Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

Sharesinpampers · 24/01/2016 21:16

Hello, just spent about 24 hours reading this thread and finally joining in! We got our BFP on Christmas Day, delighted to be expecting our 2nd. My DD will be 2.5 when baby arrives. According to my LMP I should be 10 weeks tomorrow but we had a private scan yesterday and they date me at 8 weeks, so due around 3rd Sept.

Had a scare at first scan two weeks ago where they said it was too early to see a heartbeat. But my ovulation is irregular so not completely surprised.

Main symptom is nausea. Last time I had it until week 16 so I'm hoping this time it doesn't last any longer.

Had a happy time telling our parents this weekend. It took over 18 months to conceive DD so we're all a bit surprised it happened on month 3 of TTC this time!

Have been reassured reading these posts. Glad I'm in good company in terms of feeling rotten but happy Wink

Aceberry · 24/01/2016 22:17

Hi everyone - also just found out I was pregnant after doing opks and finding 7 days of positives. I did a CB pregnancy test and it said 2-3 weeks. My last 'period' must've been an implantation bleed - it was early but I did bleed like a AF so that's why we were Ttc this month! Going from my December period I think I'm due 19th September - dc3 for me x

Kitkatmonster · 25/01/2016 07:13

Congrats Ace.

I'm starting the week badly. Up at 4.30am to see. Couldn't get back to sleep, up, did a bit of work on the laptop, tidied downstairs, made lunches, done some ironing. I'm knackered and I've got back in bed. I want to go back to sleep but kids need to get up in 15 minutes :(

Kitkatmonster · 25/01/2016 07:13

To see? Bloody sleep deprivation. To frigging wee of course!

Lilliana · 25/01/2016 07:24

Hi aceberry my friend had 'normal' periods all the way through her pregnancy so didn't find out until she was about 5/6 months! Congratulations to you and shares and welcome.

Thanks for the app ideas. My last pregnancy I didn't have a internet on my phone so no clue such a thing existed. I also have memory problems due to the amount of photos of DD!

wineandcheeseplease · 25/01/2016 07:40

Feeling sick this morning and wondering how on earth I can get through the week when I already feel exhausted! Anyone else the same?

Butterflies100 · 25/01/2016 07:41

Morning Kitkat, and same here! So thirsty during the night so up 3 times drink and wee. Gave up trying to sleep at 445am as so hungry...despite a good tea last night and milk and snack right before bed. Also, can't stop sneezing! Have to sit up to sneeze else I get sharp abdominal pains. It's going to be a long day at work :-(

Unreliablepat · 25/01/2016 08:03

Morning all and congrats to the newcomers!

For those looking for app recommendations, I have got the Ovia one which seems OK so far. I got a new phone for Christmas so no memory problems here.

For those of you worrying about small age gaps, I am going to have just over 3 years, but my DS is very stubborn and wild so I'm worrying how I'll cope. At least with very little ones they are easier to keep restrained in a buggy! I think there are pros and cons whatever the age gap really.

I've had a few waves of nausea over the weekend, including when we were out for dinner on Saturday night when I had to run off to the bathroom mid meal. Other than that the only symptom is boobs growing by the day. I remember last time I had to get new bras at 8 wks as I had grown so much and it looks like it's going the same way this time!

We have decided not to tell anyone until after the 12 wk scan but the urge to blab is growing!

Annarose2014 · 25/01/2016 08:52

For those with eleventy billion photos on their phone - back them up! I was in a phone shop not too long ago and a woman was in there getting a new phone and when she had lost her old one she'd lost every photo she'd had of her baby!

I was listening like Shock Now I transfer them on the pc every week for peace of mind. And onto a stick!

icklekid · 25/01/2016 09:05

Would highly recommend using a cloud based service to back up like icloud, Dropbox, Google photos as so easy to sync and backup so can access photos on aylny device.

Been very bad with hg this weekend not kept anything down all weekend. Threw up after dropping ds at childminders so yet another day not at work Sad don't know what I can do about this. Can't even keep sickness medication down at the moment so that doesn't help!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 25/01/2016 09:21

Anna that poor lady; I have them on my laptop, external hard drive and many of them printed in albums and I still can't bring myself to delete them from my phone.

ickle that sounds absolutely hideous :(

wornoutboots · 25/01/2016 10:40

we have an external hard drive with all the photos backed up onto it.

