Brilliant pics Jw, we are due date buddies! I'm glad you had a good scan.

Your move sounds good Four, I've got family all around that area, it's a nice part of the world.

I've been so busy this morning, went to DP to pick up my maternity stuff, it's so comfortable! But these leggings are huge, I might have to chop a bit off the bottom of the legs! I love the way this dress makes me look preggers instead of a mince pie binger!

strandedabroad · 25/01/2016 13:32

Congrats JW!! How very cute. Your DD looks so proud!

I'm holding out until I have my Harmony results for buying maternity wear. I don't need it quite yet and I have this silly idea that I will jinx it. I'm a bag of nerves - results should come by the end of this week. I go from feeling confident to fearing the worse. I don't think it's the hormones, it's just the way my head works!! Sad

lilygirl81 · 25/01/2016 13:55

Great pictures JW

Jw35 · 25/01/2016 14:01

Thanks I'm so happy!

peamad · 25/01/2016 14:20

Thanks ladies Smile I was so shocked by the scan, didn't expect it to be so clear!

Good luck for yours JW especially as you have been so patient! Looking forward to seeing a picture when you get a minute.

Those trousers looks great bear, I have just ordered some for work from Asos so will report back on those when they arrive. Had to resort to the hairband trick yesterday when I couldn't do up the top button of my jeans! Have also nicked DH's jogging bottoms for when I am lounging round the house, not my usual look...

Glad to hear they are looking after you again Lily hope you get the care you need. Flowers

Coco that's so exciting! We only moved into our house a year ago but are still in the process of renovating it so are now more motivated to get the decorating done before baby arrives.

I'm preparing to tell my boss and colleagues at work tomorrow, but feel really nervous about it. I work for a v small company so I know it will be tough for them to manage while I am on maternity leave. Also don't yet know if they will be willing to offer any enhanced maternity pay, so trying to figure out a polite way of asking! Does anyone have any tips?

peamad · 25/01/2016 15:02

Sorry JW, must have missed the last page of posts. Great pics!! So happy for you Grin

lilygirl81 · 25/01/2016 15:20

Still in the hospital, ketone levels are still too high.

Finally remembered to get my scan pics though, these two were the best

jw what gorgeous pics of your perfect looking baby! love the one of your little girl too, so excited!

lily yours is so lovely and clear too - what a sweet little profile! hope you're not in hospital too long.

bear, i'm at the homerton, yep! have only been to the EPU so far and they were all amazing. i've got my scan TOMORROW! (just a bit excited) so looking forward to walking into the proper antenatal bit for the first time...

doing the hairband trick on my jeans today so that link might come in handy sooner rather than later (hoping fervently that everything is a-ok tomorrow of course)...

Mrs1986 · 25/01/2016 17:16

Poor you Lily sounds like a nightmare!! Hope you are being well looked after!

Great pics ladies!!

Pea I am telling my work on Thursday! Bonuses are announced in Thursday and I wanted them to tell me my bonus figure before I tell them I'm leaving for a year!
Could you play dumb and ask them who you should speak to about the maternity policy? Or is it such a small company that you would already know that?

I was contacted by a TV producer today who is making a documentary on twins and triplets and has asked if I mind them contacting me.. Could be interesting!

silverstar77 · 25/01/2016 17:30

Hello!
I've been reading posts for a while (mainly when I feel rough to help me know others understand!) and have found them encouraging and so thought it was about time I said hello!

I'm 10+5 now and seem to have had quite typical symptoms:
Sore boobs, though better now
Faint period like pain
Constant need to eat, especially satsumas, soup and toast!
Evening sickness weeks 6-10 and now all day! Not actually sick just constantly queasy and below par, exercise helps when I can face it..
2-3 loo trips per night
Despite all the above the slight worry that the 12 week scan will show nothing!

Anyone relate to these?
I find it strange not talking to my friends about it all and am convinced that most people must forget how rough the first few months are cos I don't remember any of my friends being ill really, probably once they announce they forget!

I'm 38 and this is my first. Can't really believe it really! I have PCOS but it's been well managed by diet and exercise and a Subseptate uterus so will be under consultant care.

Anyway, hello everybody!!

X

Mslg · 25/01/2016 17:45

Hello and welcome Silverstar Smile

Your symptoms sound the exact same as mine especially with the evening sickness and toast! I'm 12 weeks today and sickness has gotten better. Still have the constant weeing and tiredness though!

Somnambulator · 25/01/2016 17:45

So I am also at the Homerton clara and bear! The unit seems lovely and all the staff I have met so far have been great. Are you opting for the birth centre, delivery suite or braving home births?

jw and lily, lovely to see your scan pictures, I bet it's all feeling a little more real.

