haha, suzie, we interrupt this broadcast to bring you...BOOBS! made me chuckle. and lucky you - mine are still quite comfortable in a paltry 32B! i was really counting on pregnancy to deliver proper knockers at long bloody last - so far, no such luck! Grin

ladybundle, that's rubbish about not getting the nuchal tests done if you wanted it, and the NHS lottery is just unbelievable. having said that, it sounds like you've got a brilliant outlook on things - going to try to take a leaf from your book!

TattieHowkerz · 09/03/2016 19:13

Thanks all for the kind words. Not long to wait now, will update.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 09/03/2016 20:09

sophia that's such a shame that they won't do more for you. I am seeing a specialist mental health midwife from the perinatal team up here and I will see her every 6 weeks until the birth. She's going to help me with planning and accepting that I can't control everything.
Have you tried hypnotherapy? I found that helped my general anxiety levels and I still use the cd to relax in the evenings.

OwlinaTree · 09/03/2016 20:09

Hi guys, sorry to hear some worrying news on here. Thinking of you tattie, will keep fx all is well.

Fizzy I think I only had the down's screen, that was the only result I got on the letter. As a pp said, 20 week scan will put your mind at rest hopefully.

lady how annoying they didn't properly inform you of the lack of tests. It should be clearer really. 1 in 800 is good odds though, you are not high risk at 31.

Finally got round to doing a bump pic, hopefully attached. 16+6 today!

Gosh pregnancy is worrying isn't it! Tattie hope you get some answers soon.

I haven't had any screening done, didn't even get the blood test for downs. I think if I heard all the stats I'd spend all the time worrying and nobody can really be sure of anything at this stage. 20 week scan next Tuesday so if there's anything to know I suppose it will be picked up then.

My boobs are massive! I've gone into a 38G! Luckily I had 2 from my last pregnancy.

Generally feeling ok, lots of movement now and starting to feel more real! I bought a cotbed yesterday for my 14 month old so the new baby can have her smaller cot.

I've started feeling tired again, could be because I came off iron about a month ago, I should get some more. I didn't book my 16 week appointment! I'm 19+5 and I've missed that one Blush

Started having vivid dreams and waking in the night for the a wee. Also waking up early.

OwlinaTree · 10/03/2016 07:24

Oh the vivid dreams! What is going on in my head?!?

TattieHowkerz · 10/03/2016 08:20

Thanks Jw. Kind of wish we hadn't had testing - didn't with DD and it was much less stressful!

Jw35 · 10/03/2016 08:27

Tattie so many people do, like I say it's so worrying! I'm not really laid back, not screening is so I don't obsess about things! When I went for my 12 week scan my anxiety was huge! Not too nervous about next scan as can feel baby moving but do sometimes think 'what if something's wrong' and scare myself! So many possibilities and yet most babies have no conditions or disabilities in reality

FourForYouGlenCoco · 10/03/2016 08:54

Tattie huge good luck for today, not that you'll need it, am sure baby is absolutely fine in there and just enjoying stressing mummy out! Do let us know how you get on. Will be thinking of you.
Fizzy sorry you had a bit of a wobble, and glad it got semi-sorted. Sorry to say it, but your SIL sounds like a bit of a nightmare! Is she always like that or has new motherhood addled her brain?! You'd think on International Women's Day she'd be feeling the sisterhood, at least a little.
ladybundle wow what useless care you've had! It's good that you're taking it further - too often people just let things go and nothing ever changes. Your generic odds are still very very good, considering the cut-off for high risk is 1:150. I think your low-stress approach is a good one.
Suzie glad you brought up boobs, I desperately need some new ones, my boobs are falling out of my normal bras. However I tried measuring myself and it said I was about a 30F or something ridiculous so I think I need a second opinion! Has everyone stopped wearing underwires? Have heard we're not supposed to, but worried about the lack of support. Also don't know where to find nice non-wired bras that aren't sad, old-lady hammocks from John Lewis. I do actually want my DH to still fancy me a little bit! Am not very good at bras Blush failing at adulthood, oh dear
Owl lovely little bump emerging there!
20week scan tomorrow, time is going verrrry sloooowly. Feeling a bit apprehensive, but trying to focus on the excitement. This baby is such a wiggle bum I know it's OK in there, just hoping all its bits and pieces are in the right places.
Struggling a little bit with how quickly and dramatically my body is changing. I feel stupid worrying about it, and I am so eternally grateful to be carrying a (presumably) healthy baby. Think I need to stay away from the scales for a while.

Just realised I wrote that I need new boobs! I meant bras of course Grin although will prob need new boobs too after this bab arrives!

Four bravissimo have a couple of nice non-wired bras. I stopped wearing my underworked ones as soon as I got my BFP, and actually the support is fine (I'm a 38H at the moment!)

I honestly have no idea how you all have worked, I'm exhausted now I'm back, I'm in awe of all of you Grin

hgleslie89 · 10/03/2016 13:17

Four I second Bravissimo. I'm a 32HH now (gone up from FF) and was pleasantly surprised at the range they had. Might be worth getting a professional fitting? You're under no obligation to buy there and then.

Fizzy your SIL does sound like a pain. Maybe she's having a wobble and trying to make herself feel better by putting you down? Not great either way.

Not got our next scan until Wednesday (I'll be 20+4). Really looking forward to seeing the little one again but getting worried now that I actually know what they'll be looking for. In a way I wish I'd stayed ignorant.

