Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

Morning yes insomnia here too. Woke between 4 and 6 yesterday and up at 6 today. Did another test today as last Sunday it was still feint. Reassuringly dark today. I think I'll stop testing now, it can't change anything. 5+4 today, long time to wait!

sarahanne4 · 16/01/2016 09:00

Morning everyone. I have a quick question about midwife stuff (this is my first dc, so no experience!). I'm 6+5 and informed my GP two weeks ago about the pregnancy. They said a midwife would be in touch (which she hasn't) and that I could pop into the surgery to pick up a pregnancy info pack, which I've done this week. My pack says my first appt with midwife won't be until 10wks but won't this be very tight for getting a 12 week scan. I'm in the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly NHS Trust. Is this usual? It seems like a lot of you are having earlier interaction with the NHS. I wouldn't consider my pregnancy high risk, although I'm 35 this year, but they don't know that!! Any advice / experience would be great, thanks x

FrazzleRock · 16/01/2016 09:05

peardrop2 Very reassuring, thank you! Constipation here too, but that's pretty normal for me regardless of pregnancy. Also insomnia and being woken by my bladder.

Good news is I did another test this morning which came up positive immediately and has a nice strong line, unlike Monday which was very faint, so that is good, right? I just hope the hormone is increasing as much as it should. Monday seems ages away!

Sorry, I've been very me me me here. I promise to stop being so self absorbed after my results on Monday. DP and I are off house hunting today so that should help take my mind off things....

Have a happy Saturday everyone!

0hCrepe · 16/01/2016 09:10

At my surgery you just book straight in for mw without telling dr so I've booked for when I'm 9 weeks. For where I am scans are 12-14weeks I wouldn't worry about the gap between booking and scan, I'm sure most scans are booked within 2 weeks because of the nature of pregnancy and scanning, it's more immediate than for other medical things with waiting lists etc.
You'll hear from mw nearer the time but get in touch before then if you have any concerns.
By the way, very jealous of your nhs area! We stay every year with my aunt and before her my granny in areas near Penzance. Been to the Scillies loads too. Most beautiful place what a lovely place to bring up children!

Sausage2229 · 16/01/2016 09:13

Hi Sarah
I live in Cornwall too. Booking in at 8 weeks with the midwife. X

MrsS182 · 16/01/2016 09:20

Hi Sarah, my first midwife appointment isn't till I'm 9 weeks. They don't see people up here until they are 8 weeks + Smile

sarahanne4 · 16/01/2016 09:47

Thanks for your reassurances Smile. Hopefully the midwife will call me sometime this week to arrange something. Cornwall is a beautiful place to live, but unfortunately we are sometimes let down by our services (I had a terrible experience in our hospital when I broke my leg a few years ago), so I'm worrying a little!

Did you book direct with a midwife sausage (did you call them) or have they contacted you?

Thanks x

nailsathome · 16/01/2016 09:51

Good news on a stronger line frazzle.

Mw here ignores you until you're 8 weeks too. I haven't even told them yet.

sarahanne4 · 16/01/2016 10:05

Lol, I think I'm just so excited I want the ball to start rolling, I understand why they might postpone, but all the info in the pack they gave me included testing at certain weeks, so I suppose once the booking appt is done it gets more busy Smile

icklekid · 16/01/2016 10:07

My midwife isn't until 11 weeks if it helps, I'm not expecting scan until 13/14 weeks at earliest!

Jen1122 · 16/01/2016 10:16

When I called the gp I had to book an appointment with the nurse for next week so will be just under 6 weeks.
As this is my first time I'm not sure what will be done in this appointment. Does everyone have this appointment before mw ?

Sausage2229 · 16/01/2016 10:28

Hi Sarah. I went to the GP and she said she would get them to call me but I also got given a pack with their number in so I called them. Can't wait for callbacks at a time like this!!!!! Grin

Kitkatmonster · 16/01/2016 11:42

Insomnia here too, though im really tired at night and think I go into a really deep sleep but then wake in the early hours to wee and struggle to get back off. Today I gave in at 6.30 and got up!

GuessHowMuch · 16/01/2016 12:10

Frazzle don't apologise for being 'me me me'. Any of us would be in your situation. Must be horrible waiting but try to keep positive.

wornoutboots · 16/01/2016 13:46

Frazzle, you aren't being mememe.
you are expressing yourself, which is good. I'm absolutely certain all of us will need to at some point before we hatch these eggs...

Kitkatmonster · 16/01/2016 13:55

I had forgotten how it goes. Really, really fancied some rice pudding (I never eat this). Went out and bought rice pudding. Heated up and ate rice pudding. Tummy full of rice pudding = big time nausea = resting on the sofa trying to tell myself that I'm not going to bring back that bloody rice pudding. Sigh.

Lilliana · 16/01/2016 14:10

I'm so so tired but no real insomnia - I slept loads and I'm still shattered!

I'm in Devon and here you call the surgery who will get the mw to call you. They do booking in at 8 weeks and scan 12-14 weeks. I've not even bothered to call the surgery yet!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 16/01/2016 14:16

Hello

Just found out I'm pregnant. Due sept 23rd. Had a funny few days as had 2 days of what I thought was a light period but must've been implantation. Totally in shock as I'd written myself off this month.

pear I remember you from the bfeeding thread Smile i have a DS aged 18 months. Oh bloody hell even though we were trying I can't believe it!

bananamonkey · 16/01/2016 15:12

Hello, Is it too late too join this or is there another Sept thread? I got a bfp just over a week ago, been ttc for 6 months and only did the test on a whim, totally unexpected after so many depressing months. Dates put due date around 15th Sept so I'm 5 weeks I guess!

Don't really have any symptoms yet other than breathlessness but I'd put that down to not going to the gym for a couple of months. I am tired but I've been working away in the US so that may just be jet lag and long days.

DH is hassling me to ring drs to see about getting a MW appointment but I'm scared of jinxing things this early. It doesn't actually feel real yet!

MillieMoodle · 16/01/2016 15:41

Kitkat - I've been the same; really fancy something specific to eat, make it, eat it, feel sick, can't face it again. Fortunately I haven't actually been sick yet!

Liliana - I've also been sleeping loads but still more tired than I've ever been. I've spent all afternoon in bed or lying on the sofa Smile

Hope everyone is doing well, not much to report here except for exhaustion, nausea and general grumpiness!

peardrop2 · 16/01/2016 16:47

Welcome banana Smile lucky you jetting off to the USA with work. Sounds very glam. Will be travelling again in your pregnancy?

Thats - Congratulations! I bet you're thrilled! Are you still bf? I am so glad I stopped at 22 months. No way could I bf now..:it would have wiped me out Wink

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 16/01/2016 17:14

We're down to morning and night time now, I'm hoping he'll wean naturally during pregnancy... I'm going away for 3 nights in April as well (a hen do! Argh!) so that might help make the final move. Otherwise it'll be tandem feeding fun ;)

Congrats banana Smile

Lilliana · 16/01/2016 17:14

Welcome thats and banana. I've not called the mw yet either as not sure it feels real!

All I fancy at the moment is macaroni cheese Blush I'm going to be huge Sad

wombthereitis · 16/01/2016 17:19

Hello everyone! I got my BFP on Friday and have a due date of 19th September (I'll be having an ELCS this time around, so 39 weeks is the due date). I've got on DD already who is two and very excited/nervous to be pregnant again. Doesn't feel real yet and I'm touching wood everywhere!

I'm still in daily contact via Facebook with my antenatal club I met on Mumsnet first time around and they were and are a wonderful support, so I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

rachywhite83 · 16/01/2016 17:50
