Hello everyone - Just starting a new thread for this... Will send a message in a mo.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Chooster · 21/12/2006 15:30

Congrats 3flights - thats great news that your results are so good!!! I bet it is such a massive weight off your mind. Just sit back and enjoy xmas now! I'll wave to you as I drive past Davidsons Mains tonight on my way home - Welcome to Edinburgh...

Myfairone · 21/12/2006 15:53

Miaou - So glad you rang! Its so nice to have that date to look forward to! What's the betting we get our letters after Christmas!
The reason I rang was because a friend of mine did slip down the cracks and by the time they got her in there she was too far to have the nuchal!

Twoplusone - Glad you are excited for your scan! I just feel like mine is so far away!

Catstar - hope you feel better soon. Its miserable enough having tonsilitis but pregnancy hormones can really drag you down too! Feel better

Firststar - I started out so bright this morning! I have steadily gone downhill this afternoon. I just caught sight of myself in the window and I'm slouching at my PC and my shoulders are almost resting on my keyboard!

Have now sat up straight and hoping to keep awake at least until i get home!

Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep!

hello
last time i tried to post on this board it ended up somewhere else!
maybe i'll get it right this time. still grappling with the technology.
Anyone else feeling exhausted and frustrated today???
I'm REALLY grateful to be pg, absolutely thrilled. BUT it's so hard at christmas time!
Today I just about had to give up christmas shopping half way through and go home to bed i felt so crap. Isn't it supposed to start getting better about now? I'm 11 weeks...
I don't often feel sick any more though smells are a problem and I can't even think about eating meat, but i get so tired, it's like being an old lady! and my boobs are so sore. Plus I am running out of excuses to give my family for why I am always so feeble. My mum probably thinks i've got some serious illness!DH doing his very best but he doesn't totally get it and I am snappy...
moan, moan...anyone else feeling like this today?

twoplusone · 21/12/2006 20:21

hi izzzie,

i to cant face certain meats at the mo.. did go of all for a few days..
Hopefully once we are past the 12 weeks we should start to liven up a bit and nnot feel so tired all of the time. My prob is I am tired at about 5ish cant sleep as seeing to the kids then by the time it gets to 9.30pm and dd has gone to bed I am not tired anymore... I just go round in a circle...

Polarbeartime · 22/12/2006 01:51

Justbeme - one MW last time told me don't have too many scans unless necessary as may increase risk of m/c so I wouldn't worry too much. because of that last time I didn't have a 12wk scan as I had already seen the heartbeat. Not wanting to worry anyone, but maybe that'll reassure you

3flights so glad your chromosome thing turned out OK! Housing market - I know that alot of people seem to be buying at the moment.

Saw scan today - everything fine, heartbeat, moving, stubbornly staring at my back(takes after me), and a fidget (takes after dad) So now I feel pregnant finally! And right on cue my Old Navy package of maternity clothes arrived from DH's grandma whose credit card and address I used to order them! I couldn't believe it but bought some denim capris and they actually make me look slim

Chooster meant to say that must have been really hard for you losing ababy at 21wks after you're over the initial worrying stage. i guess the whole of bearing children is worrying isn't it.

Wow pulapula your poor friend had a hard time too. I have a few friends who can't have children. one i really don't want to tell cos I know she'll take it hard, but the other is just lovely and is so happy for me - so I think it depends on the person as to how it goes.

Oh Maiou - I can't spell your name! - talking about stinky poos my DH has got flu/d&v/foodpoisoning and his poos absolutely make me retch if I happen to get a whiff! Which is also why I am up tonight as he can't seem to stop groaning every 30seconds and I can't wear ear plugs or I won't hear ds. Hope you feel better soon.

Myfairone · 22/12/2006 11:25

Polarbeartime - So sorry to hear you have a sick and stinky DH! Hope he gets better soon!
I cannot wait for my scan, just want to see it!!!! Glad that all looked well with yours.

Twoplusone - I know that feeling. I get a real slump at the time I have to leave work and then by the time its bedtime I cannot sleep! So frustrating.

Izzie - Hi, and yes I feel the same as that! I am approaching 9 weeks and really hope that things turn around at 12! Very pleased to be pregnant but the 'all day sickness' is driving me insane!

Firststar - hope you had fun with your family. I didnt sleep at all last night!
Exhausted today and also getting a numb bum where I cant be bothered to move from my desk!

Anyway ladies, I am preparing to leave work at 12! woohooo! I hope that all your Christmas preparations go smoothly and that you all have a wonderful holiday!

Big hugs

Chooster · 22/12/2006 11:49

Hi,

Just to say Happy Christmas to everyone! I usually only go on here when I'm at work (shhhh, dont tell my boss ) - and am finishing up today for 2 weeks! Hooorrrray! So have a wonderful Christmas break everyone and lets hope we are all feeling 100% (If not better!!!) in a couple of weeks.

OP posts:
snowytyphoonsmum · 22/12/2006 16:11

Happy Sober Christmas's to everyone.

Still in work doing the clinic I so love. (not)

Hope to finish soon. I'm off till Wednesday.
I have a computer at home so we still be checking in but I know a lot of use company time to surf mumsnet (you'd never catch me doing it - honest)so won't be around for a while. Will be great to catch up when you all get back tho.

