OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

what a cutie chinchilla!

That's cool they let you go home at least handbag. When I go in that's it, no getting home after they stick the pessary in...Hope things are moving along for you!

It took three hours of arguments before they gave me the paperwork to sign to discharge myself... I had been marked down as high risk despite being low risk the whole way through my pregnancy.

Contractions now between 3 and 8 minutes so not regular but there, and am just having a last rest before we head back over to the hospital. I'm working on the basis once I go in now I'm there to the bitter end!

Congratulations chinchilla!! She's lovely! Here's the thread:www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2563841-February-2016-our-babies-are-here I think the Facebook group is busier though...

Exciting handbag! Hope things start to move quickly for you. You sound so calm! Amazing!

Ignore me-trying to make link clicky!

clarabellski · 19/02/2016 16:20

So....I caved in and had a membrane sweep at my check up this afternoon (I wasn't planning to but figure with all the period cramps I've been getting over past week, the additional discomfort of a sweep wouldn't be too bad). My bishops score is 6 which means induction commencing with pessary on Sunday afternoon if the sweep doesn't have any effect in the meantime...

I wonder how handbag is getting on?!?

HandbagFan · 19/02/2016 17:39

Still waiting... Contracting since 1.30am but waiting for 24 hrs since the pessary went in. Will be removed, I'll be examined and we'll know the next step. Not yet in active labour...

clarabellski · 19/02/2016 17:56

Ooooft. Well, I know you'll be getting it from all sources but try to rest where you can!!!!

2nd pessary put in at 10 after being checked and cervix not doing much. Staying in tonight. Fingers crossed that 2nd time's a charm!

haquoi123 · 20/02/2016 08:15

Congratulations chinchilla!

Best of luck with it all handbag

MaryEllen1 · 20/02/2016 09:03

Good luck handbag fingers crossed it works this time!

HandbagFan · 20/02/2016 12:59

42+0 and still waiting! Contractions stopped last night and haven't come back. Waiting to be checked at 10pm tonight. Next attempt is gel for 6 hours and if that doesn't work it's looking like a C Section... This baby does not want to come out!!!

haquoi123 · 20/02/2016 13:53

Oh handbag I really feel for you! Absolutely fingers crossed, I'm routing for you xx

cudbywestrangers · 20/02/2016 20:01

Fingers crossed this baby gets moving soon handbag

XingXingFox · 20/02/2016 23:26

I second hacquoi! Really hoping things kickstart again handbag!

HandbagFan · 21/02/2016 00:52

Pessary not successful. Gel put in. Likely to be a c section for a couple of reasons but will know more tomorrow. Waiting to be escorted back down to the ward for sleep before my next examination...

HandbagFan · 21/02/2016 00:54

On the plus side I had the most amazing shower tonight, my first since I arrived here, and feel nice and relaxed. And the doctor is lovely as is the midwife who's been with me this afternoon. Kind people really do make a difference.

NorthernChinchilla · 21/02/2016 08:33

Totally agree handbag -staff at the hospital I went to could not have nicer. Kind, humorous, and caring, and so even when a few things went awry (nothing major, just admin/organisational stuff) it was no bother.

If you do end up with a section, I'm sure it will be fine- can't remember if you've had one before? Either way, I do hope you've had a good night's sleep.

clarabellski · 21/02/2016 12:29

Hi everyone

Baby is getting its eviction notice today at 40 + 13, heading into hospital for induction! Very excited!!!

I hope everyone is feeling well (particularly handbag, hope things are progressing!). We must have a few other ladies still pregnant who are past/nearing their due dates?

Troika · 21/02/2016 18:12

Yep I'm still here Clara. 41 weeks today. Never expected that! Sweep tomorrow, hope it bloody works.

Best of luck to you and handbags

monkerina · 21/02/2016 18:52

Good luck Clara and Handbags! I'm still here too, 40+3 today. DH is trying to get baby out through the power of persuasion, with no success.

HandbagFan · 22/02/2016 01:14

Baby Handbag (the purse?) arrived on Sunday evening after three days of failed induction attempts and ended up as a section. He's absolutely perfect and thanks to the painkillers I can't yet feel anything to do with my wound.

Really challenging day in so many ways - my needle phobia has been pushed to the limits and it turned into a real drama -but he's here and safe at 42+1.

Good luck to everyone else! I really have been the exception rather than. The rule and even after a rough time of it I'm happy, safe and will recover in a few weeks. If I made it through I'm sure anyone else can too!
