Hi all,
jealous of you all with your time off (but sympathies gem)- I was back at work on Monday! I've decided America just doesn't believe in holidays! At least we've finally had some snow - pic attached hopefully! It's going to get super snowy and cold eventually so a bit worried about slipping on snow and ice! It's lovely at the moment though
So we're really entering the business end of this now, eh? I guess some of you only have 2 months to go now?! I still have 3 months so head is still in the sand a bit in terms of getting anything ready
Toured our hospital last night which made it all feel a bit real. But it wasn't what I expected - having never seen a labour ward back home I'm not sure how different this is is to the UK, but it was kind of ..... peaceful? There were 15 labour rooms and only about 3 or 4 were being used, they said there is almost never an issue with capacity so there will almost certainly be a room free whenever we arrive and we are guaranteed a nurse who will work with us 1-1.
There was no noise or feeling of nurses rushing around, each room was totally private with its own bathroom (and bath for labouring in), had options for low lighting, cable TV with a special relaxation channel, iPod docking station, birthing ball, essential oils, an area for husband to sleep in and for newborn to receive basic care etc. The recovery rooms were similar. And this is just a public city centre hospital - nothing posh. Is this normal or a benefit of paying for health insurance?!?
indom I've started having the infamous fanny daggers, they are ouchy. me thicker discharge here too, it's a bit gross! ginger/scared lovely name choices, hope you're doing well. I think I mentioned on here before we're probably going with Seren. neh hope you've recovered from your ordeal, sounds horrible.
