Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 40th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Or I'll have to delete MN and join NM

jellypi3 · 11/11/2015 09:40

Shock Shock Shock Shock

Don't say such foul things la!!!

FeatheredTail · 11/11/2015 10:04

Enjoy your day of cat snuggles and tea Pud - and hope you catch up on some kip.

Ill - so pleased to see you here! Congrats! Lucky you getting your first scan so early on, too!

Jelly....we didn't think our house needed much/any work either.... new double glazing throughout, new kitchen roof, new front door on the way, insulation under floor boards and a new electric system later....! Haha! Although we were probably a bit slap dash with the purchase! Wink so sure yours will be a much easier and fun ride!

Yoga - yes, told my Mum (who has now told EVERYONE - including her beautician, the hairdresser, the window cleaner, the plumber, the entire WI, her church group and the lady who runs the village shop) who was VERY EXCITED and completely taken by surprise! REEEESULT! Had a big family gathering this weekend too, so it's out there! Don't particularly like being the centre of attention and didn't particularly like all the questions (are you finding out whether it's a girl or a boy? What's your name short list? etc) but expected I guess!

Oh GOD LA - I went on NM yesterday to look at a "boy or girl?" scan picture thread. I know this sounds really mean and judgemental....but all the posters seemed a bit....lobotomised? It was a different world. I shut down the window and scuttled back to MN sharpish!

pretzelpieces · 11/11/2015 10:07

Welcome ill and congrats again!

pud I hope your back feels better soon. Flowers

la and ga good to see you and thanks for the fred recommendation la, I've had nothing but doom and gloom and I need some positivity to remind me why I'm doing this.

So I got a call today from a different midwife about my gtt result, saying they might want me to monitor my blood sugars after all and she's going to talk to the consultant and see. I said I would like some more advice on my diet, especially as I have a history of eating disorders so she is going to try to get me an appointment for that as well. (I hate extra appointments but I think that could be helpful.) Not a good start to my day. Feeling quite depressed about the whole thing.

CarrotPuff · 11/11/2015 12:38

Yay, congrats Illiria and welcome! I was wondering how you were getting on with your treatment.

Pretzel ThanksIt will all be ok in the end, just keep your eyes on the prize!

oneyorkshirepud · 11/11/2015 13:05

Hang in there Pretzel, it sounds like you are going to be well cared for with the GTT and the brain weasels. You are getting close to the finish line now.

Had a look at M & S Xmas food. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Grin

jellypi3 · 11/11/2015 14:44

man m&s food...nom!!!!!

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 11/11/2015 14:57

Hello all - wow I seem to have missed loads!

Sympathies to those with colds (I think country mentioned that) - I'm in the same boat and it's fucking hideous.

Likewise, is anyone finding it really difficult to stay asleep at night? A few people have mentioned being hot, but do you manage to sleep okay?

M and S food - yes, do it!!!! Especially if it's just a one off because the alternative would be such a huge pain in the arse. Who wants to be arsing around cooking and all that shit when heavily pregnant/with a newborn? Answer: NO-ONE.

Yorkshire - if you are a bit of a food snob, could you maybe do a half and half job? So get the most complicated things from M and S, but then do other parts yourself? Like, do the turkey yourself but buy the trimmings, or vice versa?

For some reason, we will be hosting a dinner of 7/8 on christmas day, when I am on the verge of dropping a baby out. I was hoping to get a lot from M and S a couple of days in advance and just shove it in the fridge, but I don't think they do the food order service over here.

I don't really mind, but I am a bit bitter that due to our tiny freezer, this means we will have to use up all the batch cooking I have already done (so that there is space to pre cook a bunch of christmas dinner shit), and then RE-DO a bunch of batch cooking to go in the freezer directly after Christmas. So I basically have to re-do all the batch cooking days before I'm due.

It feels so petty to be irritated about, but I can't help it!

Jcandy · 11/11/2015 15:08

Hope you are having a relaxing day at home pud I didn't sleep well either but the beauty of mat leave is that you can nap whenever!

jelly I don't think I've heard of any baby crushing whilst in womb when your asleep type injuries. I think you'd just roll over if it was going to be a problem. Baby will let you know!

pret it will mean you get even more support. You just keep letting them know your worries and concerns and then they will know how best to help you. Think I'd rather have to stick to restrictive food choices for a reason though and by monitoring your blood sugar you'll be able to see exactly how it affects you

gouda that sounds like a lot of work! You'll have to task them with restocking your freezer with yummy meals post Christmas

So I washed all baby clothes etc. yesterday and I've got my birth preferences down 9n paper today. My hospital bag is coming along with more and more things being laid out on the spare bed. I'm enjoying this organisation with plenty of sofa and TV time wedged in

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 11/11/2015 15:22

Good work jcandy ! That's some pretty good organisation there!

pretzelpieces · 11/11/2015 16:04

Thanks you lovely lot. It is good that I had the gtt and know about it and should be getting support. It is it is. We're going to our first nct class tonight and I'll have a face like a smacked arse. Everyone will want to be friends with meeee!

gouda "on the verge of dropping a baby" Grin can you use some space in someone else's freezer for a while so you don't have to redo the cooking?

KateBeckett · 11/11/2015 17:50

gouda could you not sent dp on an m&s hunting mission just before Xmas?!

Hope your nct class goes okay pretzel

Pills the GP gave are really helping with my ms Smile she told me to take the rest of the week off work, but I'm having guilt about it now I'm feeling better... Think I'm going to try to go back tomorrow, or maybe Friday. I know my school has been having some issues with people being off, which isn't helping the guilt!!

