Had my 25 week appt this morning. MW says girl from the heartbeat and then said "but I'm crap at this I always get it wrong!"

She also said that when I worry about not feeling the baby she said that because I've got an anterior placenta it's like feeling the baby kick through a cushion, it makes sense when you think of it like that.

Got my MAT 1B form and started to talk about birth plans, next appointments etc. It only feels like five minutes since we were all counting the days till our 12 week scans, and now we're starting to hit the third trimester.

Bump pic coming from me tomorrow when I've tidied my bedroom cause I'm a slovenly minx

Crispy I'm definitely not carrying my notes around with me - I didn't even know we were supposed to do that! I did take them with me when I was away for the weekend just in case. Thanks for the reminder thoug that I need to put them in my bag for my appointment tomorrow!

My bump isn't as big as yours Rhubarb - I'd quite like it to get a bit bigger actually as depending on what I'm wearing sometimes I just look chubby still! I'll post a pic when I get home!

Oh I know what I meant to say... I'll try and get the spreadsheet from the previous thread and link on here Grin

nice bumps all! I'm jealous - I still worry mine's a bit small but I am a FTM so I guess it's normal. This is me a few days ago - just over 22 weeks. I sent it to my mum to show bump had finally popped, and she said 'yes, you are getting bumpy all over now' grrrr it's the second time she's referenced me getting fat! I don't feel worried about my weight but just so annoyed that she thinks it's okay to make those comments, def not gonna talk like that to my little girl Angry

missi we're all rooting for you and Flump!

ginger sorry to hear you're struggling still, you poor thing I couldn't imagine having to deal with sickness still. As for your dates, I wouldn't worry about 2 days - I think in the grand scheme of things 2 days over 40 weeks is not a big deal??

suz I read about your work issues on previous thread - urgh why are people so mean and stupid sometimes? Hope you're able to keep a distance from the awful people - they are not worth it

marmite sorry to hear about family issues, but we're here for venting :)

This season makes me kind of grateful I'm in the US this year as don't have to deal with those kind of worries, just me and the hubby! We have been invited to a family for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday which I'm really excited about - they have taken pity on a lonely Brit couple!

Haven't bought ANYTHING yet apart from some clothes, but I've been so busy trying to find childcare for September!

It's so hard here as the baby spots fill up over a year in advance (go figure?) but finally think I found a lovely elderly couple for almost half the price of the daycare centres! It's an in-home daycare (fully licensed etc) but more personal than a big centre as they only have 6 - 7 kids, so kind of the closest to giving baby to relatives as you can get. Still a scary thought though - giving over a 5/6 month baby to strangers, yikes

Thanks for the monitor feedback. There's a Motorola with breathing sensor pads on Amazon for £90 at the moment but DH reckons we can get a better deal in the January sales - aaaargh, it is the one thing I put him in charge of (as it's the only remotely techie item) but he's useless at making decisions.

Hope missi & her flump are still doing well.

If I'm going away anywhere overnight I'll take my notes but not just for work/meetings relatively nearby home. My folder is mahoooosive and doesn't fit in any of my handbags (I had to take a separate canvas bag for them as handluggage when I flew earlier on!)

Bump pic just taken (24+5) - broke out my thermals today!! I'm definitely not one of those pregnant people who are hot all the time...

Here's my bump at 25+4. It's bigger than yours ffaux but I am 3 weeks ahead of you!

I now have serious bump envy. Here's my bump at 22+1. Not that noticeable, definitely more of bum than bump in profile. Must stop eating for two.

Hang in there flump, you have to now you have a thread dedicated to you Wink

Ginger it's sounding more like you've got a UTI or something other lurgy. Get yourself to the doc for a test and take some time off to rest up.

Q, sorry to hear about your emotional wreck-ness. Hope you're feeling better now.

Glad DD2 is nice and active, marmite, but sympathy for the family induced sleeplessness.

Both our parents are divorced and re"married" so we have 4 households expecting us to visit. They're also all in the same county about 3 hours away. It's a logistical nightmare and completely exhausting trying to fit everyone into a few days, but every year we do it!

ThePug, we've bought a Motorola one with video (it was reduced in mothercare - the cheapest of them, I think). The video quality is great, but it's been losing signal (I can practically see DS's room from here) and the sound quality is terrible. I'm thinking of complaining to Motorola.

For DS we had a BT monitor which was pretty good - signal and sound quality was brilliant, but it would occasionally crash and became increasingly unreliable (we did use it for years!). Hence having to buy a new one.

