Hi Somnambulator

That's fantastic news. We asked not to know the gender. We're a bit funny like that Smile. I'm trying not to think of all the negative scenarios as I can drive myself mental.

What great news for you. I'll be getting an email if it's good news. Apparently at my clinic if they phone you, it's because you're high risk. Either way I'm likely to be at work when I hear the results - trying not to stress about it!

Just out of interest, are you still having an NT scan? The sonographer today said I need to make sure I would be happy to deal with a low risk Harmony result and a less encouraging NT result. Apparently it can happen and as the Harmony is more reliable, it would make sense not to have the NT. She said she couldn't advise me but it was something to consider.

Something else for me to worry about then!

Congratulations on your boy Smile

MrsSantaClause · 22/01/2016 06:34

Yes about the dreams!! Last night I dreamt dh left me for a man!! Very disturbing, but have also had vivid sexy ones too.... I prefer those ones! Blush I have also woken up with a banging headache.

Loving all the scan pics!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/01/2016 06:51

Morning everybody, good luck to those getting scans today. Mine is this afternoon - feels a lifetime away! But will hopefully be able to report back with a picture.

Mrs1986 · 22/01/2016 06:59

Good luck Alfie

Glencoco both of the measurements were 1.something so I was happy with that!

I am thinking of looking in to Harmony. How much have people paid for it?x

OwlinaTree · 22/01/2016 07:02

Congratulations somnambulator! A boy! First one on team blue!

OhShutUpThomas · 22/01/2016 07:38

Just checking in!

Jw35 · 22/01/2016 08:23

How did they tell the gender so early Som?! Congratulations! I want a boy I have 2 girls

strandedabroad · 22/01/2016 08:29

Good luck Alfie!

Jw35, the Harmony test looks at feral DNA in our blood, that's how they can find the gender at 10 weeks. It's astonishing really.

1986 I paid £399. I've not seen it cheaper, but it might exist :-)

strandedabroad · 22/01/2016 08:29

Fetal, not feral! Bad typo!!

Showgirl109 · 22/01/2016 08:30

somnambulator Congratulations! How did they know it was a boy so early? I'm so desperate to know!
Girls the dreams!! They are absolutely bonkers never had such vivid and strange dreams in my life some of them have been terrifying!
Got my scan this morning... I'm quite scared about it but hopefully everything will be ok. Just starting to fill up my bladder! Sickness still very much here!

TwistInMySobriety · 22/01/2016 09:05

Sounds scary Rorosie but it doesn't mean baby has come to any harm. I had the same in my first pregnancy with bedrest for a month. You just have to take it easy. Make DH/DP look after you xx

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/01/2016 09:15

Som congratulations!!! Amazing! A boy, how lovely. You can start shopping Grin
stranded what a brilliant picture, a proper little baby! So glad all went well.
Good luck Alfie and Showgirl for today, looking forward to seeing your pics (if you feel like sharing of course).
Can't believe how fast these scans are coming now. Does anyone else feel like time seems to be speeding up now the early few weeks are out (or nearly out) of the way?! We'll be having these babies before we know it!

peamad · 22/01/2016 10:20

Oh no rorosie that sounds really scary! I hope you start to feel better after some rest. If it was me I would be getting lots of good books and preparing for some extended netflix marathons!

I got back from working away last night and first thing I did this morning was try my angelsounds doppler again. Can find the placenta really easily (both a strong beating sound that matches my own HB and a wooshing noise), but still cant find baby Sad Tried all of the tips which bear kindly shared but sadly still no luck. Strangely, if I try too low or even just angle low I don't hear anything at all. Literally counting down the hours till my private scan on Sunday morning when hopefully will get some good news. I'm 11 weeks today.

Congrats to everyone else who has had recent scans, and to somnambulator on the news of your little boy!

Oh and I'm another one having crazy dreams. Wish mine were of the sexy type though, on Wed I had an awfully graphic nightmare that I was murdered by DH! Confused Thinking that I may have to steer clear of any violent movies for a while and only watch happy things lol (we saw the revenant on Sat night).

strandedabroad · 22/01/2016 11:56

Good luck Showgirl!

LeoLemur · 22/01/2016 12:16

Hi ladies, great to see all your scan pics, it's totally tested my patience though and even though it's just two weeks today til my 12 week scan I've finally given in and booked a private scan for Monday eve. They had a slot tomorrow but DP isn't free Sad Think of me counting down the hours!

Loving reading all your messages and hearing many of us are having the same symptoms - no more constant toilet trips but I also seem to be super dehydrated. Though drinking in this cold isn't so easy. I've also had excess cm. Nice. Eating too many treats. Unexplained grumpiness. Weird vivid dreams and finally got tender boobs, which I'm actually quite pleased with!

glencoco you put me to shame with your thoughtful personal posts!! Thanks for starting this thread.

