Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 40th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

DP doesn't seem convinced about gin.

Daisy birthing sounds tolerable, if I secretly rename it in my head Grin

pretzelpieces · 12/11/2015 22:15

That's great news pud must be reassuring that Xmas pud is in the right place.

molly amen to that. There's so much blaming and shaming around birth and it needs to stop!

country fantastic good scan news

sky yeah with daisy birthing I do take what seems useful and try to let the rest go, my teacher is really laid back so it lends itself to that, I think a lot of it depends on the tutor. Varying levels of crunchiness.

I had my whooping cough vaccination this morning and apart from feeling woozy right after all I've got is a sore arm! I hope this continues! Flu jab nearly killed me (not literally, I'm being melodramatic).

5hell · 12/11/2015 22:32

phew, you lot are chatty today!! will catch up properly in the morning, but wanted to chip in with NFMMW (finally!)...they were 1.5h behind when i arrived, she was surprised my 16w appointment was happening at 20w and that I had therefore had both scans Hmm but in the end all is fine, just slightly low bp and iron. i do feel a bit for her and the NHS in general as I think they are massively understaffed and overworked. and clearly allowing 20mins for each appointment isn't working!? ironically my 25w appointment will now be at 23 weeks! Confused

it must be NCT booking time...trying to choose between essential/signature, both in the next town but i think better than nowt, esp as dh seems to know nothing (i'd have thought he might have googled a few things by now!)

Illiria · 12/11/2015 22:48

gouda - sorry wasn't clear he doesn't insist but when ever I have talked to other Americans here they are like ' you have to film the birth' 'but what if you don't you would regret it the rest of your life' ' how could you not' etc. Have told DH that will put foot down if midwives are like that.

DH is actually very good and has said all along that it's my body and therefore my rules.

5hell · 13/11/2015 06:23

if anyone's pushy ill just tell them you're using your mind camera! ;)

honeysucklejasmine · 13/11/2015 06:23

Morning! Have been kicked for last hour or so, so i am in a good mood this morning! Although I suppose I could now panic at increased movements! But I am serene. What will be, will be. I trust the NHS. Smile (I'd have died a very long time ago if they were indeed useless.)

Still going to go in for monitoring this afternoon, so will chat to parking office and find out how to go about getting weekly passes etc. Car parking is very expensive!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/11/2015 06:36

Glad to hear your spirits up honey Flowers

jellypi3 · 13/11/2015 07:27

Yay for kicks honey, are you getting another scan?

honeysucklejasmine · 13/11/2015 08:03

Today will just be Doppler, as will all daily monitoring until 28 weeks. Scans at 26+1 and 27+1, and I have a growth scan at 28+0 anyway. If need be will continue weekly. From 28 they can do the full monitoring with straps and sensors and shiz.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 13/11/2015 08:11

Illiria - oh thank god!! What a totally weird concept though! Who sits around after the fact with a bag of popcorn re watching their birth video? Confused

honey - I'm keeping everything crossed that it all goes well at the appointment today, and glad you're feeling a little more optimistic

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/11/2015 08:28

Gosh honey that's a lot of monitoring! Your attitude is commendable though - you're right, and in the right hands Thanks

DS slept until 8am! Hallelujah!
And I have no plans, at least nothing set in stone today, so am feeling very chilled out Smile

5hell it sounds as though you live in a v highly populated/understaffed area. I thought Cornwall was bad.

Ill I simply cannot imagine recreational birth video viewing! obem is enough for me! I wonder if it's anything to do with the healthcare system - keeping an eye on what's being done, to tally with the bill?

molly I think we must have has similar first experiences. If anyone spoke to me like that about DS birth, I'm not sure what I'd do. Certainly never have anything to do with them again.

to everyone else, sorry I've a terrible memory for who said what!

pretzelpieces · 13/11/2015 08:29

honey hope all goes well today. You are staying so calm. I am wobbling my belly to try to get mine to kick this morning!