Illiria · 11/11/2015 18:19

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Kate - don't feel guilty, if you need to have those days off then work can deal with it. Why should others get to stay off and you don't? I usually find when I'll even if meds are making me feel better at home if I go into work I feel awful again and have to leave anyway.

Pretzel - sorry to hear about blood sugars. Hopefully it can be contained by healthy eating.

CarrotPuff · 11/11/2015 18:47

Gouda that's a pain in the bum! Where I am from it's v popular for everyone to bring a cooked dish or two to the table so that the host doesn't end up slaving in the kitchen all day. You obviously have to coordinate who brings what - maybe this could work for you?

I think baby must be having another growth spurt. I'm exhausted and can't stop eating again.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 11/11/2015 20:19

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

On food woes: carrot and kate- Awesome ideas, but not practical for us unfortunately - BUT pretzel, that's a really good idea about commandeering a friend's freezer for a few days and totally workable for us! I will deffo look into that.

On other issues:

Kate - if the dr has said to take the rest of the week off, then don't feel guilty. It's better to go back when you are totally better, rather than when you are on the mend, otherwise it's just a bad cycle. It's only a few days! Don't feel bad at all and try to enjoy it if possible Grin

Pretzel - Enjoy your NCT class! Sorry to hear about your GTT results, what a pain in the arse!!! I know it's a bit of a shit silver lining, but everyone I know with GD ended up with really helpful super healthy diets, that really helped them when breastfeeding as well (as already in good eating habits and super good food prep routines down pat).

So you can be super smug when you are there being all "What? This? This is just a kale/pork soufflé which has 100% of my RDA of all known vitamins that I just made in 10 minutes" whilst the rest of us get told post pregnancy that our blood types have changed from "A+" to "custard cream" of whatever.

5hell · 11/11/2015 22:03

ooh jc jealous of your mat leave and time to prep!

Jel i worried the other day i'd squished baby when I had to squeeze through a (now too) small gap between some fences after the dogs, but there's a lot of liquid in there too, which would definitely squish in preference to baby I reckon.

have had a v emotional evening, triggered by my boss being annoyingly passive aggressive (we normally get on v well), then topped up by reading some of the lovely 'what's great about having kids' thread (thanks la) and finally watched The Age of Adaline. Suffice to say I am all cried out now and dogs think i'm a loon!

pretzelpieces · 11/11/2015 22:55

It lost my post! Damn it.

I really enjoyed the nct class, everyone seems lovely but I feel so so sorry for this couple because the guy fainted when we were looking at birth diagrams and she tried to help so ended up falling on him. He looked not well at all, very pale and sweaty and she was so upset. Everyone was so nice and supportive about it. In general it was great to meet other terrified newbies. Teacher is very stern!

gouda yay, hope the freezer plan works! Grin at custard cream blood. How did you know I'm A+!

5hell Aw, nowt like a good cry Flowers Sorry to hear about the passive aggressive thing, I find that the hardest to deal with.

jellypi3 · 12/11/2015 07:30

Oh no pretzel poor guy (I'd have laighed...terrible person). Did it feel weird to you that you were expected to make friends? We didn't look at birth diagrams in our first session.

honeysucklejasmine · 12/11/2015 08:02

Fainting? Bless him, he'll never live that one down!

Off for a scan this morning. Gx it opens its legs this time!

jellypi3 · 12/11/2015 08:13

Good luck honey :) has baby moved around more

MollyBloomYes · 12/11/2015 08:31

Fell of the thread a bit there. Thumping headache for last three days, rings don't fit any more, unbelievably tired, in a lot of pain from scar and generally feeling rather blue and sorry for self! In many ways it's a blessing to have a toddler, he's forcing me to get up and out but my goodness I could do with a duvet day! Can't remember who said what but Flowers all round for anyone who needs them!

KateBeckett · 12/11/2015 09:09

Gx honey !

pretzel glad you enjoyed it! That poor guy Grin Grin Grin I think I would have pissed myself!

Thanks for the hooyah about work guys. I've taken today off, but think I'm going to go in tomorrow, Fridays are easy, and I need to pick up my laptop so I can do some planning for next week over the weekend. Can't hide away in bed for the whole 1st trimester!

pretzelpieces · 12/11/2015 09:31

jelly, honey, kate I knowww, the poor guy, he was embarrassed. He just tried to brush it off as quickly as possible. Feel sorry for both of them!

jelly yeah that made me really nervous! Cause I know I'll make mum friends at some point in some way as long as I get out to stuff, but I was kind of nervous and babbly at people at nct because they were like "have a chat in a small group and get to know each other". Cue insomnia last night going over all the 'idiotic' things I said. Hmm

honey gx for genital flashing!

molly this whole time I have been feeling like oh god how do people cope with being pregnant when they already have kids! It seems impossible to me, I am struggling so much and I can pretty much rest between part time work. Star for you and some Flowers, you are doing amazing.

Off to my whooping cough vaccine this morning, what fun. Then not sure whether to hang around in town until work or spend the day on buses going back and forth (still scared of driving).

honeysucklejasmine · 12/11/2015 09:35

It's been moving a bit this morning so we will see!

jellypi3 · 12/11/2015 09:41

i've not been offered the whooping cough vaccine yet! i need to sort that out!!!

pret our instructor said to us "in NCt you will make friends for life"...which made everyone glance at each other and think really.....

hope baby plays ball honey :) naughty mini-honey!

Flowers molly
