Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

I am so jealous of all you symptom free ladies...felt like crazy sick all day. Exhausted despite early nights all week and still managed a couple of hours nap this afternoon. Nausea seems to come in waves, sick on a morning then ok for it bit, then feel sick and so on. All that's keeping me sane is the thought that this little one needs my energy to grow quickly. Although I'll be glad to feel better soon! Hi to all newbies and congratulations xx

phoebs88 · 17/01/2016 19:24

Hi ladies, can I join you all? Tested repeatedly last Monday and it's finally sinking in that DC2 should be joining us around 18 Sep! So I am 5 weeks today. DC1 turns 1 at the end of the month, so will be about a 20 month age gap which seemed like a good idea at the time...Confused

I haven't read all the thread yet, but hope everyone is doing ok. I think I will book a (private) early scan around 8 weeks as the wait sent me crazy last time!

Look forward to getting to know you all over the next few months Smile

GuessHowMuch · 17/01/2016 19:32

Peardrop I'm in exactly the same situation with my sister, although she's a few months into a relationship so feeling a bit more positive at the minute. I know she'd desperately love to have her own children and it's a struggle with relationships because that pressure is always there. I told my sis by text this time as I really wanted her to have time to be sad and then chat after. She found it hard last time I told her face to face.

Welcome Phoebs - congratulations!

Newtothevillage · 17/01/2016 20:21

Sorry ladies ignore this, seem to have lost the thread on the ones 'I'm on' so just marking my place again.

Congrats to all newbies! Smile

RomeoOoops · 17/01/2016 21:29

Hi everyone, can I join?
Got BFP today after shockingly unprecedented boob growth raising suspicions...
As name suggests, returned from Rome with more than we were bargaining for Grin
Edd 26.9.16
Very nervous- hoping to get a balance of excitement I'm there too soon!

Cherryberry1 · 17/01/2016 21:32

Well, I've told DH and cracked open the Clearblue test I was saving which had a very strong positive! He's gone out to Tesco Express to get the digital and something to drink for him to celebrate. I've read through the thread now and I'm quite relieved to see that I'm not the only one with so many repeated tests Grin

The only symptoms I have is the odd metallic taste (and DH's breath smells metallic to me when he's eaten certain food) which I had during my pregnancy with DS1. I also have what I imagine is heartburn, which is new. I hope all you ladies with morning sickness aren't suffering too much.

Cherryberry1 · 17/01/2016 21:34

Welcome, Rome and congratulations! What a lovely way to remember your holiday!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 17/01/2016 21:41

Morning sickness hasn't kicked in yet, I didn't get it til about 6-7 weeks with DS so I feel like I should eat everything I like in case my days are numbered Grin

Just really, really tired. Managed a two hour nap this afternoon but I mustn't get used to that luxury. Really missing caffeinated coffee!

Nice to see lots of new members since I joined. Looks like lots of September babies due?

Kitkatmonster · 17/01/2016 21:50

Hi, and congratulations to the newcomers! I spoke too soon earlier. Have decided this evening that I really don't like the kitchen and it smells of cat food (we don't own a cat, or any cat food). Going in to make a cup of tea is making me retch. I'm aware this sounds like my kitchen is some kind of stinky hell hole, but it's really not - except to me right now.

I'm hoping the kitchen aversion won't last. It will make eating & drinking pretty difficult. Want another cup of tea but I'm scared to go back in there!

Sausage2229 · 17/01/2016 21:55

I feel your pain. My very sensitive smell is in overdrive and most things now make me gag! The joys!

MrsS182 · 17/01/2016 21:58

Can anyone help me. In so much pain think I've twisted the wrong way and I have done something to my back. I know I shouldn't have anything with ibuprofen so deep heat is out (as are most of the heat rubs in tesco). Does anyone know of any heat type medication that is safe during pregnancy? Just got a hot water bottle at the moment and shuffling around Sad

MargaretCabbage · 17/01/2016 22:30

DS turned one today, we've had a lovely time. Looks like there's quite a few of us with small age gaps!

I'm not feeling too pregnant either, especially as last time I seemed to suffer with most of the horrible symptoms. Super sense of smell has kicked in though, and the crazy mood swings - I'd forgotten the first trimester turned me into a bit of a monster!

icklekid · 18/01/2016 03:44

mrss paracetamol and hot water bottle probably safest - you can get heat pads without medicine but effectively they are just more targeted hot water bottles!

waves to all newbies and Envy to anyone jealous of sickness! !! No idea how will function at work this week only managed 2 days in last 2 weeks (out of 6 as work pt)

MillieMoodle · 18/01/2016 07:12

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations!

Feeling totally exhausted still, I don't remember feeling this tired with DS. Weekday mornings are definitely the most difficult, am really struggling to get up and about. Doesn't help that I feel most sick first thing in the morning. Don't you how you ladies who are actually being sick manage to function properly!

RomeoOoops · 18/01/2016 07:50

Wow, Monday mornings are horrible! I've already had to send my first 'sorry for being a monster' text of the day Confused
Hope that your back is better MrsS

Lilliana · 18/01/2016 07:58

Welcome newbies! Pull up a seat and make yourself comfortable.

Unfortunately mrss it sounds like you're already doing the best things you can. Hope it gets better soon.

Hope the sickness eases for all those suffering at the moment - and joins those looking for symptoms Grin

I'm still feel remarkably un-pregnant. Tired and occasional boob pain but nothing really. The line is the only thing telling me it is real at the moment!

CatFaceCrayola · 18/01/2016 08:31

Still feeling very unpregnant, which I'm not complaining about!

However DD was awake from 12-4am for no obvious reason. So am a bit of a zombie at work this morning.

CatFaceCrayola · 18/01/2016 08:33

Also...do we have one of those stats sheets with names, location, due date etc on?

peardrop2 · 18/01/2016 08:55

F - is it today that you get your blood results?

Annarose2014 · 18/01/2016 09:03

I'm another one who'll have a small gap - 22 months. Am absolutely terrified about how to manage but I refuse to think about it till Sept!

I have a cousin who has had a lot of IVF, all failed, and now is doing donor eggs and all cycles of that has failed thus far as well. Bloody dreading telling her. She's had to endure so many announcements. At least she doesn't live nearby so it can wait for 12 weeks.

Btw, no scan at my hospital till 20 weeks! At the 12 week appt they just listen for a heartbeat. This is why I bought a dipper last time. I was going mad!

But I do find I'm a lot more relaxed this time round. I actually have whole hours not thinking about the pregnancy, lol. My head was spinning last time. So ((((hugs)))) to everyone going through that! It's so stressful!

Really starting to feel queasy now though. To all those with no symptoms, I was talking to someone yesterday who had 2 under 2 and she had zero symptoms throughout both! Amazing!

Annarose2014 · 18/01/2016 09:05

*doppler that should be!

RifRafia · 18/01/2016 11:05

Hi all,

I'm really sorry to have to say that I'm going to have to leave this group-after bleeding with clots since Fri, MC was confirmed this morning after scan at EPU at 6 w 3 d

I wish all of you a happy and healthy remainder of your pregnancy. Thank you for your support up to now.

wornoutboots · 18/01/2016 11:11

my youngest is just 9.5 months! she won't remember ever being the youngest. Still BFing her, and have taken advice that there's no reason not to continue so I shall.
(my 2 boys are 5 and 3 - I asked the eldest and he said that he doesn't remember being the only one, and that's with a 2.5 year gap)

wornoutboots · 18/01/2016 11:12

I am so very sorry, RifRafia :(

bananamonkey · 18/01/2016 11:13

Gosh I'm so sorry RifRafia Flowers
