Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

I'm due August 3rd Smile

Argh! Every evening I sit here panicking something will go wrong. I'm ok in the day for some reason?
I get the odd cramps feeling (mild) and increased cm. I keep thinking it's going to be blood and panic whenever I go to the loo! I even pray a bit before I pull my pants down! Is this normal! Had a very early mc in sept

Hello, congratulations and welcome to newbies! Think lots more people will be finding out & missing periods from about now so think this thread will just get busier! Exciting Smile
lily I agree with whoever said that if the midwife isn't worried, you shouldn't be - in my experience they are very good at telling it how it is and they won't give false hope where there is none. I have spent WAY too much time recently on google and it seems it's totally normal not to see anything for definite before at least 6 weeks, sometimes 7. You know bubs is in the right place which is really important. Am sure all will be well and it will be great to see how much baby has grown when you go back in a couple of weeks!

Well I'm away to bed, 5+4 today and the tiredness is really ramping up, I'm exhausted! Am already having loads more symptoms than I ever did with MMC in August (found at nearly 11 weeks) so daring to feel a tiny bit positive and hopeful this time. 6 weeks on Friday and will be pushing GP for an early scan next week so just keeping everything crossed I get that far. Still haven't told DH, feel like I'm living in a little secret bubble. Don't want to jinx it, I know that's ridiculous!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 01/12/2015 21:59

I am also very nervous! I'm a teacher too and I have a sickness phobia so I'm just dreading I get morning sickness! Praying it passes me over. So far I have weird nipples and a dry mouth and thats it. I've actually felt more hungry though so shows everybody is different if some of you have no appetite.
I'm booking a private scan too.
I'm sure this thread is about to get very busy!
I think it's really important to try and stay as calm as possible.

Jellyspoons · 02/12/2015 00:31

Hi all, do you mind if I join?
4 weeks today here... Due date Aug 10th. Feeling stressed as have work trip to malarial country next week. Really don't want to cancel it, been spending hours reading about drugs and worrying. Currently think will do max anti Mozzie sprays /plug in vaporizer stuff /clothing soaks and deet and have prophylaxis (doxycycline) tabs with me that I'll start taking if I get bitten.

Took us 12 months to get pregnant last time so don't want anything to go wrong this time! Only took 3 months this time so I got caught a bit by surprise. (and work trip last minute thing, only got called up for it 3 weeks ago). Argh feeling guilty already!

Boobs sore and random tummy pains here too. Smile
How's everyone doing?

Salene · 02/12/2015 07:18

Jelly spoons my hubby has worked in Angola for years none of them ever take malaria tablets due to side effect, they just cover themselves in high strength repellant so if you done want to take tablets I wouldn't be too worried , these guys are there 6 months of the year and have no issues. Just keep arms legs etc well covered too.

Oh and welcome and congratulations

I'm due 11tg August day after you

lilygirl81 · 02/12/2015 12:05

Just catching up on posts I missed

Mrs1986 welcome! I'm so sorry about your previous loss, it's hard not to let it affect any new pregnancy isn't it.

Bergamot DH goes on a hiding spree when people are coming, thankfully my sister is expecting twins so I've blamed some baby stuff on them Smile With the book, I read the pages relevant to my current month, and have dipped in and out of the first section.

Ihavetheorangehair I think I have every free pregnancy app going! Mostly use Nurture (used the related Glow app for ovulation) and also like Pregnancy+ and baby centre apps. The Mumsnet one is rubbish!!

JW I think we will always worry, I certainly still do.

GlenCoco when do you think you will tell DH? I totally agree about the exhaustion, I had to have a nap last night and could honestly have just not woken up.

Alfie it must be so hard with your phobia, can you chat to your GP? I have to take anti-nausea tablets because my pain meds make me really sick, so they might be able to help you.

Jelly welcome, your work trip sounds exciting! I think you are meant to avoid DEET when pregnant, but I'm sure I heard lime oil can help keep mossies away.

My boobs are so sore today, as is my back. Felt pretty sick when I got up but ginger tea seems to have helped.

Newbies, could you let me have your stats so I can add you to our list? Just need location, age, number of child and due date

FourForYouGlenCoco · 02/12/2015 12:17

Welcome Jelly, no experience with the malaria issue but it sounds like you've been given some good advice!
lily I'm holding out til I've had a scan, am 6w on Friday so will be ringing next week for the GP to refer me, so provided all goes well at that then I'll tell him at the weekend. He works away, gets back late on Friday and leaves on Sunday night so it's reasonably easy to keep secret! I'm not sure what I'll do if scan doesn't go well, haven't really thought that far, just keeping everything crossed that it's ok and I can give him some good news finally! In the meantime I'm basically trying to forget I'm pg because otherwise the stress levels start to rise. I'm trying to count myself not pregnant til absolutely proven!

