Lovely scan pictures jelly and Torfhinn.

Beano. I completely agree. Love how they all look different. Smile

Its been a couple of weeks since my 12 week scan so obviously I was back to freaking out today. (The next one is SO far away). Broke out the doppler and there was a horse galloping away in there. Phew!

The stats they give you about the risk of miscarriage dropping away to 1% after 12 weeks doesnt help me at all. Whats numbers compared to a live heartbeat? I am good for another week now. Grin

Thanks for the info on the NCT classes. I wqs wondering whether to do them too.

Really hope the hypermesis eases up Madrigal. Horrible for you to have to go through it for so long.

Hope you feel better Magic. My office smells like curry because of an Indian restaurant downstairs. No matter how many weeks, I always get queasy in there. Sad

I did NCT with DC1 and thought it was great-I didn't know many people and I met lovely people who really kept me sane during the early months and are not great (wine) buddies now!
There was a lady on DC2 in our group and she found it difficult to meet us as her DC1 was in a different routine to all of our newborns. I suspect she regretted going a second time.
I've moved areas and know absolutely no one so I'm hoping having this baby will be an excuse to make friends. Unfortunately there are no refresher NCT courses in the area and after my experience with the lovely lady on DC2 in my first NCT group I don't want to fork out for the standard course. I'll have to get my thinking cap on about how to meet people!

  • now great wine buddies!

Good to read about the NCT classes. I would like to give them a go but not sure if DH will be put off due to cost, also his friend who became a dad recently has been telling him they weren't very helpful :(. My main reason for thinking its a good idea is we moved here in August and I know precisely no one whatsoever! DH used to live here and went to uni here so has loads of friends. I guess I am a bit worried about being isolated when the baby gets here and I won't be going to work. Good to hear that there is always someone on here to chat in the early days!

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/12/2015 09:57

Violet yay another baby lying with their head on the left. I was starting to get a bit worried as all other scan pics I see the baby is lying with their head on the right. Glad it's not just me, must be normal either way lol.

It's strange what we worry about in pregnancy isn't it.

Congrats everyone on the positive scans :)

lemonslemonslemons · 02/12/2015 10:12

17caterpillars, mine was upright when the sonographer first put the ultrasound on it!

Belleboo23 · 02/12/2015 11:06

Loving the scan pictures!!! Still 12 days until mine. After much frustration yesterday and almost being in tears today at 11+3 I found the heartbeat on my doppler within seconds it was amazing could have laid there all day listening Smile

Belleboo23 · 02/12/2015 11:10

Actually 11+4 just realised it's Wednesday haha

Morning ladies, working from home today not going to get dressed if I can help it!

Lovely scan pics, lemons that's a really cute pic of your dd holding the scan pic!

Looking forward to mine on Monday but really anxious at the same time that everything is ok. Still undecided whether to have the NT screening and blood test or just the scan. Am thinking if I have the blood test and it comes back high risk I may pay for a nifty/harmony test before considering cvs/amnio.

Violet88 · 02/12/2015 11:53

Betty I decided not to have the screening. I told the midwife that I wouldn't have an amnio even if it was high risk, as I believe that a high risk result still means its more likely than not that the baby will be healthy. So she said that there wasn't any point. Also if I did get a high risk and then didn't have amnio I would just be even more worried for the entire pregnancy.

Ha ha Caterpillas i would never have even thought of that!!!

Lovely scan pics lemons and mrsmugoo

mrsmugoodon't know if your bothered or not but its got your name on there!

mrsmugoo · 02/12/2015 11:57

Oh thanks yes I forgot to crop it, I've reported it to mnhq x

amysmummy12345 · 02/12/2015 12:03

Had hospital ring up with bloods results just, those combined with nt of 3.7mm means 1 in 5 chance of there being something wrong 😞 hoping cvs will be more hopeful 😌 lovely scan pictures ladies xxx

jbiscuits · 02/12/2015 12:04

Great to see all the scan pictures Smile

I'm another who didn't so nct the first time around because of the cost. We did the 2 NHS sessions that were offered here, which I think DH found useful (I already knew most of what was said from MN!). No one really talked to each other though, so didn't meet anyone. Fortunately I know lots of mums through church, and then made an effort to go to lots of different things when DS was born.

MrsLewis my bump is a bit lopsided too. I assume it's due to where baby is sitting.

nehagarg · 02/12/2015 12:05

Congrats on the brilliant scans everyone. Lovely pictures Smile

Belleboo .. I am the same but I always get scared I might be hurting the baby so always take it away after a few seconds but that's all I need. just to make sure that all is still okay while I wait to feel kicks. best sound in the world, isnt it?

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 02/12/2015 12:31

Thanks Grubby I wasn't sure if it gives clearer scan photos or not. Confused why some say to and some not.
Great we are scan buddies Tatted pixie. I thought I was surly going to be last. Still seems so long to wait doesn't it.

Lovely scan pictures everyone.

TattedPixie · 02/12/2015 12:34

Has anyone found that since they've become pregnant, you want to eat all the stuff you're not supposed to.
I've been wanting a lovely medium steak for the past week, same with a runny egg.

TattedPixie · 02/12/2015 12:35

Miracles I'm literally counting down the days. I thought I was the last one too

cautiousoptimist1 · 02/12/2015 12:56

Pixie I haven't been as bad as I thought I would be. I'm not really missing wine yet which I thought I would (that actually sounds terrible!) but Xmas will be weird. We have a mini Swiss Xmas on 24th which involves raclette, cured meats and for us Swiss wine but not this year! I have some non alcoholic mulled fruit punch to try.
I missed the cured meats at the food show last week though and would love some goats cheese. I've still been eating eggs - not as runny as before but still runny, I think as long as they're lion stamped (so bought in uk supermarkets rather than from your own chickens) they're ok.

nehagarg · 02/12/2015 12:56

Oh no Amy .. So sorry to hear that. You must be worried sick. Its still one in 5 chance though so everything crossed that the CVS will bring some good news.

amysmummy12345 · 02/12/2015 13:16

Tasks nehagarg, 80% chance everything's ok xxx

amysmummy12345 · 02/12/2015 13:17

Thanks*
