Congrats rufus! Hope the removal men's mess and damage is repairable. Flowers

Mawsymoo · 12/12/2015 08:45

Congrats Rufus. It's amazing what you can get done in a couple of days. Concentrate on getting the kitchen unpacked first as that takes the longest and once you have that done you'll feel like you've really moved in!

MaryEllen1 · 12/12/2015 10:51

Congrats rufus hope you get settled in before Christmas

Just ordered nursery furniture, all feels very real now.

Anyone else getting acid reflux? Happens at the weirdest times and not when I've been eating it's horrible!!

MaisieDotes · 12/12/2015 11:03

Yay mawsy sounds like you're well over the hump of it. Fab to be settled in loads of time for Xmas.

rufus I'm sure you will be unpacked and sorted soon too. Bummer about the walls getting marked Sad

mary yes- very much so. To the point that I'm avoiding eating. It's nasty! Envy

madsaz76 · 12/12/2015 13:31

Reflux part of my food problems too.

rufus you can touch walls up later. Best thing is being in and having a plan. Don't forget to look after yourself

clarabellski · 12/12/2015 17:20

In case you miss your kitties tonight rufus:

RattyCatty · 12/12/2015 21:28

rufus I agree with mawsy over getting kitchen done first! Good luck!

Finally started to sort hospital bag - thank goodness for tesco!

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 08:01

Another vote for kitchen first here. Hope you manage to get some sort of rest rufus and you get your ankles back!

Had fun with DS baking his birthday cakes; seemed weird cooking with marge, but it's the one time it has its place. Lots of pink sprinkly decorations as requested DP and I haven't eaten loads, nooooooo Blush

goneswimming · 13/12/2015 10:43

I have a stinking cold again, and this morning I coughed so much it made me vomit- which proved way too much for my pelvic floor so I wet myself as well. Just adding to the glamour we all feel! 😂

MaisieDotes · 13/12/2015 11:05

Happy birthday to your DS chinchilla 🎈🎈- how old is he?

gone that's sounds bloody awful, I hope you feel a bit better later Flowers

madsaz76 · 13/12/2015 11:52

I found a recent cold a threat to pelvic floor function too.

Spent this morning just watching my bump move while watching food porn aka james Martin Christmas stuff. Probably the best thing about pregnancy is the wierd internal acrobatics though worrying about how resolutely head up we are.

Really do need to shift out of my pit soon but concious Sunday mornings in bed will soon be a distant memory Smile

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 13/12/2015 12:01

Aaaah I've been enjoying the ripples going across my tummy too last night and this morning. The baby is going through another active stage over the last 24 hours for some reason. I think it's wriggling into 'head down' position ready for the scan on Tuesday. I feel quite nervous about it 😁

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 17:04

Oh gawd gone what a bloody combo, you poor thing! Hope yr getting some r&r now?

Thanks maisie, he's four. He was so exhausted by the fun/sugar/early starts that he and I gave just spent two hours in bed together, snoozing our Sunday away. He hasn't napped at the weekend in years. And hope you stayed in the pit for hours mad, 'tis an utter luxury that should be relished!

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 17:10

Sorry who, missed the last line of your post- what's the possible outcomes for the scan, is it a matter of baby not getting into the right position, or size?

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 13/12/2015 17:28

Chinchilla it's a growth scan and a general check up on placenta and fibroid. I hate scans nowadays so I just feel nervous every time we are close to one. Hopefully it will be another milestone to get past and we an start talking to the consultant about labour options. Oh and actually tell my inlaws I'm pregnant as they don't actually know 😳😳

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 20:14

Totally understandable; hopefully once you get in there and everything is fine you can enjoy seeing the baby, but can completely get why you're not looking forward to it.
And telling the in-laws...um, I guess there's a reason why they don't know at this point? Is your DP not close to them, or are they a bit take-everything-over?

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 13/12/2015 20:27

They are lovely but I've had three miscarriages that they know about and I just didn't want to get their hopes up and lose another one. So I persuaded DP to allow me to keep my head down since I started showing and surprise them when we were nearly at the finish line.

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 20:52

Yep, I found the 'having to tell family' bit after my MMC this year utterly grim Sad It should be an amazing Christmas present for them though!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 13/12/2015 20:53

God I hope so chinchilla xx

madsaz76 · 13/12/2015 21:00

Wow who thats good skills on the keeping your head down front!

I don't think I had every appreciated the amount of anxiety mums feel around pregnancy, which seems to pass everyone else by. So many opportunities to feel worried. Hope your scan goes well & good luck with telling them!

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2015 21:06

I know how I felt going for the 12 week scan this time round after having bad news at the one five months previously, so God knows how you must be feeling going through this pregnancy. Sucks any enjoyment out of it whatsoever Flowers
Sounds like they're keeping a good eye on you though, and we are so close now.

Sighing · 13/12/2015 22:38

Flowers I held out until 20 weeks. It's difficult to go it "alone" I completely understand your reasons. Certainly I wanted to hold out until it was obvious too.

monkerina · 14/12/2015 09:01

Flowers Some of my best friends still don't know, for the same reason. Think I'm due to get a scan on the 11th Jan (have a consultant visit then as I was part of their infertility clinic) so might bite the bullet then. Good luck!

haquoi123 · 14/12/2015 11:44

Best of luck with your scan tomorrow whoknew!

Happy birthday to your ds chinchilla, he sounds adorable :)

Baby brain hit with a vengeance this morning - enjoying a wonderful lie in with fantastic dreams and then realised it was 8.30 and I was supposed to have been teaching at 8... I hadn't even put the bloody thing in my diary, so stupid. I haven't done that since I was a teenager.

On the plus side, I ordered a whole load of nappies (bamboo terry squares and nature's babies big softies for the gparents) as well as 3 wool wraps, washable wipes, nappy bucket, mesh bags and washable nipple pads. Part of me freaked out a little but I'm mainly excited! FIL has been here painting so we're on our way to being able to put baby things in the room! We also found a couple of paintings, one of the animal we've nicknamed him for and another is an alphabet. I'm psyching myself up for retrieving DS' moses basket and other baby things from my Mum's house. Almost ready to do it but not quite yet.

We're getting closer!! Who is up first by the way?

rufus are things at the new house looking a little better after the weekend?

This morning has left me in tears. Phonecall from the doctors about my GTT result. I failed. I've been swimming to try to calm down but basically any calm I'd achieved over the health of this pregnancy has gone out of the window. I now have to inform the midwife, I guess? I'm not even sure of what will happen. Just petrified of the damage already done. Only myself to blame Sad
