Feel for you MrsBen. I hope you get to your 38 weeks. Is there a chance you could go back to work or will you have to start maternity leave early?

IndomitabIe · 12/01/2016 19:55

Wow, Beaut, normal result is fantastic! Hoping for more of the same!

Oh no, 60 essays, marmite. That sounds awful! tries not to think about the 120 controlled assessment papers I'll have by the end of the week

Oh Trinpy, that's killer when you're just drifting off. And 3am? What a nightmare.

I think my birth was similar to yours: big-ish baby but mainly the rush due to meconium. Hoping for a slower delivery this time.

Oh yes, DS had (still has) a 90th centile head. That might have had something to do with it. I do remember, however, that at some point the midwife asked me if I still needed to be taking the ibuprofen for the stitches, and I confessed that the tear had healed nicely and I was continuing the ibuprofen because it took the edge off my nipples! So must've been within the first 4 weeks that it healed.

Regarding the hunger, I remember last time I got to a point when I was taking a "packed lunch" to bed with me for when I woke up starving overnight!

maybe & rosie, it is perfectly possible to do it all without drugs. I had a whiff of gas & air during the ambulance transfer ( which wasn't at all scary, btw) and it did nothing for me, so I carried on with just breathing and whinging! I then had a spinal for the repairs - it was brilliant! I was very wary of taking any medication too. I was very glad to have done it without, but wouldn't judge anyone else on that basis! Think the hypno stuff really helped.

"My hubby says I've started making making noises in my sleep too" gem - DH has said the same thing to me!

Oh no MrsBen. Fingers crossed for you.

I need to get some work done and get to bed ASAP. Need more sleep!

Paperblank · 12/01/2016 21:04

MrsBen fingers crossed for you x

To the members of the BSC...I sent DH to pick up the Tesco click and collect shopping on Sunday. £70 worth of shopping but nothing you could make a meal with...plenty of grapes, cheese, pineapple, breadsticks etc for me but DH needs proper man dinners. I did not buy anything remotely man dinner-ish. I am ploughing my way through 6 or 7 little meals a day and a bag of percy pigs every now and then Goodness knows how much I'll eat if I BF!

Ok yesterday I got to page 8, you were all on page 14 so thought I was in with a shot if catching up but now you're all on 18!!

So I'm posting now while I get the chance and will add more when I'm up to speed.

I'm also in the crap sleep club. Specifically my knees are REALLY achy and painful. Is anyone else gettig this??

Also had first real freak out about giving birth yesterday. I'm due 20th March and at 30 weeks now so it's just starting to feel very real :p keep telling myself loads of women go through it!

My last day isn't until 4th March. Feels forever away! Very jealous of you ladies finishing end of Jan.

Have just started going to pregnant yoga as feeling guilty about lack of exercise in last few months. Has anyone started nct/antenatal? Mine aren't until start of Feb. Looking forward to doing them and meeting other mums to be.

ffauxlivia · 12/01/2016 21:40

neh I don't even have a finish date - here until the day I go into labour, even if I'm late! Another 10+ weeks Sad

Also #2 reason why the US sucks - they don't have gas and air Shock Some hospitals are bringing it in and mine is trialling it sometime "in the Spring" so not holding out much hope - it's drugs or nothing for me!

neh did our birthing classes last month and found them really helpful, but there were too many couples there to really make friends, no-one seemed interested. So after baby is born I'm thinking of taking a local newborn class - not so much for the education but for the craic! There will be about 6-7 mums with new babies - it costs $150 (£100) but think it might be worth it to meet people, as all my mum friends are so far away and will need support here!

IndomitabIe · 12/01/2016 22:23

I'm with you ffaux, till the Easter holidays (40+1). We can do this!

And a newborn class sounds good. I met my mum-friends (or, as they're now known, "friends"!) at local baby groups.

Forgot to mention, I loved seeing people's babies. Thanks for sharing! I went and looked through my pics of DS, he was such a short, chunky little thing. I know having a newborn/baby/toddler was hard work, but the pictures make it seems just wonderful. Oh, nostalgia!

neh205 · 13/01/2016 00:09

Yay! I finally caught up! Baby photos are gorgeous. Won't be long before we are all posting new born pics!

ffauxlivia · 13/01/2016 01:15

indom yay, a work until the bitter end buddy, I think we are due around the same time too (I'm 24th March)

I wonder if any of us will have a leap year baby Smile

MyNameIsSuz · 13/01/2016 06:41

Oh god ffaux, I'd have to be ten days early for a leap baby which is totally possible, I really hope not. My dad keeps banging on about it every time I speak to him, I think he thinks it would be an exciting novelty, I just think it would be a pain!

