Look at those legs cautious 😍 xxx

bikingintherain · 02/12/2015 17:40

I never congratulated those who have scans got too distracted by cheese. Well done! I'm really happy things have gone well for you.

MollieRos · 02/12/2015 18:03

Loads of really good NCT opinions, thank you everyone! I think we will end up going for NCT, though I do still think it's basically just an expensive way of (hopefully) making some new friends. But I think it may be a good way for DH to meet some other dads, and I'm really not looking forward to baby groups (walking in to groups where I don't know anyone, eek!!), so I think having an NCT group will help me to feel less isolated. But we will have to save some pennies! And as one of my friends said, the key about NCT friends is that they have babies exactly the same age as yours, so you're all going through the same things at the same time, so the support/sanity saving aspect is massive.

Lovely scan pictures everyone, it's so nice to see everyone's beans growing Smile

Amy sending positive thoughts your way... and as you say even though the odds seem scary, in actual fact the odds are really on your side, and chances are everything will be fine.

Rose I haven't thrown up once since Monday, perhaps my body was just getting the rest of the sickness out of the way! I still feel sick, but loads better than before. Fingers crossed!!

And oh my goodness, I've been thinking about dippy eggs with soldiers for ages now, I don't even like that normally! Maybe I'll treat myself then in lion stamped ones are ok.

mrsmugoo · 02/12/2015 18:09

I am totally eating runny yolks this pregnancy. I didn't last time but this time I'm not denying myself that!

GrubbyWindows · 02/12/2015 18:29

Yes, hip hip hooray for all the lovely scans!!

Re eggs, last time I was travelling loads for work, and managed to book myself into some very lovely hotels. I kept forgetting and ordering things like poached duck eggs for breakfast! So so yummy... Should be fine, British laying birds are vaccinated for salmonella hence the lion mark making it ok. (and no hotel would possibly buy cheap imported eggs LALALALA)

Belvedere · 02/12/2015 18:38

Lovely scans today, well done everyone.

I've had runny eggs every day for the past two weeks, I can't seem to get enough of them at the moment. And sushi, I've been craving it and eating it loads. Baby just need it :)

Belleboo23 · 02/12/2015 18:54

Ive been needing bacon aswell!! I think someone said on here those downloadable doppler apps are sometimes fake. I got the angel sounds one from amazon for £20 although the ear phones that it came with were rubbish I used some big ones we already had, it's so lovely to hear and was just what I needed for reassurance as didn't have an early scan and my 12 week scan will be late not till the 14th

LouLou030783 · 02/12/2015 20:03

Dare I say at 10+5 I feel good??? No sickness in 2 days...although I feel great the paranoid part of me thinks it's not a good sign

Torfhinn · 02/12/2015 20:25

Thanks for all the nct advice everyone. Unfortunately there aren't any refresher courses here so i think I'll give the main one a miss at £186 Shock Must just make more of an effort to make friends (not easy for me).

Glad you are keeping positive amy, it's a stressful time for you. Fx everything is okay.

Lovely to see so many great scan photos everyone - i especially love yours alice - baby looks very relaxed with hands behind head! Grin

TattedPixie · 02/12/2015 20:34

Had a random burst of energy at work earlier and even managed to eat a full dinner. Here's hoping that not much nausea from here on in. Although I'm not counting my chickens for it to stay nice

Louise34567 · 02/12/2015 20:36

biking your posts made me smile - I do this all the time - with my pregnancy brain I forget what I'm trying to say and sometimes get frustrated with myself for grammar errors ha ha! You're much more composed than me though, I must say. I work from home and the other day I was literally staring at the screen for about two hours, finding it impossible to string a simple email together.

To everyone talking about runny eggs ... oh my goodness, me too. I don't normally like eggs and soldiers but I think it was nostalgia from when I was younger and off sick from school (not unlike pregnancy and work...!!) and mum would make it for me. That comfort came back when I boiled an egg ha ha oh dear that sounds pretty sad but there you go. Hopefully they're safe.

Louise34567 · 02/12/2015 20:36

Congrats everyone on the amazing scans by the way :)

Mine's not until 21 Dec.

cautiousoptimist1 · 02/12/2015 22:12

Louise that's not sad, it's a nice comfort. My grandpa used to make the best weetabix when we were kids (with hot milk and loads of sugar!), I can't make it anything like he did. My mum made it once in my kitchen and I had to leave as I was about to cry - and I wasn't even pregnant then! Funny how food can trigger such memories.

The pictures of baby Charlotte released by the royals have had me googling jellycat toys and some of them are super cute. I love the cordy fox but even my husband thinks the cordy hound is ace! Sorry if I give you all the bug now!! (Well only partially sorry, it's good to share!)

Louise34567 · 02/12/2015 22:29

cautious that's so lovely about weetabix - I totally agree with you. It can be a strong pull to memories sometimes, can't it.

Googling jellycat toys now ...

mrsmugoo · 02/12/2015 22:39

Re pregnancy brain - I forgot my own postcode yesterday. I've lived in the same place 15 years!!

Dirtycat · 03/12/2015 04:07

4am - what better time to be thinking about pants?! Anybody got any recommendations? My pants can't cope with my waistline and they are driving me mad! Some of you lovely ladies were talking about big maternity pants earlier on this thread and I need those in my life! From where, please?!

mrsmugoo · 03/12/2015 06:19

I stayed in little knickers under the bump the whole way through last time but bought packs of primark "classic briefs" for after my c sec - they go right up to the waist so those might be good for now but they wouldn't really work for a big 3rd tri bump

PrincessPunzie · 03/12/2015 06:20

I love Jellycat toys! I always buy them for friends' new babies and have rather a collection of the little girl and bunny ones all of my own! I guess they'll be harder to get for a while now that they have a royal stamp of approval...

mrsmugoo · 03/12/2015 06:59

Oh god our house is besieged with jellycat toys!

Belleboo23 · 03/12/2015 07:16

The jellycat toys are lovely my daughter has a few of them along with loads of other soft toys Hmm

jbiscuits · 03/12/2015 08:30

DS's favourite toy is a big jellycat monkey. I should probably try to find another one at some point in case he loses it. He also has a small elephant called Jelly (I'm not very original when it comes to naming soft toys!). I imagine this little one will end up with quite a few too!

nehagarg · 03/12/2015 09:05

Oooh LOVE jellycat toys. I keep buying them for my niece and nephew.

Grit my teeth today and stepped on that weighing scale. Gained 3.9 kg (about 8 lbs) in 14 weeks (most of it my boobs). Anyone else keeping an eye? Is this normal?

mrsmugoo · 03/12/2015 09:14

Yep same here - about 7lb gain. I'll probably stop weighing soon! It's normal just roll with it (unless you're literally ballooning!)

JoMalones · 03/12/2015 09:22

I have eaten soft cheese this time. Not very much. With my first I waited until I was overdue to have a massive Brie baguette but this time I have to admit I've eaten a small amount of Brie and Stilton - nowhere near the amount I normally would (or the wine to go with it!) To be fair, I've thrown it back up so probably doesn't count anyway Wink
These scans are all so lovely!

With knickers, I've just bought 2 sizes up in bikini briefs (hit topshop the other day!) but after my section I have big cotton granny pants (which embarrassingly my other half saw)

laughingGnomette · 03/12/2015 10:03

I dread to think how much weight I've gained. DS who is three said yesterday that my tummy looks "full"!

I'm getting my backside over to Oxford street on my lunch break to finally get some maternity jeans! Hooray!!