Also, found out yesterday that there's a 1 in 3000 chance our babies will be born with teeth! Not sure why I find that so much more creepy than all the other changes going on at the moment but I do...

Sophia1984 · 10/03/2016 13:37

AlfietheRailwayCat That sounds like just what I need but apparently mental health provision is really stretched so they will only see you if you're high risk. I've emailed the Talking Therapies provider who I've been on a waiting list with since October! Apparently from April onwards it will be law that they have to see pregnant women in 6 weeks, so fingers crossed. I'm trying to up my self-soothing relaxation as I'm coming off my pills, so pregnancy yoga tonight and I have started listened to hypnobirthing CDs. I've also contacted the local PANDAs group, which offers support for pre and post-natal depression so might pop in to one of their sessions. Glad you're getting midwife support :)

TattieHowkerz · 10/03/2016 16:05

Happy to report one wriggly baby, no abnormalities on the detailed scan today. Hugely relieved, thanks for the support while waiting.

Suziesome1 · 10/03/2016 17:20

Congrats tattie :)

Jw35 · 10/03/2016 18:15

Congrats Tattie!

Clarab0w · 10/03/2016 18:41

fantastic news, tattie. so happy for you! such a relief. hopefully you can get back to being excited now...

and sophia, i totally skipped over your original comment but so glad you're pushing to get the support you need. i battled against the nhs to get some talking therapy for some anxiety and know how tough it is to make sure it happens, especially when you're already struggling! i hope it doesn't sound daft, but i'm really proud of you for talking about it, sharing your info and doing all you're doing to keep strong and calm. more power to you.

owlina lovely little bump! very sweet.

and fizzy, your SIL sounds like she's being a PITA, but hopefully it's just postnatal hormones making her a bit all over the shop? try not to take it personally if you can (easier said than done, i know!)

OwlinaTree · 10/03/2016 20:24

Great news tattie! What a relief.

Thanks Clara and glenco, I'm 17 weeks today. Can't stop eating today, I'm going to be huge by the time the baby is born!

lilygirl81 · 10/03/2016 21:05

tattie that's great news, you must be relieved.

Can't believe I have to wait until Thursday for my scan, I always start to get nervous before one incase something has happened. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow, can't believe that's halfway through!

quitecrunchy · 10/03/2016 21:11

Great news tattie! Glad all is well - time to relax again a bit now!

Sophia sounds like you're being really pro-active about managing your anxiety! Fingers crossed you get some more support from the professionals in time.

On boobs, I've not ditched my underwired bras. I'm filling my normal bras more but still not quite needing new ones so just continuing with with what I'm got. The NHS choices website says there's no evidence that there's anything harmful about underwired bras as long as they fit well so I don't know if I'll bother with soft ones unless that's the only option when it comes to nursing bras.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 10/03/2016 22:25

Tattie absolutely fantastic news, so so pleased for you!! Yay for wriggly babies, and fingers crossed no more stress for you!

PickleBot · 10/03/2016 22:40

I ditched my wired bras at about 5 weeks, they were just so uncomfortable! I went to bravissimo as well and the lady was awesome. She advised to go up a back size from your normal and wear on the tightest hook, then you can let it out as your ribs spread.

I'm having trouble keeping up with the thread, life seems so busy at the moment. Hey how, must try harder! One of the ladies from my previous mn group is currently in the due in October thread and she says they have a Facebook group going already...I haven't missed it have I?

I had my consultants appointment yesterday and I'm now leaning towards a vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean), apparently they now have wireless monitors, and even waterproof ones so you can still use a pool if you have to have continuous monitoring. They also offer a course with the nct about active birth for vbacs, so I think i'll give that a try. I also found out that because I've had a c-section and my bmi is high I get an extra scan at 36 weeks! I know it's for a medical reason, but I'm still quite pleased I get to see the baby again before it's born.

Fizzyboo · 11/03/2016 00:25

Thanks lovelies, my SIL has always been a bit odd tbh, when My sister I announced I was pregnant, everyone was super happy, but her face fell. Anyway, not going to let her get to me! Thanks for letting me have a little vent though!

Very glad to hear Alls well Tatty!

Bra wise, about a month or two ago I couldn't bear any bra at all, at best a crop toppy thing, but I'm normally a 34G so not one I could pull off in public, could wear a big coat and big scarves to hide my wayward boobs beaneath... I did buy a underwire free one from figleaves which is great, but a little on the full coverage side, not quite as sexy! Currently gone back to my normals with a back extender on the fastenings (picked up a pack of 3 in primark for about £1) and that seems to be doing the trick so far...
However, I've had to dig the crop top one out for sleeping in as (tmi) my nipples (one especially?!) is so crazily sensitive it's been waking me up in the night! I'm sure it must be grazed or bleeding It's so painful, but nope, it looks fine, just the duvet touching them (it) feels like sandpaper!!

MrsSantaClause · 11/03/2016 08:31

Hi all, another one struggling to keep up! I manage to read all the posts, but can't quite manage to reply!

I had a wobble yesterday as still not feeling baby move, so called mw and she said to go in and she'd listen. It took her absolutely ages to find the hb, but there it was, hiding behind my placenta-148bpm. I was sooo relieved!

18+4

Biscuitswithtea · 11/03/2016 09:23

Glad you had a good listen Mrs I'm not feeling a lot either, most days nothing. But it's been a horrendously busy week (ds has a burst ear drum and my mum's in hospital) so it's fair to say I've not really been still enough to notice anything!
18+6. Yikes.
