Thanks for the good wishes!

Ambergogo - I am so sorry to hear this, a quick google on the internet suggests this does happen and as you said lots of people live with one, I would feel the same as you though, hopefully you will get some clarity tomorrow. Best of luck xxx

Eastend2015 · 10/02/2016 20:21

I'm so sorry to hear this Amber! Try and keep your chin up, I'm sure the specialists will have some helpful advice to offer. Modern medicine can be pretty amazing. Thinking of you xxx

MollieRos · 10/02/2016 20:36

Sorry to hear that Amber. It must have been a huge shock, I'm not surprised you're feeling lost and sad. Hopefully the specialist will be able to give you lots of information and answer your questions

iamdivergent · 10/02/2016 20:43

I hope it all goes well for you amber

emma85x · 10/02/2016 21:40

Thinking of you Amber. Hope all goes well tomorrow. Bless you xx

strawberrypenguin · 10/02/2016 22:04

Hope it goes ok tomorrow amber if it helps at all DS1 was born with one of his kidneys blocked and dialated. He was operated on as a baby and does now have pretty much full functionality in it (and his other was unaffected). There was another baby on the ward when he had his op who was having one of his kidneys removed. Prognosis for him was very good. Obviously there might be a few extra things to be aware of as baby grows up but as hard as it is in my limited experience I don't think it's as bad as it seems either.
Hope that makes sense, I know how awful unexpected surprises at scan are Brew and Flowers

Mrspopper · 11/02/2016 07:46

Good luck amber. St George's are great our DD had lots of detailed scans there, you are in good hands. Hope it goes well. X

nehagarg · 11/02/2016 08:17

Anyone else using Bio-oil and getting really itchy? I was perfectly fine using it everyday for the past 4 months and then suddenly as of last week, it got me really itchy for a few hours after I put it on Confused. Tried another moisturiser yesterday and it was fine ... Not sure what's going on. Going to go back to my coconut oil, shea butter homemade concoction but its very weird that bio-oil suddenly turned nasty.

mrsmugoo · 11/02/2016 09:53

I've never had that with bio- oil but I have been very itchy across the sides of my bump - I guess it's just stretching quite a bit now!

My irritating current symptoms are 1) constant too much saliva in my mouth. It's gross. 2) trapped nerve in my bum cheek that twinges when I walk :(

JellyBaby26 · 11/02/2016 10:44

The itching will be your skin which will be unavoidable. I haven't bothered moisturising this time. I covered myself last time and I look like a fucking tiger!

mrsmugoo · 11/02/2016 11:04

I got some epic stretch marks in the last few weeks last time but they're hardly noticeable now - just silvery. I actually don't mind them - badge of honour!

nehagarg · 11/02/2016 11:13

Thats just the thing jellybaby. I am not itchy all the time, only for a couple of hours after I put bio-oil on. Was fine yesterday with another moisturiser. No stretch marks yet but that can change overnight!

Mrsmugoo .. That sounds really painful. Could you not ask your midwife to refer you to a physio for help?

24+3 today. This one is still a party animal one day and quiet as a mouse the next. Though I do feel some movement every day now even if there isnt a set pattern. Patience! Patience!

Good Luck Amber, both my Dad and I were born with only one kidney. We have both been absolutely fine and only found out in adulthood during un related scans. I'm sure it'll just be something that they want to check on for piece of mind x

LouLou030783 · 11/02/2016 13:28

Hope all goes well today Amber x

JellyBaby26 · 11/02/2016 14:44

Could it be reacting with newly stretched skin maybe?

I used some mamamio (I think that's what it was called anyway) stuff last time which was nice...

A girl on my old bus just posted her birth video and it just made me cry so much. The moment they come out you are just filled with so much love for them! I'm so excited to have my vagina ripped open again!!

mrsmugoo · 11/02/2016 14:51

I'm ridiculously excited to have a newborn again jelly! Where I work has a cafe/bar on the street level with lots of mums and babies popping in/out as it's very breastfeeding friendly and recently I'm positively gaga over the newborns!

nehagarg · 11/02/2016 14:54

Possibly Jellybaby .. That would explain why it was okay for 4 months and then suddenly became the oil of hell!

I am a first timer. Still very scared of the prospect and very aware that the baby is getting bigger and there is only one way out.

OP posts:
Eastend2015 · 11/02/2016 15:11

Nehagarg Haha! As a first timer too I was explicitly NOT thinking about that part!!

laughingGnomette · 11/02/2016 15:17

Haha!! Well technically there are two ways out but both are pretty terrifying! :)

emma85x · 11/02/2016 15:24

Hope all is going well for you today Amber

Does anyone else have an anterior placenta? I hardly feel any movements and I'm wondering when I will with an AP? I'm 22 weeks today. Does anyone have any experience of this?

laughingGnomette · 11/02/2016 15:25

I've been in meetings all day at work and found out that the project I'm working on now has a deadline of my due date!! I'm secretly thrilled to be handing it over and not having to worry about deadline crap Grin