Somnambulator · 22/01/2016 12:29

Talking of boobs, how many of you are in new bras? I'm trying to hold out as long as possible, as this is my first I just don't know how big they can get and obviously don't want to be shopping every other week!!!

peamad · 22/01/2016 12:46

Som I had to go out and buy a couple of new bras two weeks ago as had gone up both a cup and a band size. Unfortunately they are already feeling a bit snug, so think I will be leaving it as late as possible before I buy any more so that I don't outgrow them so quickly.

PS being naturally v small chested this is 100% my favourite pregnancy symptom so far and goes without saying that DH is loving it too!

bearhuggy · 22/01/2016 13:01

Hello everyone, happy Friday and welcome to any newbies I have missed, hope everyone is doing well today!

Just got back following my scan, all is well and as it should be, such a relief!! Have attached some pictures. Just amazing how much you can see, baby was wiggling around, stretching arms and legs and even did some hand sucking at one point! Was fascinating to see. I opted in for the pre-eclampsia screening and got the results today (low-risk) which was nice and very efficient. NT measurements all normal...what happens next on that front, do they combine with bloods and give you a risk factor in writing??

Due date still 29th July and have my 20 week scan on the 14th March. It's all very real now Shock

coco time sure is speeding up now!!

Place marking :)

Lovely to see all the scans coming through :) mine is 5th Feb and feels like a lifetime away. All my symptoms disappeared last week for 3 days, so was worried about MMC, then came back a bit, now eased but just seen the tiniest hint of pink when i wiped.. back in panic mode :s

Almost fainted in the office on Tuesday, cue ppl asking if i was pg.. had to deny as way too early..

Somnambulator · 22/01/2016 13:22

bear lovely scan photos!!! It's so nice to see them jumping around and wiggling their arms. Makes it all feel a bit more real.

I'm a bit nervous how fast the time is going.
Anyone planning any trips away before baby arrives?

Trying to decide whether to have one last holiday as a couple or to save our pennies!

PickleBot · 22/01/2016 14:04

We are Som we are taking DS out of school for a week before May half term and going to Holland for a couple of weeks. It's the last chance really as he'll be 5 next summer. I'm really looking forward to it!

Glad to see so many scan happening - they are really babies!

Rosie glad you got sorted so quickly, rest up X

Showgirl109 · 22/01/2016 14:18

bear such cute pictures! It's amazing how much they move around isn't it! I was sure ours was waving at us!
All went well at my scan everything looked normal and my dates were correct although my edd is one day earlier now, so due on the 3rd of August!

They said they would call me if the bloods raised any concerns or if I was in the high risk for anything and if not I would get a letter in the next 2 weeks!

strandedabroad · 22/01/2016 14:19

Thanks for the nice comments re: my scan. I'm so excited to see all of yours!

Re: boobs, I'm pretty small in that department so I'm still in the same bras. They are definitely plumpier and perkier, and sore, but no real need to go up a size just yet. And yes to the dreams, some crazy crazy stuff - between that and the million wee trips, I don't feel I'm getting much rest!

I'd love to go somewhere warm for one last kids-free holiday - we're currently debating whether it's a good idea money-wise. I really want to go!

Congrats bear, lovely lovely pic. And Zumba, try to hang in there, I was so worried too - February can't come soon enough!

bearhuggy · 22/01/2016 14:39

zumba I felt the same a couple of weeks ago...I was worried and convinced something was wrong as symptoms faded and was getting myself all worked up. Try to stay calm and positive and don't go googling things!! Your scan date will come round super quick, how far along are you now? I bought a doppler and found it to be a massive help just hearing the heart beating.

Thanks all for your kind comments! show great scan too!! Couldn't get over how active baby was...we had a scan at 8 weeks and its changed so much.

som we are going to Thailand end of March for 2 weeks, we have a friends wedding and booked it before we found out about the baby. I was a bit nervous about it at first (food poisoning mainly!!) but now really looking forward to it and getting away for some sunshine. Also, you are Hackney based am I right?

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/01/2016 15:03

bear and Showgirl fab pics, it's so lovely to see baby and amazing how much they do even at this early stage! I'm guessing girls for you both Grin
bear yes, you'll most likely get a letter through the post with your risk factor. I'd assume as well that no news is good news, I think they'd be in touch quickly if there was anything to worry about.

No new bras here, my boobs were so wizened and horrible before (thanks DD) that my bras are actually fitting better now my boobs are a bit fuller and I don't have to scoop my sad pancakes up into the cups like blobs of melting ice cream Confused they are killing me as well. Me and DH finally DTD last night for the first time in weeks and I warned him off touching them on pain of mortal injury.

Rosie that sounds so scary, glad you got it sorted quickly and have an explanation - try and enjoy your enforced rest.

Zumba it seems to be quite normal for symptoms to tail off a bit at this stage. Try not to worry!

som I vote for a holiday! We were thinking of heading somewhere around Easter as I won't be too massive then, but are holding off now as we're moving house this year so need to save for that really. But I vote spend those pennies, have a good time, you don't know when you'll get another chance!
