OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

jellypi3 · 29/01/2016 11:55

Hope all is OK newlywed

So I'm being induced! I had another day of not feeling baby move and so they suggested induction. I'm on the ward now getting ready :)

Phoenix80 · 29/01/2016 12:07

Hope all is ok Newlywed xx

madsaz76 · 29/01/2016 12:39

jelly good luck and hope all goes well - new baby cuddles soon Grin

MaisieDotes · 29/01/2016 12:49

newlywed I hope you're ok, and your DD.

mawsy thanks! Smile I'm praying it's today or tomorrow!

Ooh exciting jelly! Good luck Smile

I'm back from my acupuncture. It was nice and relaxing- I really hope it does something! I have so many aches and pains and I-don't-know-what now that I can't distinguish one thing from another, but my pubic bone is killing me and (TMI ALERT) I feel like I have a red hot poker up my bum. The bum thing started last night.

If it wasn't for DS I would take to my bed until cx were established, whether that be later or next week, or until I was induced whichever comes first. Being up and about is just a world of pain right now!

Sorry for the moan! 40+2 today! Where do I complain!

RattyCatty · 29/01/2016 12:54

Oh newlywed hope you are ok Flowers

jelly good luck! Let us know news!

I've just been googling 'do some women never go into labour...' I'm 39+5 - it's going to be a long two weeks till induction!

Rufus200 · 29/01/2016 12:58

maisie I had the bum pain thing yesterday! Also chin covered in spots and boobs got red hot, then the contractions started a few hrs later.

jelly good luck

Dr just checked me. Cervix has shortened but still closed, plug still there. She wants me to to wait till Tuesday unless I can't take the pain. Dr is off to do an emergency c-section so she wanted me out.

Newlywed123 · 29/01/2016 15:21

Thank you, baby is very happy. My uterus is very irritable, midwife said worst it can do is send me into Labour.. contractions were hitting over 80 but every 10/15 minutes.

I'm just a little achy, my daughter is fine now. She was very upset after it happened and wouldn't let go of me but she's fine now and happy I'm home Smile

MaisieDotes · 29/01/2016 15:30

Glad all is ok newlywed Smile

rufus could you just camp out in bed for the next three days with DVDs and lovely snacks?

Or are you just too uncomfortable?

clumsypots · 29/01/2016 16:14

Glad you are ok newly!

rufus I agree with maisie relax in bed with lots of lovely food.

Thanks everyone, Sending lots of lovely easy labour/birthing vibes to you all

Rufus200 · 29/01/2016 16:31

maisie currently trying to nap in bed but just not happening, can't eat what I want as I have GD and all the good stuff sends my BG over the limit. I would kill for a loaf of French bread, warm out the oven and some brie!

newley glad you are ok

madsaz76 · 29/01/2016 16:45

what about a baked brie (hence allowed, not that I have been thinking about brie and camembert) and some veg crudites to avoid the carb? Could that go some way to cheering you up?

I've just eaten 5 mint club biscuits for no reason other than seeing the packet in a supermarket and ending up with the advert in my head (if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club...).

I feel sick and like a slob but my pelvic pain is terrible today and so I am justifying it that way. On the plus side there is no no food in reach and I have decided I need to sit down today as my flurry of activity is probably the cause of pains. NOt surprising at this stage the aches and pains are catching up.

Hope you find a suitable foodstuff to hit the spot.

Sighing · 29/01/2016 17:56

Hope all is ok newlywed x

Plumber has ceased leaks. Next to redecorate the bathrooms Confused

Newlywed123 · 29/01/2016 18:41

clarabellski · 29/01/2016 19:15

Just checking in, hope your induction goes smoothly jelly!!

Flowers newly sorry you got a scare!

I can beat 5 mint clubs. I ate an entire pot of rachels' blueberry yoghurt earlier (the 500ml size). Didn't even touch the sides!

Rufus200 · 29/01/2016 20:18

madsaz it is the bread I'm really lusting after. Had a goats cheese and onion tart for dinner, which was very nice.

newly wish I could sit and watch Netflix, our internet drops out between every 1-15mins, makes it too frustrating to watch anything.

sighing great news your leak is fixed

On paracetamol again, lovely stabbing pain going right up underneath me. I have a feeling it is going to be a sucky night again! Will try not to disturb DH as much tonight, no point in us both having no sleep.

haquoi123 · 29/01/2016 21:51

Really glad you're alright newlywed. Your poor dd, what a fright!

jellypi, how exciting, best of luck!!

