Couldn't resist adding my 8lb 5 munchkin to the photo gallery. This is just born and 1 day old/back at home. I had him at 12:30am and was home by 6pm that evening. (Evidence of unwashed hair apparent!)

YY to bring starving hungry, but then feeling so nauseous after I eat.

Ffaux my bras all have extenders too and the blessed relief of taking it off as soon as you get home!

these newborn pics are making my heart melt - still can't quite actually believe there's one of them inside me

Rosieblossom123 · 12/01/2016 15:40

ffaux that's what I keep thinking :) It's so cute seeing all these pictures I think they've actually made my day, hurry up squishy!!! Flowers

dobbythedoggy · 12/01/2016 15:49

Dd at around 24 hours old, she was 8lb 7 1/2oz when she was born at 39 weeks, elcs. Part of me worries about how big bump could be if I'm able to try for a vbac and go over due.

ffaux I have rib pain too. Worst on the left hand side, where his got his bottom. Dd had her head and both her feet in the exact same spot, that was agonising. I was in an active job when I was pregnant with her, never much of a chance to sit down, but whenever I did I needed a n ice or heat pack on that spot. Sitting does cause a lot of discomfort, if I sit up straight for too long I ache for hours! Birthing ball doesn't help me much unless I'm leaning over it on all fours, which obvoiusly you can't do at work. The only chair I find comfortable is an Ikea style poung as it leans back. I hardly wear a bra atm, mostly at home so get away with it, as it makes the rib pain worse. I've expeanded loads in that area again, many many inches, had no problem with everything setteling back into place last time.

Dh isn't currently allowed the heating on in the bedroom and has to live with the window open. I just get too hot at night. We're in the south west where it's still relitively mild, but his hoping we're finally going to have a cold snap soon!

I gave up on proper bras a while ago ffaux. I've been wearing super soft crop top style ones! They don't provide as much in the support department but I couldn't take the normal ones digging in any more! I've heard that when the bump drops and baby's head moves into the pelvis, our ribs will move back closer together again!

TheMshipIsBack · 12/01/2016 16:18

Ugh bras. I'm normally a 38J, got resized into 40H a couple of months back when the rib cage started to expand, and I'm eyeing the extenders now! Wire only at my size - I suffered through a hot summer with soft cup nursing bras with DS and I'm planning to alter some of my old ones with nursing clips this time.

Adorable babies all round, can't wait to see the current crop starting in such a few weeks!

maybebabybee · 12/01/2016 16:22

beautiful just because everyone I known who's had an induction has ended up needing an epidural and I really don't want an epidural. I don't even really want gas and air - I can't bear any kind of drug, it's why I don't really drink at all Blush. am keeping an open mind obviously but that's how I feel at the moment.

I used to be a 32G and am now a 36GG - weird that my back has extended but my cup size hasn't really. I'm already on the non-wired feeding bras, hotmilk does a good one for larger sized ladies that provides a decent amount of support, but I do miss the nicer shape of the underwired ones. Just can't wear the wired ones any more though, they hurt so much!!

Rosieblossom123 · 12/01/2016 16:40

maybe I feel the same I don't even take any painkillers or drink or anything at all. I had loads of people laughing at me when I said I want to go cold turkey but I really do, I don't want anything at all unless obviously if I give up and can't handle the pain but so far my birth plan is to have a water birth with no drugs what so ever!!

maybebabybee · 12/01/2016 16:41

rosie glad it's not just me as everyone looks at me like I'm totally loony when I say I don't want any drugs. My mum gave birth to 4 of us without anything, even gas and air, as she was the same as me - couldn't bear drugs.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 12/01/2016 16:44

Aww loving all these baby pics!

As for induction... Yes from what I gather they really push for it after 12 days overdue but you are well within your rights to refuse and just have monitoring if you want. I plan to refuse if I go overdue - though of course may feel differently by then! I know my due date is out by 3/4 days though so wouldn't want to induce early. I don't want an induction because they are statistically more likely to end up in a c-section. The increased risk of going over 42 weeks is actually tiny though and the evidence base is actually very small. But its all about what you'd feel comfortable with. If I feel ok in myself and baby moving fine etc, I'd rather be monitored and not induced. I know they will pile on the pressure though so will arm myself with information to argue my case!

BeautifulLiar · 12/01/2016 16:45

Love these baby pics :)

Maybe I was induced and didn't have an epidural :) I was adamant that I would as well!

Thank you for the good luck wishes tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me the advantages of being induced at 40 weeks over 37 weeks? Is it just that the body is more prepared at 40 weeks and will respond better to induction?

gemsparkle84 · 12/01/2016 17:07

Hi everyone (smile)

Not looked through everything but read the last couple of pages.

missi Zach looks amazing! So glad that he is doing so well.

