I'm chuckling at 'fannydaggers' more so because I know exactly what you mean by it. On my ante natal thread with dd2 we referred to them as knuf's - knitting needle up your fanny cos that's exactly how it feels HmmShocklol

Glad to see everyone's doing well. Hope Zach's on the mend soon Missi. I love hearing how he's doing but was said to read he's had a set back.

Another one here finishing on 19th Feb. Given my previous pregnancies I do think I'm being rather optimistic expecting to work til then but I'll aim for it anyway and if it doesn't happen then so be it, I'll give it my best shot anyway.

I'm feeling good still at 29+4. Apart from the constant coughing/sneezing at night. Had a good chat with the pharmacist yesterday and she agrees with the midwife that it sounds like asthma. Though she seems to think it's a reaction to the labetalol that I'm on for high blood pressure as a side effect of it is it can bring on asthma. Fingers crossed that's the case and it'll go once baby arrives. She also suggested drinking hot water bed to dilute the allergen mucus that seems to be causing the coughing. Worked a treat last night so will see what tonight brings.

TriJo · 31/12/2015 01:39

Finishing at 36+5 on Feb 26th here. Suddenly seems quite close now! I'm burning 3 weeks of annual leave and officially starting maternity leave at 40+1 the day after my due date. Bump has ballooned over the holidays and I'm feeling a little more awkward now! 28+4 as of NYE and my little guy is still super active.

Have another foul cold, this is the part at which I rage again about not being able to take anything worth a damn for it! Stupid germy Christmas flights.

maybebabybee · 31/12/2015 08:12

My last day is Friday 29 January so feels very close. Taking all of February as annual leave so don't start maternity leave properly til March though. We are (assuming exchange of contracts goes OK) moving in mid April so I'll be spending a lot of February doing paperwork and de-cluttering, I expect.

Exhausted today as my delightful cats have been up all night running round my bed like lunatics. I can only assume they're trying to prep me for when baby gets here.

Scared I'm really sorry to hear you're still having a shit time. No extra advice but masses of Flowers and hugs from me.

Marmite DP and I were on holiday in Tuscany this year, it's beautiful, you'll have a lovely time!

30+2 today and feeling pretty uncomfortable.

IndomitabIe · 31/12/2015 08:41

Miss - knitting needle up the fanny is exactly what it feels like!

Did your pharmacist explain how drinking warm water into your stomach might dilute mucous in your lungs HmmConfused sounds utterly bizarre! (But glad/amazed it seems to be working!) I think FIL's bp meds give him a cough too.

TriJo - sympathies on the cold. Hunker down and sleep it off if you can.

DS woke up after 8am today - luxury! Need to make the most of it over the next couple of days!

Crispylicious · 31/12/2015 09:16

Hello all. Happy almost new year! I'm celebrating by having a GTT Confused Am really hoping it's negative... The level was only just normal in the finger prick test they did first. They also struggled to get a vein, so feel like a pin cushion!

I'm finishing work on 25 Feb at 36.5 weeks. My bump is humongous so have a feeling he might be a bit early. I think the last couple of months are going to be a hard slog, with my long London commute, so not looking forward to them.

missi how's Zachary doing? I really hope he's continuing to make a good recovery.

trijo sorry bout the cold. It's miz being ill and preggers.

scared hope you get the help you need from the Dr today and it makes everything easier for you.

Go mini indom! My dd has given us some lovely lie ins this holiday too.

Right might go for a wonder round the hospital. Still have 1.5 hours til the next blood test!

docmcstuffins1 · 31/12/2015 11:27

Hello everyone! We are without internet again and crap phone signal at home so having a sneaky post while waiting at the Dr's for me whooping cough vaccine (we definately know how to celebrate Crispy). I'm finishing on the 17th Feb, but go down to very part time (3 mornings a week) from 5th Feb, which is only 5 weeks away!!!!!
Will catch up with the millions of pages of posts I've missed at a later date, but hope everyone has a fab new year, see you all in 2016!

hayleycookie · 31/12/2015 19:06

Hey everyone! Glad to hear everyone had good Christmasses :)

Hope everyone is coping well, and having a very lovely (sober) NYE.

My GTT came back fine, but my 28 week appt didn't go so great. I have low blood pressure, low heart rate, low iron, baby is transverse AND back to back, and he's already over the 95th percentile on his growth chart.
I have a scan coming up in January to check if the placenta has moved, so they will check his growth then too and then ''discuss options'' if he's still looking big. They were going to let me carry on naturally no matter how big he was going to be (as I had my DS naturally with no help and he was a whopper), but because I'm anaemic now and lost a LOT of blood last time they're going to discuss options with me after the scan. Absolutely gutted because I was induced last time and it wasn't a great experience, and the thought of a c-section horrifies me. I must say though that the positive stories on here do make me feel better about it.

