Lovely scans everyone! Congratulations!

So pregnancy insomnia here I am... Woke at 3am it's now 4.30am... Feeling sick and tired and worried, had a very hard day at work, handed my notice in to work at my nursery, to work as a nanny and go back to my old work as a designer... I just can't hack looking after 28 3-4year olds anymore! And my colleague and friend told us of his very sad news of being diagnosed with testicular cancer (aged 30) so an all together emotional day... No wonder I can't sleep.

Sorry to vent, just eurghh.

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 26/11/2015 05:44

Emma where are you booked? Sounds like you are fairly local to me. I'll be delivering at the RBH in Reading.

I'm another one suffering in the bowels department. So bloated and constipated. It's awful...

Lovelybeano · 26/11/2015 06:53

Aww mrslewis I'm sure you've made the right decision regarding work and such sad news about your friend, sending some cyber cuddles xxx

Rose2806 · 26/11/2015 06:55

Sorry to hear you have a lot on your mind mrslewis :-( hope you have managed to get some more rest now.

I had to be up at 5am for a flight, of course I was already awake when the alarm went off!

Bristol people- what is the maternity care like there in general? We're not sure whether to stay where we are for when I have the baby as midwife is only 5 Mins walk away and we also live very close to the hospital where I would be due to give birth, the care I have received here so far has been really good.. The area we are hoping to move to is just outside Bristol 10 mins drive out so from the Clifton bridge.. It would seem a shame though to miss out on meeting people via the antenatal classes!

17caterpillars1mouse · 26/11/2015 08:53

Eurgh when will the sickness end? Has anybody else's sickness gone up another notch since getting to 12 weeks or am I just weird.

Though as hubby pointed out if the sickness now suddenly stops I'll only worry until the 16 week midwife appointment when I hear the heartbeat

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 26/11/2015 09:57

MrsLewis, sorry to hear of your colleague. And looking after that many 3-4 year olds does not sound at all fun. Sometimes coming to a decision is the hardest bit.

Hope you got some rest.

PrincessPunzie · 26/11/2015 09:58

Rose I can't speak for the midwife care in Bristol as mine is local to South Glos, but our friends who had a baby last year speak extremely highly of the staff and facilities at Southmead. That's where I'll be giving birth so I was delighted to hear such a positive review!

carrie1008 · 26/11/2015 10:01

Finally got my scan date through...but it's not until the 15th December when I'll be 13+1. I ended up phoning the ultrasound department directly to book it so if anyone else is getting concerned you may get your appt over the phone too?

mrsmugoo · 26/11/2015 10:17

I'm Southmead too princesspunzie I had my last there and I couldn't fault them.

I just phoned to chase my scan date and it's next Wednesday, I'll be 12+6.

laughingGnomette · 26/11/2015 10:31

mrslewis - , it sounds like you've made the right decision. You have to put yourself first xx

17 - my symptoms have become worse again this week (11wks). Sore boobs, nausea, constant headaches, being a grumpy cow. My body had fooled me into thinking I was over the worst Angry

Yep still really sick here at 12 weeks. Horrible! I'm wishing the pregnancy to go fast!

lepudding · 26/11/2015 11:42

Made it to 12w4 days! Had my date slightly adjusted to 7 June, not sure the one day makes much difference, but there we go. Unbelievable difference in what the scan shows compared to the ones I had at 5w (empty black hole) and 7w (potato-jellyfish thing).

Hello to everyone! Also can't believe we've managed four threads already.

Lovely scan pics lepudding !!

iamdivergent · 26/11/2015 13:42

I just bought a load of maternity clothes, I'm lucky if I'll be able to stay in my normal clothes for another week, I'm washing a pair of jegging every night so I have something wear that closes and all my tops are getting stretched to the max.

I ordered on new look, they have a bit of a sale atm and I had a code that they sent me on my birthday so I got £90 worth of stuff for £60. Ordered 4 tops (2 long and 2 short sleeved), a jumper, under bump skinnies and a parka. Can't wait til it arrives and I can be in comfy clothes. Just hope I'm not tempting fate Confused but it had to be done!

Belleboo23 · 26/11/2015 14:16

Lovely scans!
Well had my scan appointment through finally and it was for our mega busy day at work - I look after the kids over lunch at a primary school and it's our Christmas dinner day.....an earlier or later time that day would have been fine so its typical haha! Rang up and, could only get one for 3 days later on December 14th I'll be 13+2 then. So wanting my doppler to arrive Smile

TattedPixie · 26/11/2015 14:20

Had my first bout of morning sickness today. Completely took me by surprise and wasn't pleasant. Hopefully it isn't the start of something daily, I wouldn't be able to deal with daily sickness (emetaphobic)

BiffleRoo · 26/11/2015 14:26

Got mine too belle. I'll be 12+5 for mine so not too bad. Have a nap dodging toddler today who just wants cuddles. Hope he's not going down with something

dollydaydream84 · 26/11/2015 14:43

Horrible for you TattedPixie - last time despite extreme horrid nausea, the first time I threw up was 30 weeks and at least once a week thereafter. Completely goes against the text books!

Gorgeous picture lepudding - I am desperate for my 12 week scan now, 2 weeks tomorrow!!

Belleboo23 · 26/11/2015 14:47

Oh no hope your little one isn't getting poorly.
I had to take dd for a blood test today they think she may have low iron levels. she has no good veins bless her so they went in her hand was awful she was so upset but I was very proud of her for sitting so well. Trip to toys r us later for us!
Am a bit disappointed about my scan was so hoping it would be within the next two weeks, should get a good picture tho I guess. My hospital charge £10 for 2 pictures or £18 for 4 thought that was a lot! Once this scan is done and if all of I'm booking a 4d one for about 17 weeks so we can take the kids to find out if this will be ds2 or dd2!!

dollydaydream84 · 26/11/2015 15:05

Ahh your poor little one Belle - they can never get blood out of me and usually end up using kids needles! (but no one takes me to Toys R Us! [sad) hope she is ok x Wow that is expensive for scan pics! Are you in central london? When is your scan? How far along will you be?

Belvedere · 26/11/2015 15:36

Rose I had my last baby at st Michaels and couldn't fault the care. The midwives were amazing and I even managed to get my own room which was amazing for recovery after my c section. My local midwives are also fab and I'm seeing the same one this time as I did last time. They are very pro natural births and midwife led units.

cheshirem2b · 26/11/2015 15:36

tomboygirl I'm at the Countess of Chester - had my daughter there in Jan and cannot fault them!

Belleboo23 · 26/11/2015 15:54

dollydaydream I will be 13+2 no not London I'm in Leicester I thought it seemed expensive! Just picked her up from school she just went for the afternoon her hand is bruising and sore Sad

Dirtycat · 26/11/2015 16:42

Another amazing scan to add to the many wonderful pictures that have been put on here recently. Time to relax and enjoy!

I just found my baby's heartbeat on the fetal Doppler app - at least I think I did. Grin it was definitely not mine, much much faster and sounded like the example for the baby's heartbeat that you have to listen to as part of the app instructions.
Is it possible or do you think I am going mad? I'm 10+6