Still just a (fucking painful) sore arm from the whooping cough jab so I'm very happy about that. MW phoned yesterday and they do want me to monitor blood sugars (did I already tell you this?) so I've got to hang about and see them on Monday after physio and get some diet advice too.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/11/2015 09:31

Woop, I remembered to take my preggo vits two days running. New record!

OP posts:
SecondCupOfTea · 13/11/2015 09:57

Shock Thursday! You've had enough days to practice Grin

am pleased and shocked that I've not forgotten once...yet

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 13/11/2015 10:04

Are people still taking pregnancy vitamins??? I stopped ages ago! Blush

Maybe I should start up again....

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/11/2015 10:14

Hahah gouda this is the box I bought after BFP! I'm just totally shit at taking them. Poor little babe, DS was fed folic acid daily, this one...not so much...

Well done tea! When I'm on the pill I have an alarm set on my iPad to make sure I take it every day.

OP posts:
5hell · 13/11/2015 10:17

Go thurs ...I'm on a roll with this box, I think I've managed everyday :) (small wins)

baby shower tomorrow (not mine obviously), should be fun and I will be bleeding friends for tips/ideas/advice

jellypi3 · 13/11/2015 10:26

i've carried on with my vitamins, but if i forget one i've not been so concerned.

apparently i'm having 2 baby showers that are secret but i know about them...

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/11/2015 10:44

Hopefully none of my friends are stupid enough to attempt a baby shower this time. I hates them.

OP posts:
SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/11/2015 11:00

Baby showers are generally a first baby thing only aren't they? My first was traumatic. It was basically sabotaged by a childless menopausal English friend who disagreed with baby showers on principle. Turns out she was a total frenemy and our relationship imploded a year or so later...

Have just weighed myself and I have gone from 5lbs to 7.7lbs over my goal weight Blush I am eating a lot, but I am starving! And legs, bum, arms and face aren't fatter (not much fatter anyhow) should I try to curb it or sod it and deal with it later?

jellypi3 · 13/11/2015 11:04

i'm taking the "sod it i'll deal with it later" approach sky. I'm constantly hungry, and although I'm eating plenty of fruit and a salad each day, i'm finding the only stuff that fills me up are crisps, biscuits etc so I am also unashamedly eating that stuff. When trying to juggle a house move, working full time and being pregnant, my only focus is eating enough food to stop myself ending up back in hopistal.

Once the baby is here, i'll hopefully be able to get back to my pre-preggo fitness levels and i'll rejoin slimming world to lose the weight. But i'm not thinking of it now!

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/11/2015 11:06

Deffo sod it and deal with it later

OP posts:
SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/11/2015 11:17

I don't eat a lot of junk, and if I do it is usually homebaked stuff so not full of preservatives and fillers... I just made a fresh batch of devilled eggs last night. So delicious.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 13/11/2015 11:45

sky - I've been trying to take a middle of the road approach recently - only eating at meal times (which are always home made anyway), and trying to eat a bit less than before (partly because I was feeling so uncomfortable after eating). I'll still have a bit of dark chocolate on a daily basis though, and once every couple of weeks I'll give in to the urge to stuff a whole mars bar into my face. Grin

Even without eating much junk at all, and doing regular workouts throughout the pregnancy I've still managed to put on 12kg (nearly 2 stone) so far, and I'm only 7 months! My aim is to keep my total gain to under 15kg, as I really don't want to be struggling with dieting and a baby at the same time.

I don't know anyone who has had a baby shower. A few friends have been kind enough to by us a bunch of baby stuff, but it wasn't within the context of a party for me and my uterus.

fruitlovingmonkey · 13/11/2015 11:49

I'd say sod it Sky, I've put on a lot more weight than I should have but I don't feel overly fat (apart from my stomach) so I don't think it's really a problem. Being hungry is horrible.
Well done Thursday, I just bought another 3 month supply so will have to remember them now. Bloody expensive too.
Ill why would anyone want to watch that? I want DH to stay up near my head and he certainly won't have a camera.