I had a swim at the weekend too! Wore some board shorts over my bikini that I'd accidentally bought too big and hadn't taken back. It was ok. I'm not a fan of being cold and wet but, it was ok!

Nice bump pics everyone!

Crispy, I carried mine last time but I haven't at all this time. I've put a note on my apple health emergency info thing.

ffaux I remember finding childcare for DS while I was still pg as it can be busy round here and I wasn't having long off. I need to work out what to do about the 2 days/wk the childminder doesn't work.

The in-home childcare sounds nice. Similar to a childminder, I'd imagine.

Hope Flump is still behaving.

Nothing to add here. Nothing exciting going on, which is just how I like it! 24 week appointment next Friday - I was surprised to have one since this is #2, but useful because I need to get my MATB1 form in ASAP.

Here's my bump pic. I deliberately chose the wall to avoid the mess! Excuse the manky trackies!

Gingerlady123 · 24/11/2015 21:15

Thanks everyone.

Indom- I had my urine tested last Wednesday at doctors and no uti. Feeling better this evening virus wise. Sore throat clearing etc. I've had sickness since week five though all the way through to now.

I do worry about a uti as that can cause premature labour can't it? Still weeing a lot. Four times since six pm but they couldn't find an infection and during the day time I wee a normal amount. It's just when I get home.
I really can't afford anymore time off work. I can't risk loosing my job otherwise we wouldn't survive money wise.

Me624 · 24/11/2015 21:17

So many nice proper bumps! I am jealous because everyone else's is very much a bump whereas I just think I look fat all over!

DH and I are hosting Christmas this year for my parents and my DSis. DH likes to cook so he will do the food while I relax (though sadly not with a drink in hand like previous years!) We'll then spend Boxing Day with his family. We try to alternate each year but everyone is local enough that we don't need to stay away and we spend Boxing Day with whichever set we didn't spend Christmas Day with. Works for us at the moment, but not sure what we'll do next year when we have a DC!

maybebabybee · 24/11/2015 21:24

Trying to attach my bump...not sure if it will work...

QforCucumber · 24/11/2015 21:28

Sorry to hear about those of you who are having xmas stresses!
Dp and I are cooking dinner this year for the 2 of us, his brother and dad and my brother and mum.
We have said since we moved in that xmas day we don't intend to leave the house so people can either see us xmas eve (will drop off presents to nieces and nephews as all live within 10 miles of each other) or people can come to us. Hasn't caused any problems yet and this will be the 2nd year doing it.
Dp's dm will pop over xmas day evening for a baileys and she will eat at dp's other brothers house with his wife and 2 kids (she refuses to be in the same room as his dad haha -been divorced 15 years and she's still angry) when she comes here his df goes there.

All the bump pics are crazy compared to the first lot many threads ago.
ginger you're not at risk of losing your job, pregnancy sickness cannot be counted against you legally - it would be seen as discrimination.
indom thanks, think I just needed a cry haha god knows.

IndomitabIe · 24/11/2015 23:15

Ah, that's good Ginger (the not-a-uti confirmation). I've managed to go back to my normal routine of not weeing at work, but twice in the morning before I leave and then several times in the evening (fortunately just once overnight though). So weeing more in the evening could be fairly normal. But could the overnight thing be part of your anxiety? I know I have to wee every time I wake up, otherwise I'm paranoid I'll have an accident (never have, no idea where this came from but it's been this way for over 10 years now).

As for keeping your job, from what you've said so far I hope you find something better as soon as possible after next March! You deserve much better treatment. They are lucky to have you, not the other way around.

Q that's a good point about discrimination against pregnancy sickness - it's a protected condition.

maybebabybee · 25/11/2015 08:46

Morning all. Was rudely awakened at 4am last night with the most excruciating cramp in my right leg. Woke DH up yelling in agony and then had to get up to hop around. Poor bloke thought I was going into labour. It went fairly quickly but was so bloody painful!

Someone please tell me this is not going to be a regular occurrence - anyone else had it?

maybebabybee · 25/11/2015 08:47

PS oh and ginger everyone is completely right, pregnancy related illness is something they can't discriminate against you for and they can't take into account when calculating how much sick leave you've taken . If you can afford it don't feel you can't go to the GP and get signed off for a week. Put yourself first Flowers

Trinpy · 25/11/2015 09:28

Hello everyone!