If there's a fire, I'll grab that (after the kids and husband, obvs!)

I have tonsillitis, seeing gp this afternoon for it

Lilliana · 25/01/2016 11:32

I back mine up too but DD loves looking at them on my phone and once their on the laptop I never look at them!

I'm going to have a 4 year age gap and I'm worried it's too big! Wasn't the plan but I've decided plans and pregnancy don't mix! Not sure how DD will take it.

Sharesinpampers · 25/01/2016 11:50

Lilliana my friend has 3.5 years between her girls, she had hoped for a shorter gap. But they get on brilliantly. They play really well together and have done since the youngest was under two. In fact the wee one has amazing language skills because her big sister talked non stop to her!

wornoutboots · 25/01/2016 12:26

Sproutingbean my youngest is 9 months old. I'll have a small age gap too.

MoonriseKingdom · 25/01/2016 12:33

Ickle that sounds awful - are you managing to keep any fluids down? Do you need to go back to your GP?

Liliana - I am sure it will be fine. There is 3.5 yrs between me and my little brother and we were still really close. My DH has two sisters 8 years and 14 years older. Now that's a big gap. Although they weren't so close as children he actually runs a business with his sister so sees her more than most people see their siblings.

zeeka · 25/01/2016 13:25

liliana mine will have a 9 year gap Smile which is hilarious! I think siblings just develop different relationships as children, depending on age gap, but it can still be positive. I guess as adults it will all be more of a level playing field. My OH is really good friends with his (7 years younger) sister.

My sister has a 4.5 year age gap with her dc and it's going well! The older sibling is enjoying being a big sister and can also entertain herself while the baby is being fed.

icklekid · 25/01/2016 13:32

moonrise no to fluids all weekend so going back to gp this afternoon. ..

Will only be 26 months between my 2 think I will be jealous of all of you with siblings who can help out rather than needing to be plonked in front of creepiest or trying to breastfeed whilst reading books!

ohanami · 25/01/2016 13:33

Definitely back up your phone photos! I'd got two years worth of pictures on my phone (including dd's newborn pictures) and dropped it into the toilet when dd was a week old. I managed to get enough life out of it to download the photos before it conked out thankfully, but I was absolutely devastated at the thought of losing my first pictures of her. I transferred them onto laptop after that, only for the laptop to develop a fault six months later... Now they go onto both laptop and external hard drive regularly!

Just back from my booking in appointment and the "high risk" element of this pregnancy has just jumped up and hit me in the face. Seeing the maternity notes and remembering how full and complex they were last time has brought back some bad memories Sad. I knew I'd be classed high risk, but it's suddenly feeling a lot more real. Want to curl up with a hot drink and a slice of cake and take it all in but dd's going to wake up soon so moping about will have to wait until later.

wornoutboots · 25/01/2016 13:43

my eldest (5) keeps saying, "mammy, when are you going to have another baby?" so he'll be keen when he finds out.
my middle (3) loves his baby sister but hasn't understood to stop running into my tummy, please!
my youngest is 9 months... too young to have an opinion

FrazzleRock · 25/01/2016 14:04

Hey!

I've not had chance to catch up properly but I'm poking my head in quickly to let you all know we went for our scan this morning and everything is fine and shrimpy is in the right place. I'm officially 5 weeks today which means when I did my first test we conceived only about 3 days previous! How are they that sensitive!?

Anyway, puts me at EDD of 26th September so I shall update the list Smile

But actually I'll be having an elective c-section as the boys were both c-sections (one emergency and one elective) so I guess they'll want to do that a week or so before my due date.

Hope you're all ok. I'll have a read through in a bit

ticken · 25/01/2016 14:21

Hi everyone,
I'm expecting dc2 on 1st Sept according to lmp so hope you don't mind me joining. Ds1 was born Dec 2014 and I found the antenatal thread really useful, even though I just stalked. Thought I'd bite the bullet and participate this time.

Got some mild nausea and feeling knackered but otherwise fine. Booking tomorrow so hoping for a scan date to check this baby definitely exists!

FrazzleRock · 25/01/2016 14:41
