Belle - join the waiting club here :D

I had my flu jab with DC1 at 28 weeks with whooping cough and 5 weeks with this one. My GP just jabbed me when I said "they mentioned the flu jab but I'm not sure should i have it?" "yes, I'll do it now stab" - glad in a way I didn't have more time to think. My GP friends scared me into it with DC1 as they told me of all sorts of complications flu can bring to pregnant women.

Mollie - do your work know you are pregnant? I can't believe all the stories I'm reading about stroppy workplaces and pregnant women! What makes me laugh is the complaints are usually from men who have many kids that their own wives had to grow! Poor you, hope you feel better soon!

LouLou030783 · 09/12/2015 20:26

Congrats on all the beautiful scan pics xx hope everyone else is well..

Only 6 days until my scan now the countdown is on xx

obsessed1 · 09/12/2015 20:40

congratulations Emma on your lovely scan x
I also had mine today and had the shock of my life. I went from thinking there was nothing in there, to discovering that we are having identical twins! so excited, it seems magical somehow, but also slightly freaked out by the financial/practical implications now that it is beginning to sink in. They moved my due date forward by almost a week, so I'm now dated at 13+3, due 12th June, but also discovered that most twin pregnancies don't carry to term so it's looking like babies might arrive in May!!xxx

MollieRos · 09/12/2015 20:43

dolly yep, my managers known for ages. She's actually been lovely about it generally- she even gave me a little talk about how work wasn't important, it was family and love that were so I should always make those my priority Smile The real issue is that I work for the NHS, and although I'm pretty certain it's frowned upon to vomit on my patients, the powers that be (above my manager) are also entirely unsympathetic about us employees being off work ill.

mrslewis2015 · 09/12/2015 20:45

Congratulations Emma and Obsessed.... Twins!! How incredible!

Congratulations amy too, great news!

LouLou030783 · 09/12/2015 20:48

Omg obsessed fab news, congrats! My due date was moved from 17th to 12 from my scan too!

GrubbyWindows · 09/12/2015 21:24

Aaaaaahhhhh obsessed twins!!!!!!
So much for nobody in there, there's two of 'em!!
So exciting!!
And so lovely to have a happy scan shocker after some sad news on the thread.
You must be reeling!

I keep forgetting to ask, nehag how's your mum doing?? I hope it's all a lot less stressful than it was.

Sympathy to the vommers, let's hope it's winding down a bit now.

BiffleRoo · 09/12/2015 21:25

Oh wow obsessed twins!!!

AltCarbon · 09/12/2015 21:37

Wow - this thread moves so fast. Condolences for the sad news but lots of congratulations too for all the good.
I'm another one still waiting for a first scan - not got too long though as it's Friday morning.
I hope emma shares her reveal with us. I was going to do scan pic in Christmas cards but my family figured it out before I could as when I was diagnosed with the DVT it was the only risk factor.
Best of luck to all still waiting - wonder if anyone else will have the surprise of twins?

mrsmugoo · 09/12/2015 21:40

Ooooh twins!! Amazing news!

emma85x · 09/12/2015 22:19

obsessed Congratulations!!! How incredible!!! I'd love to see your photo!

I will Altcarbon as soon as we work out what to do! 2 days you go! Will be telling mum first. It's her first grandchild.. She's going to be bouncing off the walls! Love your Christmas card idea.

laughingGnomette · 09/12/2015 22:20

Oh wow obsessed twins!! That's amazing congratulations! Do they run in your family xx

Weepants143 · 10/12/2015 07:05

Hey all - I've been absent for a wee while but have been catching up! I'm in the 'still waiting for my scan' camp but it's on Monday 14th. I think we are scan date buddies Belle although I think you are further ahead than me as I'll be 12+3 then! I'm nervous and excited in equal measure!!

Twins is so exciting Obsessed! Congratulations, and to all the other mummies who have had their scans too I've loved seeing the pics Smile

I'm feeling really rubbish at the moment - sore throat, sore head, and my head just feels full, think it may be my sinuses. Paracetamol is just not cutting it. Of course I haven't dared be off work, they don't know I'm pregnant yet. If I can just make it to Friday I'll have a restful weekend (as restful as my 23 month old DS will allow) and hopefully feel better! If anyone knows anything that can be taken through pregnancy for clearing sinuses please let me know xx

jbiscuits · 10/12/2015 07:17

Wow congratulations obsessed!

I can't remember who asked, but I'm due on the 1st June (but I'm not new, just very bad at keeping up with the thread!)

Sorry you're feeling ill weepants. I don't really know what you can take. Have you got a pharmacy nearby you could ask?

Lovelybeano · 10/12/2015 07:27

I think Vicks vapour rub is safe to use weepants but not olbas oil, hope you start to feel better soon xx

bikingintherain · 10/12/2015 07:30

Fantastic news obsessed! Congratulations to others who have had scans too.

I haven't been offered a flu jab here, I'm going to ask next time I go. But I would highly recommend it. I caught swine flu with DD1 and it was horrible and also very worrying. (I'd had the normal vaccine) I know each strain of flu is different but even so, I would protect myself and baby anyway I could.

iamdivergent · 10/12/2015 07:30

Fab news re the scans going well, and twins that's fantastic obsessed

Had a bad day yesterday, brought up my breakfast along with alot of bile, then my dinner Sad so I went to bed at 8! Fingers crossed today is better.

bikingintherain · 10/12/2015 07:41

That's horrible divergent. How far along are you now? Are you seeing any improvement at all?

nehagarg · 10/12/2015 08:11

obsessed thats brilliant news. I remember people wondering early on if twins were going to hapoen in this group. How exciting!!

Grubby - Thanks for asking. She is still in hospital but can walk a few steps now and dad is back so I have come back to London.

Another one here with a very sore throat and blocked nose. DH caught it feom his sis who is visiting us and I caught it from him. He had a bit of fever too so I am terrified, I'll get it too. Going to stay in bed today and do everything to make sure that doesnt happen. And all this after getting the flu jab when I was 6 weeks!

emma you must be so excited. Its lovely to be the one planning to surprise people.

divergent thats horrendous. Are you on meds at all?
