OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

I cleaned the windows the afternoon before I went into labour... just saying...

I even posted about it iirc Grin

madsaz76 · 10/02/2016 16:31

0-3 month should fit even a humongobabe gone

I have seen an 11 pounder breathed out on gas and air Shock by the calmest woman I have ever seen.

Worst case scenario DP has to find a 24 hour supermarket to buy a different size Smile

birdbrain21 · 10/02/2016 16:41

I did a 2.5 mile walk on my due date and went into labour that night don't underestimate the power of exercise Wink

goneswimming · 10/02/2016 16:49

But I wanted a little diddy cutesy cuddly one! And I bought him a little babygro and matching hat that I really want him to wear! #firstworldproblems, lol!

HandbagFan · 10/02/2016 16:53

So that was a disappointing visit. Sweep attempted but she couldn't get to the cervix so it was a failure. Induction booked for late next week unless it happens before.

i am also living proof that neither walking nor window cleaning are fail safe ways to induce labour.

Feeling very disappointed and resigned now to the long haul.

Sighing · 10/02/2016 16:59

Well I tried a day of spicy food. Yummy. But nothing doing. If anything bh seem milder.

haquoi123 · 10/02/2016 17:05

Dancing!! Put on your favourite music and dance like a mad woman! Such good fun (even if it doesn't work) it's kept my spirits up all day. DJ Fresh, Gold Dust is truly awesome for some hip grinding. Wake those babies up! (I've decided he is GOING to come tonight)

NorthernChinchilla · 10/02/2016 17:21

Impressed and somewhat in awe of those calls from Virgin Wines ladies, seems I have much to learn in the lush department Wink! My colleagues have mentioned getting a special Operation name for when I have my first night out though....

Been sorting all of DS's newborn babygros today gone, with a large side order of squeeeeee! DD had better fit in them...I want a small to begin with one too Grin

Sorry the sweep didn't work out handbag. Looks like there will be a few of us for the end of next week.

clarabellski · 10/02/2016 17:22

Love your PMA Hacquoi! Grin

No sweep for me in the end. I said I wasn't keen having read up on it and the midwife jumped in and said 'great, we don't like first timers having them but we have to offer them and are glad when mums make their own decision about it'! Go figure...She said they work better for women who have had children before and whose lady parts are in tatters

Booked in for induction on 22nd at 40 + 14 although they stick the pessary in the night before at 40 + 13. I'm glad to have a plan but crossing everything (except my legs!) that the baby comes on its own before then!

Saw midwife this morning and bubs head is engaged but she thinks he may be back to back so I need to spend time bouncing about on the birthing ball! Am 37+3 today so guessing plenty of time for him to turn front to back!

haquoi123 · 10/02/2016 18:09

Thanks clara, I'm determined with the sunshine and it being a good day. I've been having more intense surges all day as well, so fingers crossed. DH is less convinced but he's humouring me :) Fingers crossed for you too!

Sorry the sweep didn't work out handbag - please try not to be too disheartened things can change really quickly! mad is a great example of that (hope you don't mind me saying that mad)

This might it might not help but I took comfort in it thebenroecks.com/post/2014/08/28/past-due-date/

XingXingFox · 10/02/2016 19:35

I'm sorry to hear the sweeps haven't worked! Rubbish. but it sounds like hacquoi may have graduated to the next thread by the morning Smile sounds like dancing is the way forward!

I don't think it's possible for me to feel more exhausted. Poor DD. Hope this one arrives tonight for her sake (no chance! Not even a bloody twinge!)

madsaz76 · 10/02/2016 20:38

haquoi is absolutely right - I spent months psyching up for late baby, long labour etc then things went insanely quickly. I just don't think we know what is round the corner and have to take everything as it comes.

Sounds like there are some positive movements - fingers crossed

clarabellski · 10/02/2016 20:40

That was a lovely blog post Haq, thanks for sharing.

Epic bath #2 coming up, followed by lower back massage by DH using lovely lavender. Actually I'm starting to get used to this waiting thing. I've had flowers, massages and cups of tea without asking for the past couple of weeks. He is being an absolute Star

You never know xingxing. My midwife said today that she sees women come in for their check up and they are 3/4cm dilated, but they still go all the way to 42 weeks and need induced, and she sees others whose cervix is as tightly shut as scrooge's wallet, but they give birth within 24 hours of their check up. There's really no predicting it!

Lots of contractions all night. Though they dont feel like the real thing. Been up since 2. Just absolutely puked my guts up. Please let this be it, I can't keep feeling so awful

XingXingFox · 11/02/2016 07:45

Ooh troika hope this is it!

Not a sniff for me unfortunately clara! 39+6 and growth scan tomorrow. I remember so clearly how I felt the day before I had DD so I guess I'm waiting for that feeling. I have a feeling I'll be induced this time though!

Troika · 11/02/2016 07:55

Hmm slept for an hour after I was sick and nothing since. Still feeling nauseous but pains have died right down. I guess they were just braxton hicks after all.

haquoi123 · 11/02/2016 07:59

Oof troika that doesn't sound fun. Can you get some rest now?

I had regular surges all evening which died down and stopped when I went to bed. Nada all night. Some very very light bh now. So annoying!

How is everyone else this morning?

NorthernChinchilla · 11/02/2016 08:18

Fair few BH last night, plus DD's usual hiccoughs, but nothing exciting. Also got MW today, and am 38+4. This time next week I'll have checked into the hospital and be getting ready!

Waddle round town and more jobs today, will treat myself with lunch out Smile

MidnightRun · 11/02/2016 11:38

Nothing interesting here :(

Spent yesterday cooking and cleaning.. Including some strange cleaning jobs! But today Iv slept all morning.. And I'm achy in my legs so I must have over done it yesterday. Lazy day today!

Sun shining here.. Hope everyone else has this weather! These are the types of days I can't wait to have the baby in the pram going walking x

madsaz76 · 11/02/2016 12:37

midnight that's our plan for today Smile

Baby will come soon enough. I am proud that today I finally remembered breast pads. Small wins

MidnightRun · 11/02/2016 13:03

Mads have you had any old ladies leaving pound coins in the pram yet? I know a lot of people round here who get home with random coins at the bottom of the pram after a walk Wink

madsaz76 · 11/02/2016 13:22

No but have been told off a few times for being out of the house including by people I would have though would know better!

MidnightRun · 11/02/2016 13:27

Mads I'm sure you know your body and baby better than anyone, don't let them discourage you if getting out of the house is what you feel you want & need.. I'm sure your not out jogging with a weight on your back, I would have thought a gentle stroll is healthy! :)

SmashleyHop · 11/02/2016 15:07

Ugh- I've missed so much. Been ages since I've posted anything. We had 3 kids who caught Chicken pox, as soon as one would go back to school the next one would come down with it.. Was awful. Then we decided stupidly the living room, hall and landing needed replastering. So I've spent the last few weeks rearranging my house, painting and decorating. It's like extreme nesting!

Congrats to all those who've had their little ones already. I'm currently 39+5. Have a sweep scheduled for Monday. It kicked things off for my last kiddo so I'm hoping it will with this one. Though from the sounds of it, it hasn't worked so much for a few of you. Fingers crossed.

In amazing news my mom took off 6 weeks of work to be here to help with all the decorating madness and the kids. It's been so awesome to have her here from California. Don't think I'd still be alive if she hadn't come- What were we thinking doing all this right before a baby?!?
