Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

Thanks for your support, I burst into tears at the doctor, so embarrassed! Got Movicol to take so have gone back to bed with that and will forget about going in to work until later on I think

BunchOfBobs · 07/12/2015 11:40

Smellsof it's more a necessity than a want to keep testing. It feels like it's my only assurance in pregnant as symptoms are pretty much non exists to. I'm taking photos of the tests so I can compare if it looks like they fade. Bring on the crazy!
My boobs feel heavy and tender, as though I've worn a badly fitting bra and I'm bloated. Other than the morning queasiness that I'm putting down to nerves I have nothing that's assuring me. I'm sure I'll calm down soon Hmm

Christinedonna · 07/12/2015 12:21

Doctor said how normal cramps were and it was absolutely nothing to worry about but for my peace of mind he's booking me a scan for within the next few days

Christinedonna · 07/12/2015 13:49

it's only just dawned on me! Will this be a normal abdominal scan or internal?! Il be 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant

ToElleWithIt · 07/12/2015 13:59

Most likely internal I would have thought Christine Might as well get used to people poking around Xmas Wink

Christinedonna · 07/12/2015 14:21

Apparently "those sticks are a lot bigger than you" wasn't an appropriate comment to make to the OH

smellsofelderberries · 07/12/2015 14:27

Christine it will probably be internal. Mine last week was an she was a little too rough so I spotted quite a bit afterwards for a few hours so if you feel even slightly uncomfortable then speak up and tell them. Scared the life out of me and I had some cramping afterwards too so do let them know if it's uncomfortable. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to scare you, but I wish someone had said that to me before mine Flowers

Bunch how far along are you? I'm 6+2 and still mad as a hatter Grin I keep saying it'll be easier once we've hopefully heard a heartbeat next Friday but I don't think I'll properly stop worrying until after the 20 week scan!

Jw35 · 07/12/2015 14:27

bobs I'm the same, absolutely paranoid! Did a test today lol, this came up before it even dried. I'm 5 weeks 5 days.

Slight nausea this morning but passed! I want it back lol. Boobs massive and achy and sought cramps feeling in ovaries when getting up quickly. Bloated and tired

I'm 4+3 Smellsof so really early days yet. Just got off the phone to the GP who just gave em the common sense talk "no smoking , no drinking" etc etc. Interestingly though she mentioned there's apparently a link between eating nuts during pregnancy and babies developing but allergies so maybe to avoid them. Now that I never Knew!

Haha glad it's not just me Jw35. I know what you mean about wanting the symptoms. I'm squeezing my boobs very hour to check they're still tender. Confused

Jw35 · 07/12/2015 14:57

Oh wow, not long posted about wanting nausea back and it's here! Very mild but definitely feeling a bit sick! I guess it's started! I expect over the next few days I'm going to feel even worse! Hooray! Haha!

I've just twigged to a major factor in how I feel at this stage. With DS they moved me forward 10 days at the 12w scan. I had thought the original dates that I was given with him were off (the last period had been late and I ovulate early) so the adjusted date made more sense. But things like feeling sick at 5wks was secretly feeling sick at 6wks, etc etc. So the fact I feel little different at 4+5 really really doesn't mean anything!
Someone asked about the pregnancy worry...mine definitely got better at the 16w midwife appt when she got a heartbeat. The scan was reassuring, don't get me wrong, but it was mostly silent so hard to connect something on a screen above you to what's happening inside. The doppler made it seem really real :-) That and the fact that I had a small bump by then. Movement started c17/18 wks, and DH could feel it by c20-21wks.

BergamotMouse · 07/12/2015 16:09

I just had my first midwife appointment which was not what I expected. Lots of forms (which I knew there would be) but no blood tests / urine samples. They do those in another appointment. The midwife was very nice though. I'll spend this evening looking through my ring binder.

Embarrassingly I did a urine sample whilst waiting so had to dispose of that since they didn't need it.

BergamotMouse · 07/12/2015 16:14

One interesting thing the midwife said was that they now recommend stopping folic acid at 12 weeks which means stop taking pregnancy multivitamin as they think it could be linked to the increase in babies with tongue ties. This is after I've just bought another 3 month supply of pregnacare.

GirlFromMars1 · 07/12/2015 17:06

I'm 5+1 now. Just been to my GP surgery today to see a nurse who weighed me, checked blood pressure, and asked whether I smoke or drink. He then did me a referral form for the receptionist to book the scan and they've made me an appt with the midwife at the surgery. Appt isn't until 4th Jan though at which point I'll be 9 weeks. They said that was the next earliest appt. Does this seem about right? I was really hoping I might get an earlier scan around the 8 week mark as its my 1st pregnancy and I'm feeling quite anxious (given how many friends have had miscarriages). I'm in the medical profession too and so I think it means we're predisposed to erring on the side of caution.

