Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

I bet hospital visit made things a bit more real jelly! And yes get on with the house porn before you have a baby and no time to take pics for us!

Also fed up of the "just ylu wait brigade" here too. The worst is my mother so I avoid talking to her about to much

On that note, rant alert.

Saw my mum tonight and mentioned I'd felt baby from outside today and dh had felt it too. She looked at me like I'm some grade A idiot and bleated on at me about how early it is for movement especially as its my first. Clearly my baby hasn't got around to reading the f'ing text book in time.
Then mentioned the issues with NHS classes and not being able to find out when/where they are running and that I'd booked nct classes and got basically laughed at and eyes rolled at me. Wtf is wrong with wanting to be well informed? Just because she had 5 sneeze births does not mean I will. Dh wasnt helping either basically laughing at me with her. Really struggled to hide how upset I was and as much as I tried to avoid it had a row with dh when we got home. He's now not speaking to me because he's a dickhead. And now I'm crying to myself again. I think they've forgotten how much I've been through to get here, they have no idea how terribly vulnerable and scared I am right now. I'm not used to being like this. I'm the strong one. I just feel so alone. Sorry this has turned into a ramble

pretzelpieces · 12/01/2016 23:32

Aw lil I'm sorry and it's totally not okay for your dh to gang up with her Angry

pee Ah good job you caught yourself before you become one of Those People! Grin

Ate a curry. Did not go into labour, but did give myself high blood sugar. Whoops

WouldRatherHaveCake · 13/01/2016 00:01

Hello hello hello! It's been far too long since I've jumped on the Fred. Bad cake

Hobbit19 · 13/01/2016 04:24

Ah Lil, that's rubbish. Your DM and DH need to be more supportive. And you really don't need your DM to continue with the eye rolling/know it all ness once baby Lil arrives, it will not help! Boo!

Yes Jelly, house porn before you go into labour please!

5hell · 13/01/2016 06:18

Ouch lil !...hope dh came to his senses and apologised! Presumably nct classes didnt exist or were uncommon when your dm was preg, and as several books I've read have noted the passing of pregnancy/birth wisdom from woman to woman has changed (reduced) dramatically in modern society so we need alternate sources to help us prepare, e.g. nct!

Lol pee Grin ...no one minds the odd comment n I'm sure we'll all do it ourselves eventually, it's just sometimes they seem to come in a flood!

Better nights sleep - hooray!!! And I can still do a headstand!

honeysucklejasmine · 13/01/2016 06:38

Morning!

Lil that is shit. Sad

Cake hellloooooo!

So, I am now in "snotty" mode. Need to get to the chemist and get myself some runny nose remedy. I would LOVE to just take some sudafed but alas. All suggestions welcome. Will also need to be a bit careful if I start coughing, as that usually leads to vomit, IME. Hmm The joys of pregnancy.

fruitlovingmonkey · 13/01/2016 07:31

Aww Lil that sounds horrible. Bad DH for laughing at you. Can you take a break from seeing your mum until you feel strong enough to handle her again? Obviously she should stop winding you up but at least you can control when you see her (hopefully). I want to do classes and prepare myself for birth because it will make me feel more in control. Obviously there are unknowns about pg and birth but I don't find it AT ALL helpful when people point these out. It's better to focus on what we can change and influence.

Honey when I had my sinus infection I took herbal pills, some tablets that you put in hot water to inhale and a saline nasal spray. All safe in pg but I can't help you with brand names because they'll be different over here. Pro tip: Kleenex balsam, a couple of days of snot and anything else feels like sandpaper.

CarrotPuff · 13/01/2016 08:10

Lil that's rubbish. Have you spoken to your mum about how she makes you feel?
If you invite us around for tea and cake we'll all kick your DH in balls in turns.

5hell I've read somewhere that restless legs can be linked to low iron. Have you had yours checked recently?

Thanks for suggestion Gouda, I like straight ones too. I hope they have them in store.

Weird dreams here. We've been chased by enemies who wanted to kill us, and we were followed by lots of animals, mainly cats. They were harmless but because they could have given out our whereabouts we had to kill them Sad

lildottie · 13/01/2016 08:21

Morning all. Sorry for my moan last night. Dh finally stopped being a dick around midnight. Feel bloody shattered now.
As for DM she will never change i just need to stop telling her anything. She works for me one day a week so hard to avoid her much.

carrot that is an odd dream!

pretz cod liver oil? Less sugar!