Sorry I'm crabby, terrible sleep again, really weird dreams and kept half waking up with crazy heartburn. Urgh. Hope everyone else is feeling better than I am today!

BeautifulLiar · 13/01/2016 06:48

Nope, mardy cow over here too Suz! (Although I wouldn't mind a leap year baby as all my others have been born on the 29th of 9th!).

Didn't get much sleep :( blocked nose, lots of coughing. I'm pretty covered in snot right now, nice. And DD2 got into bed with me at 3am Confused it was her first night in knickers last night and I think she might be try, I'll be so proud of her if she is! although her older sister is still in pull ups

Good luck today MrsBen!

BeautifulLiar · 13/01/2016 06:49

Fuck, so many typos. Evidence of how tired I am, ha!

IndomitabIe · 13/01/2016 06:53

Well remembered ffaux, I'm due 23/3. So 30 weeks today! (Feels like the penultimate mental milestone - next one being term at 37 weeks!)

Sorry to hear about the snot, Beaut but well done to your DD if she is dry (DS still can't manage it).

Me624 · 13/01/2016 08:09

My due date is 4/3 so I would only need to be 4 days early to have a leap year baby! DH thinks it would be fun.

Sorry for all the crap nights sleep again! Mine was slightly better, I only woke up twice and was not awake for too long each time. I must have slept a bit awkwardly though as I've woken up with lower back pain. DH is also coming down with a cold so really hoping he does not pass it on to me!

neh205 · 13/01/2016 08:22

ffaux & indom keep powering on. I would have worked longer if possible but was told I had to be out if the office 2 weeks prior to the week of my due date. Think I'll be ready for it by then as commute into London is 1.5 hrs and I'm still doing 11/12 hr days at the mo :p

How are you today mrsben?

Feel better soon beaut

Hope everyone had a better night sleep.

Here are my 3d scan photos. Worth every penny! We got a dvd of him moving too. So cute. He was rubbing his face, sticking out his tongue (we could actually see his tongue, how incredible is that?!!) And of course doing lots of high kicks. Really helped me to bond with the baby. Would love to see him again but think will have to wait until d day now!

Crispylicious · 13/01/2016 08:24

Checked into CSC again last night, although not as bad as the night before...

  1. The first rule of CSC is that we don't talk about CSC.
  1. The second rule is do not look at your watch...

indom and ff I'm due 22nd, so just ahead of you. Reckon we'll have Easter babies?! I am however finishing in the 25 Feb, but have a bastard long commute that I'm already struggling with!

Crispylicious · 13/01/2016 08:27

Aw he's so cute neh! Totally agree about the scan helping bonding. Mine reminded me I have a real baby in there! I commute into London too, about 1hr45 door to door each way. I've now started demanded seats from people, as have decided I'm too preggers to stand Grin

TriJo · 13/01/2016 08:48

I'm convinced my little guy is going to be an Easter weekend baby tbh! I'm due the 20th, standard deviation for pregnancy length is around 5 days, it's my first so expecting to go over...

Hubby heading away for a week with his friends today, they're up in Liverpool for a football match tonight then flying to Tenerife from Manchester in the morning. Gits, I'd love some warm sun right about now - it's forecast to be 28c there tomorrow and 27 on Friday! Gonna enjoy the quiet though and take it as a chance to get some stuff done around the house and do some shopping for baby stuff.

gemsparkle84 · 13/01/2016 08:50

Morning everyone!

Re the leap year I'm due 2nd March so very possible for me! Grin

Not to bad sleep woke up more times than I counted (a lot) but managed to get to sleep each time. I think I'm probably waking every hour but I get back to sleep which is the main thing for me.

Neh love the 3d scan pics they're gorgeous.

Absolutely love the baby pics everyone.

I had planned to start my leave on 7th feb however I'm now being pressurised to leave a bit earlier. I mentioned before I help run a family business (restaurant). Now they've found someone who they think can cover me and they want me to go off!!!

Have a great day all xx

Rosieblossom123 · 13/01/2016 10:29

I knew it was too good to be true having a good night sleep the other day as last night was awful. From leg pains to stressing out about maternity pay arghhh I'm driving myself mad!! I wish I could just switch off. Although I did enjoy my little acrobat's late night kicks Grin

reg leap year, it's 6 days before my due date so its very possible, I hope not though!!

neh I love the scan picture, I had one done too but at 26 weeks and I love it can't stop staring at it :) I'll post it later.