Really glad to hear the Flump update. Stay put Flump!

Love the bump pics. I'll have to upload mine later.

I had an awful night shift last night, dragged myself home this morning all ready to collapse into bed and found dh curled up on the floor looking awful. Apparently he was up all night with d&v, so I've sent him back to bed to rest while I look after ds. Luckily my dm has said she can babysit for a bit later on

marmiteandcheeseplease · 25/11/2015 09:28

I've had bad cramp in my feet or leg at night a few times maybe - is very annoying!

loving all the bump pictures. you all have nice normal bumps, not like mine. I was told last week that it looks like I've shoved a football under my top as it's all out the front and not the sides at all! I must just have a really narrow space inside so it has to come out all the front also crap weak stomach muscles that can't deal with pregnancy.

Feeling a bit less stressed about the xmas issue. Me and DP generally do Xmas at either his home town or mine, then boxing day morning do the 1 1/2 hour drive to the other home town, so we get xmas with one family and boxing day with the other. My parents are divorced so I then have to fit them both in but they live in the same city so it's not too much of an issue. all my siblings alternate between families as well so I guess that's just the norm for us. Ah well, not really sure we can do much about it. Awkwardly, DPs brother was talking about us going to some football together in the week before xmas, and it may clash with some other plans, so DP has to ring him again to ask him whether it's going ahead. we really don't want to as don't want to bring up the whole 'what are your plans' thing again but on the other hand need to know if we need to cancel on this other event! awkward Confused

Got a horrendous cold at the moment, it's been building up for a few days and now hit me full force. and I have meetings and teaching from 10-4 with no break Sad. DD has also been waking up in the night screaming her head off the past few nights, she did it twice last night. she has at least been going straight back to sleep with a little pat and cuddle so it's not being up with her for ages but being woken up which is hard, and having a cold is making it a bit of a struggle. ugh.

Rosieblossom123 · 25/11/2015 10:02

Yay we've got a new thread Grin

Had a nightmare day yesterday, my car broke down on my way to work on the m3, I just barely made it to the hard shoulder, so scary in the rain too Sad at least I went home and slept for the day haha

Me on my 25 week appointment they checked my urine, heard baby's Heartbeat, measured my belly and had my flu vaccine I was in there for like 15 mins or so.

I'm so confused about when my 3rd trimester starts I'm 25+3 today and I thought it started at 26 weeks?

Another one here with a cold, I really hate it, stuffy nose, sore throat the whole lot Sad

My little acrobat's been kicking more this week and the kicks are getting stronger which is reassuring especially that I've got anterior placenta I was worried I won't feel anything but luckily she's kicking all over now. When are we actually meant to officially start counting the kicks and observing them?

That's me at 25+3!!

Having one of those mornings when I literally cannot put enough food in me. I've already had a small bowl of cereal at home (end of the bag so just wanted to get rid of it), then a Subway 6 inch sandwich when I got into work - still bloody hungry! I blame swimming last night, long aerobic main set rather than a drill-heavy session with a shorter main set.

hayleycookie · 25/11/2015 10:19

This is me at 25+5. I feel huge but seeing it in pictures I guess I'm not as big as I thought!

Another one starving today! But apparently appetite is meant to increase around now so not too worried! Haven't had time to read everything back yet (you chatty bunch) but hope everyone is doing well :)

I literally haven't stopped eating today, had cereal at 7am, porridge at 8:30, scrambled eggs on toast at 9:30 and just had some toast!!! I must stop eating!! Shock

vroc81 · 25/11/2015 12:38

Lovely bumps ladies, I've attached mine but I'm jealous I just look wide!! 25+5 today. And suspect no one will be giving me a seat on the train tomorrow!

Was up at 6:30 buying a car seat on Amazon... Seemed like a good price so now watch the price tumble in the January sales!! Wink

I'm also starving today. Have eaten half my lunch already..

My left leg is absolutely killing me today for no good reason whatsoever - just feels really heavy and a dull ache.

Anything to worry about or do I just need to do more exercise?!

TriJo · 25/11/2015 13:22

Sciatica perhaps maybe? If it keeps up it could be worth seeing a physio.

Rosieblossom123 · 25/11/2015 13:41

maybe I had the same thing from Friday until yesterday, it started friday night the pain actually woke me up I thought I was in labour haha spoke to my midwife and she said it does sound like Sciatica and if it gets worse to go and see her, keep an eye on it if it gets worse call your mw and see what she says.
