OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

Do you think if I ask today she will examine me? I don't want a sweep. But I had a little bleed last night when my contractions started. Obviously with having strong regularish contractions things could be changing. I don't want a sweep just want to know if I have progressed because the pressure I'm getting is crazy. I got to 10cm with my first without knowing and 6cm with my second after a few contractions.

haquoi123 · 27/01/2016 13:07

I'm sure they'll examine you if you want to know. Did you ring them when you were getting contractions?

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 13:08

No, when I rung with my last pregnab y they told me they had to be every 5 minutes. So I didn't want to bother them.

Sighing · 27/01/2016 13:18

Newlywed. With a bleed they may well want to do an examination. I hope all goes well.
Rimming? Where is this thread going?Shock
Still no plumber. I have filled up my car window washers, tyres, petrol tank and booked the car in for it's MOT early (due day after due date) so just checking all that is obvious.
Still "need" to find some reasonably attractive bottles to have with water ready for breastfeeding (no idea why I need pretty ones when any snacks will be all packeted and hardly presentable Grin).

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 13:23

My appointment is at 3, no harm in asking.

I had a giggle when I read 'rimming'

MaisieDotes · 27/01/2016 13:34

newly I would ask if I were you. All she can do is say no, right?

Thanks haq Smile I know mawsy was due before me but she had her baby aaaaagges ago

I think I'll be the first overdue person if the baby doesn't come tonight. Which isn't looking likely!

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 13:51

I'm going to ask, all I'm asking is to see if I've progressed she can't really say no. I'm not asking for her to give a sweep as I'm hoping to avoid them!

Hopefully she'll be understanding, never got this far last time and when I was in Labour I new straight away.. so it's all new to me Blush

Mawsymoo · 27/01/2016 13:52

Welcome baby clumsy!

Hoping other babies start arriving soon now! My due date was Monday 25th based on scan but based on ovulation I had calculated it as 28th (which is why I joined the Feb thread). But baby is here and into his 0-3 month clothes already Shock

Newlywed they examined me after I had a little bit of a bloody show. At the time they didn't see any signs of me going into labour but my waters went 2 days later. Fingers crossed for you

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 14:03

Mawsy, I was 2cm with bulging waters last Monday which is why I want to be checked with having contractions and a little bleed. X

RattyCatty · 27/01/2016 14:24

Hope all goes well newly and definitely ask to be examined!

Rimming has really made me chuckle!

clumsy what a wonderful birth story!

Three of my nct group have had babies so far & none straightforward so it's nice to hear that it does happen!

clarabellski · 27/01/2016 14:51

Good afternoon ladies, so many arrivals since I last checked in! Congratulations isla, zebras and clumsy! Cake

Sorry they pushed your section date back Pheonix, that must be frustrating. Flowers

Maisie if you go overdue you should definitely try some rimming! Grin

Got our pram and car seat delivered on Monday. Spent half an hour this afternoon trying to figure out how to fit the car seat. Poor baby had to listen to a lot of swearing, that's all I'm saying. Now I've figured it out though, it's pretty straightforward!

Off for an afternoon nap now. I could get used to this mat leave lark!

Unfortunately they don't offer rimming here until 40+12 clara Grin

They're very stingy with their rimming here.

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 15:21

I told her about my regular strong tightenings, my red blood loss and pressure. She said I'm not at full term no one will examine me. I should of gone in last night to be seen too but they would of only done a speculum. If the tightening start again I should call triage and ask to be seen. (My hospital is 45 minutes drive away)

She kept saying it was just a tinged mucus show.. but it wasn't mixed with discharge. It was just red blood which I told her. I don't see her now until 41 weeks.

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 15:31

She also said I should prepare for a back Labour as she can feel all of babies limbs! But baby is Happy, which is all that matters Smile

Rufus200 · 27/01/2016 15:54

I am so bored and ravenously hungry. I can't stop eating. Currently watching Magic Mike XXL out of desperation, thought it would be amusing and hot, so far it is SO bad! Also thought it might distract me from the back pain, cramps and stabbing pain underneath that is currently going on! Heat pad on my back is helping.

madsaz76 · 27/01/2016 16:11

The boredom thing is wierd. Lots I could do but don't want to. Not indulging my usual past time of eating as baby still not engages so space doesn't permit.

Daytime TV really is something else - so far a poisonous episode of undercover boss USA and discovering 4 in a bed - which seems to be nasty B& B owners slagging each other off.

So have spent ages on a mission to sort through socks and JD er wear reuniting odd ones and chucking out anything tatty - including his that he claims are ok.

Gonna have to schedule some days out once baby here. Now having a bath purely cos I can - would a bath help your backache rufus?

madsaz76 · 27/01/2016 16:12

How the phone made underwear into JD er I have no idea Confused

goldmaple · 27/01/2016 16:21

newly and rufus sounds like things might be getting underway soon. I'm surprised they weren't concerned about the red blood...

I thought I was about to go on Sunday (tightenings got stronger and more frequent, but then nothing).

maisie sorry to hear you are officially overdue. I'm really hoping DC3 comes earlier than the other two (isn't that how it is supposed to work).

haquoi123 · 27/01/2016 17:01

newlywed It sounds like she wasn't listening really - is that how it felt? Are you worried about the red bleeding? Can you get a second opinion? (with you on the happy baby front, my baby's got his own special place and doesn't want to move!)

clara you're blooming car seats! My car has no isofix and the seat belt was too short so had to buy a blooming easy fix Base Angry

For those breast feeding I've just seen this. Really really interesting! The videos on the links are great too. www.mothering.com/articles/natural-breastfeeding/

haquoi123 · 27/01/2016 17:02

those blooming car seats!

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 17:03

She said it could be my cervix opening.. She clearly didn't read my notes which said I was 2cm Already.

I feel so fed up, early night tonight I think to get some sleep and then a busy day tomorrow to keep me preoccupied Smile

These babies like playing tricks!

haquoi123 · 27/01/2016 17:18

Yeah, great isn't it when they don't pay any attention?! Sorry to hear that newlywed. Fingers crossed for either baby coming or a decent night's sleep

Rufus200 · 27/01/2016 17:37

Finally got to the end of the film where they actually strip and my stupid internet keeps on dropping out, which means I have to turn the tv off and reboot repeatedly. I've sat through this utter crap for 90mins!

I've eaten through most of the fridge now. Still hungry!!!

Newlywed123 · 27/01/2016 17:41

I was the last one haquoi, so she was in a rush to go.. either sounds good right now! Think I may prefer the decent nights sleep Grin

Rufus you're allowed to eat lots! I'm fine during the day and as soon as I've had my tea I can't stop Blush

Sighing · 27/01/2016 17:42

MaisieDotes I read a study recently suggesting dates (the edible sort) if eaten in high numbers can shorten labour. Might be something to eat with pineapple/ raspberry leaf tea/ spicy food etc (unless you're concerned over sugar!