MrsBen fingers crossed for you Flowers

QforCucumber · 13/01/2016 11:43

These teeny baby pictures are making me so broody, your children are all beautiful little ones - 8 weeks today and my first one will be here (hopefully)

Really feel for all you guys not getting good sleeps, hope you manage to get settled. I'm sleeping from 10pm to 6:30am with one wake up about 1am for a wee so feeling quite lucky. The spd pains are back though, bringing maternity leave forward by 2 weeks if it doesn't ease so instead of finishing 12th Feb it may end up being the 29th this month.

mrsben fingers crossed everything is ok for you.

missi Zack looks gorgeous, he's coming along so well, I'll bet you're so proud.

maybebabybee · 13/01/2016 11:45

Q the 29th is my last day at work so you will be in good company :)

vroc81 · 13/01/2016 12:21

Without making myself too identifiable to all those people of the world that can look at this thread if I manage a leap baby I'm holding the person that said it would mean nappy sponsorship to their offer so I am hoping for the 29th! That's only a week early so might be possible.

Mrs Ben good luck for today.

Indom and ff I am also working right up to the bitter end but I am at the opposite end of the month to you guys!

There were three babies due at work after I told them I was pregnant and now there is only one left!!! ARGH!!!! Also hoping to go for third time lucky on the birth................

marmiteandcheeseplease · 13/01/2016 12:30

Sorry to hear people suffering from SPD/general aches and pains. I've not been too bad - the occasional twinge in my back but I think doing my yoga classes twice a week has really helped as by this time with DD I had terrible pain.

Had a hospital appt for DD today for hearing - I've got mild hearing loss due to glue ear as a child and although her hearing day to day seems fine she never quite passes the hearing tests and always has congested ears. Anyway it was at 10.15, got in by 10.20 but after the test I had to wait 40 minutes for the consultant ent appointment! Bloody nightmare. Have now lost half a day at work. Apparently she does have glue ear, but it might be getting better, so we have to go back in 4 months time for yet another appointment. Joy.

Went to a home birth support group meeting yesterday evening. Was really helpful. I hadn't really thought about it but if I'm serious about home birth I may have to rent a birthing pool, so got that to sort out . I've heard rumours that my local hospital (royal Berks in Reading) has been understaffed recently and the home birth service isn't always available so I asked about that, a doula there who also sits on a committee at the hospital said that in the past month the entire labour service (home birth, MLU and obstretic delivery unit) has been closed to new admissions three times! That's almost once a week Shock apparently sometimes its for just a couple of hours but other times 8 hours or so. so now scared that when I go into labour thy will be on divert and I will end up having to go to slough or somewhere where I've not been before which will add to the stress. Trying not to think about it but really don't want to end up birthing in some random hospital 20+ miles away Confused

dobbythedoggy · 13/01/2016 12:37

If I need to go for an elective c-section, bump will be here on the 24th of Feb! My dad is betting if I go into labour naturally it will be on the 4th or 5th of March as my mum's training weekend has been moved so she's away the from the evening of the 4th and the day of the 5th. He'll be around to be on dd duty and would have no problems on that front, if granny's not around she's a real granddad's girl.

We counted the days until bump's due yesterday with dd. 49 days, 42 if c-section. She wants a chocolate bump calander like she had for christmas now!

There's a group of us in my circle of mummy friends who all have due dates within a couple of days of each other for the last week of feb and first week of march. One of them is due on the 29th and her first little one came bang on her due date.

The plasters finally finished yesterday and did a pretty amazing job of cleaning up. I was really worried the carpet was done for, but other than a few marks here and there it's in suprisingly good health for the amount of rotten wood that came down on it. Need to sort out painting and decorating with the land lady asap as soon as the plaster is dry so we can get back to normal. Dh is hoping the land lady will pay for paint and that he can decorate this weekend as everything just looks so grubby! (And his sick od me moaning about it already.)

Didn't make it to csc last night. I seem to get a decent night's sleep every 10 nights as I'm just to exhausted not to sleep even if I am suffering with leg cramps, aches and heart burn! Although I woke up around 2.30 beached on my right hand side and in agony, but was alseep again as soon as dh stopped laughing and helped me roll over.
