Aww Amy you must be worried, hopefully you'll get some more info soon xx

laughingGnomette · 02/12/2015 13:53

amy - bless you. 80% chance is very good odds though. Wishing you the best for your tests.

I'm so pleased to say my scan went very well today! The sonographer actually made me go to the loo because my bladder was too full! Blush.
Baby was nice and wriggly and the measurements placed me at 12+5 but they are keeping my due date the same.

5 days til scan time. I definately have a little bump now, it's there when I lie down too very small though!

Good luck with the cvs Amy, I'm too new to this to be able to offer any good advice but 80% chance of being ok sounds good :-) thinking of you xxx

I think I have a proper bump now, 11+1 today and don't feel bloated any more but have a small tummy that starts at my belly button and peaks below it so think that's possibly what it is now which is exciting! I thought with your first you often didn't show till later? I try to do lots of core work but perhaps my muscles aren't as good as I thought they were lol.

Lovely seeing all the scans!

Rose2806 · 02/12/2015 14:16

And mollie hope you are still feeling better- I'm ok today so Monday was a bit weird! I'm hoping to do nct as will be moving to a new area so will need some friends!

GrubbyWindows · 02/12/2015 14:22

Oh amy I've been thinking of you waiting for your bloods, I'm sorry it is still stressful. You're so right though, 80% chance there is nothing to worry about!
I'm guessing you've already been put on to ARC www.arc-uk.org
Your midwife should be there to help too, although it can be such a lottery. Argh! Thinking of you!!!!

Louise34567 · 02/12/2015 14:24

Tatted I've been having runny eggs occasionally ... I read about it and apparently if they've got a lion stamp (I assume on the box is still ok if they're not on the egg itself) it means they're safe. (I had an overwhelming boiled egg craving last week!)

amysmummy12345 · 02/12/2015 14:29

Thanks grubby 😍 xx

Belleboo23 · 02/12/2015 14:52

Don't really understand all the tests we have you think I would by now! I had the blood tests done at booking in, is it those along with the scan and your age that determines your odds. I'm 36 so guessing that will up mine. I can't remember what it was with my other two.
Hopefully your other tests will help Amy, like others have said 80% is very good xx

bikingintherain · 02/12/2015 15:02

I don't know if you know this or not (anyone who cares!) but some soft cheeses are ok. They need to be pasteurised, which traditionally they weren't, but many soft cheeses are now. Check on the back of the package (so not deli brought) but some are. My friend who is a midwife was telling me as she looked at the back of a package of goats cheese and then offered me some!

bikingintherain · 02/12/2015 15:06

HANG ON with the cheeses! I just checked NHS website and it still says no.

So the Dutch way and the British way is different. Take your pick in which to go with!

bikingintherain · 02/12/2015 15:07

*are. In my haste to post my grammar went out the window!

bikingintherain · 02/12/2015 15:09

Or maybe it didn't. I don't know. My pregnant brain is confused. But I'm going to stop posting now before I take over the thread with nonsense.

nehagarg · 02/12/2015 15:10

Cheeses, eggs, meat .. I don't know what I'd do if they ban chocolates! Grin

GrubbyWindows · 02/12/2015 15:15

biking yes pasteurised is ok here too! But not if it has a mould rind (ie Brie etc). Gloriously, Stilton was put on the YES list just before I was last pregnant (also over Xmas), but not its unpasteurised version, stitchelton (which is more delicious of course).

Frenchwomen eat Brie but not salad, so there you go.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and was also measured at 12 + 5 laughingGnomette :D this is our first baby and we were both amazed and in awe of the tiny human! Just wish I could of had more chance to watch the screen like my partner did :P

PrincessPunzie · 02/12/2015 15:42

Belleboo they will do an extra blood test at your scan as well as a measurement of the baby's neck to determine your risk factor. I'm also 36, and my odds just came back as one in 6110, so try not to worry. amy I hope it all turns out okay for you, I've read plenty of stories on here about people with high odds having perfectly normal babies, and one of my friends had high odds twice and both her boys are fine x

cautiousoptimist1 · 02/12/2015 16:55

I had my scan today and all is well. Such a relief! This one isn't the best of our pictures quality wise but I like that he looks like a leggy little bean!

MagicDucky · 02/12/2015 16:57

More lovely scans lady's!!

nehagarg Indian smelling office is my worst nightmare as a pregnant woman, normally I'd love it though I end up eating a lot of Indian haha!

amy I know it's a really worrying time for you but you're right, 80% chance is really reassuring! Hard as it is try. Not to worry too much!

So where are we at on the cheese thing? Am I still allowed Philadelphia?! I just want to eat that by the bucket! I'm sure my midwife said that was fine last time?

BiffleRoo · 02/12/2015 17:14

ducky Philadelphia is fine as is brie/Camembert if cooked and blue cheese is also allowed now

Belleboo23 · 02/12/2015 17:17

Thank you princesspunzie I'm assuming blood tests were fine from booking in appointment because haven't heard anything!!
Magicducky I was told philladelphia is fine was one of the only things I could stomach at the very start either on crackers or pasta!!

MagicDucky · 02/12/2015 17:20

Thanks Biffle that's what I though I just get myself into a panic.

On the subject of panic, could someone please talk sense into me? Just downloaded the Doppler app onto my phone and could swear I heard a heartbeat! These apps surely aren't that good, I was just having a play didn't expect to find anything!! Now I'm all excited!

MagicDucky · 02/12/2015 17:21

Belleboo I like a bagel with Philadelphia and bacon! Yum yum!!