5hell why would u want to do a headstand? Lol

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/01/2016 08:35

*lilI why did you hide how upset you were? I would have let her see. What idiots they both are.

Just you wait you lot...everyone turns into a 'just you wait-er'eventually. It happens to everyone when you have experience in something that you want to share. Try not to take it personally, no one means anything by it.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/01/2016 08:36

I take it none of our friends in forrin climes have don't the decent thing and had a baby yet?!

OP posts:
lildottie · 13/01/2016 08:44

Because showing her would make it worse thurs

honeysucklejasmine · 13/01/2016 09:11

I might have become a "just you wait-er" regarding TTC... In that I have warned friends who are yet to bite the bullet (not many if them, I'm quite far behind!) that they should stop taking pill and switch to condoms etc at least a year before they want to start trying. Having seen so many of you lot have to wait for ages for your cycle to return.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/01/2016 09:17

I am not a "just you wait"er... I just creepily stare longingly at thier vodkas and wax lyrical about the days I could eat chicken liver pate and when I could go pee in private or go clubbing until dawn any time I wanted.

jellypi3 · 13/01/2016 09:24

Morning.

lil I'm sorry your DM was such a knob. Some people are arseholes. You know what you felt, ignore her (and give DH a slap!).

Hope niff and gouda are both ok!

I'll get some house porn today after I've tidied up Wink

So the MLU yesterday was just so nice, no beds in the room, no visible medical equipment, big pool, lovely wall murals, it was just so nice. To be fair even the consultant led unit was nice (and separated by a door so not far to go!). The hospital really advocate being active so the beds in the consultant unit are all in the sitting position unless you need an examination, there's no beds in the MLU and they really want you to move about etc. They have mats and birthing balls in every room and those stools you can give birth on and each room has star projectors even the consultant unit.

Basically I feel so much more relaxed about it now, and knowing I'll be there in no more than 4 weeks time (please sooner!) Is quite exciting.

Sorry for the essay!

honey snot sympathies. I'm just getting over this cold I've had since before Xmas. I didn't take anything though fucking martyr but hopefully you can find stuff you can take.

Peenut · 13/01/2016 09:34

Sorry to hear you had a rough evening Lil. I think other people sometimes forget what it's like/don't know what it's like to be going through a massive life changing moment combined with your body doing freaky stuff. Stupid throwaway comments and not taking your seriously are bound to make you feel crap. Bad mother and bad DH, although good that he apologised and stopped being a nob.

Honey I bought some of that saline nasal spray – Vicks have brought out a really big one that has lasted all week. I found although not as effective as Sudafed it's good for a bit of bunged up relief, seems to get the sinuses moving a bit.

Carrot I too had a weird dream ... it's sort of a reoccurring one that keeps happening in different forms. Dreamed I went back to work for a company I used to be part of but they'd rented a really dark office in the Albert Dock in Liverpool. Hmmm. Boring work dream! I think I'm probably worried my career is about to go down the toilet and that I'll have to go back to a job I'm unhappy in post baby!

Just slipped and skidded to work ... it's icy out there!

Peenut · 13/01/2016 09:39

Jelly That MLU sounds amazing! Unfortunately I think my nearest one would potentially be a bit of a nightmare to get to if I went into labour at rush hour! At least an hours drive in good traffic.

Everyone needs a star projector on as they give birth! :)

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 13/01/2016 10:05

Thursday - Still pregnant over here.

I agree with carrot that we would be happy to come around and kick "lil"'s DH in the balls until he realises the error of his ways.

lil you said he stopped being a dick, but did he actually apologise? He sounds bang out of order!!!! Next time your mum makes any snide comments about how you're planning to do things, maybe burn her back with a breezy "oh well...you know, so many things have changed since you gave birth back in Medieval times...isn't progress amazing....."

honey - sorry to hear about your snotty nose. I've had that all pregnancy tbh - apparently that can be A Thing That Happens. Hmm. Unfortunately I never worked out any solutions other than buying really nice soft tissues. If the runny nose situation lasts, I'd recommend putting a tiny bit of carmex or vaseline or something up your nose every now and then, to try and prevent nose bleeds.