Thanks.
Stats: 30, London.

Biscuitswithtea · 07/12/2015 18:18

I don't know Mars1 if they would grant an early scan unless you had a history of mc or there was specific medical reasons or your dates were a complete mystery. Pity. It would put a lot of minds of rest if they did! But a midwife appt at c9wks is okay I think. At least it gives you less time to wait between that and the scan....
I'm going to try and book mine tomorrow. I'm hoping it will be over the holidays when I'm off work anyway :)

Mrs1986 · 07/12/2015 18:56

For the last hour I have had a sharp pain in my lower abodomen to the right hand side. It is getting pretty constant, I wouldn't say it's a severe pain, it's a bit like a stitch. Has anyone had anything like that?

Dileas29 · 07/12/2015 18:57

I'd like to join please! Bookin in apt 29th Dec and 12 week scan 25th January! Struggling to hide the fact I look and feel sick!! This is number two and didn't feel half this nausea with the first. Any suggestions for it to ease? Christmas parties coming up and definitely going to require Spanx as bloating badly!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/12/2015 19:27

Christine am a bit late to the party (mnet wouldn't load for some reason!) but that stick comment made me laugh Grin it's not as bad as all that though, they only put the tip in haha!
Welcome Dileas I remember you from your test thread! Glad you've found your way over here!
Mars all your timelines sound about right tbh, as Biscuits says they don't generally scan early without a reason. But the vast majority of pregnancies are straightforward and it's much more likely that you'll be absolutely fine!
Agree that a bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing when pg. Ignorance is definitely bliss!

Flybynight1 · 07/12/2015 19:32

Mars I've booked in for a 7week scan just before Christmas but it's a private one-don't think they offer earlier scan unless you're considered high risk from previous problems... Is that an option for you? My scans costing me £99 but I know prices vary

PickleBot · 07/12/2015 19:49

Evening all, just checking in as I've had a hectic weekend. My market stall nearly carried me off to Oz on Saturday!

I've been symptom spotting: I seem to be getting my morning sickness in the evenings at the moment, I can't contemplate eating chocolate (very very strange!) but I can't get enough chicken, sausages and eggs...someone wants protein in this body and I'm not sure it's me! Also this evening on the school run my coat was tighter, my friend made a quip about it being twins if it's showing so fast, I'm now terrified as I've got PCOS which makes twins much more likely!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/12/2015 20:12

Don't panic pickle! I looked the same at 6 weeks with DD as I did at 16 weeks...I was so incredibly bloated at this stage! But then I deflated...and then grew a baby bump! It may well go down again (or stay the same size for quite a few weeks while the baby catches up!)

lilygirl81 · 07/12/2015 20:31

Mrs1986 how bad is the pain? You might want to give your EPU a call if it's a 24hour one, or NHS 24 or equivalent where you are. It's unlikely that it's anything, but best to get it checked out

SimileMilly · 07/12/2015 20:44

DD had her settling session at nursery this morning where I was promptly hit with a wash of nausea so symptoms definitely here! I'm exhausted tonight and have a week of running around thanks to the Forth Road Bridge being shut (any other Scottish Aug16s?)

The constant cramps are still niggling at me but glad to read I'm not the only one. It's mainly centred on my left side although stretches across periodically? I don't remember this at all first time round!

At what stage should we be making booking in appointments? I was almost 12 weeks when I found out last time so it's a complete novelty only being a little bit pregnant!

Flybynight1 · 07/12/2015 21:04

Simile there are a few of us here from Aberdeenshire-so we're just up the road! Bet the ridge closure is a complete nightmare! Do you use it regularly? I'm meant to be visiting a friend in Ed at the weekend and planning to take the train but I hear that's a nightmare too!! I had cramps mainly to the left too the first week (I'm pretty sure I ovulated on the left side too) but they've become more all over now. How many weeks are you?

I rang my dr surgery a few days after I found out (4 weeks) but they don't want to see me before 8 weeks so unless something goes awry I am seeing the midwife for my booking in apt on Christmas Eve-I'm glad I called early though as that was actually the first appointment they had! My surgery are mega busy!! I would suggest you call your dr to see what they do though as some GPs refer to the midwife and some are self referral.

Flybynight1 · 07/12/2015 21:06

lily sorry you're feeling like crap right now!! Hope the movicol works, you must be so uncomfortable :-( keep fluids up!!