I can't believe I am nine weeks on Sunday. I never thought I'd get this far really. Going to tell his family over the festive season. Mine already know but don't tell DP. Honestly I can't hold my own water. Not sure about when to tell DD tho. After all she is only 4 and 7 months is a long time to wait for a baby when you are that little.

abgirl · 22/12/2006 19:57

Dear All

Sorry this is a wee bit later than usual but I'm on leave at the moment and have been trying to get everything ready for Christmas (and had a scan this pm - will message seperately about that!!). Hope I have picked up any date changes etc., but if not please add a message on and I'll try to get them amended for next week. Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas (even if sober and suffering from ms )

As mentioned in message below I had a 12 week scan this afternoon, was really fantastic - the difference between today and the one I had 2 weeks ago was amazing. My little blob has doubled in size, has a recognisable spine and jaw, and even gave us a wave! - sniff. Also the nuchal fold test came back as 1 in 900 and something which was very reassuring...

Hope you're all well...

pulapula · 23/12/2006 07:01

Thanks abgirl for the update. My date is right but should be 12+4 not 12+2 yesterday.

I also couldn't believe the clarity of the scan - you could see baby's facial features, and all the limbs clearly. As I didn't have a nuchal fold test included we decided to try the local private clinic, but they have no appointments until 15 jan which will be too late. It must be reassuring to come out low risk.

justbeme · 23/12/2006 09:10

Thanks Abgirl - my date is now 29/6/07 (only 1 day I know)
Abgirl - did you get your Nuchal on the NHS? - I didnt have one as i would have to have been private - would have only got one if I was over 40 .
Told some friends yesterday - they were over the moon - more so than our families!
What do you lot think of this?
My BF has told his Sister on the phone that Im pregnant and yet yesterday when I picked up the phone to her she just asked to be put onto him - no "congratulations" or anything, so me in my hormonal state got all emotional thinking about it....... my BF said I was over reacting . It's a long story but she has been abit off recently, apart from when she wants something and then she'll speak to me as if nothings wrong...

AwayInAMeadow · 24/12/2006 09:33

Havent been on for ages!! So BIG HELLO and HAPPY CHRISTMAS to everyone!!

I play piano in school so its been hectic practicing for the Christmas concert and then feeling absolutely wrecked, so didnt have the energy at night to even read on MN!!

My sickness is fading away (yeah) but I bet its about to be replaced by heartburn. My body did that to me last time! My hormones are everywhere adn sometimes feel so vulnerable and low. CAnt wait for my scan - its such an anxious time. But I havent even got my date yet. Somebody below said they rang up so I might do that next week.

happy scans and baby vibes to everyone

twoplusone · 24/12/2006 18:39

lynnec · 24/12/2006 19:24

Hi ladies, just a quick hello and to wish you all a very merry christmas!xx

Polarbeartime · 26/12/2006 20:49

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great Christmas. i have now come down with flu - a few days after saying proudly to DH that I've never had flu - only colds! So it was bed all day today in the dark with eyes closed. Dear DH looked after ds. Hope everyone else feels better than me!

snowytyphoonsmum · 26/12/2006 20:55

Its Boxing Day.

Dp is asleep in a drunken stupor upstair. DD is also hopefully asleep. (1.30 AM on Christmas Eve b4 she finally realised Santa won't come if she is awake.)

Have been looking at the due in December Thread. SCARY. They are all having their babies. Six or seven months ago they were in our shoes thinking it would never get to their due date.

Watching Pirates of the Carribean. Was Absolutley STARVING so made two whole tins of Macaroni cheese. (My stomach was hurting when it growled at me I was that hungry) Had two mouthfuls and was stuffed. Friends called round with presents for DD and actually said I'd lost weight.
Also read somewhere, think it was the pg info on here, that after your first pregnancy you balloon at 12 weeks as your body has done it b4 and remembers what it is meant to do. Please tell me that isn't true. I was one of the annoying people who didn't really show when I was pregnant with DD and was hoping for another pregnancy like that.
I had one maternity skirt and my bump never filled it. It was always baggy.

Myfairone · 26/12/2006 21:51

Happy boxing day everyone!

My cold is in full swing today so I'm sitting feeling sorry for myself while my DH sleeps off his hangover!

snowytyphoonsmum - cant help you with the ballooning question but i know that my tum is starting to protrude already. I'm 9+3 so I know its not baby...its those damn ginger biscuits I have to eat to stop myself throwing up!

Polarbeartime - I feel your pain, i hope you feel better soon! Feet up and lots of TLC.

Twoplusone- Hope your day was a good one and I hope you got to speak to your DH.

To everyone else I havent mentioned, I hope you are all well and that your MS has given you a well deserved xmas holiday!
Happy boxing day and I hope you are all well!

Big hugs

Myfairone · 26/12/2006 21:54

Sorry to be greedy and post twice but I just wanted to get this off my chest.....I told my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins yesterday. I was so excited to finally tell someone (DH has told just about everyone he knows!)...their reaction shocked me! They all sat there and I got a couple of mumbles and that was it!
What is that all about?! Its not like I'm a kid! I'm 37 for gods sake!

I was so upset and got really bunched up about it last night (over it now!)...just really dissapointed and would have thought that they would have shown at least an ounce of excitement!

Oh well, cant expect everyone to be as excited as me I guess!

Thanks for letting me air that!

lynnec · 26/12/2006 23:10

hi ladies, hope you've all had a lovely christmas.I struggled to eat and make christmas dinner,so glad its over with, couldnt even eat my fave choc fudge cake cant wait till my appetite is back!
Myfairone, know what you mean with some peoples reaction or lack of it,with my last pg(which ended in mc) i was telling my prev dh (who passed away)mother and she turned round and said"oh Lynne, i cant beleive you've gone and done that,ds was to be an only child!!) Some people just dont think!! I have yet to tell anyone, just waiting until my scan on 18 Jan, i'll be 13 weeks then, so cant wait to start telling people!
Hope you are all well, sounds as if everyones ms has gone, am i right???
Its not that i have ms,just cant eat all my favorites!

twoplusone · 27/12/2006 08:21