Christinedonna · 02/12/2015 12:31

Jw35 I found you! I don't think I can get through all the comments on here but hellooo! 5 weeks pregnant today, due date 3rd of August! Doesn't it make you wish you didn't take your normal, unswollen, unpainful boobs for granted!

SeriousStuff · 02/12/2015 13:54

Can I join? Got my bfp 2 days ago and AF still isn't due til Monday...had terrible nausea 4 days before bfp. According to my workings out, due date will be around 19th Aug.

I'm 34 and this will be my DC2, I already have 1 DD.

lilygirl81 · 02/12/2015 13:59

Hi Seriousstuf Nice to have you with us. The days before AF is actually due to arrive are so nerve wracking.

SeriousStuff · 02/12/2015 14:02

Tell me about it lily, but reassuringly the line has been getting darker...thanks for the welcome! Will read back through the group later to catch up!

lilygirl81 · 02/12/2015 14:18

Serious I did that with the lines, then moved on to the digitals the day after AF due, and did my final Clear Blue on Monday which gave me the 3+ weeks I was waiting for (it tells you from actual conception, so 3+ on their test is 5+ in actual terms)

lilygirl81 · 02/12/2015 15:04

Nausea has just hit me badly, feel awful. I've got really hot too, though that tends to go hand in hand with nausea with me sadly), and utterly exhausted. Just want to go home and curl up, ridiculous considering 30 minutes ago I asked DH if he fancied doing something tonight! The books all say sickness ramps up at 6 weeks, well, I'm 5+6 so that sounds about right Sad

Biscuitswithtea · 02/12/2015 15:16

Hello, another newbie here!

AF due yesterday I think (cycle has been all over the place for a while) but got a clear positive on Monday and a 1-2wks pregnant on a clearblue digital yesterday afternoon. Am saving the other digital for a bit to hopefully see the 3+ wks flash up!

Based on last period, I'm due c11th August.

Anyway, I'm 34 and have 1DS already (he will be 3 and a smidge when this one 'pops' out). Completely symptomless I think, tiredness could be easily put down to having a 2yo and/or drinking much less caffeine!

PourMeSomethingStronger · 02/12/2015 15:16

Hi ladies, another Newbie here. Thinking I should change my NN as won't be drinking anything strong for the next 8 months or so! I reckon I'm due 1st week in August. My periods have varied between 30-35 day cycles so not exactly sure. I have 2 DSs already, so this will be number 3. I'm in a bit of a state of shock as I never thought this would happen. I always wanted 3, but DH was firmly in the 2 DC camp. I had resigned myself to this and actually was getting quite happy with the situation, selling baby clothes etc, when DH dropped the bombshell a few weeks ago that he thought he'd like another. We only decided to go for it on the 10th of november and here I am already living the dream! Looking forward to sharing the ups and downs of this pregnancy with you all.

Christinedonna · 02/12/2015 15:33

Is anyone else suffering with being very hot?

lilygirl81 · 02/12/2015 15:45

Christine I get that at the moment. I think it is to do with the increased volume of blood, and our body using more energy all the time, so we feel a bit like we would after a short work out. Your heart rate also goes up by about 15 bpm which I found interesting, I've been keeping a check of mine each day, and it seems consistent

Christinedonna · 02/12/2015 16:01

I haven't kept an eye on mine but at the doctors yesterday she said it seemed very high. She didn't seem concerned so I'm guessing it's something I just have to deal with. Does anyone know where I can buy lavender pillow spray? (Preferably not online) or have any other suggestions on what will help me sleep?

Mrs1986 · 02/12/2015 16:49

Lily I am 4+5, if successful this will be baby number 1, due on 6th August.

Mrs1986 · 02/12/2015 16:51

ps I am 29 x

CurlyChick1 · 02/12/2015 16:56

Wow haven't been around for a few days. This thread has really taken off. Hi to all the newbies! I also really hot and breathless much quicker than usual. Christine holland and Barrett

Christinedonna · 02/12/2015 17:30

Curlychick1 God send thank you!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 02/12/2015 18:31

lily it is tough. I've had anti-nausea tablets before for holidays and travelling as that makes me worse too but I wasn't sure if I could take anything. The the moment my mantra is "I am fine. I will not be sick" but we will see how long that lasts! I'm not five weeks until Monday so hopefully I get away with it for a bit longer.

CurlyChick1 · 02/12/2015 21:20

Alfie I am thinking the same. I was horrendously nauseous last time around all day every day and it went on till 17 weeks. It was horrid but I was never actually sick. They say each pregnancy is different but just remembering to enjoy each day I feel well. At least this time I know the reward at the end and can look forward to that!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 02/12/2015 22:03

christine get the lavender body wash from Lush, I use it just before bed and it's lovely because all of your skin smells so calm!

curly I'll be a mess if that happens to me! I don't know how people cope. I've ordered sea bands and bought some ginger sweets in preparation! Might see what the gp suggests if it gets bad.
