25/01/2016 11:58

I'm doing ok thanks, got my 2nd bag of fluids going, hopefully that should start to make me feel better. Down 8kg since the last time I was in here 2.5 weeks ago.

I'm loving my maternity wear too, so comfy

FourForYouGlenCoco · 25/01/2016 12:08

We're looking at the Surrey edge of Hampshire - DH works in and around Surrey mostly but there's no way we can afford anywhere there. It's been frustrating so far as prices are so much higher down there - we're currently in the midlands and were expecting to end up somewhere pretty much like we're in now, but for twice the price! But we've found somewhere with loads of space but needs a lot of work, which is perfect for us, so we need to get cracking before someone else nabs it.
Definitely better to move now than with a newborn bear, at least this way you'll have plenty of time to get the basics sorted and do baby's room!