Anyway sorry for the downer post but I just had to let it all out somewhere! Everyone else pretty much says ''oh at least you'll be in the best place'' but no-one has to go through the birth process! I think you guys will understand how I feel more.

Happy NYE everyone! Here's to an AMAZING 2016 for us, and all our little families Wine

IndomitabIe · 31/12/2015 20:13

Happy new year, folks.

I've just bought myself a stretchy wrap from Snugi Wraps who are doing 20% off today and tomorrow (not code, prices are all sale price) so got one for £23 including postage. Thought I'd share that!

Been feeling like a slow, stiff old fat woman today. How on Earth am I going to cope with the next 3 months?

Bath & bed for me. Rock & roll Hmm

dobbythedoggy · 31/12/2015 23:18

In bed with a little girl who's feeling really poorly! Most of dh's family are ill with 'flu' that they've passed onto him and dd so his now vowing we won't see them next christmas/new year. Someone is always ill and soilders on because no one in the family will mind if they come despite feeling rotten. Then almost everyone comes down with their lurgie! Did get out of New Years celebrations this year with them. Selfishly hoping it is some form of flu so the jab will stop me getting it. Dh and dd are both needing to be dosed with paracetmol, inburophen and cough medicen to stay vagely comfortable. The idea of just being able to take paracetmol if I catch it too makes me want to cry.

hayley sorry to you're 28 week appointment didn't go well. Will things change if they can get the anemia under control? Or just a perfect storm of problems? It must be dissapointing knowing it may mean more intervention. I'm one of the ones with a pervious c-section and it does take time to get your head around the idea if you end up needing one, so be as demanding as you need to be if it looks like you need to take that route. Meeting everyone before hand and seeing the theater and recovery area really helped me.

scared I hope you got what you needed from your appointment today.

Had my 31 week appointment with midwife today. All bloods came back normal from 28 weeks. She's certain bump is head down now which is wonderful as with dd it was really hard to tell she was breech. So half way to potential vbac. Will have to impatiantly wait for 35 week scan to make sure placenta has moved up high enough. If not in 8 weeks time bump will be a day old and I'll be recovering from elcs. Which is scarily close. Mum provisionally booked the day as holiday today so she could have dd.

Me624 · 01/01/2016 08:55

Happy new year everyone! I made it until 12.30 at the party DH and I went to, then drove us home and was tucked up in bed by 1. We had a nice evening with friends.

dobby how are the colds? Hope you haven't got it. Fingers crossed for your 35 week scan.

hayley what was your hb level? You don't have to agree to induction or CS if you don't want to, personally I don't think anaemia is a good enough reason to be pushed into them! Have they put you on iron?

neh205 · 01/01/2016 09:37

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a lovely evening. We've rented a house with friends and had a brilliant evening with great company, lots of food and plenty of games. Laughed so much and baby seemed to be enjoying himself with lots of kicking!

hayley all fingers crossed for you. I sometimes wonder if ignorance really is bliss but perhaps better to be informed even if we do then spend ages obsessing over things!

dobby, hope you manage to escape the lurgy!

indom thanks for sales tip. OH and I have purchased most of what we need in the sales including - baby rocker, moses basket, feeding kit, nappy bag dispenser, a dish washer and SO many clothes. Found mothercare best place for sales.

scared hope your appointment went well.

Enjoy NY day all!

Paperblank · 01/01/2016 09:47

Happy new year!!

We get to meet our babies this year!! Well all apart from Missi and Zach who met last year Grin

Have a good day.

Happy New Year everyone!

This is the fourth time I've tried to post on here since xmas so I'm just going to keep this one quick in the hope that my phone doesn't gobble it up again!

Firstly, I told you all it was worth holding out for the sales to get all the big stuff Wink. Glad some of you got some bargains.

Yy to the knitting needle in the fanny feeling - that's exactly how I always think of it. I had it loads from 20 weeks last time but not so much with this pregnancy. Guess my cervix must be as knackered as the rest of me Shock.

Hope you all had a lovely sober nye last night. Dh couldnt get home in time for midnight but ds got woken up by all the fireworks so I did have someone to kiss at 12 Smile.