Still holding out on the maternity clothes but I definitely just look like I've eaten a few too many roast dinners. Must look into this hair band trick for the jeans!!!

I'm off to an interview in Edinburgh first thing tomorrow (early flight) as we are hoping to move from London soon after the baby is born. Really not feeling very pumped as more than anything am looking forward to the prospect of having a baby and maternity time!

Have any of you planned how long you might take for maternity leave?

hgleslie89 · 25/01/2016 18:04

Hey Jw and Pickle I'm 30th July too!

Been organising antenatal classes and pregnancy yoga today. Makes it seem a lot more real! Got maternity bras at the weekend - I now have comedy size norks. At least I'm not spilling out/having them biting in any more!

silverstar77 · 25/01/2016 18:05

Thanks Mslg, you must be having your scan soon? Mine's on 5th Feb...

Mslg · 25/01/2016 18:44

Yes very soon, this Wednesday! But nervous but trying to remain calm 😀

bearhuggy · 25/01/2016 18:55

Yey som and clara Homerton buddies!! Seriously impressed with them so far, wait until you see the Ultrasound clinic, it's like something out of star trek! Good luck tomorrow Clara!

I have opted for the birth centre (all things going to plan) homebirth would be lovely but not 100% comfortable with it being my first. Think the centre is a good balance as seems relaxed and low key. Like the idea of a water birth too.

Som think we are due date buds? So we could be in there together screaming away!! haha.

lovely scan pics lily and jw all getting real now!

lily glad you are getting good treatment, sending you Flowers

Welcome silver !! Can relate to your symptoms and the worry, think its completely normal. Try to remain positive, do you have your scan date yet?

bearhuggy · 25/01/2016 18:56

mrs defo get on TV!!! would be amazing StarStarStar

silverstar77 · 25/01/2016 18:58

Hi Bearhuggy, scan date is 5th Feb....looking forward to it!

Mslg, be sue to report back how yours goes!

X

bearhuggy · 25/01/2016 19:01

Silver the 5th will come around super quick!
Have you thought of getting a doppler to ease your mind? I got one before I had my 12 week scan as was worrying too much and was the best £20 I could spend!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 25/01/2016 19:32

Jw hi baby! Great pics, your DD is super cute and looks like she's going to be a good big sis! So glad all went well.
Lovely pics too lily! Sorry you're still in the hospital, hope you're doing better now.
pea wrt asking about mat pay - think you just have to bite the bullet and be polite, but direct. Also I guess knowing the specifics would be helpful - eg with DD I got 90% for 3 months, then 50% for 6 months, then nothing for 3 months but I could have them off still. Having a definite plan of what you'd like might help if they're willing to discuss/negotiate a bit with you. Good luck!
mrs you've gotta get on telly, our very own thread sleb Grin
silver glad you found us! Welcome and congrats, your symptoms all sound very familiar!
leslie your comedy norks made me chuckle, I feel you there! Went for a coffee with my mum today and she loudly announced in the middle of Costa "Your boobs look massive!" Cheers mam!
Clara good luck tomorrow! And to you for Wednesday mslg.

I'm having serious maternity wear envy now! Mine is all up in the loft and I want it sooo much but I really hate going up there Sad I convince myself the ladder will fall and I'll be stuck up there and have to break my leg jumping down. I've got one pair of trousers I can still wear without cutting off circulation to my legs! Thank god for leggings while I summon my courage.

Hello again,
13+1 today and on the whole I feel like a new woman, up until 12 weeks I felt blergh but it is easing, except for when I totally overdo things (which is often) so nice to see all the scans, will put mine up when I can find it. Told our oldest on Sunday she was excited but I suspect has many questions just waiting to pop out!

Luckily I haven't needed to put the maternity clothes on yet, I lost 10kg and then got pregnant so I'm just expanding back into the old clothes lol. For me this will be a winter baby, DD1 was winter in Jan, and DD2 late autumn so I'm used to wrapping tiny babies up warm. I'm not sure if it will be harder keeping them cool in summer or cold in winter!

OwlinaTree · 25/01/2016 20:46

Hi silver we are scan date buddies and the same age! I'm also feeling pg but still wondering/worrying if all is ok. It will go quickly though.

Lovely scan pics jw and lily, congrats!

lilygirl81 · 25/01/2016 21:01

Just a quick update to say I'm home again, utterly exhausted so an early night for me. As always, the hospital were lovely, though they did resort to feeding me biscuits to get sugar into me as my ketones were rising while I was in rather than decreasing as they should! Fingers crossed its the last time I'm in