Ladies I'm definitely a full member of the CSC although the sleep fairy must have sprinkled some dust on some of us last night as I too had a fairly decent nights sleep! My problem is tossing and turning, bump getting in the way, fearing I've squashed her. My hubby says I've started making making noises in my sleep too. I nearly punched him yesterday when he said "why don't you go in the spare bedroom tonight, I could really do with getting a decent nights sleep" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!! Oh sorry!!!!

MrsBenWyatt · 12/01/2016 17:08

32 week scan. Low fluid and BP up with + protein.
Signed off work and got to go for steroids tomorrow and Thursday.
Not a great day.

Rosieblossom123 · 12/01/2016 17:10

maybe haha I know everyone thinks I'm crazy but I always think of my nan, she was 16 when she gave birth and took nothing 3 times so if she can do I can!! I just really hope its a quick one, my best friend went into labour today two weeks early and gave birth within 4 hours. I want that to happen to me.

MyNameIsSuz · 12/01/2016 17:17

I'm thinking of going to bed by 9 tonight, I just can't concentrate at work and I'm shattered! In fact, I'm tempted to go to bed at 7 when ds does...

I'm also on the bra extenders, usually a 30ff/g, currently in a 34f - boobs haven't grown all that much but my ribs have. I went back down to a 30 again afterwards last time, but think they might have stayed a bit wider at the bottom as I had a few dresses that ended up feeling tighter or not doing up around the bottom of my ribs.

I've had another massive growth spurt - picture attached (don't look at my hair, and yes those are immediate post-work jammies) - I feel huge. I think the baby has turned around, as for the last couple of days I've had pressure in completely different places to before and felt what I think is a bum at the top of my stomach. Hopefully she's now head down!

MyNameIsSuz · 12/01/2016 17:34

Oh no MrsBen, what does that mean? Did they say anything else? Other than the appointment for the steroids, will they be monitoring you more perhaps?

MrsBenWyatt · 12/01/2016 17:36

Myname weekly scans is the plan for now, plus antibiotics if it looks like waters have gone (they aren't sure).

MyNameIsSuz · 12/01/2016 17:40

Oof, poor you, that must be stressful. Fingers crossed it's nothing Flowers

Me624 · 12/01/2016 17:52

Sorry to hear that MrsBen. Have you got to be on bed rest or just signed off to help stress levels etc?

I'd like to avoid an epidural if I can but I will take induction if I go over, even if that means an epidural is more likely - I just know that every day I go over my due date will be unbearable for me!

Feeling fed up of work. I'm really quiet - I get that they aren't going to want me to take on loads of new things when I've only got 6 weeks to go but I am really bored and the days pass so slowly when you don't have much to do!

Loved all the newborn pics earlier. Can't believe I'll have one soon!

hayleycookie · 12/01/2016 18:14

I was induced and didn't have an epidural or anything but gas and air. Even with that I was able to come off it regularly and just breath through my contractions so don't worry :)

MrsBen that sucks :( Do they suspect pre-eclampsia because of the protein or are they just monitoring for everything? The good thing is that they've picked it up and are acting on it. You're in the best hands Flowers

Crispylicious · 12/01/2016 18:28

Aw mrsben sounds v stressful. I've had protein traces before but they turned out to be nothing. Hope all is ok x

I was induced last time, as my waters went but there was no labour. The pessary didn't work, so they put me on the drip. I insisted on an epidural prior to the drip, as it's meant to cause fierce contractions and I have to say, it was bloody marvellous! Ended up with a ventouse delivery and episiotomy due to potential fetal distress, but it really was ok and pretty much pain free (until the drugs wore off) I had wanted a natural water birth, ha ha ha. I'm not sure what we'll do this time round, but am going to try not to be too attached to any pre-conceived ideas and see how it goes. Kinda bugs me they make you do a birth plan, as things so rarely go to plan and I think it raises expectations!

ffauxlivia · 12/01/2016 18:43

oh no mrsben sorry to hear that - are they thinking early delivery? Flowers for you, hope you're okay

dobby and others - good to know ribs might go back to normal eventually! I think I also got my first kick to the ribs today, but kind of liked it as hopefully means she's moving into a better position.

Ugh can't even read about inductions and epidurals and episiotomies without starting to freak out a little inside. hayleycookie just read your post on the main thread about your first birth Shock

MrsBenWyatt · 12/01/2016 19:08

Hayley possible pre-e (had it in first pregnancy) but baby is big and I am on aspirin. Had a placental abruption in last pregnancy so I am aware how quickly things go wrong. No talk of early delivery but I the original plan was a section at 38 weeks so we will see how that pans out.

hayleycookie · 12/01/2016 19:09

Lol Faux that's why I didn't post it in here! Didn't want to put anyone off. But here I am doing it all again so can't have been that bad aye Wink

BeautifulLiar · 12/01/2016 19:09

Sorry to hear that MrsBen. Hopefully it'll just be a little blip and actually things are ok. I had the steroids on Christmas Eve and I will warn you, they bloody hurt but wiggle your toes and that helps disperse the pain!