I've got the worst effing heartburn I've ever had. It feels like I'm being stabbed in my middle back and then radiates out to my chest. Rennies haven't touched it, nor a pint of milk and the only thing that helps is DH rubbing my back. Arrrrgh!!

haquoi123 · 29/01/2016 21:54

Maybe this sums up the mood?

goneswimming · 29/01/2016 22:05

Lol yeah!

MidnightRun · 29/01/2016 22:42

I am on maternity leave! Until January 2017! StarStarStarStar
Hope we start to see lots of births this week Grin

Sighing · 30/01/2016 08:01

Low carb (not no carb) treats that I've had with GD: low sugar ginger oat cakes covered in cream cheese in lieu of cheesecake. Baked cheese with loads of veg. All the cheese I fancy (!) Greek yoghurt with fresh blueberries and walnuts (when family have choccie mousse). I have been discharged from GD team trying to resist many starch urges (especially when it's cold). To allow some starches I've made lots of root veg soups and frozen them to make me feel very full, but not be too much of a sugar hit (I eat them with cheeses/ meats). They are beetroot/ carrot/ parnsip/ sweet potato/ butternut squash in varying quantities usually with added celery/ kale/ spinach. Chuck them in the slow cooker with stock maybe a chilli some cumin and paprika. I whizz them up then add some pulses for protein. Freeze a load and eat a load. They just don't have the sugar/ salt levels of tinned soup but are just as handy for my lunches.

Rufus200 · 30/01/2016 11:28

sighing thanks for the food tips, I eat a huge amount of cheese for my treats. I put it on everything!

No contractions last night but still didn't sleep, too hot. DH did sleep and came out with a great comment this morning about how he thought he would be absolutely fine with no sleep when baby gets here but after one night of no sleep it had nearly killed him! He didn't even go to work yesterday as I refused to be on my own and he napped all afternoon. I think we are both in for one hell of a shock when baby gets here! We have agreed we will do a rota that each gets an alternate night off and sleeps with baby in spare room but as DH has just said to me I don't trust him with electrics in the house (I get up every night after he goes to bed and check everything is switched off) how am I ever going to trust him to do a night shift with our son! DH has a really bad habit of falling asleep sat up and I really worry he will fall asleep feeding him! Baby will never co sleep with us as DH has rolled onto a cat so many times and I've had to rescue poor cat from under him and DH still doesn't wake up!

Troika · 30/01/2016 14:28

Rufus sounds like not cosleeping is the right choice! I'm not sure I will either because dp has a habit of hogging the whole bed and I spend half the time hanging off the edge as it is. I will be doing all the nights as I know I'll be awake when baby is anyway (plus i will be breastfeeding)but I've stressed to dp the importance of recognising when I'm about to collapse from exhaustion and taking over then. Should be fine, it's just those nights where the baby just won't settle where I'll need help. I'm due a good sleeper this time so fingers crossed.

Do we have a baby yet jelly?

Newlywed hope you're ok and hope you've been properly examined now!

Had loads of bh yesterday and last night, lots of pain but managed to get rid of them with a bath. (Tip: after having baby seasalt and lavender oil in the bath is very healing)

HandbagFan · 30/01/2016 19:31

Is anyone else finding this waiting game really annoying? 39 weeks today so not anywhere near overdue, but just fed up. It could be any day but it could also be three more weeks. My DH is out and about living life as normal while I'm trying not to be too far from home, and am too tired and too big to do most things anyway.

Part of me knows I'll look back on this time fondly - I can sleep as much as I want, eat when I want, go where I want - but the other part is just so ready for the next chapter to begin.

Had today in mind for lots of reasons from months ago, so think it's just grumpiness that it's not happened today, but it's a bit of a mental marathon at the moment!

Newlywed123 · 30/01/2016 20:07

Troika I'm fine thank you, back is bruised from falling so slightly achy.

Contractions are still coming every night but the stop once I drift off!

Still can't believe I've made it this far. Consultant thought I was going to give birth a couple of days after my stitch removal Shock