5hell - How bizarre on the restless legs!!! It's like compulsive fidgeting just really ramped up? Sounds like a pain in the arse!!!! Have you tried eating bananas covered in spatone? Most things seems to get put down to low iron or low potassium, so that should cover your bases!! Grin Oh, and magnesium too - whack some melted dark chocolate on it too Grin

5hell · 13/01/2016 11:20

boo to illness honey - I survived on hot lemon drinks, honey/lemon/glycerin linctus, the odd paracetamol and nice tissues Flowers

ooh your MLU sounds super jel - can I ask when/how you arranged to go visit? did you contact them directly or did mw sort it? I'd really like to check mine out too.

Gouda/carrot I'm seeing (new) mw tomorrow who should have my 28w blood results so if anything is amiss which might be making the RLS worse then i'll find out then. Interesting you mention bananas gou as I had one after yoga last night and RLS wasn't as bad...coincidence?!?!?!?! Shock

lil I did headstand as everyone else as doing handstands and I dont feel up to that anymore Grin - we all wondered what baby was making of it...was he all like "woah! upsidedown...cool" (in a surfer dude voice obvs), or more like "wtf, I'm trying to rest in here!" ;)

jellypi3 · 13/01/2016 11:39

5hell I asked my mw and it turned out my hospital does 4 sessions a month of "ask the midwife" where they have a 2 hour slot you just rock up and am any questions and they take you round the different wards. Some hospitals you book the session for and others you do it with your AN classes. I'd ask your mw though she should b able to tell you!

pretzelpieces · 13/01/2016 11:54

Ask the midwife sounds great jelly!

I'm off to a breastfeeding class, hoping to get some hot tips on colostrum harvesting whoop whoop. Council has been round today and will be removing part of my unstable bathroom ceiling tomorrow. Non stop party here.

pretzelpieces · 13/01/2016 11:55

Ask the midwife also sounds like a quiz show

KeepTheHope · 13/01/2016 16:14

I caught up again! Will do better. Sorry if I missed anything important!

Lil I'm sorry you had a rubbish evening I hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Honey boo for snot! More a sore throat thing, but when I was little my lovely Grandad would make me hot honey and lemon drinks which I swear really worked and I still make for myself occasionally now. I sit hands around the warm mug and sort of breathe into it so the hot steaminess helps to unblock everything.

Kate congrats ont he house! That was a long wait for you. We bought just over a year ago and were really lucky to turn it around in about 6 weeks and that seemed like ages so I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been! Enjoy making it your own, it really is the best bit.

Eee Niff, Gouda, Jelly and Pretz, not long for any of you now! GX for sneeze-birth babies very soon! Pom-poms at the ready!

Jelly that MLU sounds lovely! My midwife said I can give birth there if everything continues smoothly, I really hope it's as nice as yours. I must see if we can go visit nearer the time.

Not much news here really. 11+3 and I've been less sick the last few days apart from yesterday, which is lovely but also unnerving. Also had occasional odd abdominal/groin pains when I cough or move suddenly which I think must be something in there stretching. 12 week scan next Thurs (21st) and I've already got major scanxiety despite everything being fine on the early one we had before Christmas.

My lovely friend from uni who was one of my bridesmaids messaged yesterday, she broke up with her very nice Italian boyfriend and is really struggling so we've offered her an escape from London and now have an unexpected house guest this weekend. Can't wait, we don't see each other nearly enough since DH and I moved up north. Hopefully it will help the weekend go a bit quicker and bring the scan closer so I can stop being a worry-head.

5hell · 13/01/2016 17:10

keep sorry for your friend, but that sounds like an excellent scanxiety distraction! gx it can be very mutually beneficial :)

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/01/2016 20:31

Yes I agree with 5hell, that sounds like making the best of a bad situation keep. I'm sure she'll be glad to see you and your tum.

FYI 'just you wait' til potty training...I think it's gonna break me viroids. I'm having a small glass of red to congratulate myself for not murdering DS when he pissed on me today.