MyNameIsSuz · 01/01/2016 11:29

Happy new year everyone! Sounds like you all had nice sober evenings. We went to my in-laws party which was lovely, I managed to stay until 1 and am paying for it this morning! Ds was up around his usual time, despite staying up til 10. Naps all round this afternoon!!

I'm quite excited about the year, I get to meet my baby and hopefully move house. 2015 sucked - miscarriage, car accident, work got shite... I'm glad it's done.

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 11:37

Happy new year! I went to bed at 10:30 :( just couldn't stay up, feel really ill too!

I'm just at the assessment unit on the monitor. Had another scan on Wednesday and although the baby has maintained her growth line (the smallest one!) the Dopplers were worse than ever and my waters had gone down to just above normal levels. They wanted me to be scanned today but obviously it's all closed so I'm on the CTG, then scans on Monday and Wednesday. I'm going to have to ask my consultant on Wednesday for a rough plan. I definitely think it's going to be a February baby though, which is next month, yay!

Oh another weird thing is that since Christmas I've LOST weight. Wtf. 30 weeks pregnant and 8.5 stone! Hope I haven't lost more waters.

Missi - hope Zach is ok? And thank you - if I do end up with a preemie I will definitely come to you for advice Flowers

Me624 · 01/01/2016 13:11

Wow Beaut you are 2 stone lighter at 30 weeks pregnant than my pre-pregnancy weight! I haven't dared step on the scales for weeks, I don't intend to either. Great news though that your DD is growing as she should, fingers crossed she holds on for as long as possible.

All I kept thinking last night when midnight hit was omg there will be a baby this year! I'm 31 weeks exactly today. 9 weeks sounds like a long time to go still, 6 on the other hand (given 37 weeks counts as term) not so much!

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 13:33

It's probably just cos I'm such a short arse Me! 6-7 weeks definitely does sound a lot sooner; I hope my baby is here by then. The CTG went fine and I'm home. I did notice that she measured me at 27cm and I'm 30+3 but I suppose they know I'm under observation for growth etc.

I haven't really had fanny daggers!! Baby has been head down for a while so I just get her big bum shoved into my ribs or a weird tickling toe reaching round my back! God it freaks me out.

Holiday wise - we're going on a Haven holiday in August. I didn't book the baby on it though as I didn't want to jinx things...

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 13:39

Hayley - seems like we're in a similar situation really. I'm also reluctant to be induced and terrified of a c-section. Keep us updated with what they say!

Scared - how are you feeling now? I've been thinking about you. You sound so frightened and fed up and it's not nice :( hope you're ok and got to the doctors

IndomitabIe · 01/01/2016 13:40

Glad things are ok, Beaut. And yep, that's a stone lighter than I was at conception (though just in my normal range). I am not weighing myself till June at least. I told the midwife this the other day. (She didn't really comment).

I'm still only 28 weeks. So 9 weeks till 'term' but 12 weeks till due. It seems ages! Especially since I've suddenly gone from feeling brilliant to feeling heavy, achey, tired and massive in the last 2 weeks. How am I going to cope with getting any bigger?!

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 14:16

I know, Indom. Apparently the baby "doubles or sometimes even triples in size from now on" aagghh!!

See I was ok with the wait until March. But now I know there are issues with the placenta etc every day is dragging! I think it'll go a bit quicker once the kids are back at school and nursery and I get my routine back..

IndomitabIe · 01/01/2016 14:23

Apparently the baby "doubles or sometimes even triples in size from now on" aagghh! Oh, christ, this is knowledge I've been actively blocking from my brain. I'm going to be like those enormously obese people that have to have the side of their house removed and a special crane brought in to move them to a specially reinforced ambulance to take them to a special reinforced bed in the part of the hospital with those massive chairs. ShockConfused

Think I might have overreacted there...

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 14:35

We're officially allowed to get big!! It's the rules. DH pretended to order a crane once when I was pregnant last time and needed help to get off the sofa. The bastard!

Ha, my four year old DD just said "Mummy, if your tummy gets too big then you can't see your foofy anymore." I wonder how long she's been pondering that one for?!

IndomitabIe · 01/01/2016 15:00

I know we're allowed to. And supposed to. But I don't want to! I'm already struggling to put socks on! And it's heavy!

Ha! Love your DD!

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 15:28

It is frightening. Clearly my bump is "tiny" but it's still a huge change for me. It's getting hard to get comfy at night! DH is doing nights again next week so at least I'll get the bed to myself. Haha she was so serious about it!

BeautifulLiar · 01/01/2016 15:32

This is the baby just before Christmas! Been trying to put it on here for ages. Can anyone else see how gritty the placenta is?!
